- It was taking every ounce of self control Suzaku possessed to keep him from moving. He wanted nothing more than to get back at these men. Suzaku was no stranger to murder, and while he was not a believer in the end justifies the means he felt inclined to adopt that philosophy now. Because Suzaku was not about to let another person he cared about be taken from him. He’d already lost Euphie, and she would never come back; so many times he’d lost Lelouch already, but this was their second chance, and Suzaku was not about to throw it away. A plan... he needed a plan...
But he’d never been a strategist. That role belonged to Lelouch. Suzaku was a man of action – impulsive, he let his emotions guide him, and right now his emotions were telling him to do anything in order to keep Lelouch safe. This lead to the problem of what exactly he could do, when at the moment his only option was standing still? The gun was pointed yet again at Lelouch.
Suzaku shook his head furiously. “But it was just an act!” he cried, desperate to make them see that he was the one at fault, not Lelouch. Zero was no icon, no hero – it was only Suzaku, the emperor’s knight. He’d pretended to kill the emperor and then made an escape with him! If anyone, he should be executed – he’d committed the worse crime. “If Zero is Suzaku Kururugi, the people will be happy to see me dead!” he insisted. It was no use trying to argue with these men; they were already set in their plans, and Suzaku doubted that any of this would change their minds. If anything, they would just decide to arrest and execute both of them – that is, if they didn’t plan on doing that already.
“Lelouch!” Suzaku cried as the other’s bandages were ripped away, the guard delivering a hard blow to Lelouch’s wound. He watched Lelouch with wide eyes, biting down on his bottom lip as Lelouch tried to compose himself, to look as if he wasn’t hurt by the action. The former knight visibly shook, his anger rising; he growled. They were going too far now, and Suzaku was reaching his limit. He couldn’t just stand back and watch this happen.
“If you’re going to kill me, then just get it over with.”
“Don’t say things like that!” Suzaku yelled, wishing Lelouch would put up more of a fight. The guard must have sensed Suzaku was about to move again, for he began to walk towards Lelouch, closer and closer until the barrel of the gun was pressed against the emperor’s side.
“Suzaku Kururugi, maybe we can make a deal.”

Suzaku’s head jerked towards the other guard and he listened with rapt attention. So they only wanted to boost their positions? Selfish... Suzaku hated them even more. But he did consider their words. Giving in to people like this was the worst possible thing to do; however... he may have no other choice. If it meant they would let Lelouch go... Suzaku would give them what they wanted.
Lelouch’s words made him freeze before he could agree to the guards’ terms. Nunnally... he hadn’t thought about her, but Lelouch was right. He couldn’t risk Nunnally either. But Lelouch, I don’t know what else I can do... If he had a weapon on him, or if the guards had no weapons at all, things would be different. But like this...
Slowly, Suzaku raised his hands in a form of surrender, bowing his head. The man with the gun laughed. “Please...Just let him go.”
Telling me to go
But hands beg me to stay
Your lips say that you love
Your eyes say that you hate
And I, I wont be the one
To leave this in pieces
And you, you will be alone
Alone with all your secrets
And regrets
Don’tlie.
But hands beg me to stay
Your lips say that you love
Your eyes say that you hate
And I, I wont be the one
To leave this in pieces
And you, you will be alone
Alone with all your secrets
And regrets
Don’tlie.
