welcome to s.omething→ cute. this is a crossover chat much like the many others you'll find out there, but here we accept all characters. yes, that's right. any character from anything. the only thing you have to do is stay in character! we will be enforcing rules here, so if you don't want to follow them, there are plenty of other chats. if you can follow rules, then welcome! we love all kinds here.

you don't actually have to read the rules, but you wont be excused if you break them. we will not kick you out the first few times you break a rule. several warnings will be issued (there is no set number of them, it really depends on the circumstances) before you are kicked. just stay in character and don't start drama and we'll be square.

one. conduct) we do not allow ooc drama of any kind. (this and the second rule are the important ones. you will be kicked out for breaking them.) obviously, we can't expect everyone to like one another, but you can pretend while you're in this thread. drama that occurs among members outside the thread is none of my business. i am not going to try and tell you how to talk while you're ooc. swear, use chat speak, it's your business. gaia has a language filter if this bothers you.

two. characters) we are actually going to enforce this rule, so listen. every chat roleplay says 'stay in character' but i still see people being ooc. stay in character. seriously. we are not going to be very strict about all things, but you will be kicked out for continuous misuse of your characters. we do allow ocs here, so use them if you want a character to behave a certain way. we do allow pokemon gijinka, with limitations, please see the oc post down below.

three. ignoring) while in character, do not ignore others for no reason. the 'i'm busy' excuse will not cut it here. if you're really that busy, you shouldn't have time to be here at all. if you are talking to three or more people, don't worry about it. if you have a character that consistently has boring conversations with another character, we also understand. we will only step in if we get a complaint, so complain if you're being ignored excessively and it's bothering you.

four. applying) send your app. to me and title it 'someone adorable'. do not apply for more than two at a time. this does not mean it's okay for you to send me multiple messages. just take two, see how that goes, then LATER (after a few days) see if you still wanna play them. you may take as many characters as you want, but if you don't play them for months on end, we may need to talk. (with the exception of characters no one else wants to play, unpopular characters) also, we do not allow more than two characters per series, maybe three, depending on how much of a 'main character' they are, how many other characters they're close to, and how close the two you're wanting to play are. (you can't play bella and also edward.) once you are accepted, post your profile in the profiles thread. one post per person.

five. formats) this is a chatroom roleplay and you will need a posting layout that includes your character's username and a picture. this is kind of a given, i think, but absolutely do not use bright colors for your text! use it on your layout, sure, but the stuff other people have to read should be dark. also no moving pictures (you know, GIFs). if you ask myself or one of the mods to make you a layout, we will. please let someone make your layout if you're new to formatting.

six. complaining) please send all complaints to me. and please, if you see someone breaking a rule, complain. just send me a pm with the form below, and it will be dealt with. your name will not be mentioned. title all complaints 'something very uncute'. if you happen to get a notice from a mod or myself, please either comply or leave. arguing about the rules is a no.
really though, i cannot keep tabs on all the characters, so if you do know that someone is being ooc, please please please bring it to my attention. we will not usually act unless we receive a complaint.

so here's the deal. you can play two ocs in total, but you must play and be active as one canon character beforehand. read the rules, then fill out the application below. just like when applying for canon characters, your oc may or may not be accepted. if we decline your application, we may not say why. you can either make another and try again, or do nothing.

one. ) take one of these two tests ( one. two. ) and then be sure to tell your score in your back story/facts, also mention which test you took.

two. ) your oc may not be from any canon universe with the exception of pokemon gijinka.

three. ) no pictures of pre-existing characters. (if you find someone doing this, please bring it to my attention.)

four. gijinka) you may play as pokemon/gijinka. you can only have one and it will count as an oc. multiples of the same species are allowed, with the exception of legendaries. some legendaries are characters with personality and may not be played as ocs (mewtwo, not mew) just follow oc rules. your pokemon may not be involved with any canon characters in any way. (quick note, specific pokemon can be counted as real characters if they have distinguishable personality. ex: ash's pikachu, yes. ash's pidgy, no.)

the love-struck event will be starting tomorrow, friday, february 10th and will go on until the 15th. you do not need new layouts or anything like that.

event underway & rule changes 2/12/2012
the love-struck event is well underway. the event has been extended and will now go on until the 17th. the rules have been changed to allow anime characters. as of today, we accept characters from ALL SERIES!

regarding homestuck 2/12/2012
i didn't realize just how popular this title was, until every day i started getting at least one app for one of its characters. due to the overwhelming popularity of it, we are no longer allowing one person to play multiple trolls/humans. you can play a troll/human and a non-troll/human or two non-troll/humans. those who already play two trolls/humans, i will not make you drop one, since the rule was different when you applied, but i would appreciate if you dropped your least favorite.

i just wanted to thank all of our active members for helping keep this thread moving. i haven't been able to be as active as i would like, but i am working to fix that. this thread is not dead, and so long as we have you players, we will not die anytime soon. thanks for sticking around. i will be more active soon, and then we'll really get things moving!

love-struck. ) your character falls madly in love with someone in the chat. it's up to you who that person is. they can't help but act a little differently around this person. will they be selfless and wish only for their love's happiness? or will jealousy drive them to madness? feel free to indicate your participation in your 'love' section on your layout, or don't.
after the event you can have your characters forget or remember, your choice!

gender bender. ) this one is old new, right? we all know how this works. in this event all your male characters are inexplicably turned into female characters and vice versa. you can have them wake up as the opposite gender, or explain it some other way.

truth day. ) during this event characters cannot lie. everything say say will be truthful, which means they may end up saying a lot more than they meant to.

ooc. ) this is the only time you're allowed to act up and have those stoic characters giggle, the nice ones turn evil, and so forth. you don't have to have them act the opposite of what they're usually like, that's just a suggestion. you can do whatever you like with them. have fun with it.

age swap. ) your characters are suddenly younger or older, whichever you choose. you can play them at a different point in the series timeline, or just have them with their regular personality in a younger/older body.

be sure to specify who is sending the information. if you send it yourself, it will be marked as anonymous, if your character sends it, be sure to say whether you want it to be anonymous or not.
