Seeing Elenore's gesture, Saans calmed down a bit ans slung his rifle back over his shoulder. He picked up the crutch that he had found on the floor and adjusted it to his height so that he would be a tad more comfortable. " I'll be a bit behind until we can find some Rad Away. The tall lady may be giving off radiation, and right now I don't want to get more abused than I already am. Besides, with my leg the way it is at the moment, I'm pretty sure once the chems wear off, I'm going to be traveling a tad slower than I normally do."

Saans opened a side pocket in his backpack and took out one of his last two jars of water. His throat was parched, and he could hardly speak without coughing at the moment. Quickly drinking the entire contents of the jar, Saans then packed it away and started to hobble after Elenore, wondering at how Bob could manage to get people that weren't hostile towards each other in a group. It just baffled him.

The scout was not amused by the woman's response. It was insulting for a surface dweller to try to call her a neanderthal, though that was because the scout didn't know how intellegent the woman in question really was. "I'd watch how you talk surface dweller, I'm not gonna have some uncivilized, bomb worshipping....ugh never mind....just watch your weapons" she said, watching as the girl disposed of her pistol before ducking behind a rock. Nodding she turned her attention back to the armored fellow and watched as she took the walkie talkie then adjusted something on his helmet, apparently not needing the radio. Suddenly she began hearing more static, a sign that a third radio had joined onto the frequency, most likely the man had a communicator in that fancy helmet of his. Jet looked at the man and cocked his head, not understanding as he was trained to go by verbal commands instead of gestures, probably not the wisest move given he was a scout's dog, but it was all he knew. Regardless he took the walkie talkie and disappeared around the hill the vault entrance was embedded in, as not to make the scout's position to obvious. She sighed as he to went into cover, pretty shabby cover, but it blocked his head and back, not like she would be gunning there anyways given how armored they were. The scout sighed as she heard the man's voice come in over the channel. "well to be blunt because your not gonna hit me from this distance, not when I have this kind of terrain advantage, and while that armor might protect you those merchants and brahmin over there look pretty unprotected, so if I can't hit your head I'll definitely hit your wallet by trashing whatever job your on" she warned, though she didn't sound very hostile, after all she did want their help, she was just saying it to show she wasn't afraid. "as for who I am, my name is Rose. Scout for vault 101. I spotted your caravan heading to Megaton and wanted to negotiate something with you" she said. Every few seconds shifting her aim between the woman and armored fella, just to be safe.

Wasteland Bob

Theme Song: Mighty Mighty Man
Location: Super Duper Mart.
Company: Target, Elenor, Saans, Meryl, and the new guy.

Bob smiled behind the gas mask as the man came up and helped him pull. "Yep, Wasteland Bob at your service" he said, giving his full professional name. Slowly they managed to drag one of the mirelurk bodies inside and Bob sighed, wiping off the brow of his gas mask, even if perspiration was impossible it just seemed like the appropriate gesture for the situation. "so guys? who's hungry?" he asked looking between Saans, Elenor and Meryl. He looked over and saw Saans limping in a crutch and cocked his head to the side. "Saaaaans...ya silly goose. See Elenor this is a reminder to watch where you step, seeing how clumbsy you are you could end up just like Saans if your not careful" he said wagging his finger, the whole bit like some sort of bad sitcom gag. He looked over to the pile of food Target had amassed and smiled. "good boy Target" he said kneeling down and petting his doggy friend, before going through all he had taken. "lets see....divided up evenly amongst all of us....ofcourse assuming we all eat the same amount....there should be....about two days worth for each of us" he said cheerfully, not even hesitating to share the food, even with the strange shrouded man he had just met. "thats right, Target go find some planks of wood, those explosions might have heated them up some, but I doubt they're cooked all the way through" he said, sending target off. He looked down at the dead Mirelurk and scratched the back of his head. "sooooo....anyone got a knife?.....a really big one" he asked wondering how they were gonna crack the things shell open and divide up the pieces.

His mind set into a whir as she spoke, he had to be sharp here, no mistakesUser Image could be afforded, the caravan was in the open, there simply wasn't enough cover for the Brahmin the merchants had their armor and were ducked behind their pack animals, but that wouldn't last more than a shot or two before the Brahmin fell. Cary spoke into his comm unit again, "You have the terrain advantage that's true, but I'll bet I have the tech, numbers and weaponry to make sure you get one shot off before I'm locked in on you." He stood facing the direction he had gathered she might be in from the shot earlier, he could be wrong of course, but years of training and combat sorties assured him he would be close enough to have his Marksman Carbine up and adjusted to the distance of the rocky outcropping above them ahead in the distance. The numbers he already knew wouldn't matter, he was the only one with a long range weapon, the scoped Carbine pulled double duty for that, he was the most armored as well but what did that help if she picked of the Merchants and Brahmin, he knew she was quite aware of the pinch he was in, that's why he found the smartest move to be to stand and at least be in the general area he knew she shot from if not in the open himself. "Let's talk Rose, I can't promise you'll like what I have to say, but I'll give you your chance." he said with a nod, the eyes in the helmet allowed him to ignore the sun, it wouldn't cause a glare, it was Ranger 101 when earning the right to wear this gear, during the daylight you turn off the Low Light Optics and had yourself a built in pair of sunglasses, with aim assistance and all, though it's the same reason he couldn't use Holo scopes and most laser weaponry, the flash would be to bright, and if the cartridge exploded or backfired he risked frying the precious tech in his helmet, it was an unlikely scenario, even EMP grenades had a hard time getting through the casing and insulation that ran through the wires and body to disperse pulses, it could be overcharged though, if too many were thrown or it was point blank range, like an overheating laser rifle. While staring in her general direction he slung his rifle back to the front of his body, not pulled up to shoot but firmly in his hands, his back was exposed to the person of interest behind the rock, but the other Caravan guard was aimed there at a quick gesture from Cary. This had to be defused very carefully to save the job, his life he was less worried about...much harder item to take.

Rose chuckled a bit at his response. "tech, numbers and weaponry huh? well I've got a whole vault full of armed fighters sitting under me, and it won't take but 30 seconds to have them pouring out ready to to kill whoever I say is a threat. So I would advise against using those particular words to threaten me with" she said back with a giggle, not able to resist the urge to do so. It was allways funny to see the raiders reaction when they saw the other vault dwellers start pouring out, and they realized just how ******** they were. There was a time when Vault 101 was filled with incompetent ego maniacs who could barely handle a 10 mm pistol, but that all changed ten years ago when Overseer Amata took charge. Now they were disciplined, organized, armed, and most importantly each one of them had been hardened by the wasteland when they reached adulthood. "look sorry about that. I didn't want to turn this into a pissing contest or anything. Trust me I don't plan to shoot anyone, so you can relax big guy" she said over the radio. To be honest she really wanted them on their side, so all this back and forth wasn't going to help anything. "allright down to business I guess. I know your delivering those goods to Megaton, or plan to sell a portion there, but I would ask you to reconsider. Those people are nothing but a bunch of lazy Brotherhood sympathizers, and if sell them your goods its just going to prove that bowing to the Brotherhood of Steel was the right move to make, and we don't want that because then others might start following suit" she said. Vault 101 wasn't part of the resistance, but even they knew that a Brotherhood controlled wasteland wasn't good for them. Due to their system of scouts and nuke proof door the Brotherhood had never been able to attack the vault successfully or force them to pay the tax. However each member of the vault had to venture out into the wastes for a full year once they turned 19, making them prime targets for brotherhood squads. Since they couldn't take the big prize the BoS had settled for zapping every vault dweller they saw and snatching their pip boys. They hadn't gotten alot of them, as they all learned quick how to train their wanderers how to avoid them, but the more settlements that caved in and became Brotherhood friendly meant those venturing out had fewer places to go, and a higher risk of getting caught. "Trust me our vault is alot safer and more welcoming to traders than that cesspit, and I can promise you double whatever your employers were expecting to make off of this shipment." she offered.

This information was much to consider, he had to take a minute to mull it over User Imagebefore walking over to the Merchants and gave them the news, they all shook their heads as he spoke with his comm off to the three in his group. When he turned his comm back on he spoke calmly, "You see how the Caravan business works is they want their cut, If I bring the amount I was supposed to earn from Megaton they'll be happy, even if Megaton complains, that means I pocket the rest between you and I, the merchants make their cut on the goods from the Caravans cut, the other guard finds his piece there, I don't see any reason I don't pocket the rest of the money to stay ahead in these Wastes, call me an opportunist but I serve no loyalty to them in the long run."
It was acceptance of an outmatched soldier, an option that included no wasting of bullets or breathes, no bloodshed, that's something he supported. Maybe too he could recruit these Vault Dwellers for a grand mission of his, maybe that note from the coat he accidently picked up at the exchange station.
Earlier in his travels he was in an exchange station for the NCR right before his run from their service, he had picked up the wrong coat when using the equipment before he had to hide himself away, when he was getting dressed and leaving he grabbed the coat of a fellow NCR Ranger but of much higher rank, in it's pocket he later realized was a note with details of an outpost that needed to be checked on in dire secrecy, due to the area it wanted to search, very dangerous and very vast, somewhere called The Divide, he didn't think he was ready yet to set out on the trek to find this station the NCR had sent men to. That was until he met these Vault Dwellers, though he highly doubted gaining their allegiance for such a dangerous area, it was a suicide run in most peoples eyes he had brought it up around, not even speaking to recruit them. He maybe could convince one or two, he planned to build his group slowly, needing the right pieces.

Avani started clenching her right fist - her gauntlet making an audible snapping noise as the gears clicked into place, the simple AI she built into their circuits believing she was holding onto something - the vault dweller's words had irked her so, what with the cowardly tactics their kind used... were it not for her time spent learning humility with the slavers she would probably have reached for her pistol and opened fire on the dog out of spite.

Coming back out from cover she picked up and holstered her laser pistol, since besides the man that had for the most part been deciding she posed minimal threat nobody was left in range appeared to care what she did with the weapon. After giving a brief look the merchants and their other guards Avani started yelling up the hill at the woman since she lacked a radio of her own, - she found her words had the tinge of anger, though she was for the most part handling it well.

"Of course you're right, I'm dreadfully sorry. I would have curtsied were I not being shot at - please forgive the suffering I most obviously have forced you to endure."

Smirked, a bit surprised he had the balls to just flat out say he was gonna screw the other guys over and take the money for himself. "I don't blame you, Wastelands a hard place. Even harder when your broke. So assume that means we have a deal then" she said switching over the walkie talkie's frequency to match that of the Vault's comm. system. "hey guys I got us some guests, the ways clear so open up and let them head inside" she said, standing up and firing off a shot to get their attention. However as soon as she did this she crouched behind a rock and kept her gun trained on the girl who was now shouting at her. "oh yes be kind enough to inform our friend that unless she has anything to offer she can consider herself uninvited." she added, switching the frequency back over to the strangers. Just for a little fun Rose took another shot at the girl's feet, basically telling her to shut the hell up. Suddenly a loud creeking and screeching of metal could be heard, as the huge vault door opened up inside the cave in the hill. Immediately a group of four guards, all in armored vault suits, carrying varying weapons on them. The weakest of the bunch was carrying a normal assault rifle, while one of them was carrying a tri beam laser rifle he had snatched off of a dead overlord. "come into the cave and lead your group into the vault. Don't worry about the guns, as long as you don't do anything they won't" she told him.

Meryl followed Bob to the door as he gesture, whilst opening the bottle of water he had given her. The taste was a bit off, the woman being able to tell that it was irradiated. She paid no mind after that, the bottle having been chugged down within a couple gulps. It wasn't a big amount, nor farther than what would soon be known as a 'shot'. The mutant held the entrance to the Mart as Bob dragged in a mirelurk, along with another person. Whatever they were doing out here, had to be stopped soon. Five people traveling all at once did not bode well for any, especially since at least a couple would die in a matter of days. Her face scowled in a curiously distrustful manner, the only thing going through her mind that somehow, Bob was just naturally charismatic. She wouldn't doubt him, but if the man wanted to bring another for the ride, she was glad to oblige. As companions, it was important to come to consensus, unless of course this new stranger tried something funny. Meryl would be able to rip him apart if the need came, and the woman's knuckles began to itch slightly. As the suited Bob carried the dead crab back into the store, Meryl kept an eye out for any intruder that may have been scouting. Unfortunately, She was not able to see past the hill's horizon, which perched just past the parking lot. Since there was no one else, the mutant decided to close the door, and follow the two men as they made their way back.

Bob later mentioned something about rationing out the food, which Meryl did not quite catch. She had to eat, in the case that they possibly came across more, even a Deathclaw, would satisfy a hunger. Nevertheless, the mutant silently agreed upon it. Once Bob commented on cutting open the mirelurk, however, that she was able to capitalize on. She walked over to the corpse on the floor, and took one knee beside it. A smirk pressed against the edges of her mouth, as the woman reached for the handle upon her chest. She unbuckled the strap holding the knife inside, and spun it within her palm. The blade aimed downwards from her pinky finger, and allowed a stab into the mirelurk's head. A small grunt came from the mutant as she pivoted the blade within its exoskeleton, and slid it to the back of its neck. Next came the chest, and the limbs in which she was able to break off with her hands. The sections were skillfully planned, as she had been doing things like this for months.

Cary looked at Avani, he couldn't show any emotion of course with the helmet on, User Imagebut he turned the speaking mic on and spoke to her, "Well, seems you've made your stand, you can try to reason with her if you'd like, but I've got business to settle up that hill, otherwise we part ways here, unless you want to charge them yourself." He gave her a nod and motioned to the guard and merchants to head up the hill, "You'll find your sellers cut up there," he said to the sellers with the Brahmin, "And you'll get your pay when you escort them back, a journey which I won't be taking likely, take my cut if they'll give it to you, your on your own otherwise." With that he slung his rifle onto his back and started his ascent up the hill to the outcropping with the tunnel into the center where the vault door rolled back from. His right hand rested comfortably on his Ranger Sequoia it could remind one of how a Samurai would rest his hand on the sheath of his sword while it was tied to his hip, like a Western Samurai wandering a vast desert instead of a forest or field, his six shooter would keep him alive.

A last straw - jokingly shooting at her feet or not Avani wasn't going to be mocked by some half wit shut-in bunch of old world tech rejects - this woman's bullying was no different than the Brotherhood.

Pulling the pistol again - the anger focusing the motion, making it fluid and quick - she aimed into the sky and fired a triad of laser shots, their dark violet hue briefly lighting the sky before falling away to nothing.

Knowing full well she could duck behind the nearby cover and run if need be she paused just briefly enough for the air to grow quiet again, her gun still pointed skyward.

"Warning shots are not an appropriate greeting - they are warnings designed to prove to one naval vessel to the other that they have enough firepower to cause damage if they are put in danger.

The term has evolved over time to address any forces wishing to prove to any second party that they do not wish to hurt someone but will defend themselves if cornered.

If you wanted me to leave you should just say so.

How's THAT for a surface dweller?!
"

Holstering her weapon she moved behind the cover and started off Northward - the North side of Springvale was a lot less full of people angry with her. And a molerat she wanted to cleave in twain.

Rose ducked when she saw the girl start shooting, and popped back up with sights on her head. However the red head took a few deep breaths and calmed herself down before she didn't anything she would regret. "Just get the hell out of here then!" she shouted down to the woman as she began walking away towards springvale. Idiot, everyone knew not to go to close to the school, it was the first thing they learned when they exited the vault. Once the girl was gone and the merchants and power armored guy went inside Rose went back to her duty as a look out, knowing the others had the situation handled.

The 4 vault dwellers inside the cave kept their weapons at the ready, but didn't show any hostility. The first three went with the merchants and led them inside to the front part of the vault to sort out the money issue and buy and sell some things, while the 4th, the one with the tri beam, approached Cary. "forgive me for intruding, but I was listening in on your conversation just in case things went south, and I'm curious as to who you are?" the dark haired woman said with a small smile. She was asian in descent, wore a trooper helmet and a thick military coat that covered most of her vault suit. Though still the the most note worthy thing on her was the tri beam resting lazily against her shoulder. "I'm Phi by the way, welcome to vault 101" she said, starting to walk inside into the deeper part of the vault, expecting him to follow.

Wasteland Bob

Theme Song: Mighty Mighty Man
Location: Super Duper Mart.
Company: Target, Elenor, Saans, Meryl, and the new guy.

Bob took his share of the preserved food and stashed it in his pack, while he left the rest in 4 little piles for the rest of them, one for each to take. He turned and watched as Meryl approached the dead crab and kneeled down by it. "ummm I don't think that knife is gonna be big enough to pierce its sh...." he trailed off as he watched the massive woman stab into and carve up the mirelurk, then began breaking off its limps with her bare hands. For a moment Bob was left speechless at the sight. "well never mind then!" he exclaimed happily, looking over all the sections of mirelurk meat. A few moments later Target came back with some planks of wood, enough to make a campfire, and Bob began arranging them as such. When he was done he stepped back and took out one of his many marvelous inventions, the pop gun. Really it was just a flare gun with a widened tube and a much more advanced spring, but hey you couldn't argue with results as the the thing was damn useful. It could fire a variety of things, from flares, to every type of hand grenade, even some more....inventive ammunition types. For now however he only needed it for a light. He loaded up a flare and took a step back. "all viewers please take caution and stay a safe distance away from all pyrotechnic displays" he said before turning his head away and firing the flare at the pile of wood. Soon the wood began to burn, and he busted open a canister of flammer fuel and poured it on to get the fire really going. Bob let out a sigh and sat down by the fire, content to let the others handle the cooking. It seemed in all his years cooking was the one craft he never really could manage. Sure it was close enough to bomb making or tinkering, but something about it just didn't agree with him. Though oddly enough baking was no problem, give him enough sugar and he could make a hell of cake. By that time Three Dog's news broadcast had ended, and they began playing music again. Suddenly the room was filled with the chorus of Butcher Pete, and Bob suddenly jumped up in excitement. "god I love this song!" he said suddenly reaching out and grabbing Elenor and began swing dancing with her.

Cary looked down at the girl as he began to follow her inside the Vaults inner User Imageworkings. "Some call me The Canaanite, some call me The Collector. I mostly survive and collect, I can't share much more I'm afraid, better the evil you don't know. All I can really say is if you hear any rumors about The Burned Man, or have any information on The Divide, you'd be of great help." he said as they walked through corridors and he split from the main group after collecting his money, sometimes a Ranger had to use different facets of his personality to survive a situation.
The helmet did a good job of masking his voice through the conversation, his identity was worth a lot by any NCR bounty signs you might see of his visage, a high reward was out for a rouge Desert Ranger, some people thought themselves bad a** enough to try and get the bounty, none yet had survived. Granted a vault full of armored warriors would be very difficult to survive, but if he had to make a move, he would play the corners and rooms of the Vault to his advantage to break the groups up for close quarters combat. He didn't think he would actually have to do that, but he always had to be prepared, it was a rule of thumb for him. "What's the story of Vault 101?" He asked to keep the conversation flowing, not only could he turn the attention away from himself, but he could gather data about his surroundings if she was as friendly as she seemed.

Avani White - "!F[_]"
Entourage: Alone
Activity: Butchering a molerat to relieve stress

Sanity, genius, realist and paranoid were lines not so clearly marked in the proverbial sands these days - she knew raiders loved to keep retaking the school and use it as a sniping perch - it was for that reason she made certain to use cover when traveling the region, to keep from being sniped; in melee raiders were poorly equipped if mildly psychotic sadist wannabes with a passion for crude trap.

"There you are," she whispered to herself, drawing her sword and picking up a rock to harmlessly toss in the general direction of the molerat - how eagerly the beast charged when it spotted Avani as fresh meat, trying to lunge for her face and neck.

Practice makes perfect - timing is everything... a lunge and the beast whipped around in a U shape to recover and attack - with the second lunge Avani's edge flickered to life, the laser edge weapon was nearly useless for blocking, so again she narrowly dodged instead of bothering to try blocking with the weapon...

It was the third charge when Avani lifted her sword, thrusting the edge down the beasts maw and flicking the blade upward to make it leave the animals body with a sickening sizzle - scarcely any blood even marred the scene, what with the way it burned to cut...

Severing and wrapping a pair of uncooked legs she started her journey back towards minefield - it had been a long enough day already.
