((Biiiiggg post to make up for not posting sooner lol, i needed my book.))
After a little while of playing around with Yume, Akira walked over to a shielf (the girls had begged their father to build one, where they could put all their favorites books, after all, reading where there was a lot of fresh hay and being around all the animals was very relaxing, especially since their house was so hectic most of the time!) and scanned the books carefully for the one she had yet to finish. The brunnet had decided too kill two birds with one stone. How? Simple! Find the book and read outloud to the baby goat! That would calm them both, help Yumi fall asleep, and she'd be getting farther into the story!
"Ah ha! There you are! Okay Yumi, I found the book!" Akira called out to her baby goat as she walked back to her. Once the teenager sat down, Yumi ran over, sat down next to the girl, and poked her nose at the book curiously.
Akira giggled and storked the baby animal's fur. "It's not to eat silly, i'm going to read to you, so just listen, okay?"
Seeming to understand, Yumi rested her chin on the girl's lap, relaxing and ready to listen.
Fingertips lightly brushed the hard cover of "The Magician, the secrets of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel" This was the second book of the series and Akira was almost done.
She flipped through the pages until she found where she was and started to read ((Skip this part if you ever want to read this book lol)),
"Flamel shrugged slightly. "Who knows knows? Dee has always been very persuasive, and Machiavelli is a master manipulator. But we can find them, I'm sure of it. Your sences have been awakened, Sophie. Look again; imagine Josh standing in front of you, see him...."
Sophie took a deep breath and closed her eyes, then opened them again. She could see nothing out of the ordinary; she was standing in a dirty trash-strewn alley, the walls covered with curling ornate graffiti, with the smoke of theburning car whirling around her.
"His aura is gold," Flamel continued. "Dee's is yellow...Machiavelli's gray or dirty white..."
Sophie started to shake her head. "I can't see anything," she began.
"Then let me help you." Nicholas put his hands on her shoulder and suddenly the stink of the burning car was replaced with the fresh sharp smell of mint. Instantly, her aura flared around her body, crackling and spitting like fireworks, the pure silver now tinged with the emerald green of Flame's aura.
And then she saw...something.
Directly in front of her she could make out the merest hint of Josh's outline. It was ghostly and insubstantial, composed of little more than threads and sparkling dust motes of gold, and when he moved he trailed streaked lines of gossamer color in the air behind him. Now she knew what she was looking for, she could also make out the traces of Dee's and Machiavelli's outlines in the air."
Akira closed the book, which made a small thup sound, because her little animal was fast asleep, curled up in a little ball next to her. Smiling, the teenager got up slowly, fetched a blanket, and placed it over the sleeping creature.
She looked over to her sister and her eyes widened as she swore she was a beautiful blue light ((guessing on the color here lol)) enveloped around Reed, sparking softly, a trail of the same color light flowed and followed her from the entrance of the barn. Akira stared for a moment, then blinked hard. Once she opened her eyes again, the light was gone.
'Weird...Did i just see her aura???? Naaaahhh....Well maybe...Woah, i like this book so much that i'm imagining things! Freaken cool!'
