The music industry is a harsh world, constantly changing and quickly adapting to the trends and styles of modern-day Japan. You're either the best sound of today or the newest beat tomorrow, else you're just yesterday's news.
NG Productions, the company responsible for great bands such as Nittle Grasper and more recently, Bad Luck, understands this concept perfectly. The company's director, Tohma Seguchi, has expertly put together bands that have created some of the best music Japan has to offer. His genius has even spread across the water to mainland Asia and the West - it's a well-known fact that if you're under Tohma's wing, you're bound for stardom.

It's been two years since Bad Luck made their debut with Rage Beat, the lyrics of which were almost lost on the wind. Were it not for the writer Yuki Eiri's presence that night in the park, perhaps the song might never of been finished on time. Certainly, Shuichi would never have met the love of his life, and began their love story. At times it was painful, his heart torn by a deep sadness. However, these difficult times are outweighed by the happiness he'd experienced when he saw Yuki smile for the first time, or when he'd first heard those three words that made him feel as high as the moon. He'd met so many wonderful friends as well - not to mention been in the craziest situations!

But within those two years a rival company has been slowly rising to the pinnacles of fame and fortune. Their new band, Mystify, released their debut single two months ago, and have been gaining popularity like a rolling stone. The band are young, energetic, and people adore them. There are even rumours that they will become as popular, if not more so, than Bad Luck.

Last night the charts were announced. Mystify's new single managed to knock Bad Luck's to the second placing, which has made some people at NG Productions a little...curious. Sensing a potential in this rivalry to inspire and energise the musicians of Bad Luck, President Seguchi has arranged a spot on a popular TV show, 'Jump! To the Music'. But instead of appearing on the show alone, Bad Luck is due to appear with Mystify and to compete in humorous games for the audience's entertainment. Then, at the end of the show, the two bands will perform their songs and wow the crowd. Since it benefits the rival company's purposes, they have agreed to the idea. Everyone wins.
Only things in the world of Gravitation are never that simple. Behind the smiles and pleasantries there lies desire, jealousy, and greed. The show is scheduled for the following week, but who knows what kind of trouble will arise amidst the love, music and explosions?

- No flaming
I don't want to deal with disputes between members, so let's keep this thread peaceful.
- Romance
Romance is encouraged - come on, it's Gravitation! However, I ask that it be PG-13. Hugging? Yes. Kissing? Yes. Shamelessly flirting? Knock yourself out. However, any bedroom activities are not allowed. You know the ones I mean. Do a time skip or something if you absolutely can't resist.
- Feel the man-love
Chances are if you're here you've either read or watched Gravitation, which means you know that it focuses on the relationship between the two male characters, Shuichi and Yuki. If you don't like it, then the 'back' button should be at the top of your browser.
- Comedy
Okay, so throughout the series we've seen a gun-toting manager, giant panda robots, high speed car chases...so why should we exclude them now? Just keep in mind that if you want to do something comical to lighten the mood, it should be as well-written as anything serious.
- Cursing
Ah, the colourful English language. Feel free to curse as much as you like, although please refrain from swearing excessively.

L i t e r a c y

- Paragraphs
This is a literate roleplay. As such, there are some rules on posts. Each post should have a minimum of four paragraphs, although of course more is welcomed with open arms. Correct spelling and grammar are appreciated, although don't worry if you make the odd mistake here and there. None of us are perfect.
- Past tense, third person
Please write in past tense, third person format. This means that an ideal style of writing is ('Bob walked past the door') instead of something on the lines of (*Walking past door*).
- Speech marks
Please use speech marks to show where text is being spoken. For example, (“Hello”, he said as he walked past the door.) rather than (Hello *Walking past door*).
- OoC
Please keep the OoC to the appropriate thread.

The characters that I'm accepting from the original series can be found in the 'Characters' post a little further down. If you're desperate to play a character who isn't listed, PM me and maybe I'll add them in.
- Original Characters
There are some characters in this roleplay who weren't in the original series, and for these I request that you be as creative as possible! Don't be afraid to be a little wacky!
- Profiles
Please send profiles via PM, don't post them here. The character skeleton is on the profile thread, with a link on the character post on this page.
- Reservations
If you wish to make a reservation, please PM me with the title of 'Reservation: ______', with the title you want to reserve in the blank spot.
- Limit
You may have a maximum of two characters, for now.
- Pictures
No real-life pictures, please. When using pictures for the Canon characters, feel free to use official art from the manga/anime, manga images, or fan-art.

Between internet fansites and gossip magazines, there's always some dirt to be dug up and fed out to the public so they can marvel at fashions, sigh at romance, and be shocked by fights.
