It was taking every ounce of self control Suzaku possessed to keep him from moving. He wanted nothing more than to get back at these men. Suzaku was no stranger to murder, and while he was not a believer in the end justifies the means he felt inclined to adopt that philosophy now. Because Suzaku was not about to let another person he cared about be taken from him. He’d already lost Euphie, and she would never come back; so many times he’d lost Lelouch already, but this was their second chance, and Suzaku was not about to throw it away. A plan... he needed a plan...

But he’d never been a strategist. That role belonged to Lelouch. Suzaku was a man of action – impulsive, he let his emotions guide him, and right now his emotions were telling him to do anything in order to keep Lelouch safe. This lead to the problem of what exactly he could do, when at the moment his only option was standing still? The gun was pointed yet again at Lelouch.

Suzaku shook his head furiously. “But it was just an act!” he cried, desperate to make them see that he was the one at fault, not Lelouch. Zero was no icon, no hero – it was only Suzaku, the emperor’s knight. He’d pretended to kill the emperor and then made an escape with him! If anyone, he should be executed – he’d committed the worse crime. “If Zero is Suzaku Kururugi, the people will be happy to see me dead!” he insisted. It was no use trying to argue with these men; they were already set in their plans, and Suzaku doubted that any of this would change their minds. If anything, they would just decide to arrest and execute both of them – that is, if they didn’t plan on doing that already.

“Lelouch!” Suzaku cried as the other’s bandages were ripped away, the guard delivering a hard blow to Lelouch’s wound. He watched Lelouch with wide eyes, biting down on his bottom lip as Lelouch tried to compose himself, to look as if he wasn’t hurt by the action. The former knight visibly shook, his anger rising; he growled. They were going too far now, and Suzaku was reaching his limit. He couldn’t just stand back and watch this happen.

“If you’re going to kill me, then just get it over with.”

“Don’t say things like that!” Suzaku yelled, wishing Lelouch would put up more of a fight. The guard must have sensed Suzaku was about to move again, for he began to walk towards Lelouch, closer and closer until the barrel of the gun was pressed against the emperor’s side.

“Suzaku Kururugi, maybe we can make a deal.”User Image

Suzaku’s head jerked towards the other guard and he listened with rapt attention. So they only wanted to boost their positions? Selfish... Suzaku hated them even more. But he did consider their words. Giving in to people like this was the worst possible thing to do; however... he may have no other choice. If it meant they would let Lelouch go... Suzaku would give them what they wanted.

Lelouch’s words made him freeze before he could agree to the guards’ terms. Nunnally... he hadn’t thought about her, but Lelouch was right. He couldn’t risk Nunnally either. But Lelouch, I don’t know what else I can do... If he had a weapon on him, or if the guards had no weapons at all, things would be different. But like this...

Slowly, Suzaku raised his hands in a form of surrender, bowing his head. The man with the gun laughed. “Please...Just let him go.”

Lelouch was beginning to think this was hopeless. How could they work this out if they weren't listening to each other? The guards wanted power and stature so they were going to use the emperor or Zero to get that. Did Suzaku really think trying to get himself executed would work? While it was true that some people would love to see him dead, it wasn't true for everyone. Right now, Zero was an icon. If Zero was exposed as being Suzaku, then the peace that Lelouch strived to achieve would be wasted. At least if he was executed again, no one would care. They'd just see him as lucky he survived the first blow and the second would kill him. Kallen and Nunnaly would probably object to the idea, but the masses also have power.

                                    "Don't say things like that!"

Suzaku wasn't one to be talking. He was trying to turn himself in for Lelouch's sake. Didn't he understand that it still wouldn't work? They were both stubborn and wouldn't be happy without the other. Of course it would probably be easier if the tables were turned and Suzaku was the one bound and blinded. His geass would make everything so much easier. Damn them for fixing it to where he couldn't use it!

                                    "Please...Just let him go."

Suzaku was just asking for it now. "Idiot..." He breathed out knowing that he'd given in to them. Why didn't he just attack them? Even if they did shoot, it would save them a lot more trouble. Since when did he become so concerned about his well being anyway? Earlier that day, he would of enjoyed watching him be shot at and now he was turned into a marshmallow at the mere mention of it. He struggled slightly against his restraints but stopped shortly after. They were already tight on him, he didn't need them any tighter.

The guard couldn't help but enjoy Suzaku's reaction. This was so much easier than he had ever hoped. "Sorry, but we can't do that. First, I'd rather see something for myself." His eyes moved up to the other guard, signaling him to keep the gun ready. His eyes then focused back on Lelouch as he moved his hand from the male's midsection to his pantsline, invading it without warning. He smirked as his hand wrapped around an specific area on the male's body, giving him a rough squeeze to force him to react. From watching Suzaku, he already knew the male would try to strike them if they let Lelouch go that easily. He had to test his loyalty now, to see how easily that could be broken if emotions got in the way. How else could they get him to do what they wanted?

Lelouch's body tensed up already having an idea of what the male was after. Reacting to the sudden pressure, he threw his head back against the tree and attempted to suppress a moan. He hadn't even had Suzaku touch him there yet! What made this male think he could just do as he pleased?! It didn't help that his parts were pretty much virgin as well and highly sensitive to any touches that was received. "Get your filthy hands off of me! I only want Su---" He stopped his sentence not wanting to endanger them anymore.

The guard narrowed his eyes as he gave him a rougher squeeze and slapped the male across the face leaving a bright red mark. "You're in no position to be making threats." What he failed to tell Suzaku was, if he betrayed them or failed to do as he asked, then they'd have no choice but to use Lelouch's body as compensation.

      “Idiot...

Suzaku couldn’t deny that. What he was doing now was entirely foolish, and he doubted that these men could be trusted to follow through with their words. They said the would release Lelouch if Zero gave them what they wanted, but if some better idea came along Suzaku was certain they would choose to ignore ever having said such a thing. But what else could he do?

He wasn’t smart like Lelouch, he couldn’t form plans off the top of his head, couldn’t analyze the situation or think ahead. Suzaku could only think about the present – and presently, there was a gun aimed at Lelouch; the threat was very much real. Suzaku had no choice but to give in to the guards’ demands, in hopes that they would spare Lelouch after those demands were met.

“Sorry but we can’t do that...”

Suzaku raised his head again, eyes wide, desperate. “W-what? But I—!” the guard spoke over him, making Suzaku almost shrink away.

“First, I’d rather see something for myself.”

See something for himself? Like wha...

Suzaku’s eyes grew larger as the guard’s hand began to travel down Lelouch’s body, moving from his abdomen down to the rim of his pants and sliding past them, into forbidden territory, touching skin that was only meant for Suzaku to touch.

“Stop it! I’ll give you whatever you want!” he cried, knowing as he did so that it was useless. Nothing he said would make them stop – on the contrary, seeing him grovel like this would only empower them. He seethed, fingers twitching at his sides, just aching to wrap around that man’s throat and squeeze until the last bit of air left him.

Lelouch tossed his head back, the sensation of being touched – no matter who by – in such a sensitive place affecting him easily. A dangerous mixture of jealousy and rage was building inside of Suzaku, threatening to break loose.

It was Lelouch who made Suzaku finally take action. The last fragment of his sentence, even if it was cut off.

      “I only want Su—”

Suzaku knew what he’d been about to say. His breath caught in his throat, and for a moment he forgot about what was going on, the only thought in his mind being that Lelouch only wanted him. User Image

And then the loud slap brought him crashing back to reality. Before Suzaku even realized, he was rushing forward, a snarl on his lips as he tackled the shoulder to the ground.

“Don’t you touch him!” he shrieked, his fist pounding against the soldier’s jaw. “Don’t you ******** touch him, you piece of—” He had his arm drawn back again, ready to deliver another blow, when he heard the unmistakable click of the safety being taken off of a gun.

      “Not another move, Kururugi.”

Suzaku froze, trembling, not daring to move another muscle in fear of hearing the gun go off.

Lelouch couldn't believe this was happening. They had just made up and everything was going perfect and this happened. These guards were really asking for it. His sister would never agree to this. In the moment he was stabbed and slid down next to her, he knew his sister had figured out what really went on. That her brother wasn't a tyrant but really a hero in disguise. If she knew that he was alive right now, and being treated this way, the tables would turned and they would be the ones at Britannia's mercy.

"Stop it! I'll give you whatever you want!"

Suzaku...he really needed to stop that. He was just giving into the commands of these two. Whatever they had up their sleeve was no good to begin with. If only he hadn't given in to Suzaku, if he had just resisted more and said no to him, then he wouldn't care so much. That wouldn't be the case though. Deep down, he believed Suzaku always had strong feelings for Lelouch. Even if they didn't come out as love, he wouldn't allow anything like this to happen to him. Suzaku was too proud for his own good, and when placed in a situation like this, he had to swallow his pride and put on that pathetic face.

                                    “Don’t you touch him!”

His body instantly tensed up from the hard smack across his face and the anger in Suzaku's voice. He could tell Suzaku was losing his control and this wasn't going to end well. "Suzaku, calm down." He breathed out not wanting to say to much. Of course it was too late. The click of the gun only made things worse as the other guard gave Suzaku another command. He needed to pull himself together and think of a logical way through this. If he just agreed to letting them have the emperor, then he could get away and formulate a plan.

The guard growled at Suzaku as he was tackled down followed by a hard punch to his face. His eyes narrowed at the young male, but once he heard the other guard speak, he knew Suzaku wouldn't move again. In that instant he switched positions with Suzaku, grabbing a hold of his throat and slamming him roughly against the ground. It was obvious that he was furious at the younger male. He spit out a pool of blood casually to the side as if it didn't faze him. "That was not a very smart move, Kururugi." He said as he tightened his grip on Suzaku's throat threatening to suffocate him.

He let up just before the threshold where a normal person would pass out and got off of the younger male. He calmly walked over to Lelouch and threw him over his shoulder like a captured princess. He trusted the other guard to keep a firm lock on Lelouch so Suzaku didn't try anything funny. Lelouch was tossed so his face was facing to the back as the guard gazed up at him for a moment and back down at Suzaku. He made sure the male could see the male's hands turning red from the pressure of the handcuffs, along with his hand placed on Lelouch's behind. "Another outburst like that and I'll be forced to claim another region on this male." He said in a sly voice to imply that he was indeed talking about taking Lelouch for himself.

"Now for your assignment, Kururugi. In exchange for the emperor's life, you will assassinate the current leader of Britannia, Nunnally vi Britannia." Either way, it didn't matter to them. Whether it was Lelouch or Nunnally, both of them would serve their purpose and grant them the power they seeked.

Lelouch's eyes widened as he heard what the guards wanted. That was unthinkable! They couldn't! He instantly began to thrash about in the male's arms. "Don't you even touch her! You hear me! Suzaku, don't you even think about it! It's me you want right?! I'll do whatever you want, but you have to leave my sister out of this. I can get you riches, power, anything!" He pleaded. His sister had already been through enough. He wasn't about to let these males take her life as well. He'd gladly die in place of his sister.

Calm down? Lelouch may be able to keep his composure in these types of situations, but Suzaku was not like Lelouch. How could he be expected to calm down when there was a gun pressed against Lelouch’s side, and he was powerless to keep the trigger from being pulled?! Rash actions would only dig them further into their graves but after that guard dared put his hands on Lelouch in such a way, Suzaku couldn’t refrain from lashing out.

A grunt escaped him as he was shoved onto his back, the guard he’d just attacked straddling his hips to keep him in place and wrapping his hands around Suzaku’s throat with every intention of cutting off the air passageways. Suzaku felt a brief satisfaction as the guard spit blood out – he’d hit him pretty good – but it was short-lived, the lack of air soon getting to Suzaku’s head. His eyes clouded over, the edges tinged red as the word survive echoed in his mind, making his arms move in his own and move up to grasp the hand around his throat. He made a small, choked sound and then suddenly he was released.

Suzaku took a few quick gulps of air, almost choking on them as he rolled to the side and coughed into the grass. When he turned his head back to the guard, he found Lelouch being swung over the man’s shoulders. The first thing Suzaku thought of was that the b*****d was touching Lelouch again. The second was that being handled so roughly might cause Lelouch’s wound to re-open, and with the predicament they were in now, getting it bandaged up nicely again was probably out of the question.

With a hand massaging his throat, Suzaku eyed the guard warily, not missing the lewd implication made and not taking any further action because of it. He stayed on the ground, awaiting further instructions. Whatever they wanted him to do, at that moment Suzaku would probably agree to it since he felt so desperate.

"Now for your assignment, Kururugi. In exchange for the emperor's life, you will assassinate the current leader of Britannia, Nunnally vi Britannia."

      Suzaku’s eyes widened.

      No.

He felt as though he was suffocating again.

      No, no, no, no, no!

      They couldn’t...

      “N-Nunnally..?”

He couldn’t. There was no way... not Nunnally. She had already become far too involved in things, the poor girl having to witness her brother become a tyrant and then be slain before her very eyes (what a world she’d opened her eyes too... nothing but misery.) And even if she hadn’t been... Suzaku loved the girl terribly, viewed her as his own sister. He’d sworn to Lelouch that he’d protect Nunnally at all costs; as Zero, he was supposed to be her knight now.

The mere request was tearing Suzaku apart inside; he couldn’t imagine what Lelouch must be feeling. After everything he’d done to ensure his sister a better life... Suzaku couldn’t bear to look at him, afraid of what he’d do if he did – afraid of what Lelouch might think if he saw the actual contemplation in Suzaku’s eyes. User Image

He couldn’t do it, of course. But if he said no... what would that mean for Lelouch?

      “L-Lelouch, I...”

Maybe there was a way out of this. If he agreed to the plan, perhaps these guards would let him go. And while he would hate to leave Lelouch’s side even for an instant, he would have the chance to try and find Nunnally – or Jeremiah, or Kallen, or anyone – and explain the situation.

Heavily, his eyes fell shut and he bowed his head. “I’m sorry,” he apologized, knowing Lelouch would never forgive him, even if by some miracle this haphazard plan did work.

The man carrying the gun cackled loudly. "This is too easy!" He grinned and leaned closer to the other guard, the barrell of the gun sliding up Lelouch's spine and coming to rest on the back of his neck. "I'd say something's up. What, planning to be a hero?"

                                    "I'm sorry."

Lelouch head turned towards that direction hearing Suzaku give in to the demands. His teeth gritted together as his eyes narrowed, which were covered at this point but didn't make a difference. He was highly upset at this point. His hands both turned into fists ready to knock some sense into Suzaku if he could right now. "I hate you! I'll never forgive you for this." He spat out being in a spastic uproar. When it came to his sister, Lelouch lost his composure. He wanted nothing more than to make these creeps die and then knock some sense into Suzaku as well. Nunnally wasn't even a part of this and yet she was drawn into it.

He shut his mouth as he felt the gun barrel on his spine and move up to his neck. Damn them. They were going to make it impossible for the two males to do anything.

The guard smirked slightly seeing the disagreement between the two. It seemed Lelouch cared about his sister more than his own life, but Suzaku cared more about Lelouch than anything else. In the end, it would probably be best to kill both the Britannian siblings. He wasn't going to voice that to the young male though, not until he did his part. "Here. Take him. He said as he gave Lelouch over to the other guard in a light toss. Now for Suzaku...

He was very aware of what the other guard was talking about. From what he's heard of about Suzaku, he would try and be the hero. He was going to have to take care of that. There's no way they could just let him go. Even if he did seem a bit more rash than his friend here, he didn't trust him. Not after what he just did after one touch to the emperor.

He walked over to him slowly and casually. "If you're going to agree to this, then we'll need you to come with us." He said as he held up another pair of handcuffs. He reached down at the stubborn male and pulled him back by his shirt collar. He'd make sure that Suzaku knew he was in control and if he tried anything to go against him then it wouldn't be pretty. He slapped the handcuffs around his wrist, making sure to connect them behind him, just to make it more difficult. He then grabbed him again by the collar and started to drag him along. His eyes looked over at the other guard and Lelouch, signaling for them to follow right now.

What he failed to tell Suzaku was they planned to use Lelouch in anyway possible. Whether that was execution or if it was making the male listen like he had tried to do before. He smirked just thinking about it. No matter what they were thinking, there was no way out of this. The royal family will fall, and in the uproar, they will take control of Britannia.

“I hate you! I’ll never forgive you for this!”

It wasn’t the first time Suzaku heard such words directed towards himself – it wasn’t even the first time Lelouch had said such a thing to him – but they stung nonetheless. He visibly flinched, retreating a step backwards, not daring to look at Lelouch. He could hear the other man struggling in the guard’s arms, enraged by his sister being dragged into the ordeal and by yet another betrayal of his supposed best friend. Suzaku took in a shaky breath, telling himself not to react, not to try and comfort Lelouch because that might be the end of his plan, fragile and transparent though it was.

      Lelouch, please understand.

He would have hoped Lelouch would be able to tell by this point that Suzaku could never harm a hair on Nunnally’s head. With all his intelligence, why couldn’t he of all people see what Suzaku was trying to do? Lelouch was the one who made these sorts of plans all the time; how could he not see the same strategy being used in front of him?

You know I could never hurt her. You know that, don’t you?

It shouldn’t surprise him, after all he’d done, that Lelouch did not have that kind of faith in him. Lelouch had no reason to trust him after all the times Suzaku had truly betrayed him in the past.

The guard’s voice broke Suzaku out of his thoughts and he raised his head just in time to see the man who had been holding Lelouch advance on him. Unconsciously he took another step back, but then stopped himself from moving any farther once he saw the gunman had a firm grip on the back of Lelouch’s neck.

“If you’re going to agree to this, then we’ll need you to come with us.”

As he’d feared, they wouldn’t be releasing him upon his agreement to their plan. Suzaku gritted his teeth but only nodded his head. This was just a setback... He would think of something else; he could do that, he wasn’t so useless... Suzaku was doing this to protect the two people he cared about more than anything; he wouldn’t fail them. He wouldn’t lose Lelouch’s trust in him completely.

Maybe this was a good opportunity to talk with Lelouch. If the guards planned on keeping them in captivity together, he could speak with Lelouch, explain his reasoning, perhaps even gain Lelouch’s assistance. With Lelouch, he knew he would be able to formulate a better plan. His friend had said it himself: when they worked together, there was nothing they could not do. User Image

Suzaku managed a rueful smile at the memory, though to anyone looking on it appeared as if he was happily handing himself over to the guards, not struggling the slightest bit as his arms were handcuffed behind him. As he was led forward, he stumbled slightly, the grip the guard had on his collar making the fabric cut into his neck uncomfortably.

The guard now in charge of Lelouch pushed him forward roughly, catching up easily with the two ahead. The gun resumed its place against Lelouch’s back, an ever-present warning to Suzaku, who walked alongside of the former emperor now.

Lelouch was pretty much helpless in this situation. His body tensed feeling a firm grip on the back of his neck. He calculated many means of escape in his mind, but they all ended in either him being shot or Nunnally being killed. He was already highly upset at himself for not being able to do anything about it.

He listened closely to all the conversations going on to make up for not being able to see things clearly. From what he heard, Suzaku didn't make any movements when the guard asked him to come along. What was Suzaku thinking? If anything, he could of ran off when he had a chance. Not that he cared or anything. He just hoped somewhere in Suzaku that he wouldn't go through with this, but he just couldn't trust him. After he decided to keep Lelouch alive instead of killing him like planned during Zero Requiem, he wouldn't put anything past him.

It was a good twenty minutes of being pushed around before they stopped. They were in a dimly lit area where short-term prisoners were kept. Side-by-side were two cells that were connected together with bars going all the way around and through the center to section off the two. The guard gave a sadistic smirk as he shoved Suzaku into the first cell and locked the door behind him. "You'll stay here until its time for the princess to give her speech."

He nodded to the other guard going to let him do as he pleased with Lelouch. Whether that was shoving him in the other cell, shooting him in a non-life threatening place, or having fun with the emperor in front of a helpless Suzaku. Either way, the most troublesome male was already taken care of. With Suzaku's hands cuffed, he wouldn't be able to do anything but inch around the cell.

Once entering the room, what little Lelouch could see had gone dark. His breathing hitched for a moment as he calmed himself back down to his composure look. If only he could get away from them, then he could run off to Nunnally and warn her. Granted that would cause a lot of questions, but that didn't matter right now. The only thing that mattered was saving Nunnally. Suzaku was far from his mind at this point. If anything, he was picturing him as the traitor again and any words spoken to him from before were lies. How could he have gotten wooed by them? He was cursing himself inside for having a mind trick placed on him.

With that notion in mind, Lelouch decided it was his turn to fight back since Suzaku wouldn't. In one quick motion, probably the fastest Lelouch has ever moved before, he brought his foot up and kicked the side of his captor at an angle to where if the gun would fire, it would miss him while the gunman went sideways the other way. He quickly jumped back after that as he shook his head attempted to remove the visor to no avail. "I won't let you hurt Nunnally." He said in a stern voice trying to say calm and collected as much as possible.

However it was an empty threat. He couldn't see, he had no idea where they were, and the other male still had a gun. He had no place to go. Even so, he still backed away from the guard not wanting to be cause in the crossfire of his rage. He had learned that from experience with Suzaku.

They walked for a while, the surroundings familiar to Suzaku. This was where prisoners were kept temporarily, when their sentences were still undeterminable or weren’t very high. Not a heavily guarded area, now especially that the prisoners of war had all been released and freed of their charges. It was dimly lit and empty, with the exception of the four of them. The bars separating the side-by-side were rusting, bent in some areas; it was obvious the place wasn’t in the best shape, but the bars were still made out of iron and there was no way to squeeze through them or break them down. If Suzaku had both his hands, perhaps he could throw something at them to make them bend, but as it was doing such a thing was impossible; besides, there wasn’t anything to throw.

After shoving him into the nearest cell – Suzaku tripping over his own to feet and ending up sprawled on the floor, face-down – the guard left things in his partner’s charge.

“You’ll stay here until its time for the princess to give her speech.”

Suzaku’s lip curled as he finally began to struggle against the handcuffs, his efforts doing nothing but making the sensitive skin there chafed.

The gunman holding Lelouch smirked down at Suzaku before turning his gaze on his captive with interest. “What to do with you now? he wondered, a lewd gleam in his eyes as they traveled up and down the other’s body. Normally he wasn’t one to swing that way, but everyone knew that Lelouch was terribly beautiful, and in this situation he was powerless against whatever might happen; not to mention, touching him would get such a great reaction from the equally helpless Suzaku.

Learning closer to Lelouch, he brought his lips to his ear and licked the shell of it. “Boss never said I couldn’t have my way with you.” Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Suzaku fumble to an upright position.

      “Why you—”

The guard made a disapproving sound, waving his gun for Suzaku to see before jamming it into Lelouch’s side. “I advise you to just watch the show, Kururugi. You’ll probably enjoy it.”

Suzaku rushed to the bars separating the two cells, throwing his body weight against them despite knowing such an effort would be useless. He sagged against the bars, glaring at the floor and ignoring the ache in his side. “I’ve already agreed to do what you want! Just leave him—”

His voice cut off as Lelouch moved unexpectedly, kicking the guard right in the side, sending the gun flying out of his grip and onto the ground, consequently cutting it off. The bullet ricocheted off a bar terrifyingly close to Suzaku’s face and embedded in the fallen soldier’s thigh. Wide green eyes stared first at the wounded guard before raising slowly to Lelouch, awestruck.User Image

“You little b*****d,” the guard seethed, shakily returning to his feet and collecting the gun off the ground. He wanted to kill the emperor, and certainly felt as though he had a reason to do so now, but he knew his orders. Things would work out best for him if he kept the ******** alive, anyways; that way they could use both him and Kururugi. But this definitely wasn’t settled. With a growl, he advanced slowly on Lelouch, striking him in the back of the head with the gun.

      “Lelouch!” Suzaku cried.

With a low chuckle, the guard left the cell to tend to his wound, locking the door behind him. Suzaku made a sound halfway between a sob and a shout, kicking the bars uselessly.

Lelouch wasn't liking these guards one bit. They were way too pushy and arrogant for their own good. He hated people like that the most. His breath hitched again when he heard the conversation between him and Suzaku. This guard wouldn't...not in front of Suzaku...after everything...

Luckily, that he evaded that happening. What did happen, Lelouch didn't expect in a million years. Somehow he had managed to knock the gun out of the guard's hand, fire it, and make the bullet bounce back at the guard...and manage to hit him. He was beyond stunned. It probably would of been more impressive if he could of seen all this happening at once.

                                    "You little b*****d."

Obviously, the guard was not happy with him. He stepped back again, not knowing what will happen at this point. He never expected his calculations would work that well. He only planned to avoid the bullet if it was fired and to get out of the guard's grasp. He feared the worse at the point. Either getting shot, raped, or even taking it out on Suzaku. As much as Suzaku deserved it for agreeing to kill Nunnally, he didn't want to see his former friend shot at or any type of unnecessary pain.

Without warning, he felt a huge pain strike him as his body completely lost control. Within seconds, he was on the floor without any recollection of how he got there. His vision went white, even through the blackness. The only things he was sure of was that his head was killing him, and someone had called his name. He felt himself on the verge of slipping out of consciousness, but thoughts of his sister kept him awake for now.

"Stop that noise..." He whispered out. It was barely audible, but enough to where Suzaku could of heard it. The ringing of the bars wasn't doing anything for his killer headache right now. Slowly he began to inch towards the ringing of the bars, but falling short. A small trickle of blood started to fall down his face starting from his hair line, down one of his eye lines, to his cheek and onto the floor. His cape, however, had moved within reaching distance of Suzaku.

Suzaku watched Lelouch fall to the ground, immediately fearing the worst. His cries grew louder, bordering on hysterical as he lashed out at the bars, kicking with all his might and only growing more frustrated when they refused to budge. How could this be happening? How could he be powerless to stop someone he cared about from being hurt again?! Why couldn’t he just protect him? He was supposed to be able to protect them! Useless – he was useless, good for nothing but being an executioner, as that’s all he was ever chosen to be; Todou’s, Lelouch’s, Nunnally’s...

      “Stop that noise.”

And Suzaku did, his shouts abruptly halting and his legs stopping their assault on the metal bars as his head jerked upward, body trembling slightly as his eyes rested on Lelouch’s prone form. He swallowed, watching guiltily as Lelouch struggled to make his way in the direction of the cell’s divider. The only thing Suzaku could think of was how this was all his fault... If he’d never insisted Lelouch finish what he’d started down in the dungeons – no, if he’d just gone along with the original plan for Zero Requiem, none of this would be happening; neither of them would have to experience this pain. But...

But then he never would have experienced those brief tender moments with his friend. Never would have discovered the emotion that had laid dormant, stifled by his hatred... The love he had for Lelouch; he never would have realized it.

“Lelouch,” he gasped as he caught sight of the blood trickling down the other’s face. That b*****d... he’d hit Lelouch hard, and the blow caused definite damage; just how bad, Suzaku couldn’t be sure from this distance. He was hoping it was nothing more than a cut, but he had a bad feeling. “Lelouch, can you come closer?”

Already he knew the answer; it would be difficult for Lelouch to move the rest of the way to the bars, especially when he was still blindfolded. Suzaku needed to help him. The Knight of Seven cape was within arm’s reach... If his hands were free, he could easily reach out and grasp it and help Lelouch along. User Image

Suzaku bit down on his lower lip, straining his wrists against the cuffs, trying to recall a way of getting out of them. He was a soldier; he’d been trained in how handcuffs worked – how to put them on and get them off, if there was no key. If he just twisted his hand like that and pulled...

With a soft click, a cuff slid from his left wrist. That was good enough for now.

Moving back to the bars, Suzaku slid his hand between them and grabbed the edge of the blue cape, tugging on it gently. “This way, Lelouch. Here, I’m right here.”

Lelouch groaned as he heard Suzaku spaz at him for the second time. The idiot, yelling his name over and over wasn't going to help him. Why was he being so loud anyway? "I thought I said to stop that noise." He kept hearing a loud ringing sound in his head.

                                    "Lelouch, can you come closer?"

No, he couldn't come closer. He had moved as far as he could already. He wasn't Suzaku after all. He didn't have the endurance and stamina like that male did. He was lucky to be even conscious right now.

He vaguely heard a click coming from Suzaku's direction and then a tug on him from behind. He could only figure out that Suzaku must of freed himself from the handcuffs. Why couldn't he do that before? They could be out of this mess. The more he thought about Suzaku the more his head rang, and it ticked him off more. There was no winning in this situation.

"Make the ringing stop." He grumbled out. He could feel the blood on his face more clearly now, knowing that he was hit pretty hard. Personally, he didn't want to be in Suzaku's arms at this moment. He was still ticked off at him from agreeing to kill Nunnally, but he needed to be able to see again, and to have his hands free before he could get out of there. If Suzaku didn't kill him first that is.

Suzaku didn’t want to resort to dragging Lelouch closer, but if the other really couldn’t bring himself to move then he didn’t have much of a choice. He tugged on the material a little more roughly, apologizing under his breath as he knew doing this would probably only irritate Lelouch more. But Suzaku couldn’t just leave him there. The wounds needed to be checked. There wasn’t much Suzaku could do about them right now, but he could at least wrap (or re-wrap, in the case of Lelouch’s chest) then with pieces of their clothing.

      “Make the ringing stop.”

Blinking, Suzaku glanced around the room in confusion before settling back on Lelouch, brows furrowed. Ringing? What ringing?

“What are you talking about?” he asked, pulling Lelouch again by the cape, dragging him the rest of the way to the bars before releasing a sigh.

His hand trailed from the cape to Lelouch’s side, an image of how the guard dared to touch him flitting into Suzaku’s mind, making him scowl. They’d pay for that... User Image

His hand skimmed gently over the skin and moving closer to the wound on the former emperor’s chest. It wasn’t bleeding at the moment, thankfully; still, he would have to wrap it again. The wound on Lelouch’s head concerned him more, though, at the moment. His hands traveled to Lelouch’s arm, wrapping around the bicep. “Sit up, if you can. I want to take the blindfold off.”

With the blindfold gone, Lelouch would be able to freely use his Geass. Then those guards would pay for thinking they could actually get away with this! Suzaku was actually semi-proud of himself for a brief moment, believing he’d taken the right course of action.

Lelouch groaned as he was dragged over to the cell. What was Suzaku up to anyway? He acted like he was truly concerned, but it had to be just an act like always.

                                    "What are you talking about?"

Could Suzaku really not hear it? "It's a loud thumping that echos like a ring. How can you not hear it?" He winced, shutting his eyes tightly as another wave hit him. It had to be from that blow to the head, but he wasn't going to voice that to Suzaku. If there was a loud sound being made, then it would prove that he wasn't just hearing it.

He tensed for a moment when he felt Suzaku's hand on his side, and then move over his skin. Suzaku wouldn't do anything here right? Even though he, himself, was in such a helpless position, he would have at least a little faith in his former friend to wait until they didn't have metal bars between them. These bars could prove to make things difficult to begin with. It was just a lucky thing that the guard left Lelouch outside of them, instead of inside with Suzaku. However, there wasn't a doubt in his mind that Suzaku could break out of these.

                                    "Sit up, if you can."

That was going to be difficult. He pressed his back against the bars as he used that leverage with his hands to pull himself up enough so that he was sitting with his back against the bars. He was breathing heavily at this point, but was glad to be sitting right side up again. "Don't think this changes anything. I still hate you. How could you agree to kill my sister? Nunnally never did anything to you except love you." He grumbled out obviously still being highly upset about this subject.

Right now though, he just wanted to be able to see again. He knew that his geass would be the best bet to get them out of this place, but that wasn't going to happen if Lelouch couldn't get his contacts out as well. He needed his hands free. Suzaku got his hand free, so it shouldn't be that difficult.

Suzaku’s frown deepened, wrinkles appearing in the crease of his forhead as he listened intently for any type of sound. Other than the noise of them talking and moving about, there was nothing. Was Lelouch imagining things – the wound to his head making him hear things that weren’t there? That was probably the case. Damn it, and in a place like this they couldn’t even get it treated properly; all Suzaku had at his disposal were the basic wound-tending techniques taught in boot camp, and they wouldn’t be of much help if the injury turned out very serious.

“...Because there’s no sound like that,” Suzaku replied slowly, knowing Lelouch would understand then.

He was a little put off by Lelouch’s decision to sit with his back against the bars, but he tried not to let it bother him for the time being since he didn’t even know if it was intentional on Lelouch’s part or not. With a heavy sigh, Suzaku found the knot of the blindfold and quickly untied it.

“Don’t think this changes anything. I still hate you. How could you agree to kill my sister? Nunnally never did anything to you except love you.”
      User Image

Suzaku lowered his head, ashamed of himself for ever having to say he agreed to such a plan. Even if it was just an act, he felt horrible. “You have every right to hate me,” he agreed. He hated himself for it, for having allowed things to go that far. “But Lelouch... I never planned on hurting Nunnally. I could never kill her.” He shook his head, moving his hands down to the handcuffs, fiddling with them. Lelouch couldn’t use his Geass if his contacts were still in, and to remove them he needed his hands.

There was a soft click as the handcuffs unlocked and fell away from Lelouch’s wrists. Suzaku withdrew his hands. “I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I was trying to think of a way to save all of us.”
