Namir walked up to the doors of the school. "Bruce, sit," he ordered the big puppy, who instantly sat and looked at the blonde boy mournfully.
"You can't come with me. Remember what happened when I snuck you in last time," Namir said, picking up his vilion case and patting the dog on the head.
"I'll save you some crackers from lunch," he promised the dog before opening the door and walking into the school. The dog in turn jumped up on the door to see in the window.
Namir sighed and continued to walk down the hallway.

Mitsu jumped a little when the school bell rang and the teacher rushed into class. "Hello, children, and welcome to first grade! I am your teacher, Mrs. Luka!" she said, smiling. She looked like a kind old woman. "OK! Time to take roll! OK, first... Mitsukai Hime!?" she called out and Mitsu raised her hand. "Here, Miss!" she said shyly. "OK!" Mrs. Luka said, checking Mitsu's name off on a clipboard. "Next..." she said, and called out 12 names. "OK... Aveline Maker!?" she called, and, getting no response, went to the last person on the list. "Namir Kier!?" she called out, waiting.

Aveline went over to the side of the school to find a hiding place for the day. She went around the playground a few times, not finding a good enough hiding place. She then saw the perfect spot under the stairs. Aveline crawled under on her hands and knees, probably destroying her white tights. She didnt care, her mommy would yell at her, then just buy new ones. She sat down on the ground in her new hiding place and opened her backpack. Inside was a few notebooks, pencils, and her lunch. She took out the Oriental sand which wrap wondering if any other four year olds, like herself, ate smelly food like that. Aveline took a bite out of it anyway and pulled out one of her notebooks. She saw someone walk by with a puppy and a violin case. Aveline smiled, glad that her hiding place was a success. She then started drawing the boy with his dog with her crayons.

Namir walked into the classroom he was supposed to. Of course he was late, but his mom had made him pratice twenty more minutes before he could leave. Walking up to the teacher he bowed his head slightly.
"I am sorry I am late," was all he said before walking to a seat. Setting down his violin case and his backpack down beside his seat he down and looked around the classroom.

Mitsukai looked at the boy that had just sat down. He must be Namir...He's kind of cute! she thought, blushing and hugging Pascal. She leaned toward him, since his desk was next to hers. "Hi. I'm Kai," she said, smiling angelically, her 5 1/2 foot hair shifting as she moved. She smiled and leaned back into her own seat.

"I'm-ah Namir," he replied back softly, blushing slightly and looking down at the desk. He really didn't how to talk to people unless if it was replying to a question about music. The girl was pretty though, with long blond hair. And it looked like she had some sort of reptile with her.

Mitsu smiled beautifully and handed Namir Pascal when the teacher's back was turned. "That's Pascal. He's a chameleon." she whispered. "Do you like music? Do you like the violin? I do!" she whispered, her green eyes lighting up as she smiled.

Namir held Pascal in front of him for a second unsure of what to do with the chemleon. "Uh...yeah...I guess," he replied to both questions, setting Pascal on his desk and scratching his head with a finger. He had never really thought about whether or not he liked to play the violin or whether he liked music. It was just something he was supposed to do without complaining.
"When's recess?" he asked, thinking about Bruce and hoping the dog wasn't getting into trouble.

Mitsu smiled and looked at the clock on the wall. "Um, in about... 3, 2, 1... NOW!" She cried, just as the recess bell ran. She smiled charmingly at Namir and looked at the teacher. "Go on children. Go play! It's nice out today, so have fun!" Mrs. Luka said, smiling. "Come on!" Mitsu cried, grabbing Pascal and setting him on her shoulder. At the same time, but with the other hand, she grabbed Namir's hand and happily dragged him towards the front entrance. She opened the doors and smiled more when she saw a big, fluffy, adorable puppy sitting by the stairs. "AW! He's so cute!!" she said, and looked at Namir. "Is he yours? Do you know who he belongs to? What's his name? It is a he, right?" she asked, bubbling with questions as she dragged him closer to Bruce.

Namir nodded. "He's mine. His name's Bruce, and he's a he...or that's at least what Dad told me." Bruce, having heard Namir, jumped up and ran to the boy with enough force to knock the boy down. Namir landed on his butt, and shielded his face from the puppy's tongue.
"Bruce! Quit it! Down! Stop," the blond boy said inbetween laughs. The puppy calmed down after a few minutes and Namir stood, smiling. The American Alsatian turned his attention to Kai and sniffed at the hem of her dress.
Looking around, Namir saw a girl dressed in white, sitting by herself.

The bell rang again and kids spilled through the doors, screaming and laughing that they got to go outside. But Aveline had been outside the whole time, which made her feel lucky that she wasnt stuck inside. She had drawn several pictures with her crayons, then had gotten bored and had been reading Junie B. Jones when recess had started. But just seeing all of those older kids made her want to stay hidden instead of go run around and play. There was also teachers everywhere now. This would test just how good her new hiding spot really was. She had counted how many kids were outside playing, and how many had passed without finding her. So far the odds were in her favor. Aveline smiled as she made the multicolored check marks on the back of one of her drawings of the puppy that had been sitting by the door.

Mitsu smiled and pet Bruce. "You're a good boy, aren't you!? Yes you are!" she said, giggling and kissing the dog on the forehead. She took Namir's hand and whispered in his ear. "Hey, did you know that there's a little girl close to us? I know where she is! Come on, lets say hi!" After she whispered that her hand tightened around his and she walked down the steps with him. She knelt down by the stairs and waved to the girl, her hand still clutching Namir's. "Hi there! Wanna come play with us?" she said happily, smiling angelically at the girl.

Namir shrugged and followed. He really wasn't one to talk to new people. Bruce had followed along and trotted up to the girl. Looking down at the girl's drawing, he saw what looked a lot like Bruce.

Someone had found her, and just when Aveline thought she was going to get away with hiding. But she never did. Aveline put down her drawing of the puppy and tryed to hide the rest of the pictures in her back pack. No one was suppose to see her drawings, ever. When she was sure that they wouldnt be able to see them anymore she looked up at the two older kids. She knew that one of them was Mitsukai, her mommy had talked about her and her parents a lot. Aveline whised she was allowed to grow her hair out like that. Aveline shook her head at the girls question. She didnt want to play with them, they might make fun of her.

Mitsu's smile fell, and her face looked as though someone she had dearly loved had just died. That's how sad she looked when the girl shook her head no to her question. "But... But, please? I won't make fun of you, I promise!" she said, sincerity in her voice and eyes.
