Aiden didn't seem upset that she had freaked out and spilled noodles everywhere, then smooshed them onto him as well. In fact, he'd taken everything quite well considering, and even made a joke about the spontaneity of the moment. Angel's lips curled into a soft smile and she nodded her head in response. "Thank you" she said softly after he'd helped her clean up most of the mess. The girl faced him, eager for his answer about her proposed ghost hunt. At first, he seemed to be processing the idea and she pressed some of her purple locks from her face nervously. It was stupid… it was a stupid idea to ask him and she probably should have just waited for Toby. Biting her lip softly, she could feel the uncomfortable sting of tears biting at her eyes each time she blinked. When Aiden spoke, however, he set her mind at ease and a wide smile took hold of her lips. "OH!!" she squealed excitedly, reaching out to grasp her hand in his own and tug him towards the path that led to her Mansion and family's Estate.

While they walked, Angel finally released his hand, although it wasn't because she'd realized that she was being a little too touchy. She'd found a few remnants of noodles and was busy picking them from the front of her dress as she walked along and mauled over her counterpart's question. How did one go about catching a ghost? Frowning softly, she bit her lip again in thought. "Well…. he usually just comes out whenever I'm home" she said softly, feeling as though even talking about the spirit would bring him to life right in front of them. "But maybe we could put out some …. some peanut butter? Or even some playing cards…" she continued, obviously not making much sense - but there was little sense to make in a ghost hunt such as this after all.

The pathway narrowed and she took the lead, keeping a few overgrown branches from hitting her companion in the face as they passed them. Then, as they broke through the last of the forest, her Mansion loomed overhead like a creepy omen. It wasn't always this creepy. In fact, at one point, the paint had been in perfect condition; not peeling and aged, and the place didn't have a single broken window like it did now. Of course, those windows were all located on the floors she didn't dare frequent. Leading Aiden up the slightly crumbling steps, she walked through her open door - literally, wide open - and spread her arms out lightly with a smile. "Welcome to Casa d'Monte!" she stated excitedly before padding towards her fish tank.

"Oh! Here are the Blossoms!! There's a lot of them, this one is Blossom #245. I was thinking about giving you Blossom #367 and Blossom #41. They both haven't been getting along with the others lately~" she chattered excitedly, tapping at the glass to point out each fish out of what did seem like hundreds before turning and watching Aiden carefully. Her house was a bit of a mess and her brows tugged together as she realized that fact. It was so seldom that she had any visitors, she sometimes forgot to keep it as immaculate as her mother would have liked. "Um… would you like anything to drink? I have some … some wine, maybe we could have a bit while we hunt for the Ghostie. I like to call him Ghostie… but I'm sure that's not really his name" she asked, then explained as she sauntered away from the main room into the kitchen and pulled out a bottle of red wine her parents had kept for special occasions. She supposed this could be one, but she would have to watch how much she drank since she had to work later.

Padding back out with two glasses; one rather full and one with half the liquid, she handed Aiden the full glass, then scurried back into the kitchen and started clattering around it looking for supplies to catch her ghost. This time when she came back, her arms were full and several things were balanced beneath her chin. "Okay… peanut butter, cookies, crackers, a sweater, cards, a few gold, and a spatula…" she listed each item off as she let it fall down onto the couch and then glanced up at Aiden, a wary look in her eye. "We …. we have to go up the elevator onto f-floor four to find him, though" she stuttered, gulping softly afterwards as she wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt at some comfort.

It was sweet how excited Angel could get, really. That was one of the surprising things that Aiden liked about her, one of the things he was surprised to like in anybody. It was rare that Aiden surrounded himself with company like Angel, whose name suited her far too well. Whether it was because he sometimes found “good” people to be annoying martyrs out to save him, or because he didn’t deserve to be in their company, he wasn’t quite sure. But Angel was a refreshing and kind, not at all annoying.

She was so excited when Aiden agreed to come with her on her ghost hunt, and it surprised Aiden to be able to make someone that happy. He grunted a bit, however, doing his best to hide his pain as she grabbed his hand and dragged him down the street. Since arriving in New Aurora, he hadn’t shown anyone the huge bruise on his right side. For whatever reason, it was the last of his injuries, and it wouldn’t go away. For weeks now, it had lingered all through his travels and his first week in town. But he refused to go to the clinic. Any medical professional would start to ask questions and Aiden didn’t want to answer them. Nobody needed to know where he was coming from and who he was hiding from.

Once he righted himself, found better footing, the pain got much milder until it wasn’t so very bad at all.

Aiden managed a grin as Angel explained her plan to catch this ghost. “Does this ghost really like peanut butter?” he asked, thinking it pretty funny that someone from beyond the grave might have a craving for peanut butter so great that he just couldn’t let go of this realm after death. Angel kept her voice low, as though she was scared he might appear right in front of her at that very moment. Maybe Aiden was a little nervous of the same, but he was more excited at the prospect than anything. It would be the first nearly thrilling thing he’d experienced since getting to town. He hadn’t even gotten laid yet.

When they got to Angel’s house, he was a little less excited and a little more spooked. It was a spooky place after all, and it was quite large, especially comparing it to Aiden’s tiny cottage. He followed Angel to the fish tank and grinned again. “Ah! Well, if they don’t get along with others, they’re probably meant to be mine,” he said, excitement restored. Angel had offered him some of her fish when Aiden revealed that he’d never had a pet before. Then Angel was offering him some wine. “Yeah, I guess a glass or two wouldn’t hurt.” He smirked, thinking about how much alcohol he’d be drinking at the bar later that night. “You should put a glass out for Ghostie. He probably just wants a good drink.”

Accepting the glass from her, he took a sip. “This is pretty good stuff! I should have guessed since you live in a ******** mansion, but I’m used to the cheap stuff,” he said with a laugh. Thinking about it, he realized that he hadn’t really had all that much wine. Most of the guys he drank with simply loaded him up with vodka, thinking they could take advantage of him—while really he was taking advantage of them. He’d realized that men liked thinking they were in on some big secret, some big joke. He was the same.

Looking at all of the stuff Angel had brought down with her, Aiden couldn’t tell if they were going to catch a ghost or make some delicious treat and have a slumber party. Either way, he didn’t mind. Then she mentioned the elevator. “Figures you have an elevator in this kind of place. Alright, girlie. Lead the way,” he said, smirking.

                                            OOC:

Eyelids opened slowly as the male stretched out in his bed. It was borrowed and bought, like mostly everything else in his ever-changing life. Nothing was ever too constant for too long, something that Caelum seemed all too accustomed to. Hell, he even thrived in the environment. Pushing himself up, his fingers entangled in his dirty blonde locks and a yawn escaped his half-open mouth. How long had it been since he'd slept in a bed? They'd been travelling for weeks now and the cot in the train really wasn't that comfortable. The boat-seat to this place hadn't been either and they'd arrived only late last night. By the time his body hit this mattress, it was late and he was already half-asleep. But today, today they'd get to take it all in.

His body was barely clothed, a pair of tight boxers adorning his tall, slender, and above all - pale body. His muscles were each clearly defined, but not overbearing. Without his stage-makeup the boy looked a little more normal, but one could sense that there was something different about him - and he never tried to hide that fact. His grey orbs held a wary look as he padded down the hallway toward the room he thought was his partner's. Not in the romantic sense, of course. Aspen was many things to him, but lover was not one of them. She was, though, very much his other half. He fully and unconditionally trusted the woman; the one person in the world he'd given that loyalty to, it seemed. Stepping in front of her open door casually, he leaned in the doorway and let his frame fall forward, clinging to it with his fingertips in a carefree manner.

"Aspie, it's time~" he cooed, his voice gentle and soft as he spoke; although it had the slight tinge of dark undertones that sometimes unnerved people. It was as though he could never shake the draw that "circus performer" seemed to hold to his personality. Perhaps he really was cut out for the circus alone. The girl was still under a mound of her blankets and in a moment he'd released himself and dove toward her bed, forcing himself into the air before leaning forward until his palms contacted the ground. A quick shove and his feet hit her mattress, his body nearly falling forward until he caught himself with a quick calculation of his balance. He appeared to hover over her for a moment before he hopped off her bed and tugged at her covers. "Rise and shine, this train leaves in 3 minutes" he smirked, tussling her hair before finally sauntering casually from her room.

About five minutes later, they were there: The site of this year's Big Top. *Heave! Heave! Heave!* Instructions shouted by the rest of the circus crew around them as they pulled the large tent up. Of course, they couldn't all stay under the big-top, as it were. Caelum had been put up at a house he was renting for their stay, along with his aerial partner, Aspen, and a few other performers. He didn't mind living with her, since she was one of the only people he could truly trust. She'd never dropped him, or left him hanging; and he had always done the same for her. The male's foggy, grey orbs scanned the area in front of him, watching the white and red striped tent billow with life as it was hoisted high into the air to house their entire, wonderful circus. The air seemed to buzz with life and he couldn't help but reach down and entwine his fingers with Aspen's, giving her hand a quick squeeze before letting go. They'd been practicing some new stuff and this was just the place to showcase their talent. Plus, these people were all his family and the fact that they were currently setting up in a new town was absolutely invigorating. A new place meant a new start and new faces and no preconceived notions of him, or at least, he hoped for that much.

Finally turning away from the tent in front of him, the male began to lead his partner toward the town square aimlessly. He didn't have much of an agenda for today, mainly explore the new town and practise their act for the Flower Festival in the next few days. There was plenty of time for practise, though. His feet took him further from the tent and closer to the town's square, his orbs eagerly taking in each face he passed and each modest store front. He always wondered what it would be like to stay in such a simple place, but knew he wouldn't be able to make it in one place for long. It just wasn't in his character. He was a free spirit and had to be able to, ironically enough, spread his wings and fly. Tugging a piece of salted toffee from his pocket, he popped it into his mouth and enjoyed the bitter and sweet taste as it dissolved and spread over his tongue.

Glancing at his counterpart, he offered her a piece with a wiry grin, spreading his arms out widely in front of her. "Here we are; New Aurora!" he shouted loudly, his voice mimicking that of their Big Top announcer. It was easy to be this way with Aspen, but when others were involved the male usually kept to himself and was a shade more reserved. Aspen just brought the best, the most natural, out of him. Although, he felt so good about this place that he nearly wanted to be himself the entire time, as nothing more than a social experiment. Only time could tell what these people were like, but he'd at least try to make the best of this new start … until he was given another in the next town they moved to.

where?; Our rented home, then the Big Top, then town square.
what?; Finally exploring New Aurora with Aspen!
                                        with?; Aspen
                                        mood?; curious, enthused

There she was, on the stage. White tutu, feathers in her hair. Her long blonde hair pulled back into a bun. There was noise coming from everywhere. Music. Tchaikovsky. The director yelling directions, criticisms, insults, anything to get a rise out of her, some passion, some anger. Nothing. She felt nothing. She couldn’t see anything. Everything was hidden in the darkness of the auditorium, but she knew they were all out there watching, waiting for her to fall, to break. The tutu goes from white to black, her face changes. Dark eyeliner. Blonde strands fall to make way for black. Her vision is given some reprieve, for in the darkness of that theater, she could make out one face, her mother’s, then another, her father’s.

Gray orbs opened to meet the matching eyes of Caelum, her partner and friend. One of the only people she trusted, and certainly the only one she trusted when hoisted into the air by nothing but silk and her own refusal to give gravity any sort of regard. He’d obviously been trying to wake her up for the past few minutes. “Time already?” she asked, looking over at her clock. She’d had that kind of sleep that left her feeling as those time had skipped over her. The second she closed her eyes, it seemed they were open once again. Anything that came in between those eyelid movements was forgotten for the moment.

At Cae’s comment about three minutes, she scoffed. “Like you would leave without me,” she responded.

Pushing herself out of bed, Aspen forced herself to get ready. She was usually quite quick when she got prepared for the day. This day was no exception. In minutes, she was out of her pajamas and in a short black dress with patterned tights. She paired it with black boots before attempting to tame her short black hair and apply some makeup to her face. Somehow, she managed to do both without doing too much damage.

It seemed like no time at all before they were at the site of the tent, watching workers heave it up. This was her real home, this tent. It was the only place she ever felt any kind of love or passion or acceptance. And Caelum was the perfect partner to partake in such feelings with. He was talented, a bit more experienced than her as he was just a bit older, but he never made her feel this way. Aspen had no feelings beyond the strongest friendship for him, though many had speculated that they were lovers. It simply wouldn’t have been right for them to be so. And neither of them had ever even had to breach the subject to come to this agreement. Caelum was her other half, another gray-eyed soul making his way through this murky world.

They moved quickly to the town square, Caelum speaking excitedly in the voice of the ring leader. “It seems like a little town, but I think we can do well in a place like this,” she said with a small smile. She wasn’t normally too talkative either. It was much more her style to let others do the talking and to follow along than to really actively participate. But with Caelum and most of the other performers at the circus, it was different.

A young woman had awoken to the sound of her clock's alarm bell that was set for fairly early in the morning. It wasn't unusual for the brunette to rise early, especially for the new year. With a small yawn and a rubbing of her eyes, the young woman known as Anju sat up before heading to her bathroom to perform her usual morning routine of showering, brushing her teeth, dressing in her favorite outfit of a red chiang-piao style top with long sleeves and a long, light pink skirt made of silk that covered most of her legs. After blow drying her long brown hair just enough to where she wouldn't get odd looks, Anju had placed the finishing touch on her head; her treasured hair clip that donned a rather large flower. Anju normally liked to wear real flowers in her hair, but they were still in the early spring stages after winter passed, and that season was less than kind to most flora. Anju tried to the best of her ability to style her hair a bit more before hearing the main phone ringing downstairs. Warily the girl sighed, rushing with the last few strokes of the bristled brush through her thick brown hair before quietly making her way downstairs. Once she made it downstairs, the petite brunette picked up the phone only to hear her mother on the phone. "Hello sweetie, how are you doing this morning? Have you eaten yet?"

It was odd all right, usually her parents had tendencies to be very strict and a stickler for proper etiquette and didn't favor public displays of affection, even verbal... unless it meant Anju attracting a possible husband. Anju hesitantly rubbed the back of her neck in though, biting her lip until it reddened before she softly expressed, "Hello mother. Oh, uh.... fine, I suppose. Not yet, I just woke up---" just then her mother intervened with a quick, stern clearing of the throat then retorted "Now dear, you should really be contemplating your future there at New Aurora. You've been there for two years now, and we've been very patient. We just want what's best for you dear." Anju sighed softly at her mother's prickly behavior, although she was used to it by now. 'A wonderful way to start of the new year indeed... I still need to check on Porter before I get too busy.' the girl continued to rub the same spot on her neck with her right hand while using her left to place on her hip, the phone now safely perched between her head and shoulder. "But mother, I know you want me to find a husband and settle down, but I just don't think that will happen anytime soon." there was an awfully painful silence between the two women, and even though Anju couldn't see her mother's face, she could already tell that she had that certain look on her face of disapproval. "All right, all right, I'll figure something out. I must be going now, mom. I've got..."she paused briefly, thinking that if she told a little white lie that maybe, just maybe, her parents would ease up on pressuring her into finding a man. "...a date, today I mean. Goodbye now!" Anju immediately pressed the disconnect button before leaning against the wall, running her hand through her hair in an attempt to soothe herself.

'Uwah... I know it's a little white lie, but now that I think about it... they'll most likely demand a picture to send as proof... Who can I call to go out and spend time with without seeming too awkward or forced?' the brunette tapped her chin several times before pulling out her simple black cellphone, opening it up and sending a text to one of her closest friends.

Another day, another hangover. Man, he really needed to stop drinking at work so much. It was hard though, when the patrons were buying him drinks as fast as he was serving them. He could do his job drunk, although he knew Allison really didn't enjoy when he did. He could schmooze her easy enough, though, and almost always wound up getting his way. Right now, he wished he hadn't. Groaning, the male rolled out of bed and padded lazily toward the bathroom where he took a long, refreshing shower. That helped the pounding in his head slightly, but his stomach was growling and turning against him by the minute. Padding out of the bathroom in his towel, the buzzing of his phone on his nightstand alerted him to a text. Plucking up his phone, he flipped it open and read his friend, Anju's greeting with a grin.

The girl was slightly socially awkward, but it wasn't her fault. He hadn't been so nice to her when they first met, but he'd been apologizing and paying for his behaviour ever since. Anju was just misunderstood, but he liked to think he'd taken enough time to fully understand her now. He typed a quick message and sent it back to her,

Happy that his day off now had a bit of purpose, he sauntered over to his dresser and pulled out his swim trunks and a white wife beater. Since he was just going to the beach there was no point in dressing up, and it was certainly warm enough to take a little dip in the ocean and sit in the warm sand. Running his hands through his hair until he'd "styled" it into a messy look, he left his room at the Inn and made his way toward the exit. His feet led him toward the beach quickly, his hand reaching up to shield his eyes from the sun that only seemed to augment his pounding headache.

He'd arrived at the beach before her, so he worked his way through the sand toward the shoreline, dipping his toes into the water before recoiling slightly. Alright, it was a little cooler than he'd anticipated. Oh well. Padding back up the beach, he disappeared into a little grove of trees before coming out with a few bright coloured flowers he'd picked for his friend. She always enjoyed flowers and he knew she'd likely already be wearing one in her hair that he could add to. Plus, it would make her feel special, something that she didn't get enough from the other males who she seemed to be interested in. Porter rolled his eyes at her choices in men as he contemplated them, dropping down into the sand with the flowers still held in his hands. His steely gaze followed the horizon, watching the waves rise and fall like the ocean's own living heartbeat. For a moment, the male concentrated on his breathing, exhaling and inhaling while trying to coax his alcohol-induced hangover away. When that failed, he pulled out a pack of vanilla flavoured cigarillos and lit one up, puffing the nicotine into his lungs and exhaling a soft sigh to accompany the smoke that eased the pain in his head ever so slightly. "Ahhh…" he breathed, dropping back in the sand with the cigarette dangling from his lips.

The little Nature Spirit awoke in one form, nestled amongst the branches of her favourite oak tree in the middle of the forest surrounding New Aurora. Bare toes wriggled against the hard bark that her other forms was dangling from, impatiently by the looks of it. The work load around the forest had been increasing and lately it seemed she spent more of her time there working than exploring the new town. A soft, squeaky sigh fell from her lips as her more awake form flung itself off of the branch, flipping through the air with ease until she fell into the arms of another welcoming tree. Or at least, that's what it would have looked like to any onlooker. As a Nature Spirit, Likki was one with the trees in a way no other creature could ever experience. They were her parents, her family, her everything. Running along a thin branch with the practised ease of an expert, Mielikki glided from treetop to treetop appearing like nothing more than a gust of wind. The only tell-tale sign of her presence there was her soft, cooing giggle that washed through the trees in her wake. There were no words to describe the feeling that running above the trees gave the tiny spirit.

Today was especially exciting. Today was the day she was meeting her friend to show him something remarkable. Normally, Likki was forced to conceal herself beneath a cloak, and even her best friend had never seen her without it -- to her knowledge. Well, today that changed. Today she would shed the cloak and be herself around him, her true form carefully concealed using a magical enchanted pendant that the town's Witch had sold to her. Likki had been waiting for what felt like years for that one more chance to find the only other person who could, perhaps, experience her secret world with her. So far, Soki had been so kind to her and … well, she was hoping he'd be the one. After all, and despite her best efforts, he'd already invaded her heart.

Stopping to gaze out at the clutter of buildings that made up the town, she almost didn't notice her other half until she had already slithered around her and placed her head onto her shoulder. Reaching down to her side, Likki grasped their hands together and the two appeared to seamlessly dissolve into one another, vines growing out of her torso and blooming into brilliant flowery ropes around her. Pushing some of her short, emerald green hair from her face, Mielikki let herself sink down from the treetops, lifted elegantly down to the ground by one of the tree's branches. Placing her fingertip to her lip, she kissed it lightly before running it along the branch as she stepped away from it with a soft smile. "Maybe today will be my lucky day" she whispered to herself, the trees around her dancing lightly in agreement. "You think so too?" she giggled happily, clasping her hands together in front of her. Her form was small and pale, wrapped in vines and leaves alone. Clothing was only something she learned of on one of her trips into town and it had been learned the hard way. But, it didn`t really bother Mielikki at all - given her naive, innocent nature. Where she came from, the world and the people within it were good.

Glancing up into the thick trees, Mielikki spotted a soft blur of white and her smile grew wider. Her best friend in the world, besides Soki, she supposed. Pursing her pink lips gently, she whistled a soft call to the bird and watched as he floated down towards her effortlessly. Raising her hand up, she pulled all of her fingers except her index finger into her palm and watched as he landed with ease upon it. Lifting the small Dove to her face, she pressed her cheek against him and giggled softly as he coo`ed and nuzzled her back. "Good morning, precious Artimitis. You better stay here today, I might go into town and I'm not sure it's safe for you there okay?" Likki said, moving through the forest with ease, the bird still perched on her fingertip effortlessly. Mielikki practically glided through the thick woods, soon reaching her hidden tree grove in a matter of moments. Once there, Artimitis took flight once more, whizzing in and out amongst a few bushels of acorns, causing them to rain down around Likki. Immediately, the Nature Spirit extended her arms and started to spin around in the falling acorns, humming a gentle melody to herself as her body began to glow a gentle, translucent light. Vines slithered up from the ground, working their way up her limbs as she spun. Her skin glowed brighter and brighter through the tiny cracks in the vines around her body, her head dropping back and her hair lengthening substantially. The vines seemed to be plucking her very body from the ground and forcing her limbs to grow and stretch as they added several feet onto her height. When she opened her glistening, emerald green eyes once more, she was wearing the odd skin of a human. A Nature Spirit transformed.

Artemitis dropped a crown of blossoms through the air and Likki reached up and plucked it from above her before placing it lightly upon her head. Moving gracefully, albeit slightly more clumsily now, towards one larger acorn tree in the middle of the grove. In it was a tiny cubby, fashioned just for her to store a few precious things. Only she could coax the tree to open it. Reaching inside, she procured the glistening onyx pendant she would wear to conceal her strange, almost lively skin. Growing and moving over her pale skin were hundreds of tiny vines that covered most of her body. Sometimes, they even moved up onto her cheek -- although it was a rare occasion for them to travel so far. As the ring slipped on her finger, the vines appeared to dissolve away completely and Likki stared down at them with an awed smile on her face. "Watch over the forest while I`m gone, okay?" she said softly, nodding once at Artimitis as he glided up through the trees and disappeared to do as she commanded. Then, Mielikki herself disappeared through a row of acorn trees before emerging from some shrubs just outside the forest in a smaller clearing of trees. How it was possible, could only be known by the Nature Spirit -- and the one she'd let inside her grove, she supposed. Thoughts of that being made her heart leap excitedly in her chest. This is where she'd arranged to meet Soki.

Angel pursed her lips softly and tilted her head to the side as she wondered about Aiden's question. Does the ghost really like peanut butter? Finally coming to a conclusion in her own mind, she shrugged her shoulders and blurted, "well, you don't know until you try!" When Aiden suggested they give the ghost a glass of wine, Angel padded back into the kitchen and came out with the bottle cradled in her arms similar to the way in which a child would cradle a baby doll. "I guess we can share…" she mumbled, finally setting the bottle down on the table. Angel giggled at his comment about the wine. "Yeah, my parents had a lot of money.. well, I guess I do now - but I like to work and pretend like I don't!" she shrugged, "there's a whole bunch more of these bottles in the cellar. But I'm too scared to go down there myself" she added.

Glancing down at her ghost hunting supplies, she nodded at Aiden's command for her to lead the way, then bent over and picked up a few things in her arms. "We can try the peanut butter and playing cards, first~ You grab the flashlight" she stated, unscrewing the lid on the jar before tossing it to the side on the floor as she walked toward the elevator with Aiden in tow. Once inside, she pressed the button that would take them to the floor she hadn't set foot on in what felt like years. As the elevator doors closed and the thing lurched upwards, Angel shuddered and then dug into the package of playing cards. "Here, help me with this?" she asked softly, taking one card in one hand before jamming it in the jar and coating it with peanut butter. She did this process a few times, until she had about 10 cards sticking out of the jar.

"Ready?" she asked, a soft glint of excitement in her eye despite her slightly wobbly knees. She was afraid, but enthralled. Reaching down, she grabbed Aiden's hand and held it tightly as the elevator lurched to a stop and made a soft "ding" noise to indicate they'd arrived at their floor. Next, the doors opened, albeit painfully slowly. Tugging her hand from Aiden's, she grabbed a few of the cards and immediately flung them out into the dark hallway, listening as the plopped down onto the floor in turn. "Just wait …" she said, easing her foot out to stop the elevator door from closing, but not enough that she actually stepped into the dust covered hallway in front of them.

After minutes of silence and a few raspy breaths of her own, she finally groaned softly. "He's not coming … he wants us to go in deeper" she whispered, her fear clear in her voice now as her wide, plum colored orbs stared up at the boy beside her. They could do this. She had to be strong. Swallowing, she dared to take a step forward, hugging the peanut butter jar close to her chest as though it would save her. "M-Mister Ghostie?" she called, shuddering as her voice seemed to echo and bounce off of the walls around them. Glancing back at Aiden, she nodded her head to indicate their movement further down the hallway.

Caelum grinned at the girl in front of him, obviously encouraged by her own enthusiasm. "Of course we will, no one has ever seen anything like what we can do" he smiled, reaching down to take her hand in his own and pull her along on their little adventure again. The town seemed a little sleepy, although he figured most of the residents were just going about their every day business. Finally pausing their walk, he glanced at Aspen with a soft smile. "Anything in particular you would like to do today, Aspie?" he asked, glancing over at a nearby tree out of the corner of his eye. Before she could respond, he had already done a somersault over to it, hoisting himself up using the lowest of its branches.

His body was agile, his movements smooth and practiced as he pulled himself up onto the branch. "I want to learn the tightrope" he announced, glancing over at Aspen with that wild look in his eye as he mimicked tightrope walker's movements and started to edge out closer to her along the branch. Right foot, left foot, right foot, left fo-- he was doing well until he lost his balance. His hands shot out to brace himself but before he knew it his body was spiralling out of the tree toward her. "Catch me?" he managed to coo playfully, despite the alarming rate with which the ground was rushing up to meet him. Falling just didn't effect him as much as it did 'normal' people. A last ditch effort sent his hands reaching out toward his partner, fingertips splaying as they neared her own. And with less than a second to spare, their flesh connected, he gripped onto her and slid himself to the side, using his acquired speed to send himself flying through the air. In a simple flip, he'd landed on his feet in front of her.

"Thanks" he breathed, his dark grey eyes staring intently into her own. Sometimes he wondered why the pair bothered to talk at all. They could communicate so well with a simple look, a supportive touch, or gesture. "Aspie… have I ever told you that …" he began, his features softening as he reached out and cupped her face with his hands. "… you complete me~" He'd managed to hold a straight face before his lips quivered and turned into a wide smirk, a trail of laughter following as he broke the contact with his partner and then turned to glance around them. No one had seen the almost-accident, but he was pretty sure it would have looked rather entertaining if someone had.

Scrunching up his face lightly, he chewed on his lip before turning back to the ravenette. "Do you think the Ringleader would get mad if we did some street performances?" he asked, glancing over at the middle of the town's square. "I mean, look at all that space" he smiled, ushering his friend closer to the square. "We could use it as an opportunity to sell some tickets to the show!"

Anju had figured that with Porter, he would say yes to her offer. Very rarely did the man turn her down, especially with the promise of free food. So in order to save herself time, the brunette walked into the kitchen and found that her darling brother Elliot had made her fresh blueberry and chocolate chip muffins and a spinach quiche with turkey sausage. 'Well then, that takes care of half the picnic preparations. I better get some fruit out of the fridge as well to make it more balanced. And maybe some juice and coffee.' nodding to herself, the girl rummaged through the fridge to find a small bundle of fresh cherries and a small honeydew melon that needed to be sliced up. A warm grin formed on her rose petal lips as she picked both out of the fridge and after washing the cherries and drying them off, Anju then proceeded to cut the melon first in halves, then thirds, then finally fourths. The abrupt vibrations of her phone in her pocket made Anju flinch while the large kitchen knife was still in her hand, but she quickly placed it right next to the cutting board in order to read Porter's response. Of course he seemed happy to hear from her, even in the morning.

All right, I'll bring plenty of food if it makes you happy~
The beach? Hm... all right, I'll be there as soon as I can!
I suppose I'll have to bring my swimsuit then, correct?

SEND. It hadn't occurred to the shy brunette that she would even need her swimsuit, but the more she thought about it, the more unsettled her stomach became. Not only because Anju never took the time to learn how to swim, but because of her build, she always had a hard time with tank tops and any other shirt or blouse with a similar cut for... obvious reasons. 'It's a bit early for the beach, but...oh well... I'll just... wear it in case I get wet. I'm sure we won't go too far in the water anyway.' Anju carefully packaged the fruits, muffins and quiche inside a quaint picnic basket, along with a pitcher of orange juice, two plates, two forks and two cups. Once that was said and done, she also started up the coffee machine to brew some fresh hazelnut and pecan ground coffee so she could go back to her room and put on her swimsuit underneath her clothes. Anju carefully took off her undergarments in exchange for her simple, dark blue one piece. Although something horrible happened: there was a certain mark on her neck from a certain coworker that had a certain affiliation with the poor brunette. Her doe-eyes widened as she muttered "Jenjang!! Oh, curse my inability to say 'no' to Miss Lilith..." Anju knew for a fact that Porter would notice and interrogate her on how the hickie got there. And that was something she couldn't let happen. In a desperate attempt to avoid such a situation, the poor girl started to put some concealer on the little spot and even wrapped a small white scarf around her neck, even though her chiang-piao top already had it covered. Her swimsuit on the other hand, wouldn't. 'Oh dear... I hope this concealer is waterproof. Or I will never hear the end of it.'

Anju sighed softly, readjusted her long skirt, then dashed back downstairs to get the coffee into another pitcher and placed carefully into the basket as well. Once she was ready, Anju grabbed the basket and a large blanket then ran out the door. It took her about ten to twelve minutes to walk across the bridge and over to the beach where Porter was at a hastened pace, but no matter how quick she was, the man was already there, sitting in the sand and smoking a cigarette. The brunette rolled her eyes at her dear friend's awful habit, determined to get him to quit one of these days. Nonetheless, she cleared her throat once she was behind him and held the large basket up in front of her petite frame. "I'm here! I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long, Porter. I brought breakfast~!" her sweet voice gingerly chimed, before playfully draping the blanket over his shoulder as an indication that he should be the one to lay it out flat on the sand.

Aiden liked the idea that Angel was simply ready to try anything to catch this ghost, despite not knowing anything. Though most would probably feel discouraged by her lack of know-how, Aiden found it more exciting to go into this without knowing anything, without being sure that they were going to succeed. What was the point of going ghost hunting if there wasn’t any kind of risk? Any kind of fear? When Angel explained that she was very wealthy, wealthy enough that she had a cellar full of this great wine, Aiden grinned. “Well, we should get rid of this Ghostie so you can go into your cellar and get that wine,” he said, taking another sip from his glass.

Heeding Angel’s command, Aiden picked up the flashlight and followed her to the elevator that would take them upwards. Then Angel began coating the playing cards with peanut butter. He didn’t know what reasoning brought her to the conclusion that slathering peanut butter onto a deck of playing cards would help them catch a ghost, but he wasn’t about to argue and began helping her.

By the time they finished, the elevator came to a stop and Angel had his hand in hers. “Ready when you are, boss,” he said with a wink. They stood in the elevator with the door open, and Aiden had a feeling that Angel was already quite nervous or scared. He couldn’t blame her. The place was definitely creepy enough without the ghost. Aiden imagined that he would come up with a ghost—granted there wasn’t a real one already there—if he lived in a place like that. The two of them waited there, Angel’s foot keeping the elevator doors from closing, but nothing seemed to happen.

“Deeper?” Aiden asked, trying his best not to make any dirty jokes. “I’m guessing this guy is pretty picky.” It seemed that way anyway. Aiden’s green eyes glances at Angel and then ahead as they stepped out of the elevator, onto the floor, Angel calling out to the ghost in a wobbly voice. Aiden went for a different tactic. “Hey, Ghostie, or whatever your name is. Come on out. We’ve got peanut butter and playing cards and we’d like a word.” He didn’t know if this was something ghosts responded to. But maybe the key was to be a little forward, maybe a bit forceful.

Then he waited, wondering what would come next.
