We’re stuck in a place so dark you can hardly see,
The manner of matter that splits with the words I breathe
And as the rain drips acidic questions around me
I block out the sight and the powers that be
And duck away into the darkness
Times up
I wind up in a rusted world with eyes shut so tight that it blurs into the world of pretend
And the eyes ease open And it’s dark again
Listen to the sound, dizzy from the ups and downs
I’m nauseated by the polluted rot that’s all around
Watching the wheels of cars that pass
I look past to the last of the light and the long shadows it casts
A window grows and captures the eye
And cries out a yellow light as it passes me by
And a young shadowy figure sits in front of a box
Inside a building of rock with antennas on top,
Nothing can stop in this land of the pain
The sane lose not knowing they were part of the game
And while the insides change
The box stays the same and the figure inside could bear anybody’s name
The memories I keep are from a time like then
I put on my paper so I could come back to them
Someday I’m hoping to close my eyes and pretend
That this crumpled up paper can be perfect again
I’m nauseated by the polluted rot that’s all around

+Plot+
The Joker's plan succeeded. With Gotham's White Knight dead and the Caped Crusader now part of Gotham's Most Wanted, the city is beginning to fall back into it's former chaos and anarchy.
It's been a week since the Joker was captured and sent to Arkham. To the doctor's suprise, he has been sitting in his cell without causing too much trouble. (Not too much, since harassing the nurses, doctors and guards counts as a little trouble.) But it's all part of the Joker's next plan. He would sit there and be a good boy until the time was right. He was going to let everything that he told Batman sink in and let Gotham become chaotic again before he took the next step in his plan.
Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne is growing frustrated. Because of the search and arrest warrent now out for Batman, he can not go out during the night to help the city. He knew what he was doing when he decided to take the blame for the people that Harvey "Two-Face" Dent, but he had not expected what would happen next. He had cops, detectives and even S.W.A.T. teams after him. Bruce hated to look out the window of his penthouse, just to be reminded of the darkness that was spreading through the city. Terror was in the hearts of the innocent as the crime rate began to rise again. It was horrible. The crime rate had rose by 20% in a week. As stated earlier, Bruce was getting frustrated.
Then it happened. The Joker broke out of Arkham and is now free in the streets. As the Clown Prince of Crime gains criminal allies, Batman is quickly becoming highly outnumbered. But there are those noble hearts who have decided to help him. Those who believe that the city can be returned back to a peaceful state. Those who believe that all it takes is a little time, justice and cleaning up of the street.
What will happen to Gotham City? Will it be able to piece itself back together again or will the criminals take control of the city and rule it once and for all? And which side will you take in this fight for the city? This game depends on the moves the players take...

Name Bruce Wayne, Batman
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Personality: Bruce only really cares about those close to him and cleaning up the streets of Gotham. He is very distant to anyone else around him. He acts like a brainless, self-centered billioniare when he is in public so others will not suspect him. In all truth, he's very inteligent and is a great detective.
When Batman, he is much more agressive. He gets down to business and takes no short cuts when tracking down criminals. No matter what kind of crimnal, he makes sure that they are brought to justice.
Bio: Bruce Wayne is the son of the Wayne family, owners of Wayne Enterprises. They are very wealthy and trade and negotiate with other companies all over the world.
As a young child, Bruce played with Rachel Dawes. One day, while playing with Rachel, Bruce hid on a boarded up well that ended up caving in and Bruce fell down the well. Frightened by the sudden intrusion, bats flew out of the well, beginning Bruce's fear of bats. Later, he and his parents went to a play but little Bruce was scared of the people dressed as bats and asked to leave. Not wanting to disturb others, they went out the back way into an allyway, where they met a man who stole from them and killed both of Bruce's parents. Being left an orphan, Bruce only had Alfred, the family butler. Still, he blamed himself for his parents death.
Seventeen years later, after seeing the man who killed his parents get shot and being lectured by Maroni, Bruce began to travel around the world to see what it was like to less fortunate. Years later, he was found by Ra's Al Goul. He taught Bruce how to fight and use martial arts. Though, when he asked Bruce to kill a man, Bruce refused and was forced to escape from the place.
Afterwards, Bruce talked to Alfred about how he wanted to help Gotham become peaceful once again. With the help of Lucius Fox, Bruce became Batman.
Special Abilities: Bruce has amazing strength and reflexes. Also, he is inteligent and has great detective skills.
Weapons: Bruce's Batman suit is armored and is knife and bulletproof. His utility belt contains a grappling hook that can pull the man up, multiple types of seditives and smokes and several bat-shaped throwing stars. Also, he has his batpod.

Name Rin 'Yoru' Yamano
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Personality: Rin is a calm person, quiet at first, but when someone gains her trust, she warms up pretty fast. She pretends to be pretty forgetful, when in truth she has a photographic memory.
As Yoru, she is silent and efficient, preferring to listen than to speak, and when she is forced to, she will in the minimal number of words. Preferring to work from the shadows, she'll be in, do her work, and be out again before anyone realises she's been there.
Bio: On the front, Rin Yamano is the daughter of the Executive of Yamahoshi electronics, a firm based in Sapporo, Japan, however, the women in her family were trained as kunoichi for centuries, and although their work has been restricted to stopping the occasional wanted from escaping the country, they had been working in the shadows since before the ban on bushido.
Since the group's greatest fear was to see the corruption within Gotham escape into other areas, Rin was sent in under the guise of a business venture and some charity work while she spends her nights doing what Gotham itself seems currently incapable of doing as the mysterious Yoru.
Special Abilities: Considerable speed, strength and agility for her frame, photographic memory, accuracy, and hacking
Weapons: Yoru's key weapons are throwing needles, some of which are coated in a powerful sedative, shuriken, twin metal fans, and a whip. On top of this is a wide range of tools she uses to gather information. Her mode of transport is a customised black motorbike.

Name Jennifer 'Jenna' Montgomery
Age: Twenty-three.
Gender: Female.
Personality: When she was younger, Jenna was known to be the defender of the weak and often beat up the bullies. Of course, that is to say that she has a strong sense or right and wrong; but more importantly, she rarely ever changes her mind once it's made up. She's completely cautious when meeting new people since it is Jenna's belief that trust should be gained and then maintained. Though once you're one of her friends, she guards you to the best of her ability; enemies on the other hand, are few and far between for Miss Montgomery as it seems her wrath is something terrible. She's known to be quite pleasant in company though, but can be colder to her enemies than an arctic tundra in a way all her own.
Bio: It's actually a well known fact that Jenna is to take over Edward Technology when her father dies, though Jenna herself rarely ever makes a point of it. She's grown up in a rather plush world only to find the facade ripped away on her eighteenth birthday to find that the streets of Gotham City were in a horrid state. Had she really been so blind to it all before? Ever since this rude awakening on her eighteenth birthday Jenna has taken to studying martial arts in addition to business management and her other assorted classes. However, it's just recently that she's stepped out at night as someone other than Jennifer Montgomery, daughter of Edward Montgomery, CEO of Edward Technology.
Who does she night light as now? Well, to be quite honest she hasn't come up with a set name for herself yet, currently she's night lighting as Libra which seemed terribly appropriate since Libra is also known as balance. And in Jenna's opinion Gotham is in desperate need of some.
Special Abilities: Jenna's known to be an--almost--expert at several different styles of martial arts and often uses her past cheerleading abilities in place of gymnastic skills. Otherwise she's a sure shot with most rifles and handguns.
Weapons: Two seven foot long silver chains--one worn on each hip--the one worn on her left hip is barbed while the one on her right isn't, an eleven inch bowie knife usually worn in her boot, a Colt M1911 worn inside her jacket, her fists, and the rarely brought out shotgun. There's rifles at home, but there's yet to be an occasion for them.
Appearance: An average day. But a thrilling night.
Side: Goody two-shoes.

Name: Jenise Mueller
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Personality: Fueled by the curiousity of what others think, she puts her research before herself. She is cold and heartless to those she doesn't know, but to those close to her, she shows her true colors.
Bio: Jenise was born and raised in Gotham in the inner ring. Her parents were very sucessful clothes outfitters and had raised their daughter to take on the family business. But she had no interest in such things; her heart lay in the fictional science of psychohistory. At the age of ten, she read Isaac Asimov's 'Foundation' series and began to make his science into a reality.
One day, being fed up with her parents, she left the inner ring to live in the slums, where she used the rest of her money to buy equipment to help with her calculations. She is currently trying to figure out who the Batman is...
Special Abilities: Great hacking skills and is able to predict where people will be.
Weapons: When out and about, she usually conceals a gun in her trenchcoat.

+The Bad Guys
Name The Joker
Age: Thirty Four… ish?
Gender: Male
Personality: Completely manic, The Joker strikes fear and chaos into Gotham with a single grin. One could say that his personality is explosive; very changeable. One minute he can appear calm and the next he’s blowing up a hospital, laughing hysterically. It appears that everything is just one big joke to him; falling off a high building? Funny. Electric shocks? Funny. Beaten up by Batman? Absolutely hilarious! It’s terrifying that nothing seems to be able to anger him, make him cry; that the only emotion he can feel is ecstasy. The crimes he commits are all for laughs, a big joke that no-one else gets, though considering the way the crime rate in Gotham is rising because of it, he seems to be trying to explain it in the most sadistic ways possible.
Bio: No-one’s really sure how The Joker came to be - his varying stories make it incredibly difficult, not just for Gotham but for himself. He tells so many lies and has so many memories that he finds it hard to keep track of who he is, or rather was. Perhaps his father did give his the scars, maybe it was his own doing, maybe he was mugged, maybe he had an accident at work. Whatever happened to him drove him completely insane, and provoked him to lead a, frankly, hedonistic lifestyle, but one that he knows is sure to send out a clear message to all of Gotham.
When… whoever he was first became the Joker, he made a living committing small crimes against other criminals, using his intelligence as his main weapon. Apparently, small crimes were frustrating him, and his plans became larger and more complex. He eventually became utterly fixated on the Batman, especially after a run-in with the caped crusader while looking for Harvey Dent. He continued to test the bat, making it part of his larger plan to thrust Gotham into chaos. However, he made a small error in judgement during one of his “social experiments” and he was subsequently captured and sent to Arkham Asylum, where he would put his manipulative side to use in creating Harley Quinn, who would become his inescapable “partner-in-crime“, and instrumental in his next escape.
Special Abilities: He is of genius-level intellect, and is a capable fighter. He also seems to be manipulative, which gains him his thugs and assistants.
Weapons: Knives. And lint. And dynamite, and gunpowder, and gasoline! He seems to have a penchant for grenades and various other explosive devices. It also appears that the bigger the weapon, the better. Rumour has it that he may be developing a new type of poison, but so far no evidence has been found.
Appearance: The Joker
Side: I’d say he’s evil, though he really has an entire side to himself.
Other: I’m afraid I just couldn’t decide which Joker to use, so I kind of manipulated the Nolanverse Joker’s story. So it’s a little The Killing Joke, a little The Dark Knight.
Username: The Lilac Pligrim
Name: Harley Quinn; formerly Harleen Quinzel.
Age: Mid-twenties to early thirties. (Wild guess.)
Gender: Female.
Personality: Although she hides her true nature behind a mask of playfulness, the Joker's moll and frequent accomplice, Harley Quinn, is almost as unpredictable and deadly as her infamous boss. Whilst her true personality has been subjugated by the Joker, beneath it all Harley remains a sweet, lovable person.
Bio: Born Harleen Francis Quinzel, Harley grew up in Gotham City. Before she could even blink an eye, she was a student at Gotham City University, where she dreamed to one day be a pop psychologist.
She won a gymnastic scholarship but still had that burning desire to earn a degree in psychology. Harleen never really earned great grades in that field, even though she tried her hardest. Crushed by her low markings, she seduced her professor into changing her grade to a perfect score, which was the highest grade of that year's students.
Harleen chose to intern at Gotham City's Arkham Asylum for the criminally insane because she dreamed of crafting a tell-all book about criminal mystique. There she met Dr. Joan Leland, who made Harleen feel comfortable in her new environment. She taught her everything she would need to know about the building, the doctors, and more importantly, the inmates. Only one inmate had Harleen totally fixated: the Joker, Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime.
When returning back to her office after a long day at work, she found a rose on her desk addressed to her from the asylum's very own cackling menace. Shocked, Harleen approached him, asking how he brought the rose into her office. Sporting a grin, he told her that he put it there and he loved her name. It reminded him of Harlequin, the classic French clown character of Commedia dell'Arte.
She pleaded with Dr. Leland for over three months to set up a session with the Joker. Once she succeeded in her begging, she studied all his tricks and gimmicks and felt she had read all the research that was needed to analyze him. Harleen entered the room, ready to hear anything, until the Ace of Knaves hit her with something that would throw her off course. He informed her of his abusive father and also torments from Batman. Harley had never realized all the torture that this poor soul had to endure.
As the young Dr. Quinzel checked up on him a few more times, she noticed that she had fallen in love with the Joker. When the Caliph of Clowns escaped from Arkham, Harleen went insane with worry. She read up on all his capers in the local Gotham newspaper, until he had been brought back to the asylum beaten to a pulp. Harleen's mind snapped in two. Any sanity that was left had been destroyed and she ran out of the asylum frantically screaming and crying.
She rushed to a nearby costume shop and stole various supplies to make herself over to her own persona to help her the Joker escape from Arkham once again, so they could live happily together. She remade herself into Harley Quinn, the Joker's obsessed moll and playmate. Harleen Quinzel was no more and Harley Quinn had taken her place.
Harley Quinn remains the Joker's special pet and self-appointed girlfriend. She does everything in her power to protect her boss, who she believes loves her. As a trademark, the Mistress of Mayhem and Mirth recites ridiculously witty lines to impress her Joker.
Special Abilities: She is immune to Ivy's poisons, and is an excellent gymnast. These abilities have been enhanced by Poison Ivy.
Weapons: Harley wields a grab-bag of nefarious novelties. When on solo crime sprees, she is often accompanied by her two pet laughing hyenas, Bud and Lou.
Appearance: Harley Quinn
Side: Evil.
Username: Violently Vicious
Name Victoria Dawson A.k.a. Nitemare
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Personality: Victoria is quiet, not shy, just quiet. She is easily annoyed, and when she is annoyed, she won't think twice about killing you. Victoria often does jobs for the mob. She has made many friends and enemies within the mob. Although she prefers to work alone, Victoria has been know to have an accomplice for certain jobs. Victoria has no interest in making herself known to the citizens of Gotham. She is happy as long as she is killing.
Wrath? Now that was something Victoria was well acquainted with. She was known to just suddenly lash out at people for simple things. Maybe they looked at her the wrong way, maybe they said something she didn't agree with, maybe they just passed by. Anyone that knew Victoria knew to be careful around her, other wise they might end up dead.
Victoria's one weakness? As good as she was, she wasn't the best. She wasn't the strongest person in the mob. She was quick, but there were plenty of people who were more quick than her. She was clever, but not the cleverest. Her aim was good, but not the best. So, she knows who she should and who she shouldn't pick a fight with. Although, if she were to get angry enough, all of this wouldn't matter to her and she could get into a fight with someone that she knows she couldn't possibly win against. This hasn't happened so far, and she hopes that it never does.
Bio: Victoria was declared a Sociopath at the age of 17 after she murdered her parents and sister. Before that, she was a straight A student at her high school and planning on majoring in Chemistry in college. She was quite and shy, hardly ever raising her voice. She let her anger brew inside of her until she finally snapped and took a butcher knife to her parents family. After the murder she was sent to Arkham. There, she was once again very quiet, only giggling or saying something to herself every now and then. She escaped during the 'incident' with Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul.
After the escape of hundreds of psychotic criminals, Victoria hid in the shadows of the slums of Gotham. After the whole incident blew over, she emerged from the slums and began working for the mob. She learn how to use a gun expertly, how to hold it properly and aim better. Recently one of her mob jobs went wrong and she is now running from the mob.
Special Abilities: Victoria possesses no super hero qualities, although she is quick witted and even though she didn't complete high school, she learned a great deal in Arkham.
Weapons: Various Guns and Daggers

She will occasionally use explosives.

Name Kythe Regaliant ; Veil
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Personality:Veil has a rather strange personality, in that she is most often in a state of semi-consciousness, preferring to avoid actually paying attention to the world around her. She tends to silently observe situations, reacting when she sees it as either beneficial or possibly entertaining to herself. On occasion she does fully wake up and pay attention to what's going on. When she does, she proves to be incredibly smart, and capable of focusing with an almost obsessive nature on a task. Though she does seem to favor being alone, Veil will follow and stay close to anyone who she sees as being useful, or seems interesting to her. Once she grows bored however, or sees someone more interesting, she will walk away from them, holding no ties of loyalty. Until she sees reason to at least somewhat trust someone, she tends not to speak to people.
Bio: As a child, Veil moved to Gotham with her father after her mother died due to illness. For a time life seemed good, at least as far as veil was concerned. However in order to make living easier, her father made a few deals with some of the seedier characters of the city.
When Veil was 13, she came home to find a pair of men threatening her father, who owed them a large amount of money. Unnoticed by the small group, Veil hid in the closet, where she was still able to see what was going on. There, she witnessed the men beat her father to death, before stealing a few things of value and exiting the home. For some time Veil did not move from her hiding spot, in a state of shock from what she'd seen. It was only when the sound of police sirens came she moved, not heading to the officers, but running from the house.
Eventually she was picked up and brought to an orphanage. For a little under a year, she stayed there, occasionally staying with families though it never worked out. Veil showed a lack of ability to connect with any of the families, and often left on her own. She finally decided to leave the orphanage and took off to live on her own in the city, taking refuge in an abandon fireworks factory. In order to survive, she has taken to stealing things that she needs or that interest her including a hedgehog named Zleiter-Blitz, and occasionally performing on the sidewalks to earn a bit of money.
Special Abilities: Veil is incredibly intelligent, bordering on genius as well as being highly observant and able to pick up on things that might normally go amiss. In addition, likely due to her silent and somewhat disconnected nature, Veil is skilled at going unnoticed by people, unless she does something to draw attention to herself, or they are more observant or aware of their surroundings.
Weapons: A pair of butterfly knives, spark bombs, magnesium wire, various lighters.
Appearance: Veil stands at 5'0 even, her skin fair. She has a lithe form, appearing a bit underweight. Her hair is colored a dark sandy sort of brown and normally tied back by a black ribbon. Her eyes which are colored slate gray are heavy lidded, giving her a half-asleep appearance. Her typical outfit consists of a pair of dark jeans, a long-sleeved shirt with wide belled sleeves colored a dark shade of gray. Around her waist, she wears nine long scarves, colored white black and gray, all twisted into a long braid. The ends of each hang around the back of her waist, extending to just below her knees. She carries a black and army green messenger bag that contains her few weapons, along with a set of runes and several notebooks. She wears a long necklace with a silver disc depicting the rune Thurisaz on it.
Side: Evil, though if she chooses to follow a good person for a time, she will temporarily behave as a 'good guy'.

Name Bane
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Personality: Bane generally reacts in a manner that is calm in collective and rarely shows signs of emotion even in stressful situations. However Bane purposely erects this wall of protection to mask his true thoughts.
His intellect much like his strength is something to be feared and this is just in his normal condition. The level of threat is increased once Bane draws upon the power of “Venom” though his intellect is reduced a bit due to the strain of muscle which puts pressure on his skull the difference is rarely noticeable.
People commonly misjudge Bane by his appearance and think of him has a raging brute but generally he is seldom in nature. Yet his ability to kill without question is something people would associate with a monster.
Bane acts within the world of his own ideals and generally ignores rules placed within the real world some would refer to him as vigilantly.
Bio: Years of torture and forced experimentation have left a shadow of a man. Bane at the age of eight was forced to serve the life sentence of his father at Santa Prisca prison. Pain took the form of every possible action, yet he made constant attempts to overcome his predicament most which failed however they began to build onto his character.
Overtime the focus and determination began to reflect not only on his body but his mental thought. He became highly intellectual if not being able to defeat day to day opponents through means of knowledge he would settle with his fist.
Bane ultimately establishes himself as the "king" of Peña Duro prison. The prison's controllers take note and, eventually, force him to become a test subject for a mysterious drug known as Venom, which had killed all other subjects. It nearly kills him at first, but he survives and finds its effects enhance his physical strength, although he needs to take it every 12 hours (via a system of cables pumped directly into his brain) or he would suffer debilitating side-effects.
He then is sold as a weapon to Ra's al Ghul who begins to train him. At first Bane show constant arrogance and signs of rebellion do to his disrupted psyche. Ra's al Ghul takes time and never gives up on the now disrupted 18 year old. He eventually breaks through the wall and finds the mere shell of lost innocent boy.
Bane overtime comes to highly respect Ra’s and even show emotions toward the man. to Ra's al Ghul pleased by Bane skill and diligence offers him to be heir to his empire and if anything should happen take his place as a member of the League of Shadows.
Bane however rejects this proposal and reasons with Ra’s telling him that he must track down his father and settle the rest of his demons….
Present day….
Bane somewhere in Rome still tracking his father receives a call from Talia's letting him know that Ra’s is indeed dead and she is now the heir to his empire and a member of the league of shadows and is requesting his assistance in the destruction of gotham city.
