Kaoru sighed as he swirled his spoon around in the stew and occasionally made faces at it as he discovered different ingredients. It was hard for him to eat food he didn't see prepared himself. He only liked his stuff to come from a certain place. "Carrots...Beef...potatoes..." he said to himself. If Kaoru made this he would use the best beef the best carrots and even add mushrooms to it. Ge's garnish it with a little parly and cilantro. He loved Cilantro, it was something he loved to experiment at the moment. The spoon is his made it to his mouth as he ate a bite.

At this moment, Kichiro had reffered to him is Tony. Tony? Tony the tiger from the cereal? The boy looked up at him and frowned. "I appreciate it if you called me by my name, it's not like you don't know it. It's rude. But if you call me such I'll refer to you as Pumba. The stupid boar whom lacks a brain in Lion King.". Kaoru took another bite of his food and looked at the boy again. "You act stupid, you get stupid in return.". The boy said as he looked away from him. This was really angering him. Why was he being nice to that family if all of them were going to be mean to him for no reason. Kichiro just called him a name, Hisoka ruined his brownie he worked so hard on, and now their sister. Kaoru decided he wasn't going to try with her. What is it they say? A bird bird of the same feather flock together. He tried, he really did, but he wasn't going to continue getting dissed.

Kaoru just wanted to get this birthday over with. He looked up at Clare and smiled, "Happy Birthday Claire...". However becfore he could say anything else the rat had decided to yell at Hisoka for being there. Kaoru wasn't joining in or anything. He just sighed at the thought. And then the Rude boy Kichiro slapped her which to him made him dislike him more. A boy is never suppose to hit a girl no matter what. The boy just lacked any type of respect. This was nothing he was ever around his parents was certain to keep him with a respectable few. Kaoru sighed again and watch everything happen from the screaming and yelling to akio demanding that they stop and behave. Kaoru actually got a headache from all of this, he didn't do to well with drama to begin with. He looked up at Akio, "Akio...can I please be excused, I don't feel well.".

Deep in your smile I see the world seeing me
I'm free to be free, to be what I'd be
When my hearts aching and it's shallow on love
I gaze to the doves and I find it above

▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇

Hikaru smiled as Katashi said hello but couldn't help but feel that the guy was just kind of....creepy. His monotone that was just a pitch to high to be normal and his distant approach was just not something Hikaru knew how to work with. It was like talking to an alien, an alien with a calculator for a brain. Of course the boy still didn't want to hurt the man's feelings and just avoided looking right at him once he noticed his knee. "It's alright. It's already iced and everything. Don't worry about it." Hikaru said, unable to keep his voice normal nor hide his gentle scooting across the floor away from the rooster. "Yeah, I'm ok." He said, wondering why the hell the rooster was so happy reading his note, the smile was just kind of strange on the others face. That was when Hikaru realized he had never seen the rooster smile before. No wonder it was so creepy to him. The thoughts on the matter were soon erased as Hikaru watched everything fall around them. Hikaru hated the idea of the cat sitting with Akio, but he wasn't going to stand up to the man, he was god there must have been some kind of reason behind it, so he was quiet. But after watching Kichiro slap Keiko around for saying what she truly thought Hikaru just felt disgusted. Even Akio's words didn't help soothe the angry monkey's rage, the boy clinging onto his knees with all his strength, biting down any words of protest against Akio's decision.

Hikaru looked ready to explode when Kaoru asked to be allowed to leave. Hikaru could see that Akio didn't want his friend to leave so Hikaru, acting on impulse stood up as well. "I'll help him to the doctor Akio. I'm sure that a little air and a vitamin will be good. We'll probably even be back for presents." Hikaru said quickly, making AKio look to him now. Hikaru wondered if the tiger would even be willing to come back with him for the presents or if he just wanted to go lie down. But he stood his ground and Akio gave him a nod of agreement and then turned back to the rest of the family. Hikaru bowed and picked up his present for Clare, wondering what he was supposed to do. He then looked to Katashi and smiled, now he knew what to do. Hikaru handed the box to Katashi and bowed. "Give this to Clare if I don't make it back in time. I'll make it up to you I promise." Hikaru promised before whispering. "It's a candy necklace, make sure she eats it soon ok?" The boy asked before walking over to Kaoru and offering his hand. "Come on, we'll get you some clean air ok. Get you out of this stuffy room and away from...certain people." Hikaru said as he aimed a glare directly at Kichiro, Hisoka and that family. They had ruined the banquet before it had even gotten started. Hikaru wished they'd just stay home. "Come on." He said as he took Kaoru's hand and slowly helped him out of the banquet room and into the hall, where already it felt lighter and easier to move. After a few moments away from the banquet Hikaru looked to Kaoru and for the first time began to look for anything wrong with him. "How are you feeling? Do you really need to see Mr. Sekiyama or did you just want to leave?....either way we could rest at my house until you feel better...if you want."

Gii had taken notice of the brownie when he sat done, but was unsure of why it was there. Was Akio mad enough to attempt trying to poison with something he had put in the baked good. His eyes scanned the room as everyone else consumed the chocolate delicacy, but he knew that the fact they weren't all laying along the ground or against the table mean nothing, seeing he was pretty sure if Akio was going to kill him he would be sure that his brownie was the only one that received whatever toxin he was using.

It was when Akio mentioned that it was Kaoru who had made the brownies to did he moved to hide it in his sleeve. He did not want to hurt the boys feelings by being the only person to not touch his brownie, but he did not trust him either - for all he knew, he and Akio could be in cahoots. He turned his attention to the cat, whom company he had been graced with earlier. When Akio offered him the seat next to him, Gii's eyes narrowed. What was he planning? Was he going to put the cat on display or something - or was he genuinely trying to make a change within the family for the better.

Gii's eyes travel around the table, catching only glimpses of some of the disdain present on the faces of some of the other family members. He saw nothing wrong with the cat, but apparently he had enemies. One of the girls sitting around the table started in on the cat before he'd had a chance to enjoy the fact that he was being considered a part of the family rather then and outsider. Even before she had finish, Gii knew she had had bit off more than she could chew. He himself felt and anger boil in the pit of his stomach, but before he could even react to what she had said - the rude raven haired boy had jumped to his feet and initiated operation Im-gonna-make-you-eat-those-words.
Yes Hisoka had addressed the issue, but apparently that was not enough to satisfied the rude boy who had been labeled his brother.

He had not expected Akio to take action. Know full well how sickly the other could be, he would have hoped that he refrained any form involvement in matters such as these. Gii has also saw the sickness, that seemed to creep in to some of his relatives as they watched the scene unfold. Kaoru seemed most effected by it, asking if he could be excused from the table. In his mind Gii wonder why he was asking when he could have easily just gotten up and walked out. He was given Akio a chance to decline his request, which Gii was sure the young master would do. He flipped the little wrapped box between his fingers, hidden by his sleeves and wait for the room to return to a somewhat serene state. He would give the girl her gift and make his exit. It had been a long day, and from the looks of it the night would only get worse.

Momotaro Sohma
The Rabbit

User Image
xxxxx Momotaro followed his sister as she lead him into the dinning hall. The little boy's eyes widened in amazement. The table was so long! And there were a ton of chairs. He smiled at everyone that was already there, trying his best to wave at everyone as he entered. Thats when Akio cracked a little joke about Ko. That made Momo laugh a little. "No Silly Ko's not my twin," he corrected, his childish mind enabling him from understanding that joke completely. However he did understand the god's instructions and took his seat promptly. There next to his chair was a little area for Ko. It was a topless box with newspaper and a large bowl filled with a rabbit's favorite food: salad. Momotaro winked at Ko and set him inside it. The rabbit searched his surroundings and wiggled his nose in curiosity. His little pal hopped around and checked every single corner of the box before diving head first into his food.

The Rabbit Zodiac left him to it and took his seat. It was a little small for him but by adjusting himself so that he sat on his knees, he was finally able to see over the table. Just in front of him sat a fancy plate with what looked like a brownie in the center and note with a key chain. Momotaro grabbed at it quickly, chowing down on the treat before opening the note. It took him a while to read it but he was thankfully able to understand what it meant. He turned to the tiger and smiled at him.

"Thank you for the note...uh..." He looked back at the piece of paper for the tiger's name. "Koa...Kaoru!" He liked the sound of that name. The beginning reminded him of his little rabbit pal. His attention with the note soon fading away he stared at the key chain that went with it, smiling at it. It was a little bunny and it looked just like Ko. Momotaro had seen some of Keiko's friends hanging key chains similar to this on their cellphones. Unfortunately the ten year old didn't have a cell phone. Keiko said it was too much of a responsibility for him. He wasn't sure what that meant but he didn't dare question his older sister. Leaning down the little boy attached the key chain to Ko's ear. Ko stopped his munching for a moment and tried to nibble at the little chain. Momotaro giggled and watched his fuzzy friend play with it. There wasn't any other use of it that he could think of. A happy sigh escaped him and he felt emotinaly content. Everyone so far seemed to be happy around each other, even the god.

But this happy feeling didn't last. The boar came rushing into the room and began yelling before Momotaro had a chance to wave and say high. Now the little boy knew he wasn't yelling at him but he still felt guilty. The heavy dark emotion over took him and he frowned, feeling this weight in his stomach. It didn't stop there though. His sister stood up and slammed her fists at the table and began yelling as well. Momotaro didn't understand this at all. Everyone was so happy a minute ago. The yelling continued and eventually his sister was hit by the boar. The made him flinch a little. He was too young to be seeing this.

"Keiko..." He tried to get his sister's attention but Akiho had shouted at the boar to get out of the room and took his sister out to talk as well. The poor little boy didn't know what to do so he just sat back and hugged his knees. He felt suddenly sensitive to the heavy feeling in the room and hugged his knees. Even the tiger, who had seemed happy earlier and had done nice things for everyone had this aroa of unwellness about him suddenly. Momotaro watched at the food was delivered but he made no move to eat it. Apparently it was someone's birthday and this information caught him by surprise. Inside he wanted to say happy birthday to the birthday girl but he just couldn't. The happiness that Akio was trying to suggest was a fake one. No matter what the god said or did, there was still this dark mood in the room. Momotaro stayed silent, not really looking at anyone any more. He wanted to his sister to return. He wanted to go to bed. He wanted to help but all those things weren't going to happen, at least that was what the rabbit thought. Maybe his sister had been given a time out or something. Now he was slightly confused. He tried to think things over as to why Keiko would be given a time out for being hit. It made his head hurt and Momotaro buried his face in his knees, suddenly not hungry. Ko wasn't even eating anymore as if he could tell that Momotaro was upset.

The boy waited for Akio's answer, hoping it wasn't a no. "You're welcome.". he said giving Momotaro a smile. He noticed Hikaru quickly jumped in too. What was he thinking, that meant he had to move and be on his leg again. Kaoru didn't interrupt or get mad at it because he didn't want anymore argument. When Akio agreed he was so relieved. He just figured it would be too much tension in the room. He already got a headache from it, he could only imagine it getting worse or something else happened.

Kaoru nodded at Akio as in to say thank you and followed Hikaru out. When they reached the halls, "I really do have a headache so I should see him for some medicine. I don't think I'm running a fever, so if I take something and wait until it works I should be okay soon, and besides maybe us going will make yous stay off your leg.". The boy said as he began to walk forward but slowly. He didn't want to injure Hikaru anymore than he already was. "I never just make up stuff just leave Hikaru. If that was the case I'd probably just walk out. I was tempted to, but I didn't want to Anger Akio anymore than he already is. I would hate for a dinner party I've planned to turn out like it did tonight.".

Hikaru soon reached the other dining room, which was much more mellow and quiet. He liked that, he would have been content eating there for dinner and not worrying about family drama. Besides, he had two excuses to keep him away now. His headache and Hikaru's injured leg. Kaoru slowly approached the table and smiled at the people there, there teacher from before and the doctor, and a girl he thought was familiar but i wasn't sure. "Excuse me, I don't meant to interrupt..." he said and looked towards the doctor "I've been excused because I have a headache...I was wondering if you have something to get rid of it." he asked the man respectfully.

Satoshi smiled gingerly at the pink-haired woman that was sitting across from him; she introduced herself as Jayden Collins, the teacher for the Sohma family. It was quite interesting, and the doctor wondered if she was also a part of the Sohma family. From what he had heard, the family was quite strict on who went in and out of their high walls. But maybe she was a genius teacher? Both her first and last names hinted that she wasn’t really Japanese, so maybe she came from overseas and decided to teach the Sohma clan; however, her Japanese was quite suburb. It was when she continued to talk did Satoshi decided that she probably was a member of the family, if not had been part of the family for a good while now. He nodded his head as he found a pleased smile creeping upon his lips. “Yes, I’d like to say that I have a high status in the medical field,” the doctor replied, nodding his head. Maybe it was just him being vain, but the good doctor was proud of his accomplishments; he was glad he was able to rise to the top given the many obstacles that he had been put through.

With a nod of his head, Satoshi accepted the teacher’s proposal. He couldn’t think of a reason why not, and it was certainly fine for him. If he could get a class teaching the children about the Human anatomy, it meant that the good doctor was going to have some time getting to know the many young minds that would be in the Sohma house. He inwardly smirk while he shot her a soft smile. “Yes, that’s fine with me. Teaching the children about the Human body seems quite promising.” His attention was pulled away from the teacher towards the young girl that had seated herself close by them. She had short, brunette hair and her eyes were a bright, teal color. Judging from her body’s build and the way she presented herself, she seemed like one who was in their sixteenth-seventeenth year. Satoshi’s simply frowned inwardly before looking towards the thing that had pulled his attention away from Jayden. It was soft, but it was loud enough for the good doctor to hear. There was a small, white and gray cat lying in the teenager’s bag, crying out for who-knows-what. “Is that your cat?” he asked, disarming smile on face.

Before he could get a response, however, the voice of a rather familiar young boy rang within Satoshi’s ears. He had to hold back a smile as he turned his body around to see the young boys from earlier making their way into the dining room. Ah, their gorgeous forms was enough to make Satoshi giddy inside. Calmly, the blonde-haired man stood up from his seat and flashed the two boys a smile. “What brings you two here?” he asked as his green eyes made their way towards Hikaru. The response was quick, and it tickled the good doctor’s fancy very much. He turned his direction towards one of the servants walking around and asked if they could lead him and the children to his office. The doctor turned his gaze towards the younger boy, noticing that he wasn’t going easy on the leg like he was supposed to. With a grunt, the blonde-haired man scooped the dirty, blonde-haired boy into his arms, cradling him as if Hikaru were his bride. A charming smile rose upon Satoshi’s lips as he slowly leaned his face to the boy’s. “What did I tell you about that leg?” he asked, cooing ever so gently towards him. He turned his gaze towards Kaoru and nodded his head towards direction the servant the was walking towards. “Please, go on ahead.

It didn’t take them long to reach Satoshi’s office, and the doctor mused on the fact that Yuu was not joking that it wasn’t that far away from the second dining room. He thanked the servant as he opened the door for him and watched as she went on her merry way, probably to catch up with dinner. “Go on inside and take a seat on the bed,” he ordered, lightly closing the door behind him. Satoshi was surprised by how well-kept the doctor’s office was despite the many years the Sohma family had been long without a family doctor. The infirmary bed was clean and white with a gray curtain pushed against the wall behind it, there for the patient’s privacy. There was an office desk pressed up against the adjacent wall with shelves to hold paperwork and a little cup to hold pens and pencils. Sitting on the office desk was a rather spiffy computer that the doctor suspected was brand new, and standing next to the office desk was a fairly small bookshelf that was still waiting to be filled.

He set Hikaru gently beside Kaoru and frowned at the sight of how messy the bandaged had been wrapped around his leg. He walked over towards a refrigerator that was sitting not too far away and pulled out an ice pack, glad that whoever had organized this room put that inside. Satoshi pulled up a chair, one of those low stools with wheels, and sat up right in front of Hikaru. He unwrapped the bandage around the boy's leg, gently picked up the young boy’s leg, and placed it on his lap, setting the ice pack against the dirty blonde’s bruise. A light smile crept upon the man’s lips as he felt the young boy shiver underneath the cool touch; although a bit disappointed that he himself had not caused this, Satoshi was glad of the reaction either way. “I don’t think we’ve properly introduced ourselves, though I’m sure we all know each other’s name, yes?” he began, looking up from the boy’s slender legs to Hikaru and Kaoru’s faces. Ah, the look of innocence in their eyes--how Satoshi just wanted to blow it away like a flame sitting on top of a candle. “Dozo yoroshiku; Sekiyama Satoshi des,” he greeted with his polite, husky voice. “Namae nan desu ka?

As he waited for their responses, he gently told Hikaru to keep the ice pack against his bruise. Satoshi stood up, setting Hikaru’s leg on the bed, and walked over towards the cupboard which held all the medicine that Satoshi was allowed to issue. Again, he was grateful to whomever had organized this office. I’d like to thank them, he thought as he pulled out pills for a headache and a bottle of water from the fridge. He handed them towards Kaoru, admiring the boy’s stunning features. “Are you hungry? That could be a reason to why you have a headache.

                                                                  ||translations: #1 - Pleasure to meet you; # 2 - I’m Satoshi Sekiyama; #3 - What is your name?||

Hikaru nodded as Kaoru explained that he really did have a headache, but he didn't feel anything more then that. "It's alright. I trust you. I just know that if I wasn't used to having dinners like that, I wouldn't want to hang around any longer then I had to. Back when I first came here I used to say that I needed to use the bathroom, then I never came back. They were never mad, cause they all knew it needed to be done sometimes. Though....I guess with Akio right now, I wouldn't have even tried. he looked really angry." Hikaru explained as he placed one hand on Kaoru's forehead. He didn't feel a fever, so Kaoru was probably fine like he said, and the headache was just from the nasty dinner guests. "Sorry about Kichiro and Hisoka coming in and making everything awful. First the yelling things, now this. I promise, we'll have a good dinner and you'll get to be happy." Hikaru said softly, anger in his voice, but not in the about to explode kind of way. It faded quickly for Hikaru remembered what he was supposed to say. "Oh! You should know. I really really liked your present before!" Hikaru said enthusiastically, walking a little faster as he spoke about it. "It was really really tasty and the note was fun. I didn't know what to do about the monkey though. But it was cute too." Hikaru said as they walked towards the dining room, the small monkey charm still dangling from his ear as they looked inside.

Hikaru caught a few faces, some familiar, a few not so much. But what he focused on was the sight of the young doctor that had helped him before. Kaoru was the first to ask for help but Hikaru of course had to add onto it. "It just came on so we need to help it quickly. And You'd be the one to beat it before it gets worse."" Hikaru said confidently, hoping that the doctor would rise to the challenge. Kaoru said he spotted a good doctor in the man and Akio had been the one to hire him, the man must be some kind of medical god. So when the man noticed his leg Hikaru quickly looked away. "I...I needed to help Kaoru." The boy said quickly before looking right at the doctor, deciding to be brave ad face the man. "So even if it hurts I know its for a good reason. It'll feel better soon anyway. I have lots of energy." The boy said before he was picked up by the doctor. W-wha-what?" the boy asked, gripping onto the man instinctually as he was carried. Perhaps it was being the monkey or because he was a cuddly child, but when held against someone's chest Hikau always grabbed tightly and held on. Any other way he would try to climb up a little higher, to see what he could see from as high as he could. But against the doctor's chest Hikaru held on. The boy did relax enough to lean into the man a little as they walked. "Kaoru is the sick one, you should take care of him next time." Hikaru said softly, not exactly protesting, but knowing that Kaoru was probably the more frail between them. Even the strong tiger couldn't catch the naughty monkey after all.

Once they entered the doctor's office Hikaru felt more calm and comforted. Doctors were always at their best in these kinds of room,. Kaoru would have his medicine soon. When set down beside Kaoru Hikaru scooted over to give the other room while the doctor went to get what he needed. Hikaru looked to his knee and began to try to pull up the pant leg to let the doctor examine it. But his nice slacks were too tight and wouldn't go over his calf when he tried to fold it up. the boy growled as he stood up. "Darn fancy pants. This is why I wear shorts all the time. These things are annoying." The boy said as he unbuckled his belt and dropped trousers, folding up his pants and sitting back on the bed in his boxers. He didn't mind it at all, though he was a bit cold. The ice pack didn't help, and shivers did run through the boys whole body when the pack was placed on his bruise. "Brrr. It's so cold here in Japan, I almost thought that the air would be a good enough ice pack." The boy complained before the doctor asked his questions. Hikaru smiled and nodded his head. "智あなたに会えてうれしいです。" Hikaru said cheerfully. "私の名前はヒカルです。私は主の家にここで寝るけど、私は猿の家に住んでいます。" The boy said proudly, taking the icepack and holding it against his leg all by himself. When the doctor asked Kaoru what caused the headache, Hikaru quickly grew quite. It was a sensitive topic, anything that happened within the banquet hall was secret, even from some servants. Hikaru would just have to trust Kaoru to say what he wanted to say.

As she entered, Clare was very glad that the God seemed in a good mood. Thank you. she said happily as she made her way over to her chair, next to the Rooster. Everything seemed to be going quite well and everyone seemed quite happy too! Maybe her birthday there wouldn't be so bad! the brownie with the trinket only made things better. She had just finished reading the small note, while grinning at the message when her thoughts about spending time with the Tiger and baking stopped abruptly as she heard a very familiar scream. Oh God. She didn't even have no guess who it was! Who could it be except for the Boar? He probably finally remembered her due to where she was sitting...well, this was peachy. She tried to hold back a grown as Kichiro marched up to her, but ended up letting it out as soon as he finished talking. See? This is why they couldn't they along. She tried really! She tried getting along with him when they were little, but despite acting nice and getting along with Hisoka, Kichiro disliked her! And in return she also disliked him. She glared back and was about to respond as to tell him that she hadn't lied even once. She hadn't really. She had introduced himself and asked him about getting ice-cream with her, talked to him. She hadn't lied. He just hadn't asked her. Not her fault that he had short memory.

Of course, she didn't get a chance to say anything as Etsuko came over and scolded her brother. Now, Etsuko might've been a child in many ways, but you had to appreciate the way she had both of her brothers wrapped around her little finger. Clare watched in amusement as she scolded her brother, threatening not to talk to him anymore and turning her back. Also, she seemed to be pulling Hisoka towards her seat. Did she want to stay with them ? Clare would be happy to have both Etsuko and Hisoka next to her really! She couldn't say the same about Kiki, but there was no helping him sitting at the table since he was the Boar, which was right after her. Since it was her birthday, maybe Hisoka wouldn't ignore her this time! She'd be really happy if he stopped being so stubborn about ignoring her for some random reason...too bad his stubbornness seemed to be one of his many characteristics. Sure, she was stubborn too! But in the good way! Hisoka was being stubborn for some random reason she didn't know and that annoyed her. Being ignored wasn't fun. This time he did stand up for her though and that made her a bit happy. She made a sign towards him in an 'no worries, I already know how he is' way. They may be twins but damn they weren't anything alike.

When Akio finally decided to interfere, she was quite smug with Kichiro getting scolded, hence sticked her tongue out shortly at the Boar. As Kichiro finally gave up, giving her a rather forced 'Happy Birthday' greeting, she had to admit she was surprised. She hadn't expected him to actually listen. Maybe it was cause of his sister and brother's scoldings. He wasn't exactly the kind to be scared by Akio (proof being the glare he had given the God earlier). She gave him a smile, which was still a bit smug. Thank you Kichiro-san. she said simply. This was quickly followed by a face palm as the Boar called out to the Tiger, calling him Tony. Seriously? Kaoru commented back and she giggled. She'd have to go thank him afterwards for the brownie and the small note!

Things seemed to be settling in for a minute before the actual disaster started properly. Then, Akio announced that The Cat would be staying next to him and she herself couldn't help but feel a bit jealous...just a bit. It was a good thing though! That way Hisoka would finally get a position he deserved and wouldn't be looked down upon or ignored. The thought made her smile for her friend. Well, she considered him a friend, despite it seeming like he either didn't know of her existence or hated her because of how he could act. Hell she tried screaming in his ears, almost completely damaging her own in the process and the damn guy had still refused to acknowledge her...that or maybe he had gone temporary deaf at that time. Also, he didn't seem to agree with her this time either. Rather than being happy he seemed more scared than anything and she couldn't help but worry. It couldn't be that bad right? She herself had stayed next to Akio when the Dog's year came. Why would Hisoka be so afraid, excluding the fact that he was the Cat, hence mostly considered an outsider? Thankfully, he finally started to reach out for Akio's hand...only for it to go right back to his side when a certain zodiac slammed her hands to the table. As soon as Keiko opened her mouth to mouth her displeasure regarding Hisoka's seat arrangement there was bound to be a conflict. God, Clare swore she had nothing against the rat but at times like these she wished someone would knock some kind of sense into her. Just as the twins, Clare palled as Keiko continued. Hisoka being the cat was a secret from Etsuko! Did this girl realize that!? Probably not.

She didn't need either of Etsuko's brothers to tell her what to do to be honest. She did appreciate the fact that Kichiro pushed the girl towards her though, since that way she could plug her ears more quickly. She prayed to God she didn't hear anything. It would've been a disaster for Etsuko to hear about her brother being the cat before she changed her point of view about the cat itself! Clare flinched as Hisoka shot back his own venom filled comment towards the Rat. It almost didn't even sound as if he was himself and that made a small shiver run down her spine as she continued to press her hands on Etsuko's ears just to be sure she didn't hear anything. She would've also covered her eyes if she could because the sight of your brother hitting a girl wasn't exactly pleasant. It wasn't even pleasant for her and she wasn't close to either Kichiro or Keiko. Momotaru was probably suffering from seeing this more than others also. Keiko was his big sister, right? Must've been horrible for the poor Rabbit.

Akio stopped them. That only after a while. Well, no one could've expected him to actually go over and stop them before, given his normal attitude, right? Letting out a sigh, she hadn't realized she had been holding in, Clare decided to let go of Etsuko for now, considering it safe now that the whole ordeal had been mostly stopped. She'd admit that Akio deserved extra points for the happy show he was trying to put on even after such a scene. However, it didn't help. Kaoru, as well as Hikaru had asked to leave. She wasn't surprised. Kaoru seemed like a more gentle person, hence such violence would make him feel quite uncomfortable and Hikaru already seemed to have some problems walking for a reason or another. Hopefully she'd get to talk to them later, since she doubted they'd return to the banquet room too soon. Are you feeling alright, Etsu-chan? she asked gently, figuring she should check if the girl had actually heard something or not. She hoped it was the later. she spared a glance over to Hisoka which was once again being invited to sit by Akio before she caught sight of her cake. Maybe cake would help ease the tension! Especially for the poor Rabbit which seemed on the verge of crying. She gave the servants a sign as to not light it just yet. Everyone seemed to shaken up to do something like that yet. Instead she waited to see if everyone had calmed down and anxiously waited for Etsuko's response. She hadn't expected her birthday to be so catastrophic right from the start, despite knowing how some people there could be.

________Etsuko very quickly- and very abruptly- stopped moving as Akio spoke to her. The girl turned to face the God as he spoke, retreating a little bit further behind Hisoka's arm as he explained the seating arrangements, and how her own wants did not comply with his. She heard her mother's voice play against her ears as Akio spoke, adjusting her posture and standing herself a little bit more upright; 'Now remember, Etsuko, whenever Akio-sama speaks to you, you must show him the utmost respect and pay very close attention to what he says. Then, when you answer, make certain that you stand up straight, look directly at his face- but not his eyes!- and speak clearly and properly. Fortunately, you are not cursed by the zodiac, so it is unlikely that he will ever need to speak to you, unless you are doing something wrong. But if he should, remember those rules, and you will avoid trouble. Am I understood?'. She breathed in deeply, gathering what courage she could collect from the pit of her stomach and moved as so she could face Akio. She bit her tongue lightly before answering, "Thank you, Akio-sama- but yes, I will try my best to make sure that Chii-p- I mean, that Kichiro behaves himself". With that said, she would bow her head slightly, and then turn to face her dark-haired sibling, her blue optics watching the teen in such a manner that she might've almost been pressuring him into apologising with her glance alone. Her serious-face was shattered, however, and broke out into a wide grin once Kichiro wished Clare a happy birthday; it wasn't ideal, but it was certainly better than nothing, and was praised by a gentle pat upon her sibling's back. She knew that he was stubborn, so his 'happy birthday' was something of an achievement.

_________With her job now somewhat done, Etsuko had time to briefly pass a timidly assuring smile toward Hisoka, only partly understanding the massive deal it was that her brother had been asked to sit with Akio, as opposed to not being allowed to sit with anyone at all. She was still a little sour about not being able to sit with both brothers, but also about not being able to wedge Clare and Hisoka together- that was her big, master plan! Oh well, hopefully Hisoka would give Clare her present and that would give them an excuse to talk, yay! She felt her grin lessen and develop into an almost devious smirk, simply at the thought of her plot working, before she'd carefully begin to manoeuvre herself around the chairs and toward her designated seat. She stopped suddenly, however, and emitted a startled "Meep!" as suddenly, the white-haired girl's fists came thundering down upon the table. Then Hisoka yelled, his voice over-lapping a lot of the girl's shouting, before she was abruptly shoved by Kichiro and her ears quickly covered by Clare.

_________It took Yoyo a few blinks before she was able to comprehend quite how she'd ended up in Clare's arms, but once the confusion had passed, a puzzled frown formed upon her face. Fortunately for several of those present, Etsuko's ears had only managed to capture snippets of the commotion, before all that she was left with to fill in the gaps, were muffled voices. 'What the- ETUSKO'S EARS! PLUG THEM RIGHT NOW!- Why does the damn ca-'... The damn 'ca'? The little girl was somewhat perplexed by this, and would quietly ask Clare, "I can hear mumbles- what's everyone mumbling about, did something happen~?", and in doing so, announced how oblivious she was to what had caused such a ruckus. If Clare ever answered her, she wouldn't hear much of it, unless she chose to answer after the white-haired girl had been pulled aside, or after her ears had been released. Whilst she was having a little quiet moment to herself, though, Etsuko would practically list every word she could think of that began with 'ca'. The damn ca-rrot? I think there were carrots in the stew, maybe she wasn't happy about the food? But- why would she shout at Akio about the food, he doesn't seem like the kind of person to make everyone's food.. Hm.. Maybe she said ca-rpet? Maybe there's a stain on the floor in her little house, and the stew reminded her of it? ... Still, I don't think that Akio-sama's the right person to shout at, about that sort've thing... This is tricky!. She hummed thoughtfully, whilst this played on her mind.

_________Yoyo peered over to watch two people leave- she didn't particularly recognise either of them, and so they were otherwise dismissed without much of a second thought. She'd not been standing at an angle that allowed her to see Kichiro slap the rat, or she would've had something to shout about that! She gave the back of her ear a bit of a scratch, which apparently then caused Clare to briefly lift her hand from her ears and ask if she was okay. Etsuko would then reply, in her usual, cheerful tone, "Oh- I'm just dandy, and kinda' looking forward to eating something. My tummy's been shouting at me for not eating, and there's all this food sat in front of me, going cold!". It was almost comical how much of a fuss had been made in regards to her hearing something she shouldn't, and then there she was, with her mind set on stuffing her tummy! Well, most of her mind, anyway. She was still listing words beginning with 'ca-' and trying to create remotely logical reasons for their use- she'd gotten up to 'cabbage' and still doubted her reasoning, and had thus far avoided the word 'cat'. Hisoka certainly wasn't the cat, afterall, so the thought of the girl's yelling relating to her sibling sitting with Akio, just hadn't crossed her mind. Yet.

User ImageHisoka’s eyes narrowed angrily at the girl with the white hair- that girl- the rat, was the reason for the cat’s hate, for the cat being hated, and laughed at- and for the other form. Hiso stood there, stock still like a statue, his form trembling with the rage bubbling up within him. He hated her oh how he hated her so much, his nostrils flared, his eyes, narrowed into slits like that of a feline, were hidden by the shadows his hands created- hidden away from Etsuko so she couldn’t see the beast her brother was containing on the inside. It was a precaution he had unconsciously done, to keep from her his desperately hidden secret. To her, he wasn’t that cat. In fact- that wasn’t who Hisoka was at all. After those bitter, hateful words left his mouth, he instantly regretted them. Hiso couldn’t help but hate himself for letting his self-control slip. He hated the fact he had given in to the cat for just a few moments, and let him say such terrible things to Keiko. It didn’t matter if she liked him or not, that wasn’t who he was, that wasn’t how he treated people. Hisoka felt terrible, he felt filthy, and guilty for letting the cat manipulate him like that. The roundness returning to his pupil, and the pounding in his head became an easily ignore throb as his hands fell away from his face, and revealed shocked, widened eyes as Kichiro shoved Etsu into Clare’s arms, and headed over to the rat to slap her. That, and Akio’s rushing to the scene is what fueled him to take action. ”Stop! Kichiro! STOP! Don’t!” Hisoka launched himself into a run as he threw himself at his twin brother, and wrapped his arms under Kichiro’s.

Just as he tugged, Akio had pushed Kiki aside back to his seat to get away from the rat after he slammed her against the wall and slapped her again, so Kiki would have fallen against him and his chest, allowing the older twin to bind his sibling, and drag him away from Keiko back to stand by his seat. It wouldn’t have been easy to restrain Kichiro, but because he made sure to keep himself in shape at the onsen for self-defense, Hisoka would have been able to restrain Kiki long enough. Once he stopped, Hisoka would heft him back to his feet, but not let him escape as his hands tightly grabbed for his twin’s shoulders and turned him to face the red head. Eyebrows were tilted upwards, his eyes full of sadness and worry as he shook his head, and spoke quietly- gently to his out of control brother. ”Stop Cheese-pan… Stop…” He said kindly, hands clutching his shoulders tighter so he wouldn’t try to fight, or look away- so he could see how distraught he made Hisoka. ”Please… Just calm down! You can’t do that to people, Kiki… It’s not right. You don’t want to be like her! Don’t treat Keiko the same way she treats me! You hate her so much, and what she does, that you’re starting to act just like her. Don’t turn into her, Kichiro. You’re better than that, I know you are. Okay? I love you, with all my heart, and you KNOW that! You’ve ALWAYS know that, haven’t you? You’re my brother, but there are some things you just CAN NOT do…. This is one of them. You can’t be taken away from us, Etsuko and I need you. Now, sit still, okay? There are some things I have to set straight.” Once Kichiro calmed down, Hisoka would let him go, and ruffle his black hair, before stepping around him, and standing by quietly as Akio talked to Keiko.

When the God left the rat alone, he waited until Akio stepped by, talking to the others when he said it wasn’t wrong for Hisoka to be here. Hurriedly, the cat stopped wringing his hands and went over to Keiko, and cast his eyes down in shame as he bowed to her from the waist, his red bangs coming to shade his face from her view as he looked down at the ground. ”I’m so sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused you… I really hadn’t meant for any of this to happen. Please excuse my brother, he… he couldn’t control himself. I failed to be a better brother and restrain him, and because of it, you had to suffer the consequences. It’s all my fault, you can be mad at me as much as you wish, but please pardon Kichiro. He’s just… really protective of me because he believes I don’t stand up for myself enough. I also didn’t mean those horrible things I said- it was just… an impulse, I guess.” After he spoke, quietly and hurriedly apologizing for something he hadn’t done, Hisoka looked up and his eyes showed the rat SYMPATHY! He could already hear his mother’s words, her angry screaming in his ears as she called him useless, an impotent disgrace who couldn’t do anything right. How she would scream at him to fix the mess he caused, even if Kichiro had offended someone, Hiso would be reprimanded for it, and blamed for not stopping Kiki from making a fool of himself. His eyes glance down at the ground with a quiet sigh, as he flinched, and winced in pain as he could just imagine all too vividly the smacking of her palm against his face again and again as she left a big black and blue bruise upon his cheek.

He also felt bad for poor Momotaro… Looking up, he noticed the little rabbit curled up, and depressed where he was sitting. Poor guy, he had to see all that had happened to him. It made Hisoka feel like an a**, why hadn’t he protected the little rabbit from seeing that? Why hadn’t he stopped him sooner so the little boy wasn’t exposed to that? Hisoka never wanted Etsuko exposed to his mother’s abusive behavior- that’s why Urui sent Etsu to her room before she would hit Hiso, and when the woman left bruises upon him, he and Kiki would lie and say that he fell, or was hit by a branch. So far, she had bought every excuse they gave her, but Momo? There was no lying, or shielding the truth from him in this situation, he had seen it all. Quickly, he grabbed Keiko by the sleeve; in case she was disgusted and didn’t want to be touched by him; and began to drag her along to see Momo. So when he reached the little rabbit, Hisoka fell to his knees, and tapped the little guy on the shoulder, and fixed a kind smile upon his apologetic face. When/If the little guy turned to see him, Hisoka would wave sheepishly, and scoot aside so the bunny could see his sister standing there. ”Hey there, little rabbit… I may be a broken record here- but… I’m really really really sorry for what happened… My brother is just like your sister, very protective of me, and… he stepped out of line with what he did. I promise it won’t happen again, he knows what he did is wrong, so please don’t be sad. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s okay if you blame me- I won’t feel bad, I hadn’t stopped him like I was supposed to. So… don’t feel so down, okay? Today’s supposed to be a good day, a day to celebrate. Doggy nee-chan’s birthday is today, and we’re here to show how much we appreciate her being here with us, so remember that. ‘All fears go away, when family and friends come to play~’” Hisoka quoted from his father, to make the little rabbit feel better. He was told such things whenever his mom would beat him, and Kichiro came to see him, and see how he was doing after Urui left him alone in his room.

Just then, Akio had turned his attention back to Hisoka, and said it was okay for him to sit there, and the cat went from friendly, back to wide-eyed and a little terrified. Swallowing nervously, the cat looked up at the God with his hand outstretched to him again. Nodding slowly, Hisoka slowly rose to his feet, and his hands began to tremble again, at his sides as he left the rat and rabbit behind to go back to the God. Looking up there at where he was sitting, Hisoka’s mouth dried, and he felt a little sick… the throbbing in his head was a bit worse than it was before as the cat had that internal struggle with him again telling him to just listen and get up there before anyone was brave enough to question it. ”Y-yes Akio-sama… Of course I would love to sit by you.” Reaching up, he carefully grabbed the God’s outstretched hand with his trembling one, and allowed the other man to pull him up, to urge him to sit next to him- silently telling him it was okay to sit there. When he did, Hisoka immediately cast his eyes shamefully downwards as he pulled Clare’s present from his pocket and set it in his lap. Nervously, his trembling fingers began to play with the polka dot bow tied around the pink box. Hiso could feel it yet again- that feeling of being watched, glared at… hated by the few left around the table that didn’t want him there. He couldn’t see Hikaru, or Kaoru anywhere, as his eyes glanced around for them… Perhaps they had been so outraged by Akio-sama’s decision that they left, refusing to eat with him. They must have excused themselves whenever he was talking to Keiko and Momo. Glancing from behind his curtain of red hair, he could see Etsu, and Kichiro, and Clare… Hisoka made a mental note to thank her profusely for what she had done. If Etsu knew he was the cat, and rejected him, his world would crumble to pieces, because that’s what Etsu was- his world… The world he was allowed to live in, and act NORMAL! While Kichiro was his life, the life he wish he could have with no worries- Kiki was the only one who loved him unconditionally, and even HE had something he didn’t know of his twin brother. Without them, Hiso didn't have anyone to rely on him, he would have been locked away in that cat house a long time ago. But that’s not as scary a fate as this- being here right now, unsure of how Akio felt. Was Hiso going to be yelled at? Was Akio angry with him right now because of the ruckus his family caused? Was that only going to pile onto the anger Akio already had, because Hisoka had avoided him all this time? Or perhaps he was pissed because Hisoka had shown him up for their meeting today- surely there were consequences he would have to serve because of all those.

Keiko was terrified of cats. Actually if a cat approached her she would start to hyperventilate and have a panic attack. Thankfully she hadn't seen a cat any time recently... until now. The damn creature. Hiso was just as bad as them! They swarmed around him at points in time, therefore he was disgusting like they were. That was her only logic behind the matter.

Before she could say anything, the boar began to freak out. She was slammed up against a wall in a matter of seconds. That boar was way too strong for his own good...! He was shouting at her one moment and then the next second a hand came down against her cheek. Some more shouting, then another hit against her cheek. The spot was throbbing hard, she knew that there was definitely going to be a bruise forming there. "Wow. Slapping a girl... how manly... the least you could do is throw a punch...!" She was going to punch him but then she heard Akio's voice. She stopped, her heart beating hard suddenly with fear.

She had been angry and she hadn't thought about the consequences of challenging Akio and speaking out of turn. Damn it. she thought, clenching her hands into fists, trying to prepare herself for the worst. She thought for sure that Akio was going to hit her again in the same spot as Kiki, but she was wrong. He pressed down on the spot of the bruise that hurt the most. That certainly got her attention, she looked at him for a few moments and then turned her gaze away from Akio. Keiko was trying to keep herself from moving at all, completely still at all points in time, but she was starting to tremble a little bit when he commented on perhaps retraining her. "Y-You don't have to d-do that Akio san." Her voice was a little shaky as she spoke. She hated that so much, but she couldn't help it. "I... won't speak out of turn again."

When he commented on her emotional tendencies and judgement she didn't say anything... until he commented on Momotaro and turned away. She was silent for a few moments and then looked down to the ground. "I'm sorry, Akio." She made her voice a little bit louder and said, "I'm sorry, everyone." Her voice was still soft and maybe a bit shaky but not as much as when she was talking to Akio earlier.

Keiko was nothing less than extremely surprised when suddenly Hisoka apologized to her, bowing to her. She looked down at him, feeling truly unhappy. "You know, Kichiro is right. You don't stand up for yourself enough. You should work on that..." SHe paused, "Right now you should be yelling at me for saying that to you." She couldn't believe she was doing this... she bowed. She bowed to that damn cat! It.... angered her. There was no way to describe how frustrating she found it to be, bowing to that cat. Maybe that was the rat's spirit deep down inside of her speaking... the rat was the one that caused the cat to get kicked out after all. After bowing she sighed, "I'm sorry.... Hisoka." She couldn't' remember one time she didn't call him the stupid cat or something along those lines. "I should have kept those words to myself. After all, If you have nothing nice to say... don't say it at all." She straitened up and then looked him in the eyes once and then looked quickly away.

Her gaze wandered over to Momotaro who was holding his knees to his chest. Keiko was quite startled when she suddenly was grabbed by the shirt sleeve and was walked over there with Hisoka with her. She was startled when he spoke to Momotaro, actually using a kind tone. She stiffened sightly, confused by what had just happened. Why was the cat being nice to Momotaro and her? Did he not hear what she had just said to him? Did he not realize that she had just greatly insulted him in front of the whole entire family? Did he not realize that they were supposed to be enemies until the end? Keiko didn't know what to do at first, but when she started to make sense of it all, she gave him a grateful look and then mouthed thank you before then watching him walk off.

That was a once in a life time thing. Keiko didn't plan to call the cat Hisoka ever again nor did she plan to apologize or ever thank him again. It wasn't going to happen. As said before, they were bound to be enemies until the end.

Keiko looked down and wrapped her arms around Momotaro. "It's ok, Momotaro, it's ok." She murmured to him, "Don't worry. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. I'm sorry for yelling... I was out of line." She began to stroke his hair. "It's ok... I promise. And look! I'm fine... see?" As if to prove her point she poked the now darker bruise and held back any kind of flinch. "See? I'm fine." She hated it when Momotaro was afraid or worried all because of something she had done wrong. "You know how I am with kitties. Now let's have fun... ok? It's the doggy's birthday today..." She had to look around the table. Which one was she? Oh, that one. She looked over at the girl who was near the black haired girl. "See, that girl over there? Her name is Clare and it's her birthday. You should give her a big hug later and tell her happy birthday, 'kay?" She was trying to be cheery, but that was easier said then done, she was greatly unhappy and a bit shaken still. But... she had to be cheery otherwise she was worried about what would happen next. Would Akio hurt her? Or worse, would he maybe hurt Momotaro? There was no way in hell that Keiko would be speaking out again.

                                                          o o c ;;;

Akio watched from his step as those under him all reacted in their respective ways to the event. Akio hated waiting at times like this, everyone was different but since it was unplanned he couldn't figure fast enough what each and every person would do, which made him anxious. He could only wait and hope that his small speech would be enough to keep anyone from speaking out once again and starting the problem anew. He could guess what a few would do but never for all, the possibility of the event being the spark for complete mayhem was always a possibility. And there was no shortage of signs that this would be the case, Keiko was once again clearly scared of Akio, still regaining herself from Kichiro's assault and Akio's threats, Momotaro was reacting as most children did, curling up on the floor and struggling to understand the sudden darkness that had enveloped the room, Kichiro being held back by Hisoka, and Clare covering the young Etsuko's ears for her own protection. Akio prepared himself, he was tired, he wasn't feeling well, but he was the head of the family and needed to take what came at him and process it rationally, or at least figure out something to stop it from getting any worse.

But then, things began to change, the room's tense atmosphere getting a little lighter as Hisoka recovered his true self, the cat disappearing and the boy that Akio knew to be Hisoka going to each and every party effected by the group and single-handedly taking it upon himself to see to each need. The sight surprised even Akio, so much so that when Kaoru asked to leave Akio only could protest a moment before Hikaru seconded him. Akio let them go without any further fight. He let them leave and then turned to watch Hisoka and the rat speak to each other civilly. They were talking to each other, no remarks, no hidden curses, it was a sight to be seen but not believed. Akio felt a smile just touch his face for a single moment as Hisoka lead the rat to her brother and comforted the both of them, Keiko continuing with her politeness towards the cat and the cat's continued apologizing and comforting. A temporary truce had been made. Between the cat and mouse, Akio saw the beginnings of something desirable. A spark in the darkness perhaps, but something that Akio wanted to fan and to make into a great flame that involved all the zodiacs, to give them all the light that they craved. Before Akio knew it, the cat was accepting his hand and Akio was helping him into his seat. When that was done with Akio clapped his hands a single time and looked around the room. "Everyone, please, feel free to eat. We've started late from our delay but the food is quite delicious. Please, eat it and know that you are all welcomed by the main house. Thank you for being here." Akio said carefully, not getting too loud any longer, since his throat began feeling worse and worse.

Akio helped himself to a cup of tea that had been prepared for him in advance and gave one last look to Clare, the birthday girl. "We'll all wait for your word Clare. Though feel free to take your time." Akio said calmly to the girl, his face not happy but warm and unthreatening, he had no troubles with Clare or her birthday and was legitimately sorry that it had turned out this way. Akio took another drink and relaxed a little before he turned back to the cat. His eyes were tired but he wore his smile well, unable to look away from Hisoka before giving the teen an approving nod. "You handled yourself well." Akio said calmly. "I noticed your....moment before, but you made up for that and I respect you for that." Akio said before reaching over and giving the cat a small pat on the shoulder. "You deserve to eat here tonight for that if nothing else. Akio whispered before taking another drink of tea. "Though I still maintain that I can request anyone to sit beside me, this isn't a holiday after all." The man said as he removed his hand from Hisoka's shoulder, giving one last reassuring pat before looking over the others, watching them as they moved along.

"I am disappointed that this happened at all though." Akio said, waiting until he was sure that only the cat could hear his words, waiting until the others were at least mildly distracted before he spoke again. "I had wanted us all to have at least one meal all together without quarrels of the past, but I see that it isn't the time yet." The man said before glancing to Hisoka from the corner of his eye. "Perhaps if you and I had gone along with my plan from before things would be better now. I would certainly have had a better idea about how far to go before trouble arose and people would be better suited to seeing you if you were around that often." Akio said softly, knowing that Hisoka still remembered his request from him all those years ago. They were but children then but Akio was just as convicted to the idea now as he was then. But the man relented and looked kindly up on the cat as he spoke next. "You don't need to give me any kind of answer now. I imagine you'd like to think about it as an adult. Things certainly are different now, experiences and growth do change opinions." Akio said as he looked to Hisoka. "Perhaps we could talk about ti when you come to fetch your kimono, I had it gathered and placed in my office earlier. It's very pretty, I do hope you'd like it returned." Akio said before coughing a little, once again feeling that clogged feeling in his throat but luckly recovering much faster. "Sorry, I should advise you to not drink tea while talking." The man said before catching sight of both Giichi and Hisoka's gifts. "Hiso, would it hurt you to be the first one to present Clare with a gift?" Akio asked. I had intended to let you give it to her when you came in just to make it quick, but the situation changed. I don't know how others would react." Akio said, giving a short glance to Giichi before looking back to the cat. "What do you think?"

Kaoru watch the man inspect his younger cousin. Which he understood. Hikaru didn't listen to either of them again. He served to be put on bed rest to make sure he listened. Kaoru didn't put too much thought in it anymore. The boy would learn eventually right? Kaoru was just trying to make sure before it was something serious that may actually lead to permanent damage. However at the doctor's next move, he was a bit shocked that he picked up Hikaru. I mean at least it showed he was serious about him staying off his feet, so it didn't bother him at all. Besides Kaoru's dad would have done the same exact thing if it were Kaoru injured like Hikaru.

Kaoru obeyed the doctor and followed the servant to his office. He then sat on the bed as instructed and watched the doctor tend to Hikaru. "Ah..." Kaoru was going to go into talking japanese, but he decided against it, they had been talking English this far so it didn't make a difference to him, "I'm Kaoru Sohma and I'm in the tiger house. It's nice to formally meet you." the boy said with a gentle smile. "And...I think it's because it was so much...yelling going on I got a headache. I tend to get them when I feel overwhelmed for some reason.". the boy answered with a sigh. It was either a headache or he felt sick to his stomach. Kaoru just thought that because it made him so nervous it actually made him sick. Either way he didn't like having a headache. "I don't think I have a fever or anything...and well Hikaru said he didn't feel any either. Oh and...I also had two bites of stew before I came here. I really think it's the enviroment doctor.". The boy said honeslty. The boy took the water and the pill and took it with no questions asked. He pretty much knew he was going to be taking one anyway.

Momotaro Sohma
The Rabbit

xxxxx Momotaro felt a tap on his shoulder and looked up to see the cat sitting on his knees right next to him. Keiko was even there which made things a little better for him. The cat went on to try and make him feel better which was nice to hear. Usually Momotaro found his own little way to deal things, mostly by making everyone laugh or fixing what ever was wrong with the situation. The only reason he hadn't this time was because he really didn't know how to fix it. He couldn't hit the boar back. No. Keiko would be mad at him if he did and it wouldn't solve anything. Besides he kind of liked the boar and hitting him was no way to make friends.

He didn't even know what to say in her defense. It was true, his sister hated cats and she was always scared of them. Momotaro himself had a slight fear of them but mostly because one had scratched him awhile back. That didn't stop him though for trying to understand cats or even playing with them sometimes. As long as they didn't scratch him or hurt Ko the Rabbit Zodiac was fine with the furry felines. Even though it was good to accept people and things like that it didn't give him any words to use to help his sister.

At least the god had, in a more round about way, fixed things. It relived the heavy aura in the room and relived the stress the Rabbit was feeling. The advice given to him by Hisoka helped alot as well. All fears go away, when family and friends come to play. It was so true. Momotaro liked being here with the other zodiacs and he wanted to know them better and be friends. They usually made him happy or would offer to play with him since he was the youngest zodiac in mind and in body. So he smiled at the cat and nodded as he was guided away by Akio. It was then that he felt the warmth of his sister's arms wrapping around him. He hands gently stroked his hair and he felt even better then before.

She even tried to show him that her bruise didn't hurt by poking it but he knew through her eyes that it was sore and achy. He wouldn't speak of it though. His gut told him not to. After all it would only make the mood darker. Many people had seemed to worry about his reaction tot eh whole situation and had tried to fix things or make things better for him. So it was kinda on him to make them feel better about him being better. Momotaro had to pause in his thoughts trying to get over his confusion from his last one. Thus the rabbit needed to pretend to be happy and he did.

"Okay!" He smiled and acted like his bubbly self again. Looking across the table at the dog, he waved, making a plan in his head to go up to her and wish her happy birthday like Keiko had suggested.

tonight with words unspoken
you say that i'm the only one
the only one
but will my be broken

                                                                  Damnit, Damnit, DAMNIT!

Kichiro had risen his hand again for a third time and was about ready to slap Keiko again when he felt a powerful force grip his shoulder. He recognized that voice, the voice that was powerful as a lion’s roar, yet could even come out as a faint whisper. Akio had risen, and Kichiro knew that it was Akio that was pulling him away from the Rat. He could feel the man’s nails digging into his shoulder as he violently pulled him off from the girl he had been hitting. Just as soon as Kichiro found himself tumbling down, he felt another pair of arms wrapping themselves around him, right underneath his own arms. He knew who it was; he had hugged this body multiple times before, but, at this moment, the Boar wanted nothing to do with the Cat. Hisoka had already dragged their way towards Kichiro’s seat, his back facing Etsuko. The look in Hisoka’s green orbs caused Kichiro to return to his usual demeanor, to return to his own stupid self. He felt his heart grow heavy, plummeting to the pits of his stomach. How could he have done this? Kichiro found his green orbs staring at his own hands, noticing the throbbing that was present in his right hand.

Regret was the first thing that came to mind, but it was not the most accurate.

His heart twisted, began to contort into shapes that probably wouldn’t be good for the Human heart. “I love you.” Even though Kichiro should be happy, even though he should be smiling for joy, the black-haired teen could not find it within him. Instead, heavy drops of water had begun to cascade down his cheeks. It hurt; it hurt so much. Akio’s words had echoed within Kichiro’s mind; he was afraid that was why he had attacked Keiko. Sure, he was angry with the things that she had suddenly blurted out, angry that she had even dared to say those words in front of his brother, but that wasn’t why he had struck her. He hated Clare and Akio, hated them with a passion because both of them could easily take Hisoka away from him, but he knew he could tolerate them because they were considerate of Etsuko. They knew Etsuko didn’t exactly know about Hisoka’s curse, didn’t exactly know that Hisoka was part of the Zodiac. But Keiko… He was afraid that if Etsuko had found out, that she no longer would want to be a part of Hisoka’s life, afraid that she would come to hate the one person that needed her most.

A scoff had escaped from Kichiro’s throat as Hisoka begun to apologize to Keiko. Why? Out of all people, why did Hisoka had to apologize for him? The swirling black vortex had begun to manifest yet again in Kichiro’s soul; he didn’t want to let it out; he didn’t want to have to be separated from his siblings. With a curse, the black-haired teen abruptly stood up from his seat and made his way outside the dining hall. He couldn’t return home not in this state, really. His feet began to take him places, began to lead him through different halls of the main house. Tears flooded his vision so he was glad that no servants were out and about, glad that he wouldn’t accidentally bump into anyone. Out of all the days, why did this have to happen now? He hoped; he hoped deep within his heart that Etsuko didn’t hear a word they had said, hoped that she had not just seen her older brother strike another woman, hoped that she didn’t realize that Hisoka was the wretched Cat. His knees collapsed underneath him; as Kichiro looked up, he noticed a door in front of him. Locks had decorated the front of the door, probably to keep outsiders away and whoever inside.

The black-haired teen had a faint assumption of what this door led to. “[********],” he cursed softly as his hands trailed down the rickety door. Suddenly, the door pushed itself open. It was a dark room, but Kichiro was able to make out the bars that decorated the window and the small kitchen space in the room; there was an adjacent bathroom that looked like it had been kept clean in a good while. The Boar inside Kichiro felt his nose wrinkle at the smell this room was in. It just wasn’t fair. The black-haired teen sat in the corner of the house, right near where the window sat. He brought his knees against his chest and rested his forehead on the top of his knees; his messy, black hair now toppled over his face.

                                                                  I love you.”
                                                                  …Stupid…

                                                                  [[ooc: more background music ;D]]
