Welcome one and all to my roleplay. I'm going to start by saying that this roleplay is advanced literate break set in the world of Harry Potter although it's alternate universe so I've changed a fair number of events that happened in the book to make it suit my plot. My name is Saku and I am the roleplay owner. I am a nineteen years old and I am a Japanese-Korean female living in Florida, for all ya'll that aint wizards Florida is in eastern standard time. I'm a first year college student and while most would assume that college would keep me pretty busy I actually have nothing but free time. I created this roleplay on a whim, I kind of had one of those really random really good roleplays that was relatively original and I thought it would be useful to make into a roleplay. Honestly it's kind of an awkward combination between a generic Harry Potter roleplay a couple romantic comedies and maybe an end of the world plot or two, but in a good way. This roleplay is rather original, at least I hope it is, so I hope you'll show interest and maybe join.

The world of Harry Potter and the general plot information is copyrighted to JK Rowling. Even though I wish I was brilliant enough to come up with the original idea for Harry Potter, sadly I did not. The colors is from a palette entitled Amortentia off colourlovers, I forgot who made the palette. The lyrics in the thread are from the song Let's Fall In Love which was written and composed by Cole Porter and performed by many different people, although I'd have to say Alanis Morisette is one of my personal favorites. As usual graphics and coding are made by me, so now stealing. If you steal you're a jerk and will be ostracized from all my future roleplays. The original ideas in this thread are also mine and you won't steal or borrow them unless you have my expressed permission, understand? Good.

∗ CHAPTER ONE 》
The wizarding world has had it's fair share of issues. Whether it be dark wizards, corruption in the government, issues with the muggles, or a nasty combination of the three they have always had to face and overcome challenges from time to time; it's the law of natural selection and everyone has to live through it. Over the course of the years the wizarding world has done a good job at silencing almost all problems they've encountered. However, in the past a hundred years something happened that hasn't occured since the Salem Witch Trials. A seventeen year old wizard fresh out of Durmstrang made the mistake of using magic in public and he was filmed by a muggle. This video was sent to various news stations and posted online and before anyone in the magical world could silence it the video had been posted on several muggle websites and had gone viral. The muggles had discovered the magical world. It was a repeat of Salem all over again, only this time it happened across the globe.

The muggles were angry and scared at the thought of people, freaks that were capable of using magic to do whatever they pleased. Afraid for their lives and the lives of their children they did what instinct told them to do, used violence. They began capturing anyone that was a known witch or wizard, or believed to be a witch or wizard, and they executed all of them. This posed quite a problem to the wizarding world. It took ten years for the wizarding world to contain the problem. They managed to massively wipe the memories of all the muggles that had found out so the muggle world once more returned to being oblivious. The wizarding world is safe once more.
∗ CHAPTER TWO 》
There's only one problem. With the executions, millions of witches and wizards were slaughtered. As the years went by due to a shortage in numbers, young witches and wizards began marrying muggles. The number of children born squibs with no magical ability went up. The magical population is seriously dwindling and, if the government doesn't take action, it was predicted that it would be extinct by the year 2100. But no worries, the government knows how to fix it, the solution is the young people.

The ministry of magic presiding over Europe was the one that came up with the plan and got the American and Asian ministry in on it. They began tracking young students looking for promising individuals, they've been doing this for the past five years. The year is now 2012 and they are finally putting their plan into action. Several seventh year students from various magical schools (Hogwarts, Beaubaxtons, Durmstrang, Salem, etc) received a letter in the mail only a few weeks before term was to begin informing them that they'd been selected to attend a special and elite magical academy for their last year of school that would better prepare them for their NEWTs and the world outside of school. This school was designed to open doors to become the next great minister of magic or healer. The school, named Westburg Academy for the Magically Gifted, was located in a secluded but beautiful area on the Swedish Coast and the students were going to receive the finest education available. Needless to say, the students all jumped on the opportunity.

What the letter didn't tell them was that they had really been selected to help restore the magical world. What do I mean by this? Well, the students were selected based on a number of things. Academic and magical ability, looks, special talents, and their family history (a strong magical bloodline with minimal occurance of squibs or muggle marriage). These students were invited to this 'academy' under the guise that they'd be receiving a special education, but in actuality these seventeen year olds were expected to fall in love with their classmates and reproduce to up the magical population. The students are being educated at this school, but behind the scenes love potions are being slipped into their food and drinks and they are being given potions to ... increase sex drive to be blunt about it. The ministry is hoping that these teenagers will fall in love and procreate. The entire time these teenagers are all unaware of what is going on behind the scenes.

So far the plan seems to be working, but it may be working a little too well. These are teenagers after all. Love triangles, squares, and octagons are being formed because of the love potions and real feelings. Friendship are being made, fights are happening. So how is this all going to end?

∗ RULE ONE 》
Ah yes the dreaded rules in the dread paragraph format. I'm not going to bother apologizing, the rules are in paragraph format because that seems to be the only way I can make people actually do more than skim through them. It is advised that you read these rules because knowing how I run this roleplay and how I expect things to be done will determine if you sink or float in this roleplay. So getting straight to the point. I'm going to be blunt about it, with the theme of this roleplay things will be PG-17, however I still want people following the gaia TOS. Don't kill anyone and don't write a dirty novel whenever clothes come off. When it comes time for the characters to procreate I'm pretty sure we'd all very much appreciate it if you can skip over it. We'll get the point. While we're talking about restrictions don't curse in excess, don't control other characters unless they're NPCs or you have permission from the owner. Don't steal anything because it's all property of the original owners. Don't be a nuisance, you have no idea how much I hate nuisances. Don't let this roleplay die, I want it to get to page 500, not page 5. It makes me so frustrated when I see all those roleplays out there with people that can barely form complex sentences let alone a full paragraph and they're on page one billion and everyone in my roleplays can scarcely get past page 2.

If you want to join you must be capable of typing at least three paragraphs (21 sentences), forming sentences with understandable spelling and grammar. I actually read posts so I'd very much like to be able to understand what you're trying to say. Posts should be decorated nicely, none of that glittery text and flashy icon crap because posts like that are nothing but eye sores. You must post in the ooc regularly and you must post in the ic at least once a week although more is preferable. Ultimately this is a pretty laid back roleplay but when I see things start to lag I won't hesitate to crack the whip and make sure everyone starts posting.
∗ RULE TWO 》
Character's of all genders and nationalities are welcome in this roleplay however because of the nature of this roleplay I am going to have to reject homosexual characters. I have nothing against gay and lesbian people, my brother and best friend are both gay, they just won't really fit into the theme of this roleplay. I hope you understand. You are welcome to use everyone from your next door neighbor to models to celebrities as the face of your character as long as they're attractive, they fit the character, and they look their age. All the characters in this roleplay are supposed to be seventeen, no older no younger. I'm kind of picky about the age thing, especially when it comes to males. If the model is even remotely scruffy I'll immediately think of them as older and probably try to convince you to change models... and I just don't find scruffy people attractive, forgive me.

I want all characters to be original and have some kind of special quirk or ability but I don't want you to overdo it. I'm sorry but I am not allowing you to create characters with relations to the canons. No daughters of Albus Dumbledore or third cousin twice removed of Harry Potter. If you have a problem with that, deal with it. I also kind of want to avoid veela and werewolf characters because once I allow one everyone will want one. I will, however, permit animagus and metamorphogus characters and I might allow a parseltongue if you give me good reasoning as to why the hell they'd be here and not off in the chamber of secrets having a conversation with the basilisk. When it comes to character faces I don't want to see anyone that was in any of the Harry Potter movies, even if it was just a cameo. That means no Robert Pattinson, no Emma Watson, etc etc.

Try to be realistic with your characters. I am offering characters from several different schools so there is room for variation, but I don't want all the characters from Durmstrang to be Asian because... while there are some Asians in that area the chances of several Asians being in that area, being magically gifted, and all being invited to the special school is highly unlikely. You understand?
∗ RULE THREE 》
As a notice to all those that are interested in joining, good, I'm glad. There was a group search version of this roleplay though so all those people that applied through the group search will get priority when it comes to role choice. You know who you are~ I love you guys <3 Now, when it comes to applying it's simple. All you have to do is copy the background check skeleton from below, fill it out, and post it in the ooc to be evaluated. Pay attention to your notices because I'll quote you when I post either your acceptance or denied message. After your background check has been accepted you will have twenty-four hours to fill out the mini-info section. If you have not submitted this section within twenty four hours your spot will be reopened. Once the mini-info section has been posted and accepted than you're officially a part of the roleplay because I really hate profiles and they slow down the process.

It is encouraged that you make an effort to plot with other characters and form relationships because that will help your posts overall. Try and get along with everyone in the ooc although lots of drama is encouraged in the ic, duh. It is becoming obvious that Winter is slowly falling on all of Europe
The temperatures are in the fifties and the weather is extremely rainy
Today the high is sixty - two and the low is fifty - four, there is a 7O% chance of getting rain today
∗ EVENTS 》
There is class today, but don't worry it's a pretty relaxed day... like most days.
Time is now eight o'clock in the morning, students should be waking up and getting dressed for the day. Remember Westburg encourages freedom of expression and doesn't enforce a uniform policy although they do encourage that you make sure you look presentable
Breakfast is at nine , what students don't know is the sixth round of love potion is to be administered in their morning pumpkin juice / tea / coffee / milk (whatever the hell they're drinking A report by professor Lerwick and Patel states that at this stage students should be slowly starting to show the effects of the love potions, building minor attachments to specific people
The first class of the day begins at promptly Eleven fifteen. All of the students will be going out to the garden while it's actually not raining for a herbology session with professor devereux.
After that the students are given free time and then lunch is served at one thirty
Their next class isn't until two forty five, which is wandless magic with Professor Jang
At promptly four o'clock they are expected to attend transfiguration with Professor Lerwick
Dinner is served at six and then after that students have free time for the rest of the day
There is no enforced curfew although it is encouraged for health reasons that students get to bed between ten and eleven

UPCOMING EVENTS
Halloween is fast approaching and the staff is planning a Halloween Ball for the students to meet and mingle and get closer with their classmates. Already they've been attending the school together for a little over a month so they should be pretty familiar with one another, this is an opportunity for them to get to know each other better (and see the first signs of the love potions really take effect)
