Welcome to Gaia! ::

There was a moment when Lily Evans remembered standing on Platform 9 3/4's and boarding the Hogwart's Express. She had just managed to shake off James and his friends. As much as she enjoyed intellectual discussions with Remus...James and Sirius annoyed her...and Peter...well...he was just odd.

Either way she was just on her way from the on board washrooms, having changed into her robes, when a man in a black cloak had appeared in front of her. At first, she'd thought it was Sirius and James playing a trick on her. And then she got a cold feeling, cold and almost blistering.

Pausing a moment, only a moment, she reached for her wand which she usually kept tucked in her knee sock and was about to cast a hex when she felt herself being pulled forward. It was not unlike being thrust across space via Portkey or Floo network...but colder, it was the only way she could describe it.

When she again had her head about her she pulled her wand up and threw out two spells. "Expelliarmus" and "Petrificus Totalus". She caught the wand with one hand even as the cloaked figure fell backwards completely paralyzed where they had fallen. Kneeling forward she pulled the cloak's mask off not recognizing them. Standing she frowned. Something felt...off.

Turning her head to look back down the hall she blinked "when did the train get this colour carpet?" she wondered out loud.
Lynette reached out and took The Quibbler. "Hmm, sounds interesting..." She was actually curious, she had heard about this magazine, but never read it. Everyone always made fun of it, but it seemed some useful things in it.

Lynette flicked it open to the Crumple-Horned Snorkack article and began to read. She thumped her fingers on Thanatos, who peered up at the magazine lazily. Lyn had mixed thoughts as she finished the article, handing it back over to Luna.

"Had any one actually seen a Crumple-Horned Snorkack? They sound like they might have a few magical properties that could be useful if any really exist. Are they any photos, or anything?" Lynette was thinking this was all a joke, but knew she had to listen to all of Luna's stories before she could decide. So Lyn blinked a couple of times and put her hands politely across her lap. She couldn't believe she was sitting her, listening to a first year...
Fred pretended to fall asleep, snoring loudly and pointedly, as George smiled widely.

"It's Muggle fireworks, the Ministry has nothing to do with it," he explained. "But I suppose you're right... this would never do."

Fred awoke suddenly, his wide eyes fixed on his brother. "Blimey, George! You've gone soft!"

"No, I have not... and I'll prove it when we get to Hogwarts." One thought in particular entered the boys' minds.

"Is this the year we're going to send the toilet seat to mum?"

"And the year we send a bludger in Snape's direction?"

"Accidentally," they said in unison.

"I think so, George, my boy." Both of the Twins grinned, tossing Pumpkin Pasties at each other from where they sat. They had both grown bored with the conversation, and were soon exchanging mocking glances with each other.

"Let's go tackle that compartment... I'm sure we can trick any beasties out of there." With a nod and a sly wink to both of the other compartment-dwellers, the Twins gathered their things and headed off.

[[Hiya, peoples! What's going on?]]
((Hello. Luna and Lyn are talking about ehm... well, nargles and Snorkacks on the Hogwarts Express, and Fred and George are planning their yearly mischief. Lily just arrived in present day, and Harry is flying to Hogwarts in the Weasley's flying car with Ron (who is yet unclaimed) because they missed the train.

Luna sat back and watched the window thoughtfully. She shook her head and replied, "There are no photos, but I think my dad has seen them before. He says they're very gentle, and he's got the horn of one mounted at home." She smiled. "A lot of readers of the Quibbler are searching for them as well."

"Someday," she started, "I plan to go with my dad to find them, but he told me we couldn't go until I am older. I can't wait." she smiled out the window--again, day dreaming of this adventure.
Lily shook her head waving her wand and let the cloaked man hover and then she began to walk down the length of the train heading towards the front, where she knew the Prefects cabin was. If this was a Death Eater...how had it gotten on the Hogwart's Express. Keeping her wand out she paused only once to think that this might be a dream...driven insane by a boring summer, and Petunia constantly harassing her for being a freak, and only having freak friends. Well it was enough to make anybody mad in th head!

"Dungbombs" she said once she got to the Prefect cabin. When the door didn't open she frowned. Her free hand pushing into a pocket in her white dress shirt tucked under the grew sweater. Looking at the hand written note that was from Dumbledore informing all prefects of the password she frowned looking at it again, "Dungbombs" still...nothing.
User ImageAthena leaned back in her quiet corner, ignoring Pansy's usual gossip. That's all most people were right now: Gossipers content to talk with little action. People were such hipocrites.

At least I can honestly say I'm nothing like these people, Athena thought. They linger on a fallen lord. I'm already planning for later.

[[Oh, would you put Pansy up as a canon character? She's not massively important, but she is key to Draco's whole persona later on.]]
Assuring that the shelves were well-stocked, Severus Snape shut and locked the potions cupboard. He turned around and scanned the room with keen, set eyes, checking for anything he might have missed. Everything looked ready. His classroom was prepared for the new school year -- for another batch of ungrateful, under-talented students...chief among them, Harry Potter.

Jugding by the end of last term, the era of Harry Potter at Hogwarts was already at a more dangerously eventful level than Snape would have predicted. Though with Potter's inherited knack for causing trouble faster than his keepers could dispense punishments, Snape shouldn't have been surprised. The brat was his own worst enemy. For now..., Snape thought ruefully.

Dismissing his thoughts, Professor Snape entered the corridors to head upstairs for the start-of-term feast.
"If you find anything, let me know..." Lynette looked out the window to the lights of Hogsmeade in the distance.

"Looks like we are almost to Hogwarts, I'd better go get changed," Lyn said as she retrieved her book and put it back inside of her trunk. She pulled out her Slytherin robes and let them fall to the seat. The trunk lid snapped shut with a wave of her wand, and jumped down.

Lynette picked up her robes and Thanatos, "Are you going to change to?." She pulled the compartment door open and stood between the openning.
Jazz watched silently out the window of the Hogwarts Express. She was alone in her compartment and she wondered where her friends were. After a moment or two Jazz's boredom got a hold of her and she decided to take a walk through the hall in search of something to do.

Jazz walked silently through the train hall, sometimes tapping at people's doors to see what would happen. After a minute, two strange, red haired boys ran past her with sly grins on there faces.

Fred and George she thought to herself with a small smile. Jazz caught up with the Lolly Cart and bought a chocolate frog and some Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. She opened the frog and it jumped about the hall frantically.

"Damn, I got Dumbledore again!"
((Hullo everyone! I have dual characters. Jean and Kathie.))

Jean sighed. He was followed his third year sister around the train, her obvious excitement clashing with his collect nature. He noted this within his mind as he watched her curiously look through compartments. "It's rude to look, you know." he stated as she turned around innocently to look at her.

"Oooh! But Jean, think about it! We may see someone we know! Plus we need a seat." She excitedly told him, her hands gripped the bag of sweets and food alike.

She finally found one compartment, the one with the girls conversing about nargles and Snorkacks. "Oh! Hello! Do you mind if we take this compartment with you?" She gestured to the compartment the girl was dancing in front of.

Jean however, was obviously uncomfortable with the thought of sharing a compartment with a pair of strange girls. But he didn't show this and simply leaned onto the nearby wall, his own hand clutching a book they had been listed to have. As long as no one interrupted his reading...

But what was the book he had? Magical Creatures and Their Properties, read the title, and one could only guess what place his had his finger in...
Lily was about to go back to her cabin when she felt the train lurch to a stop. Figuring her stuff would be gathered up she exited the train quickly she needed to get up to the Castle to inform one of the teachers about the Death Eater that had been on the train.

When she got off the train she noticed the flow of students, First-Years heading to the boats and everyone else to the carriages. She blinked again, the uniforms...what was going on. She turned around a few times, looking, and feeling utterly lost.
Jazz resumed wandering through the train but a thought had hit her, she didn't lock up her pet ferret, Egg, before she left for her walk. Jazz ran frantically back to her carriage and found Egg's cage empty.

Oh no! What if some one steps on him, or worse, realises he's not a cat!

Jazz knocked on door after door all through the train. She entered a carriage near the front of the train that contained about four students who all looked up at her like her hair was on fire. There were three girls, one of them with a noticeably dreamy look on her face, and a boy, who looked a lot calmer in comparison to his peers.

"Has anybody seen my, umm, cat. I accidenty left her alone in my compartment when I took a walk through the train. He's a creamy colour and he likes nibbling on ankles."
Luna sat silently with Lynette up until the brother and sister arrived. She nodded at them to let them know it was alright to take a place with them in the compartment for what short amount remained of the train ride. Her eyes flicked to the title of the book the boy was reading, and she nearly grinned at him. She wondered if anyone would have published something about nargles or Snorkacks in that book. While she whole-heartedly believed in the creatures, she was well aware that most of the wizarding community did not and that proof was limited. The magazine her father worked as an editor for, The Quibbler, often seemed the only place one would hear of such creatures--and popular they were amongst the regular readers.

When the blue-haired girl ran in in a bit of a panic, Luna looked to Thanatos, still in Lynette's lap. "Perhaps Thanatos wouldn't mind helping you find your cat."
