Home to the Literate Shinobi of Gaia

The Spring Festival

To celebrate the incoming of flowers, rain, and the annoying chirping of birds coming home for the warmth, Konoha will be hosting a one month festival. From March 10 to March 31, the streets of this village will be filled with festivities of games, shops, and concerts. Most visitors will be welcome then, though be advised, any foul play will be reacted to with extreme prejudice. The other four villages will at least have some of their members here to join to help in keeping order and enjoy the event themselves, so if any trouble goes down, we have enough manpower to deal with it. So come in and have fun!

In the modern days of Gaia, there are elite to settle disputes that arise across the vast world. Konohakagure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, is situated in the middle of a dense forest before a giant mural of Hokages past etched into a mountain. While Konoha is a bustling community of its own, it is most known for it's primary service of choice-- ninja.

Guests from all about Gaia flock to this village in search of places to live, the beautiful scenery and events of the community, and to hire the skilled ninja who call this village their home. Children are schooled at the Ninja Academy in their youth, each with high hopes of graduating to the level of Genin and following in the footsteps of their friends, family, and leaders. Their entire way of life is a trial of their skill, some excelling to even the Chuunin or Jounin rank, and beyond.

The Hokage, Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin, runs all functions of Konoha. She is responsible for all within the village walls, from citizens of Konoha to the international visitors from faraway ninja countries and various parts of Gaia.

This roleplay community takes place directly after the timeskip (the beginning of the Shippuuden sagas). Although recent chapters provide us with more information about the characters belonging to Konoha and the neighboring countries, we're allowing all characters present at the start of Shippuuden to be played in the community.

That said, the primary function of this thread is NOT to be a Naruto roleplay, but a community in the LOCATION of Konoha. We welcome characters from all parts of Gaia to be a part of the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

[Tsunade of the Sannin]

1. Obey all Gaian TERMS OF SERVICE . (PG-13 conduct, no trolling, no soliciting, no plagiarism, ect.)

2. OOC should be as minimal as possible in this thread. For extended conversations, please relocate yourself to the Out-of-Character Thread.

3. This is a LITERATE community. Proper English and grammar are heavily praised here. If you're concerned about your writing ability not being up-to-par, please contact one of the moderators.

4. Konoha is a LONG-TERM community. While characters will be routinely coming in and out of the thread from time to time, members should plan to be dedicated.

5. The Moderators words are LAW. Disobedience to their requests will result in a blacklisting, and are therefore not welcomed back to participate in Konoha or any of the other conjoined villages.

6. Not all participants in Konoha need to be members. Not all members of Konoha need to be ninja. Only members of Konoha (especially members wishing to partake in missions and events) need to submit a PROFILE. All profiles and character requests must be submitted to the Hidden Villages Profile Guild. There are rules specific to character-construction there, so be sure to read those! The guild is temporarily under construction, so sit tight.

7. Fighting is allowed, but this is a ROLEPLAY thread rather than a battle thread. NInja are welcome to spar against each other, as long as it's consensual, doesn't cause damage to the village, and doesn't kill anyone. Konoha is currently NOT OPEN TO ATTACK. This means that people are not allowed to attack the thread itself. People are allowed to fight in the thread and pose challenges, but they're not allowed to use that challenge as a means to cause damage to the village. This includes killing people and stealing anything of importance to Konoha. People who wish to commence an attack with a reasonable storyline behind it should PM TSUNADE so that it can be set up correctly, so that the appropriate people will be online to participate. The simple PM rule will stand until a more specific system of engagement terms can be formulated.

8. This Konoha is CANON. Characters originally from the Naruto universe will be restricted to the actual storyline of the manga and anime. Since our roleplay is set in the time at the beginning of the Shippuuden sagas, the missions and accomplishments that take place after Naruto's return from his two-year training will not have happened yet. Please be courteous in terms of spoilers, since not all participants in Konoha may be up-to-date on Naruto's most recent chapters.

9. To avoid arguments in fighting, all participants will be expected to adhere to the Anti-Munch regulations.

After months of trying to let this place die, it continues to live. By popular demand, Tsunade is back on the project of upgrading Konoha and the other villages to proper, current standards. Be prepared for a grand opening!

Land of Fire

The Land of Fire is home to Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, and is the home to many ninja. It enjoys a relatively temperate climate, with generally sunny conditions year-round. It was at first widely regarded as one of the strongest countries, but became significantly weaker after Orochimaru's invasion of Konoha, however, still holds a powerful defense.

l:.DEFENSES AND LOCATIONS.:l

A large wall protects the citizens of Konoha from all outside threats from the front, and the wall connects to the Hokage's mountain in the back, which resembles a Mt. Rushmore-like monument, with the faces of the five Hokages that have come and gone, as well as the present Hokage, Tsunade.

The wall is made of STONE, at least 9-10 stories high, erected to protect the village since the times of the first and second Hokages, who'd originally founded Konohakagure.

ANBU Black Ops (sort of like an elite police, the parallel SWAT team of the ninja universe) constantly patrol at the top of the wall, along with Konohakagure's own nin, to provide early recognition of oncoming threats.

There is only one opening in the wall, 6-story high double doors that require immense strength to open. It's almost unheard of that one person could open them by themselves from either inside or outside. A mechanic device operated by Chuunin and Jounin guards from the inside of the village opens and closes the double doors.

Further, two ninja are positioned in a small open office to inquire all who enter that aren't persons native to Konoha.

Inside Konoha, there are a number of places that are essential to Konoha's civilian geography, as well as popular hangout spots.


Hokage Monument
Location: Mountain overlooking Konoha
The monument portayed all the previous Hokages.

Hokage's Office
Location: Below the Hokage Monument
This is where the Hokage works. The door is also the main entrance to the Academy.



Konoha Gate
Location: Front of the wall surrounding Konoha
The only entrance into the village is through this single gate that towers nearly 6-stories high. The massive double doors can only be opened from the inside.


Ichiraku Ramen
Location: On the Main Road
Ichiraku is a Ramen restaurant. Naruto spends most of his time here when he is not on missions.



Barbeque Restaurant
Location: By the Flower Shop and Hospital
This BBQ Restaurant is where Asuma often treats Choji after or before his daily routine training. Though he invites Shikamaru and Ino to come, they don't eat much.


The Ninja Academy
Location: The bottom floor of the Hokage's Office building
Children are taught the ways of the ninja here in their youth, and strive to become Genin as they reach the end of their childhood. Some even become teachers to school new academy students.


Memorial Monument
Location: Near the Hokage Monument and Survival Training Areas
The Memorial Monument is a carved stone that represent the shinobi of Konoha who were Killed-In-Action. They are ninja who have fought for the Leaf Village and died a hero. The most noticeable names are: Hayate Gekko, Obito Uchiha, Iruka's Parents and the Third Hokage (Sarutobi). There are many others.

Konoha Strict Correctional Facility
Location: Middle of Nowhere
Konoha Strict Correction Facility was originally named "Special Ninja Felony Prison". This is where S Rank Ninjas and those who broke Konoha Laws stay and repay their services to the village.


Forest of Death
Location: Unknown
The Forest of Death is where the 2nd stage of the Chuunin Exam is held. It is surrounded by a metal fence and 45 gates equally spreads throughout. In the middle is a tower, surrounded by 2 rivers.

This is where the preliminary round for the 3rd stage for the final stage is held.



Yamanaka Flower Shop
Location: Near Hospital
The Yamanaka Flower Shop is where the Yamanaka family lives and runs their business. They sell flowers.



Bookstore
Location: Main Street
The Bookstore is where Naruto and Konohamaru went in to look at different images of girls to perfect Konohamaru's Sexy Jutsu. This store is also frequented by Kakashi when the newest installments of his favorite series comes in.

Chuunin Exam Stadium
Location: Unknown
This is where the final stage of the Chuunin Exam was held, and the start of the invasion of the Leaf Village and where the Third Hokage died.
