________Etsuko had stood upon the Cow's porch for a lot longer than she cared to admit; she had hoped that if she stood around for long enough, whoever inhabited this particular house would eventually stop whatever it was that was distracting them from answering the door, and come help her out! It was a bitterly sweet concept, that someone might eventually come to her rescue, though it soon began to lose its novelty once Yoyo came to the realisation that no-one was in. After a few knocks, bashing the palm of her hand against the wood perhaps two or three more than what was considered 'polite', the girl would eventually have to admit defeat and took a step back away from the door. Her green converse shoes squeaked slightly against the wooden panels, a noise which forced her to glance down at her feet, both puzzled and amused by the squeak. She found herself frowning a little; even her shoe laces looked as though they were about ready to give up, as the two loops sagged and hung just a few centimetres above the faded-ivory colour that clung to the soles of her shoes. Again, she found herself faintly glad that her parents had not stayed at the main house, predicting that oka-san would be more than willing to hand her a sponge, and then demand that she cleaned her shoes until they glistened. At the same time though, Yoyo found herself wishing that oka-san had been there to stop her 'exploring' altogether, perhaps that way she would not have gotten lost. Usually Etsuko did not mind not knowing where she was, the adventure of finding her way back was almost as good as the whole event of her misplacing herself, however on this occasion, the sky had turned dark midway through, which suddenly transformed a bit of fun into something of a terrifying trip. Etsuko took a few more squeaky steps away from the door of the little house and came to a halt at the edge of the porch, leaning forward slightly as so she could stare up and judge the progressively darkening hue of the sky above, her lips parting a little as she did so. "Chii-pan.." she uttered quietly, her sibling's name having been spoken as an absent-minded babble which had come with her developing panic. With no knowledge of how she was meant to return to the main house, Etsuko sighed and pulled a bit at the bottom hem of her shorts, before she then sat herself cross-legged where she had previously been standing.
_________Even when she was sat somewhat still, Etsuko somehow managed to find a way of moving in some form. In this instance, her right leg rocked up and down restlessly whilst her bright blue eyes searched along the diminishing colour of the ground for something that was atleast a little bit interesting. Her quest for something to amuse her was briefly put on hold, though, as she felt her stomach groan; she had ran-sacked through a bag of assorted low-sugar sweets in the car journey there, but had otherwise not eaten anything for quite some time, which apparently did not sit especially well with the ridiculously large appetite that her little body possessed. Now, she would not only be looking along the floor for her own amusement, it would be to distract her from her tummy's complaints as well. "Ichi ari, ni ari, san ari, shi ari..." she counted rhythmically, having found a line of ants crawling out from a hole just benieth the porch, some of which were carrying bits of leaf, whilst others marched along with wings and others with bare, shiny, black backs. Yoyo had counted roughly fourty-six ants- a mere fraction of the actual mass of insects that were minding their own business just a little bit benieth her, when she'd heard her name being called out by a brilliantly familliar voice. Her head snapped to look up in the direction of the voice as soon as it tickled at her ears, her high pig-tails flicking excitedly about the side of her face, whilst a wide grin very quickly drew itself upon her lips. "Kichiro-kun!" she squealed, delighted to have had her brother come to her rescue! It was almost a shame that he wasn't wearing a cape, but the ice cream in his hand was sufficient enough proof of his heroism. "I thought I was gonna be stuck out here all night-! And, and- now you're here, and- y-you brought me ice cream?! Thank you Chii-pan~!" she exclaimed, wasting no more time than she needed to speak before munching into the sakura-flavoured dairy loveliness that she had been handed. She stood herself up and followed on after her sibling as he took her hand and led her back, her big, curious blue eyes scanning over their surroundings as she walked and ate. Atleast this way she could maybe remember how to get back to Kiki's little house, if no-where else. She nodded and offered her brother an acknowledging hum as he explained that dinner had begun, an announcement which appeared to have triggered her legs into moving even more quickly. The ice cream was a delicious snack, no doubt, but the prospect of warm food was a good enough reason for Etsuko to get a move on.
_________She wandered diligently after Kiki all the way up to the familiar little house, her ice cream since having been demolished, though at the price of slightly sticky fingers. When instructed to change, Yoyo nodded toward her sibling and would explain, "Okay- let me just wash my hands~", and then moved to do so. Tip-toeing to reach the sink, Etsuko turned the shiny looking tap and turned on the warm water, then emitted an almost relieved murmur as the water ran quickly over her palms. She wet her hands, then lathered them with the lavender-coloured bar of soap which had been situated upon the rim of the sink; it smelt lovely and felt just as pleasant upon her skin, this particular soap having been left upon the sink from their last visit to the big house, which oka-san had specifically brought along as so they wouldn't have to use the cheap looking stuff that was usually given to Kiki and Hiso. Etusko didn't know if the other zodiacs were given bad soap, but it comforted her a little to know that their oka-san was atleast looking out for her brothers' hygiene, when she wasn't bickering at them. She hummed thoughtfully and rinsed the soap off of her hands before she'd turn the tap back off and dry her palms with a towel. Once she'd done this, Yoyo darted back toward her suitcase and began rummaging through her belongings for something a little cuter to wear. As she looked through, she spotted a little pink box with a silver ribbon on it, the likes of which she'd pluck from her suitcase and inspect. It took her a few seconds to realise what it was, but once the realisation hit her, Etsuko squealed giddily and then put it down on the floor next to the case, reminding herself not to forget this particular box. Yoyo spared another few seconds of rummaging through her suitcase until she'd decided that she would change into a dress: it was a light, summery frock with thin straps. The garment was mostly white, with the exception of the skirt of the dress, which was patterned with tiny, multi-coloured flowers. Knowing that she hadn't the time to untie and yank off her shoes, only to put on another, more formal pair, Etsuko compromised and simply pulled her shorts off and over them, making it so that she would be wearing a dress and green converse to dinner. How dashing.
_________Once the whole palava of pulling her clothes over her shoes had come to its inevitable end, Etsuko very nearly ended up forgetting to pick up the box she'd put on the floor as she ran out of the room in an excited sprint. "Aaah~! Wait, Chii-pan!" she cried as she hurriedly pulled a little black, faux-leather jacket over her shoulders and on to her back, worried for a moment that he might actually run off and leave her, only to find that he'd instead waited by the door for her. She stuffed the little pink box into the pocket of her jacket, grinning at the image of Éclair's face when she would eventually be handed the ribbon-bound box, before she'd waltz right out of the door and back on to the concrete. "Are Hisoka and Clare going to be at dinner, too, Chii-pan?" she'd ask, bouncing a little bit on the heels of her feet as she babbled, " It's Clare's birthday, isn't it~? Oh, I hope we see her! I wanna give her birthday hugs!~ Wait- if it's her birthday, does that mean she'll get cake? I LOVE cake! I hope she gets a GREAT BIG cake, then maybe she'll share it! I'm sure she'd share it, Clare's a nice person like that... Chii-pan, do you think Clare'd mind me calling her éclair?~ Speaking of cake, Chii-pan, do you know who that boy that smells like cake is?~". It was apparent that encountering Akio hadn't even crossed Etsuko's mind at this point, which was probably just as well- an excited Etsuko was much nicer to be around than a scared Etsuko.
