Welcome to Gaia! ::

Christabelle was much more composed than Reed. She nodded at the guidance counselor, then sat down opposite of Jasper and Blake. Her schedule was different from most of her peers in that she already had enough credits in science and math - so instead of taking more electives or going home early, she decided to spend her free bells as an office assistant. She spent at least a half-hour with Mr. Coltaire every day last year, taking phone messages, delivering documents to the Principal, making copies, and spinning around in the big fat senator chairs in the small conference room. They were comfy as heck! She often wondered how many students were jealous of her because of this.

((Oh, fun...seriously, fun.))

Foster sat at the table the baseball players had abandoned, near the window that, if you looked closely out of it, you could just see the baseball diamond. When he focused, he could just make out Micky, pitching into Simon's glove with a speed that had him whistling. Abused child or not, the girl had one hell of a fast ball.

Akira had watched, while contemplating to sneak some food before reed could catch her or not, all the commotion with the baseball cap girl and the man that had caused the cafeteria to go dead silent, in honest confusion. So many questions popped into the girl's mind, like who was that, what's the big deal, why did that girl smack her fist onto the table..., but as soon as she'd seen her sister lightly blush, raise her hand, and actually almost wave at that strong looking guy- they stopped.

A grin spread across the brunnet's face.

"Well well well, did i just see what i think i did, sis?"

Reed looked up at her sister, a flush still present in her cheeks, but tried to look innocent, which she pulled off quite well. She was innocent. "What? What are you talking about, Akira?"

Akira's grin only grew bigger, as she gently shook her head, ignoring Eli's lost stare.

"Nah nah nah, don't try that with me! I saw what you almost did! Annnndddd the fact that your..." she paused for suspence and poked her sister's cheek gently, "Bllluusshhiinnggg."

Reed really did have to laugh at the irony her sister used. "Akira, I blush at almost everything!"

"...You have a point there dear sister, but alas, i saw WHO you were looking at and WHY you blushed this time all the same" Akira explained smoothly like a detective solving a case.

Elionne giggled and nudged her best friend lightly.

"Do you even know the guy's name? Cuz i sure don't." she asked teasingly.

"Elllliiiii!!! Don't ruin the moment!!!" the brunnet teased back, then gave her sister a very serious look and said in a mom like voice, "He's too old for you, sis."

Reed's smile disappeared and she just looked at Akira for a few moments in surprise. She had seen who she had been looking at, why she had been staring? Reed had hoped no one had noticed. She was so used to people not noticing her actions during the day that she hadn't been too worried about it, and of course, she hadn't even really purposefully stared at Mr. Coltaire. It had just happened. But, she should have been more alert. With her sister here now, she WOULD pay attention to Reed. Reed had to be more careful.

Reed was blushing brightly again and she sighed as she began picking at her pears again with her fork. "That's Mr. Coltaire. He began here as the guidance counselor last year. This is his second year here. You two really should pay more attention to what's going on in this school."

Almost as if her prayers were answered, the lunch bell finally rang. It was B lunch now, and the students in A lunch now had to go to their homeroom, the same homeroom they had for 20 minutes in the morning. This would last half an hour and then the classes would start up again. So, Reed quickly got up, dropped her tray off at the dishwasher, and then started walking out of the cafeteria with her sister and Eli.

"Alright. Well, you two have a good rest of the day. Remember, I won't be on the bus because I have 4H after school. I really recommend you two join a group after school or a sport now that you're in high school. I'll see you later!"

Then, she raced off to homeroom.

((Do we want to skip to the end of the school day now to the after school activities? And I don't know if Williamsburg has 4H or not, but in this story they do! lol! So, what does everyone think? Time skip?))
((I know for a fact that there are 4H centers in Wakefield and Jamestown. I've been there.))

((What's 4H? And i don't mind the time skip, but you know, the only reason Akira and Eli don't know who's who and what's what is because they are "new" to the school and it was their 1st day, so they weren't exactly told anything much besides their shedual and lockers lol.))

Akira couldn't help but giggled at the look of her older sister's face when it finally had dawned on her that now that her little sis was in the same building as her, this brunnet would indeed be keeping an eye on her older sibling like a hawk.

As all three girls walked out of the cafeteria when the bell rang, Elionne was thinking over what Reed had said about after school activities and decided that that wasn't a half bad idea! There was bound to be many more kinds of activities in a high school then in junior school!

Akira, on the other hand, wasn't so sure if she was going to bother with that or not this year. After all, going home and taking it easy, playing with their golden retriver, ________, and taking care of the farm animals seemed a lot more fun then staying after school any longer then forced to!

guy brushwood

There are moments when life looks at you and then laughs, but sometimes... it just doesn't stop at a chuckle. It escalates to rude writing on assignments turned in, a long scratch on the side of your car that's two payments behind, a rather bad poem about how your a very dull person. There was only so much that one could take and it was apparent that Mr.Guy Brushwood was passive to the point that nothing seemed to matter or make him react. He was baggy man in baggy clothes with graying hair, a face that was as distinguishing paper mache, his head always beneath his shoulders. At the staff meeting, he was never called upon, his opinion never asked, and no mug with his name on it. If life were any more dreary and bland, it would be because Mr.Brushwood was wearing a particularly gray suit with a particularly gray tie and very dark shoes that never shone or even let out an entertaining squeak. Just dull thuds.

What had happened to the man that was known for being the first at everything? Trophies and garlands and lanyards and medallions and pictures in the newspaper. All that glitters are gold, but the thing about glitter is that it can blow away in the wind and never be seen again. Yes, Mr.Guy Brushwood was the world's most UN-interesting man to ever walk the earth. Today was no different from the others; A morning of unexciting, unsatisfying, unawesomeness. Classes would be the same, empty and quiet, only the sound of the few lights in the room buzzing and the rare wheezing from the man. There was not much time left for his department, no one able to understand the good that comes out of parapsychology. It was just another pipe dream that would die quietly.
((I have nooo idea what to post - so, time skip?))

((Yep! Time-skip to after school! biggrin And Lisa, 4-H is a farm organization that actually was created in a town 8 miles from where I live, another town I consider my hometown. I was never in 4-H, but from all the hooplah that always exist down here because of Clarinda being the home of 4-H, seeing the stuff in the museum about it, and b/c so many farmers' kids here are in 4-H, I know a little about it. It's a farm organization where kids learn about different farming methods, how to raise livestock, and generally just how to make your farm prosperous. And then at fairs, kids show off the projects they were working on during 4-H and enter them in contests for blue ribbons and such. This includes animals that they raised. As far as I know, there are also some really good 4-H scholarships.))

Finally Reed was able to be outside again. She was meeting on the playground with the other 4-H members and the grown-ups that volunteered to lead the group. Her father was one of them since he was considered somewhat of an expert on farming in the county. Kids from the small schools around Williamsburg also attended this 4-H chapter. It wasn't just for Williamsburg students. So, Reed had some friends in 4-H that didn't go to her school. She sat with them while she waited for the meeting to start. She smiled and waved at her father, who was standing off to the side, talking with the 3 other leaders. He smiled and waved back and then went back to conversing. He loved educating young people on the joys of farming. He usually hated big meetings and any focus that was put on him for his farming, but kids were different. He liked guiding them and seeing what their own imaginations made them come up with.

Reed and her father both hoped Akira would join 4-H now. Even children in junior high could join, but Akira had chosen not to. They hoped she would now that she was in high school, but they wouldn't push her. They would just wait to see if she showed up for the meeting.

((sorry i haven't been on lately.))

Blake let out a loud yawn and stretched his arms. He was a bit tired of the tedious school day, and was extremely glad that it was over. At least until tomorrow. Now, it was off to work. He had to pay off his own bills and earn some money for food. He hated being in debt with people, so he found several part time jobs that he could do, most of it working on the local farms, helping them with random chores. Today though, he was supposed to be working in a super market, helping them stock groceries. Easy.

He gathered up his stuff and headed out the door, taking the long way there so he could enjoy the countryside before he spent the next several hours inside a building again.
