(I know, right? And thanks for the greeting. Sorry, I was off posting in a friend's thread and got distracted.)

"I will never look at Shakespeare the same way again. It's just so... Deep and meaningful. I don't see why the girls in drama aren't worked up at the mention of Macbeth." Jasper regarded to his friend and slid the his candy bar to him. He wasn't fond of candy, and the nuts were bound to get stuck in his teeth. As funny as it is to have something int your teeth, it was annoying to get out."You can have this. How did I ever get into Drama anyways? I don't want to be in a play or musical. I want to do stand up! I'm gunna get that counselor to switch me to something better... like woodshop. Think of all the wooden picles I could make. And I'll finally be able to make that box I need to cut someone in half." The boy ranted on, but stopped himself to start eating. "How 'bout you?"

Blake chuckled and took the candy bar. He liked it well enough, though he could do without the nuts. Ah well. He unwrapped it and took a bite. "Maybe they put you in Drama so you can actually put some meaning behind those jokes you keep spouting. Maybe then you can get a laugh or two out of people."

"What? Like say... Hamlet?" Holding up his PORK sandwich, Jasper cleared his throat, "To squee, or not to squee? That is the question. Whether tis nobler of the swine to suffer at the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or take arms and shoulders against a sea of troubles... Totally just came up with that just now. I might just have enough fodder in Drama to poke fun at! This is why I ask you things, Blake. You just clarify my thoughts for me."

Before Reed could stop her, Akira had already gulped down her hamburger. It was cute how grateful she looked just to get some simple food, but she was going to be in pain if she kept scarfing down her food!

Before she could start in on her pears, Reed quickly reached forward and put her hands over the top of the bowl. "Slow down, Akira! You know you get sick when you eat too fast. And I have an apple in my locker if you really want something else to eat later in the afternoon."

She laughed softly at her sister's antics and then responded to what she and Eli had said about the new gym teacher. "And really, he can't be that bad. I mean, it's his first day. He's probably making sure he establishes his authority from the beginning and will then lighten up."

She smiled encouragingly to both of them.

Akira blushed, as Eli giggled, and nodded reluctantly, knowing fully well that her older sister was right, but she couldn't help it!!! She was starving after that crazy run! Still, she sat back and took deep breaths instead, still feeling a little out of breath.

"I know i know...Sorry..."

Eli shook her head though. "I don't think that's it...Almost hitting students that were having a lot of trouble with the run isn't exactly "showing authority"..."

Blake actually laughed at what he said this time. "Well, there ya go. You now have a reason to stay in Drama. Just try not to kill them all with laughter, alright?"

He pulled out his fork and started to dig into his main course, the rice topped with pork n' beans and roast beef. It was strangely very tasty, even though it had cooled off over the course of the day.

"Mhm," The joker agreed, his mouth stuffed with a big bite of his lunch. The sauce had solidified into a gooey caramel and didn't soggy the bun. It was a miracle! Usually if he had such a thing, the bread would become all mushy and soggy and just disintegrate from touching it. Today... was a good day.

"Anywho, I can't wait for the day to finally end. I'm trying to finish this book off before the week is over. There's nothing better than pirates looking for treasure and finding out that they were just lead on a wild goose chase... A literal goose chase. And who would think that they'd partner up with Cowboys to do that?" Jasper quickly finished off his sandwich and knocked out a few pages in the process, laughing the whole time. "I kinda miss recess, y'know? This high school stuff has long lunches, but there's nothing to climb or swing on. How did we survive middle school?"

Reed moved her hands away from the bowl of pears when she was sure that her sister wouldn't gulp them down. But she was concerned about what Eli said. Her eyes showed that.

"What? What do you mean by that, Eli?"

Blake stared at his friend. Pirates and cowboys and geese? Jasper certainly had a strange taste in books. Sorta like his jokes. Well, I guess they have to kinda go hand in hand.

He sighed when Jasper brought up recess. "I know. I miss it too. Good thing in middle school, there was always the chance to cut class and fling things off the roof at passerbys. If it weren't for that, I think we would have gone insane. Remember that huge water balloon we flung at Mr. Doughtree's car?"

"Just that. He chased the students with his car and almost wacked the kids that were having trouble! It was really bad!" Eli explained, as Akira nodded.

Reed's eyes widened and she started to shake her head slowly. "No.... no, you must be mistaken. A teacher wouldn't do that!"

She was now just picking at her salad in front of her. A teacher wouldn't do that. "Besides, a gym teacher doesn't drive alongside students in a car while they're running."

(took an online test for class. My, I'm a slacker.)

"Do I ever! Really, how were we supposed to know that filling a trash bag with water was that dangerous? If we used regular balloons, they would pop before we even threw them. We're lucky it only dented his hood." After recently being hit by a balloon from such a height before, he was half glad they stopped. No it was just erasers above doorways and bug in an ice cubes. Working in a joke store had some kicks to it. "Luch should be over soon. How about we blow this popsicle stand and miss a couple hours of algebra? It's just a review of the last class. We're gunna X over to Y... Leave. I can't math." Jasper put his palm to his face and sighed, not going to even try any witty math humor for the next few years.

Blake rolled his eyes. "You keep working on those math jokes. But, nah, I'm actually trying to change this year. And that starts with showing up for class so I don't, you know, FAIL again." He covered up his now empty container and shoved it back in his bag. "Besides, you need to sit in class more often. Who knows. Your brain might grow a little."

"Brains don't grow, the just change up their chemical compounds to replace old on-... Wait a minute." Whether this was a joke or a serious statement, there never seemed to be a look of "deep thought" for the boy. He had practiced it the mirror before but always saw it as "light pondering". "I guess I'll bear with it.... And that 7 -ate- 9 joke wouldn't make even the most serious math enthusiast laugh."

(Yeah... mind if someone just have us skip the rest of school? It will be dull if it goes on like this.)

Christabelle glided into the cafeteria (she never just walked, in case you haven't noticed), and stood behind Blake and Jasper. They hadn't noticed her after a few seconds, so she leaned in silently between them. "I heard a precalc teacher got arrested over at Dulles..."

((Dulles is an airport by D.C, btw.))

"... They say he was carrying weapons of math instruction." She did not, by any means, expect that to go over well. But, hopefully it'd cheer up Jasper and be a new joke for his arsenal! After all, Chris thought he was pretty funny. Kinda cute too, but mostly funny.
