She shifted in her seat to look more presentable -- she leaned on one hand to form a deep s-curve with her hips and shoulders, folded her red-violet wings nicely behind her, flicked her hair over her shoulder. She didn't want to be a slave, a pet, a servant, anything. But being bought meant that she had a better chance of getting away from all of it. Thomas would never let her out of the box she was in and he would never let her fly. But these people may just give her some freedom. She didn't smile, just watched the pair with curiosity, like an animal watching potential owners pass by. She was a pet right now. She was a doll behind a glass pane, untouchable unless she was paid for. She wanted them to pay for her. |
