Cecil nodded a bit, forgetting that this wasn't their world, where the eating establishment and the Inn were usually in the same building... building something took money, so consolidating things was normally the best way to go about it, it took fewer resources... this realm seemed to have plenty to spare, so eating establishments seemed to have their own buildings, and Inns were something else all together. He'd have to remember that.

"Alright, we'll ask the lady that served us the sandwiches, she was very kind,"
he was about to go in to ask when Miku came back up... apparently she'd met up with her friend, which was a good thing, but they had a job and were going on a ghost hunt... he was already worried about Rosa's condition, and they'd had a lot of fighting already that day... he really thought it would be best for them to go rest, and not go looking for a fight. The girl was a nice one, very sweet, but if she'd found her friend, then she should stay with her, and he and Rosa should stick together.

"Thank you for the invitation, but in that last fight I was injured, and Rosa should rest a bit as well... I think running off to a ghost filled house might not be best for us in our current conditions." The girl that seemed to be Miku's friend came up to them rather quickly to offer her thanks, and he just smiled a little and nodded. "Thank you for the invitation though... and I'm sure we'll see each other again." Cecil had a knack for seeing people again, even if they thought it might be impossible, somehow he was always reunited with his friends.

He let Rosa say her goodbyes to the girl in private, so he turned around and went inside to buy a few more sandwiches and a box of tea to help Rosa with morning sickness... the older woman was very knowledgeable, and slipped a rather large handful of individually wrapped crackers into the bag, saying if she ate those when she was particularly nauseous, they would help calm it. He gave her a tip for all her help, and with the address of the Inn the old woman's friend ran in his hand, and bag on his arm, he returned to Rosa.

"All finished?" He didn't see the girls, so he guessed they were, and he showed her the directions to the Inn, which was only two blocks away. He told her about the tea and crackers to help her stomach, and some sandwiches for later, and before he knew it, they'd arrived. He opened the door for his wife and walked in, asking the older gentleman for a ground room, if possible. The man, who seemed rather tired have them room 102, and once the key was in his hand, he escorted his Queen back to the room so they could rest.

Squall gave her a rare, tiny smile when she seemed so proud of herself... she deserved it, she really had gotten them the information that they needed, and quickly as well. There was even a handy pamphlet that they would be able to keep with them for reference. He was pretty sure Rinoa knew just how cute she was, but that didn't matter at all to him, because he loved her just as she was... he didn't expect her to change at all... he didn't want her to in fact... she accepted him, grumpy attitude and all, so he could accept her, bubbly personality and all.

She mentioned a walk, with her, to see a waterfall... he thought about it... he didn't like being around a bunch of people he didn't know, and it was even worse that they were in some foreign land... completely different from what he was used too, which would just make him more introverted... his cool, stoic demeanor would more then likely not come down unless they were mostly alone... well there was the one, older lady, but he didn't mind her so much, she was helpful... Then again, Rinoa could be put into danger... and why would she want to go to see a waterfall anyway?

Then she started to add more things, well it was more like a hike... okay he liked physical activity, as long as she wouldn't be in terrible amounts of danger then that seemed alright... then she mentioned monsters to fight... and while they were only two, just the two of them could be a pretty powerful force to reckon with... hiking, monster hunting... alone with Rinoa, whom he hadn't really been alone with too much since she'd found him and saved him after their ordeal on Lunatic Pandora... the only time they'd gotten to themselves was sneaking off to the balcony, only to end up here...

"Alright, but we'll need some supplies, we don't have anything..." He also didn't have any money, at least not copper or silver pieces, which seemed to be what this place used as currency. He guessed he could fence something he had for some money, the griever crest he had attached to his blade was silver, but he'd hate to lose it if he couldn't come up with the money to but it back on time. The old woman cleared her throat from behind the counter and placed a bag on the counter, smiling a little at them.

"There's a monster up there, it looks like a silver wolf, but they have a horn between their ears, like unicorn, you can have all of this if you see one and defeat it, and bring me the horn. It's used for medicine here, and I've been out for a few weeks, and none of the men will go out and hunt one... I'd appreciate it."
Squall raised an eyebrow, walking over and seeing some food, water and potions for healing, as well as some rope and some random candy sticks... this was a lot of gear for one horn... and a back pack to boot... well he was normally a suspicious one, so he looked over to Rinoa to see what she thought. If she said they should take the request and the bag, then he guessed they were going on a hike...

Noctis sighed a little, guessing she was going to want to 'fight to maintain her family honor' even though he was certain they both suspected that her father at least had some sort of part in the theft, he could see it on her face. He would call her silly or stupid if he hadn't started it, which he had... it was his own fault and he knew that... but seriously, it was cold, and she was going to get frost bite if they didn't find somewhere to hide from the blizzard. It only took a moment of observation for him to see her exposed skin was bright pink, and turning red from the exposure...

He raised his hand, his eyes flashing red again since he'd lowered his guard for a moment, but his broadsword materialized in front of him and he directed it with a thought to merely deflect her gravity sped blow... in fact, he was going to use the downward motion to his advantage... not to attack her, but to save all her rather cute toes and fingers... he could be a b*****d and leave her there since she'd attacked him, but that wasn't the way he was... no matter what her father did, he wasn't going to make her suffer for it. She obviously didn't know anything about this frozen wasteland, or the crystal, that much he could see.

When she got close enough, he used his sword to smack her rapier out wide, but instead of countering, he grabbed her hand, right at the wrist, and he rather smoothy pulled his other arm out of his coat and used his position to wrap her up in the coat, and sling her over his shoulder. He held her sword arm in his hand rather tightly, mostly because he didn't want to get stabbed as he was trying to save her, but also because he didn't want to accidentally drop her when she was all tangled up in his coat... well if he was being honest, he mostly didn't want to get stabbed, that would have proven to be inconvenient.

"Calm yourself woman, it was only a question..."
His eyes were back to blue since he'd dismissed his sword, and he started at a quick trek up the side of the hill, deeper into the trees and where he might find shelter... the snow was getting worse, and neither of them were going go to survive this if they wasted all their energy on a stupid fight that wouldn't prove anything... he was impulsive, but he wasn't stupid. He made sure to keep a hold on her, no matter how much she squirmed, and he made good time to the base of the cliff they were near. The shear all actually protected them from the snow and the wind, but he knew it wouldn't be enough, and after a few moments he found a cave opening they could get into.

His hair turned a silvery color when he lit a ball of fire in his hand, the cave didn't seem to be much of a cave at all, it was a trapper's retreat, if someone got caught out in the forest working when something like this happened, they could use this place for shelter. There was even a door, wood, a few supplies... there must have been freak storms like this a lot. He let the ball of fire go from his hand and the fire spell lit the wood in the fire ring, and he finally let her go, closing the door against the bitter cold. It was still freezing inside, but he went over to the hinged box and started pulling out some things... and old blanket, a tarp, some jerky that looked pretty old, but might still be edible... some water that smelled pretty clean...

He tossed her the blanket and pointed for her to go sit by the fire, "if you value your toes at all," he added, letting her keep his coat. He wasn't sure what goddess out there thought it was a good idea for him to cross paths with Stella of all people, after what happened to the crystal... but maybe there was a reason for it. He sighed a little, feeding some more of the generous wood pile into the fire... he'd have to leave a tithe, or something behind, to thank the trappers for having the foresight to make something like this... they might have died pretty horribly if he hadn't found this place.

Cloud hadn't expected to make her cry, but he had... he was about to apologize when he realized that they were happy tears, not sad ones. She was so happy she was crying and laughing all at once... he'd thought that he was ready for whatever she might do, but that, he hadn't been expecting... it caused his body to warm, the love he felt for her just got more intense, if that was even possible... she was an angel, she truly was... she'd saved him, so many times... he wasn't the hero, he knew she was... he could feel it, she was his everything...

He kissed her back with just as much passion, pressing his body more fully against her, just so he could feel more of her skin against his. It wasn't satisfying, he wanted more, but he also found that he didn't want to rush things either... he wanted to take things slow, to uncover all the things she liked, to see just what made her writhe, or giggle... or smile up at him with those adoring eyes... did me mention how amazing it was that she only had those eyes for him? She knew how long he'd loved her... in the lifestream, all those years ago she'd witnessed it herself... but he'd never expected that she would cry for joy because he'd finally realized, after all this time, he didn't need to find where he belonged because it had always been right in front of him... he thought she should actually be rather angry at him for taking so long to realize it...

When they parted to breathe he smiled down at her, placing gentle, loving kisses along her neck and shoulders as he whispered a breathy "I love you," after every single one. When he felt all together silly, and satisfied that she knew just how much he really did love her... or at least was starting to get the idea with how many times he'd whispered it, he moved to look down at her, smoothing her hair back and laughing softly. His eyes looked very blue today, the green tint was almost gone, reflected out by the white and blue decor of the room, but it gave the illusion that he was younger... not so broken... maybe a little innocent too...

Cloud had always been a shy, worried little child, scared to make friends and nervous to be rejected... but once he felt comfortable, he was the truest friend anyone could have... then Shinra got in the way, and everything was broken down around him... and it had taken a very long time for him to find his little smile again, and even longer to find his laugh. But there he was, so full of joy and happiness that lost little boy shone through all the years of abuse he'd suffered through.

He kissed across her shoulders, and when he reached the top of the scar Sephiroth had left on her, he kissed that, leaving a trail all the way down. "You know, when we get married you'll be Mrs. Strife... my mom was always Mrs. Strife to everyone... now you will be... unless you want to hyphenate your name... girls do that a lot now, don't they?" He just seemed to be randomly musing as he peppered any skin he could reach with kisses, his little whispers both warm, and cool against her skin. "If we have a boy, we should name him Zack I think... unless you want to name him after your dad... that would be nice too..."

He moved back up and looked down at her, gently caressing her cheek... "Tifa, do you think I'll be a good dad? I never knew mine..." He made a little sound then, like his attention was taken by something else and he started to kiss her neck again, his hand wandering now, down her belly softly and over her his to ghost down her thigh... under normal circumstances his little musings might have seemed almost melancholy, but he wasn't sad, there was a sparkle in his eyes that was never where then he was sad... it was almost as, he was allowing himself to actually believe that they would be married, and be happy... and it allowed him to talk about his mom, and Zack and remember the good memories instead of the bad.

Zidane had to manage not to moan softly when Dagger started to wiggle a little, their current positions made it extremely hard for him not to enjoy the movement, but he knew if he liked it too much, certain problems would... pop up... and all he needed was her freaking out and calling him a pervert and alerting the security people to their clever hiding space! He clamped his arm down around her to pull her closer so she couldn't apply any friction to already... tender parts of his anatomy, and she seemed to get the hint and she stopped squirming around.

He sighed a little, she was just resting against him now, rather then fighting him, and he was grateful for that... as much as he might like to be alone with her, in such a position, he didn't fancy doing that on someone's roof, hidden in an overhang between rock and some sort of air vent for a chimney... She was cute though, and even if she chastised him for it, he didn't care... he'd already said it, so he wasn't taking it back... she was cute... even if she was red faced and a little sweaty, he didn't care, it was sexy... she should know that he liked all sorts of girls, especially girls that were a little devious or tricky... and he'd taught her how to be a common girl, and she'd shown just how brilliant she could be... how resourceful... something like a little sweat was nothing...

Hell, when he was making her gasp with pleasure one of these days, there was no way she wouldn't get sweaty, and he didn't want her freaking out during that... it was important for her to be relaxed... if she was worried about some water on her body, other bodily fluids were really gonna freak her out! At well, he'd just have in ensure that she was a quivering mess so she didn't have time to think about things like that... he was sure he'd be up to the challenge...

The genome looked back at her when she started to whisper at him, giving him a lecture... he knew it was coming, and it was cute that it came so expectantly... he wanted to kiss her again,,, now that he'd been allowed too, he found that once was certainly not enough, but she was already mad at him, so he didn't want to push his luck... he was really already pushing it far beyond anywhere he'd ever pushed before... he guessed she was being lenient since he'd been thought dead and what not... which he understood was his fault, but he'd gotten there as soon as he could! The performer in his just had to do it in a really unique way... he'd already said he was sorry for that...

Then she made it seem like staying with her was a prison sentence... he snickered a little, leaning forward so he could kiss the top of her head, since that was all he could reach. "You seem to be under the impression that I'm not staying... whatever gave you that idea? I told you, I'm back, I'm never leaving you alone again... and please don't talk about our amazing life together like it's some sort of prison sentence, I want to marry you, not be shackled to the foot of the bed..." Then he pondered that, in a certain way, that could be fun... however he wasn't going to tell her that... she might do it and leave him there to teach him a lesson... his little minx was crafty like that!

Allowing the water to cascade down his body, white bangs hung in the way of azure hues. Any means to swipe at this usual annoyance however seemed non-existent, Nero’s body was lax, dare one say…tame? This really wasn’t a word to describe the rebellious youth for he was someone who tried his damnedest to not follow the guidelines of society. In fact he followed to the beat of his own drum, did things how he felt they should be, and gave little to no crap about what others thoughts on such. Screw em was his motto, the only one ever an exception to that was Kyrie. At the thought of her, a small smile tugged on his lips free from the gazes of others he allowed just a moment to be vulnerable. Despite how the sand and water mixed and felt pretty much like nasty gunk on his bare skin at first, he was too focused on what laid ahead. Not just for him, but he could finally and confidently think, for the two of them. It was elating, liberating that all the years spent gazing upon her longingly were finally gone. There was no shame now that he loved her, no…fear of rejection for “what” he may be rather than “what” he felt. There was only…moments now, acceptance, things Nero felt once upon a time he would be denied from.

And damn did it feel good, as a soft chuckle left his lips as both a human and clawed hand slowly rose up, digits pushing up the pesky bangs and resting upon his eyes. A boyish grin broke out at that moment, a soft content hum of ethereal blue light shinning along the shower walls. “Heh….” The slight noise of happiness normally wouldn’t have made itself apparent. Not to say he had a stick up his a**, but for a lot of his life Nero relied on keeping his guard up. It happened when you were an orphan, people felt they had the right as self righteous pricks to jab at you, and your supposed questionable bloodline. Come to think of it….now he couldn’t quite get why as a youth he’d narrow his eyes and threaten anyone that called his mom a supposed “prostitute”. Why’d he care about some brood he never met? She’d made it clear, along with “daddy dear” he’d been nothing more than a used Kleenex. In between the darkest moments when the devil bringer began to take over his arm, darkly he hated them even more. Because stupidly he’d reasoned they birthed a freak of nature and it was suddenly catching up to him now. A demon…something both feared and despised something he grew up knowing, adapting and the one thing he allowed to follow. Well maybe as a youth the feared part, now he just found them kinda annoying.

But…back when his arm was beginning to look like a devil’s ….damn did Nero hate himself, teen angst he supposed amped up to tenth degree. More so because he was becoming the very thing he was “told” was bad…and also because it was going to dampen the one person that made him happy. He really did feel like if she knew…she’d hate him…because that’s all anyone knew on Fortuna, hell even he hated himself. But by some miracle….she looked past all that, accepted him, and loved him…for Nero. “Sometimes Kyrie I don’t think ya get…. Just how happy you made me” he spoke to himself, grinning relaxing once more to a warm smile. “Which is why…I’ll never take that for granted, no matter what” and he meant that, as his clawed hand slowly dropped to his side. In one fluid motion, his human hand had sleeked back his thoroughly soaked locked, allowing Nero to open his eyes without piece of hair annoying dangling there. Their first “date”, it wasn’t to be something spectacular but to him? Doing anything with Kyrie went beyond cheap a** gimmicks some douches used simply to woo a chick in the sack for an easy lay. He wanted to be able to do things with Kyrie up until his final moments, everything he did he wanted to be done not because he could because he meant them. He would prove through his sincerity his love, because that….was Kyrie. She was….the most sincere girl he’d ever known. And he’d honor that, and love that about her as long as she’d let him.

But look at him getting all weird and sentimental, as he shook his head and decided enough bull shitting, he had an angel to take out to wherever she wanted (and….wallet limit….damn greedy money moochers ). It didn’t take long for him to be fully showered up after he set his mind to it, soon turning the knob causing the shower to die down. Hair still sleeked back, Nero stepped out, wrapping a towel around him self. He faintly scowled when he realized he’d be stuck back in his sand coated clothes, a low annoyed growled letting out as he tried to swipe and shake away all he could. Guess…that was the best he could do, as he worked on drying himself off and soon clothing himself. It felt…odd to not cover up his demonic arm up, he debated it for a moment, but decided if Kyrie could well….maybe he could to. So he decided….to not roll down his cloak sleeve, as he situated his weaponry back into place. Gazing at the mirror, he chuckled at the sleeked look, that was way too damn tidied up, prim and proper for his tastes, Using a hand he tousled his hair until it sat messingly about, soon satisfied. Nero having no idea..just how “similar” he might’ve looked to a certain Son of Sparda. One….he knew nothing about yet still carried that one’s blade in his possession.

It was probably best though, as Nero strolled out of the bathroom, sweeping his gaze before making sure he had this gold on him. Yup….there we go, that’d be a real kicked to not have that. Now ready, he exited the room eager to once more reunite with Kyrie. He did however give a quick glance to where he last remembered Pops to have gone to, “
Better not screw this one up Pops…
” he warned, knowing he couldn’t be heard. But damn, as much as he was a punk….Nero wasn’t the type to be an a** either. If Pops really loved Lady….he needed to man up here and now, Lady was…well a pretty lady. And if what he felt was really true, if neither owned up to it? Both would go there separate ways and something about that…made Nero frown faintly. ….Oh crap not like he was going to be sentimental to the “old man” turned….”Kid”! “ …Hate it when ya do that…” he muttered immaturely before descending the stairs. As he reached the bottom he saw Kyrie stand up, a charming smile crossing his face at that. Extending his hand out to her, Nero really did love that smile she had, it was contagious and that was something hard to do with him sometimes. “ Guy can get used to being believed in, especially when its you” he replied, her hand fitting in his as he made sure to keep a gentle grip upon it.

Soon both departed the inn, in search of some promised food. He was leaving it up to Kyrie however, where she wanted to go. He watched her look about, more fascinated by her curiosity than the new places. He’d be lying if he said he kept looking head on, because as a matter of fact he hadn’t looked there. The only thing he kept looking at was honey hues, till Kyrie’s voice broke the trance. Blinking at that Nero reluctantly looked to where she was eyeing, a café huh? “ If that’s where you wanna go, then that’s a good place for me too” he said as he walked a bit closer with her. It looked like a café….he wondered though if they were like the ones back home…or if café here meant something else. Hell….as long as it served food then it was all fine and dandy. Moving to open the door Nero grinned a bit over at Kyrie. “ M’lady~” he chuckled, giving another little mock bow to allow her to go in first. Ladies first and all that jazz as Nero waited for her to walk in before he did as well. “ See? I can be a gentleman…when I want to be anyway” he teased as he looked towards her hand and once more entwined their fingers. He wanted to be close, and to show everyone that he was hers, and she was his. “Well looks like the places back in Fortuna at least…” he mused, as he looked about with a curiosity of a kid in a candy store to some degree. Pastries on display caught his eye at first, gazing at them as brows furrowed in concentration. Now what would he shove into his face first? “
See anything you like? Only limit is as much gold as I got on me, and even then…can always flush some…”pests” out for some extra pastries.
” Least they could do, be walking money bags! …Even if that would require a “job”….technically. s**t.

Wanna just get a whole bunch of things and try em out? “He questioned looking at her. That seemed like something that might be “date like” ….but to hell if he was going to do that dopey take a bite and then her deal. Dunno…it just seemed clichéd to him, as he timidly raised a demonic finger to sweep along the displayed goods. “ We can even cheat and get sandwiches and a whole bunch of pastries, screw that strict lunch bit” he half-grinned as eyes glimmered. “
Member when we were little? And we saw that huge a** cake? And we both stuck a finger in it, and then hide under the table?
” it was…silly. How back then something like that seemed so rebellious, even if someway, people didn’t appreciate someone sticking their fingers into a cake meant for someone else. “It’s kinda funny…we always did stuff together back then, think maybe…its just…right? …I can’t imagine you not being there Kyrie….just know no matter what? I’ll always be there for you….even when we taste test other people’s cake” he chuckled amusingly, but his eyes held a look of compassion that could only be for her, his love.

The Mighty Crow and the Leader of the Saica Faction

Magoichi was walking away from the Lord she finished her contract with as she held no bond with them any longer. As the woman walked though she came closer to her squad, the ever feared Saica faction. Their name was spread through the lands as one of the most feared groups. Though for her she suddenly froze, her eyes widening a bit as she noticed all the color vanished from around her. This caused her to reach for one of the many pistols on her leg as she pulled it out of its holster, reading to fire on what ever caused this. Her first thought was this was due to that damned demon lord Nobunaga Oda but then the thought vanished as she realized a room of light was not a sign of a devil of darkness and hell.

Suddenly she was ripped from that world and appeared in some sort of odd town, her red eyes scanning around to see if she could find the source, the summoner perhaps or the creature that brought her here. She then realized that it was a normal looking town as she searched around her for her squad only to realize she was a lonely feather without the rest of the mighty crow. This caused a ping of anger to ignite deep in her chest as she shoved her pistol back into its home only to cross her arms, closing her eyes for the moment as she thought over a few things. Within a few seconds she began walking down the street in search for some answers.

The mercenary seemed to notice a nearby weapon smith as she arched a brow, perhaps that was the best place to start. She made her way into the store only to glance around and noticed the odd weapons. Sure she only used firearms and rather powerful ones but these weapons seemed like they were of English decent. This made her wonder if she was even in Japan anymore. She pressed her lips together as she walked up to a long sword inspecting the blade. " Like what ya see miss? Better then those little pea shooters you got. So why not buy a sword and find a man to wield it for ya? " He jested only to laugh, though when he looked back at her a triple barreled shotgun was in her hands and pointing for him. "Forgive me I see no humor in laughing over one's abilities you have just met. These guns are far stronger then your ill-tempered weapons. I see the spotty workmanship without even holding them. Even that fool Keiji has a better sword then you. Now if you do not mind I will be taking my leave. Also, I need no man to guard me, I am quite capable to guarding myself." When she said that she made ehr exit, slipping her shotgun back into its resting place with a slight smirk on her face. She took joy in that , after all the man was sweating bullets but at least he wasn't resting on the floor due to bullets.

From there Magoichi continued to walk through the streets with her arms crossed under her chest, glancing around for the next possible place to go. After all if the weapons dealer was a bust then perhaps the local bar would be fine. The woman caught sight of a nearby inn only to make a mental note of where it was, after all she would likely need a place to stay. Though she had her fair share of times of sleeping on the ground around a fire as well as bathing in a body of water. Being a mercenary didn't give her the privileges of enjoying the finer things in life.

She eventually just found herself resting under a nearby tree with her eyes closed, the sole of one foot resting against the bark of the tree as she seemed to be thinking over what could have happened. A lot considering Nobunaga was able to travel from hell to the world of the living quite easily. So perhaps he sent her here before she was able to slay him with her bullet? That was the only likely explanation in her mind as she just now was thinking of a way to get home.

He didn’t even waste any breath on responding back to Alex’s nonsense. The Son of Sparda was sure he would have recalled anything he had said! However, Vergil didn’t take into account how when a mind was more out of it than conscious, it could easily forget what had happened during those moments. Even if he did though, his pride wouldn’t allow him to admit the idiot could have been telling the truth. For that meant Vergil could have said anything during those moments. Things that he would never want to anyone to ever overhear. Not even his own brother. Luckily though, Vergil’s silence was met by Alex’s silence. That almost made the Son of Sparda show surprise. But, impassivity won out as he enjoyed the chocolate on the doughnut and prepared himself to leave the train.

As he stood out in the train station area now, he had no idea of the thoughts swarming through Alex’s head. Let alone the fact that he had even said two words that would have disgusted him. After all, such words showed gratitude to someone, and Vergil was not grateful to anyone. He would never put himself in someone’s debt, and even if he did, he would never thank the person. Not only would that infer that he cared enough to show a “human” weakness, but that would show he trusted the person. After what Arkham did to him, he realized that putting any sort of trust in anyone was just going to end up hurting him. Thus, Alex was likely wise to not tell him he had said “thank you”. For he would have taken back or denied those words within the blink of an eye.

But now, the aforementioned idiot was getting on him for previous events. Vergil, in turn, told him exactly how he felt about the matter. Some would have considered his words harsh. Vergil, however, considered them to be only words spoke out of blunt honesty and nothing more. If someone thought that too hard to take, then they shouldn’t be anywhere near him. Though, the Son of Sparda had some idea that would only piss Alex off more. Then again, what didn’t piss off Alex? He kept his back to Alex as the idiot seemed to have been “insulted” by his words. Tough luck. He wasn’t going to take any of it back. Maybe out of some respect, or honor instilled in him, he let Alex speak until he saw an opening for him to make a comment.

“You make it seem like I “need” you to get information out of someone.” He looked out of the corner of his eye and turned his head slightly over his shoulder. Enough to at least look like he was giving some acknowledgment to Alex’s presence. “However, just like you don’t “need” me to sense out demons, I don’t “need” you in order to get her to tell me how to get back.” He started to turn around slowly while his arms remained wrapped around his ruined cloak. “So, let me make one thing clear. This alliance is a matter of “convenience”. A way to make getting back to where we were before be somewhat easier and faster. It is not a matter of “necessity”.” The Son of Sparda turned fully now and faced the angry male before him. “Have I made myself clear, or does your idiotic mind need even more clarification?”

When Alex stepped closer to him, his turquoise hues only stared coldly and impassively into those steel blues hues. His gaze could almost be described as icy with the way his eyes never gave off any warmth, let alone even an inch of ground. For if there was two things quite obvious about Vergil, it would be his stubbornness and his almost seemingly lack of a heart. His turquoise hues only showed those traits in a more obvious light. “Wouldn’t that be counterproductive to drag me all the way back to Hades, or did your mind forget that back-tracking is not the way to make this matter get solved as quickly as possible?” The way Vergil spoke almost made him seem like he viewed Alex as simply an ignorant child. In some ways, that perception wasn’t too far off from Vergil’s opinion of the male before him.

Though now, Vergil took note of the fact Alex’s expression almost seemed to turn feral. Had he stuck a nerve in Alex, or was Alex simply giving into his more animalistic instincts? With how he acted, Vergil wouldn’t be surprised if Alex was more animal than human. “Very well, and I shall give you the same treatment. For as they say, fairness is one of the greater “virtues”.” A hint of sarcasm lingered on his words since Vergil was by no means a person of “virtue”. However, when they started getting on the idea of “feigned kindness”, he observed a change in Alex’s tone. The anger that once shined through now appeared dimmed now. Yet, Vergil was no fool to think Alex was still not angry. It was if now though that they were taking about something that angered Alex more than he wanted to let on.

The curious part of Vergil found itself wanting to know why that was. Maybe out of a way to manipulate Alex for later use, or maybe because Vergil wanted to see what could possibly make such an outspoken man hold back his emotions? After all, Vergil would never admit to showing concern he did not feel, or show just simple curiosity when he was not sure it was truly there. But, that urge to know allowed Vergil to remain strangely more focused on each word that left Alex’s mouth, as if trying to gain some hint. The only thing Vergil could even guess at was that maybe someone had feigned kindness towards him? The thought almost caused Vergil to scowl. Not because he cared if that happened to Alex, but because he knew how such a thing felt because of Arkham.

However, even if that was possible that Alex had experienced the same thing, Vergil would not admit to understanding. That would not only make it appear like he gave a damn about Alex, but also make it seem like he wanted to find someone that understood him. He didn’t need either understanding or another person to hurt him. All he needed was revenge, and the power to get that revenge. Nothing more, nothing less. “How would you even know the kindness is feigned?” He furrowed his eyebrows a little as his lips tugged faintly into a frown without his permission. “After all, when one aims for betrayal, they have to make every act to you so convincing that you have no reason to not believe them.” He didn’t know why he was speaking like this. Yet, Vergil found himself unable to stop the words from leaving his lips.

“For unless you have the ability to see through deception, then I suggest you learn here and now that everyone is naturally deceptive.” He took just one step closer to Alex, his turquoise hues almost seeming to bore cold icy holes into those steel blue hues. “Everyone only wants what they want, and they will not give a damn for how they get it.” The Son of Sparda stood his ground and didn’t move an inch away from the man who had just threatened to harm him. “So…if you want to harm me for something that everyone does….go right ahead. For, while I could do so, I have no energy to waste my breath on feigning such a…weak emotion, especially to someone like you.” Harshness edged the last of his words as he soon got on Alex for his odd analogy.

He shook his head as Alex only seemed to further his stupidity. He was really starting to question how someone could be so idiotic! “There is nothing lodged up there. For if there was, I wouldn’t be able to walk straight, now would I?” The Son of Sparda stopped himself from rolling his eyes. After that though, Vergil had to once more hear Alex go on yet another rant. His eyes narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed once more at the insults Alex threw his way. While Vergil knew that he should take them with a grain of salt, his pride made him want to defend himself to the bitter end. Even if Alex wasn’t worth even a single breath. “And all I see is an idiotic man with some delusion that he can get whatever he wants by looking like an uncontrollable PMSing woman.”

When Alex went on to comment on his tiredness, Vergil turned to turn to face away from Alex. “And I suggest you keep your mouth shut if you have nothing “smart” to say. Unless you don’t care to keep any dignity to your name?” After that though, Ezio and Seven came over. They did really seem to have good timing when it came to getting Alex to shut up, or at least direct his attention away from him. The distraction didn’t last long though as they soon split up and Alex got on him once more. However, the words that Vergil said to Alex appeared to have fallen on death ears. All because Alex had suddenly gone a bit mental and thought the red eyed woman was something she likely wasn’t. Vergil wasn’t about to waste his time on the matter as he entered the store.

While his tastes were picky, they also tended to narrow his search when it came to what he wanted. Thus, after a few minutes of looking, he came across an outfit that would do for now. He paid for it with the money he had on him and then went to go change into the outfit. Once he did that, he put his old outfit inside a backpack that he also got. Might as well have a way to carry his things right? With that done, Vergil had planned on possibly looking for a hoodie in order to temporarily pacify the annoyance that was Alex. But, before he could, he looked towards the streets to see Alex with claws out and ready to strike. He shook his head as he slowly moved towards the threatening figure.

Though, instead of running away like most might have, he took out Yamato slowly and lowered his body to swing his leg. Once he knocked Alex off his feet, he immediately pressed Yamato against Alex’s throat and glared icy daggers at the incompetent male. “If you want to waste your time on stupid delusions, at least have the intelligence enough to not cause a scene.” Vergil likely wasn’t doing much better at the moment. But, he was more focused on stopping Alex than on how others perceived his own threatening actions. “Otherwise…I think even your mind could comprehend what would be my next course of action.” He pressed the blade a bit against Alex’s neck as if to prove his point. However, Vergil noticed something odd when he did that. Where was Alex’s blood?

He was sure he was pressing down enough to make Alex at least bleed a little. Yet, there was nothing. It was just like yesterday when he had slashed at Alex and the ignorant man produced no red substance. Not even something acidic or anything remotely resembling a life substance. For not the first time since Vergil met Alex, his mind wondered back to one important question. What was Alex? But, just like the other times, Vergil shut off that train of thought and pulled Yamato away from Alex. “So, why don’t you actually show some intelligence for once, and either end this delusion driven stupidity, or take it somewhere else to where this doesn’t somehow come back on me?” With that, Vergil started to put up Yamato with only a single impassive sent the two women’s way.

Lady was in quite a bit shock over it all, Dante's reaction was a bit funny considering the man had dropped his pizza and even his jaw. Did he not think he was the one? Lady wasn't that special of a woman to catch a devil hunter off guard this much was she? She almost wished she hadn't told the man but she needed to, after all she might never get this chance again. Considering this odd time travel place might rip them apart and she wanted to make certain to not hold this regret in her chest any longer. Though for this being younger Dante she was caught off guard herself with his reaction. She was kinda disappointed but also flattered with how he went about it all.

It seemed that Dante offered her a chance to wait until she got back to the older Dante of her time. He asked her a lot of questions over her being certain, especially when she said she kept herself pure ,. in that sense, as she waited for Dante to take it from her. Was he really that much of a gentlemen under that joker sort of personality he displayed even at that age? She could feel her heart swell and rise up into her throat, her face grew a deeper shade of red as she seemed to smile a bit , more and more with each passing second.

Lady let the man finish what he had to say as she seemed to chuckle, shaking her head as she slowly sat up, her eyes seeming to beam with happiness, a smile ever present on her face as she seemed to tilt her head to the side. " Being such a gentlemen huh Dante? Gotta say, you caught me off guard, I have expected you to jump me the moment I said all that. But, kinda glad ya didn't...though... " She said as she stood up and walked over to the man as she stood before him with her dual colored eyes looking up at him. "Am I not good enough for you? " Lady seemed to pout slightly only for a soft chuckle to leave her lips only to shake her head, ruffling her own brown hair. "I think its the other way around. You are quite the guy, saving and helping some random Lady that shot you in the head when you saved her. " She then seemed to raise her hand and slapped him ever so softly on the cheek only to rest her hand there as she seemed to smile more. "Thats for saying you are just some kid in your father's shadow and your brothers....as for what happened to Vergil...I can't do anything for that but be your shoulder Dante. " Lady felt slightly guilty considering she was present when the twin was falling down the dark path and could have stopped him somehow. Then a thought hit her as she had a hopeful look in her eyes ."Well...he might be here and if he is here then we can save him. " She was trying to comfort Dante as much as she could, after all what if Vergil was here, that would mean he would be alive and hopefully away from the dark path he once wandered.

The woman then shook her head a bit ,"See...now I am getting off track, and here I hoped when this came up I would be cooler and level headed, not some girl trailing off on multiple subjects. " She then looked to Dante only to stand and made her way towards him. " Partners? I want to stay partners, I will always be at your side but I want to be more. I am you friend but I want to be yours...mind, body, heart, and soul. I guess girlfriend is a easier term to say. " She wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and moved closer to his face , her breath now dancing on his lips as she whispered."Dante....if I know anything it is that I am a hundred percent certain that I....." Her blush deepened, what it was hard for her to admit this! "I want you to be my first...and hopefully last... Dante...I love you...and you asked me if I wanted to wait for the older you to catch on....all I have to say is, younger, older, demonic, human....as long as its you Dante...nothing else matters. I waited long enough honestly and this is probably going to be the last time I am ever going to be brave enough to tell you....so if you never want to let me go Dante...now is the best time to grab me and claim me as yours....cause, I can tell you now. The pizza is not the only hot thing around. " She said with a slight innocent but naughty smile, this was much harder for her to admit. After all she was vocalizing her bodies reactions to Dante and it was rather personal.

She then closed the distance between the two as she kissed him rather deeply this time, pressing her body up into his as much as she possibly could. Her hands ran up to his hair and ran through the silver locks as she seemed to show all her assurance in this kiss. It was heated and filled with passion as she even opened her mouth this time and used her lips to do the same to Dante's. Her tongue danced with his as she lost herself in the moment and flavor. Though she stopped after a few moments as she rested her head on his chest, her hand grasping her coat as she shook and she couldn't hide it as well as Dante did. But as she shook she had a large smile on her face and tears of joy welling up in her eyes as she muttered. "I never want this to end Dante... I don't want to go home because if I am with you, then this is my home...I can't believe this, I said it. I love you Dante.... I really do. " It felt nice, she knew he was the one and she felt it rushing through her body. To think a once demon hating woman would fall for the king of demon's son...it was quite a humorous thought when you pondered over it.

Balthier acted like he was completely ignoring Basch, however he did listen... Her Royal Highness seemed to want to recapture those bygone days and pretend to be a commoner again then... so even a pet name like Princess was out... as horribly tempting as it was to keep calling her that just to watch Basch pop a vein, he didn't really want to make Ashe upset, so if she wanted to be a normal girl, then he'd begrudgingly treat her as such. He was fairly certain however that a certain Judge was only in the business to completely ruin his fun... in fact he was pretty sure of it...

Of course the pirate actually liked the stuffy knight, if he had to be without Fran he was one of the few people he trusted to have his back... mostly because his moral code made it impossible for him to stab him in said back... well unless it was an accident, he wasn't going to talk about the one time Basch had accidentally done just that when they were fighting a rather annoying batch of tomato headed alrune and a sand dweller sneaked up behind them and hit the knight with a berserk spell. He'd long since forgotten about that... well maybe not, but as long as there weren't any berserk spells, and he wasn't in the way if there chanced to be one... then he would be fine...

As he looked over the menu, he did realize that the notation for the monetary value was not in gil... well this could be a problem. They accepted silver and copper pieces, what on Ivalice were those? Some archaic form of currency, no doubt... or perhaps it was truly precious metal? Balthier scratched his cheek a bit, since Fran already said she wanted a salad... no surprise there really, and he waived a waitress over. "My dear girl, I'm not sure what sort of monetary compensation you will accept..."

The pretty girl looked at the take, her eyes lingering on Fran a bit which made the handsome sky pirate narrow his eyes a bit, then he waved his hand a bit to get her attention back on him. "Ah, well I'm guessing you aren't from around here. We only accept copper, silver or gold... no foreign money."

"Well, then that is a problem, what of jewels? I have a few, loose stones, we are quite famished."
She scrunched her face up and looked back at Balthier, who was giving her his best, dashing look.

"There is a jewelry exchange two stores down... if you have stones I'm sure you'll get enough for a meal, I'll get your orders started, then you can go cash them in."

The pirate smiled a bit, nodding... that would be perfect, then he could just run two doors down and exchange the gems he had, though that would tap his fund... he didn't carry much on his person, since most was on the safe in the Strahl. "Then I will order a coffee, and a half roast beef on the wheat roll with a salad. Take whatever my friends want, and I will return promptly." He glanced over to Basch with a look that said he owed him big time, and the Judge just sighed.

Balthier slipped down to the exchange and spoke with the woman, offering her a very nice, rather large ruby in exchange for three hundred gold... it seemed a pittance for what the gem would fetch at home, but looking at the diamond in the case and seeing what they 'ran' then he supposed it was the going rate for this land. He took the bag, and bought a another bag so he could divide the gold between the four of them. He took half, then placed half in another bag for Ashe and Basch to share. He strolled back down the street and slipped into his chair before the food had even arrived, so he tossed the other bag at Basch, knowing he'd rather carry it so no one tried to pickpocket his princess... err... Queen... right, no pet names...

Basch felt rather bad, not pulling out the seat for Ashe, however she wanted to be treated as everyone else, which meant even the little things. He figured that, if they were not in public, he could probably treat her like the royalty was was, however if she was serious about not exposing her lineage, then he really had to treat her as any other girl. Then he reached over and he helped her scoot the chair in because he just couldn't stand not helping her, silently apologizing... he could have just been a gentleman and people would have just thought him old fashioned rather then assuming that she was royalty or something like that...

He truly had no idea how he was supposed to act... even when they'd been adventuring he'd still treated her somewhat as a princess, but she wanted them to be friends, and really he wouldn't have helped Fran or Penelo with their chairs... though he did think that if was Balthier and Vaan's jobs to do so, if the ladies wanted the help... so then, why did he automatically feel so bad about not pulling the chair out like every other time he had... he wasn't sure actually, all he did know was treating her like a normal girl was going to be much harder then he thought.

The pirate, of course, was the first one to notice the money problem, and to be honest all he had was some gil, and while he got paid a handsome sum from Emperor Larsa, he did little with the money itself. He had lived in the palace, all his needs were attended to, not that he needed much at all, and according to his banker, the last time he went to speak with him, he was rather well off, not that he had any reason to keep any of it... he did, thinking that if he was allowed to return to Dalmasca, then he'd need money to buy a house... now that the Queen wished for him to return in an official capacity, he wouldn't even need that... but all the money was not with him, and apparently what they used wouldn't work...

Basch sighed a bit when Balthier figured out a short term solution, at least to get them some food, and he knew, just by that pointed glance, that the knight would be paying the pirate back, one way or another... The other male slipped out after giving his order to go sell one of his stones (he was glad that the pirate had thought to keep other monetary forms on him, though he wasn't sure he wanted to know why he did) and the waitress looked to him.

"Ah, turkey on wheat and some water, please..."
Fran had already mentioned the salad, so he looked to Ashe to see if she needed help... she wasn't really accustomed to places like this, and with his terrible breach of conduct with the chair, he wanted to make sure that the Queen would get what she wanted to eat... no doubt it was fare much too below her, but he knew she wouldn't complain... she'd eaten food they'd hunted in the wilds even, so she wasn't overly fussy... but he still wanted to offer her help if she needed it. He caught the bag of money Balthier threw at his head when he returned with barely a glance to the side and he tucked it away without looking at it. It was rude to discuss money at the table.

Claire really did miss the days of just hanging out with her brother. It was a shame they didn't get more of it, although she was sure that they would get sick of each other if they were stuck with just each other for long periods of time. Lots of fighting would ensue. More than like Chris would succeed and win in that regard, but Claire would try to challenge him back rather than back down even if that was the smarter thing. She might get in the occasional win, and that was good enough for her. She just sighed and shook her head, letting the joke of stories and wagering die since it was probably too much for everyone else for these two siblings to continue bantering. It would certainly leave a lot of people out, and she would have found that sad if it were the other way around. Rolling her eyes, she gave Chris a good bump with her shoulder. She was graciously giving him the last word on the matter, but she wasn't going to lie down completely. That wasn't her style.

Her eyes widened a bit with surprise when Jill spoke of something so risque. That was something she also let die. She was the younger sister. Ready. Set. No comment. It was just weird to be discuss sex life in general, worse if it was one related to her or related to him. Despite the fact that they were full adults, she couldn't quell the weirdness of Chris being her older brother. Sexual jokes were hilarious but when they involved one of them, she suddenly felt like the younger sister, defaulting to avoiding the topic as the safest bet. Yes, this did mean that Claire limitations on certain topics. And yes, this did mean that she had a sufficiently adult mind if she came to a less than pure conclusion with regards to Jill's words.

Then she felt her brother's arm around her shoulder. She glanced at him, lightly leaning her face against his when he began to suggest that they should be compared. She began to make gestures with her hand to compare their faces together, commenting lightly, "Is this better?" She drew her lips into a line and frowned, giving a very serious and stern expression that she remembered Chris giving to her quite a lot. Right now, he was smiling and joking of course. She wanted him to be smiling and laughing all the time, but she knew that was far from all that was possible so they should have taken this moment while they had to remember what they were fighting for.

After a separation, she introduced herself to Helena, who seemed humorous and lighthearted herself. Claire was simply teasing Leon about how every girl he ended having a hugely world changing relevant mission with, they started with an A name. Maybe hugely world changing relevant was a very exaggerated way to put it. Leon probably had more than just female partners with A names, but he had to admit... Ada, Ashley, Angela... He had a record. Those were just the ones she was vaguely aware of... Ada and Angela more specifically than Ashley, but who didn't recognize the president's daughter? Even that conversation began to simmer down into an ice box.

Seeing the ice in Leon's eyes, she closed her mouth and knew that she was better off not pushing him. Normally they were pretty cool, Mr. Cucumber as she inwardly dubbed, but there was something distant about them. Ada was apparently more of a sore subject than she remembered it being. She supposed the great and mighty Leon had to be weak to something or rather someone.

Instead she moved quickly into Helena's comment about them becoming good friends. She grinned and retorted genially, "Really? Who? Don't tell me, it's Mr. Muscles back there." She was referring to who she reminded Helena of. It tickled her curiosity, but her words were still very obviously a joke and thus easily passed on if Helena did not want to talk about it. After all, she had left it vague enough that it could have been a trap minefield like Ada was for Leon. It was moments like these that she realized how Umbrella had affected everyone... It was like walking on needles... They were all just trying to find a little bit of happiness, but there was barbed edges on everything.

Then everyone worked out where they were going and what they were doing. There was of course a little power struggle. Her brother and Leon. No surprises well except that Jill didn't seem to join in. From what she could see, as much as Jill balanced and challenged Chris, she also supported him, defaulting to him not unlike Claire herself. When it was just her and Chris, she would question his actions and give suggestions. However, if there were more people, she remained quiet and gave Chris some "dignity" and also did not try to cause more trouble than necessary.

Claire shook her head a bit at the 'cool' comments. She narrowed her gaze, 'Real mature, Chris,' was written all across her features. In her opinion, they were all a little bit strange except Leon. He was the epitome of 'cool', a cool that she would like to see lost once in awhile. Then she smiled and nodded at Jill when she told them to ensure everyone behaved, "No problem. And... thanks, Jill. I can count on you." The words were both an acknowledgment from Claire to Jill as well as a promise from Claire to Jill that Jill should be counted on. Claire was just a little worried after the stunt Jill pulled. She seemed fine now. She also trusted her brother. She was sure between the two of them, everything would work out fine. Still, couldn't a little sister worry just a little?

"Well, we just arrived ourselves, but I'm sure this place can't be too terrible to navigate," Claire assured to Helena as she followed behind Leon, who was already leading. Claire was a last resort leader, normally when she wasn't with particularly special agents, but it seemed like everyone here was. She didn't mind being a follower. Little sister. It was bred in her just like rebellion. Her former and very brief biker-chick days rushed into her thoughts. "Bars are probably best. It's not like none of us don't have a little hardware," she mused, glancing around and noticing that everyone had a firearm of some sort to take care of themselves.

The bar 'Savory Saloon' slowly came into focus as they approached. There was no hesitation in Claire when she followed in after Leon, who was at the front. Once inside, she bypassed Leon to slide right up to the bar. She waved her hand at the bartender, flagging his attention after his present customer. "What can I get for ya?" He asked automatically, eyeing her, Leon, and Helena-strange new customers. That did not pull her down. "So we're new in town. Just blew in. We're looking for work, maybe some quick cash. How about it?"

The barman paused, trying to level with them, "If you're looking to paint picket fences. It ain't going to be here. Only got hunters, miners, and farmers. Unless you're planning on selling something else." There was lewdness in his gaze as he gestured to Claire and Helena. The Redfield disregarded it, digging in metaphorically speaking. She narrowed her gaze and pushed back, "Maybe you're deaf so I'll repeat myself again. We're looking for real work. If you look anywhere except my eyes, you'll blind and deaf." Her words and gaze were icy. In order to be taken seriously, one had to act seriously, give them something to think about.

Before the bartender could answer, another man that had been eavesdropping spoke up, "You got a lot of guts, girlie. I'll give you that. I got ya a fine proposition then... if you're for up. " Claire met his gaze and then glanced back to the others, "Go on." He just smiled a bit, voice softening, "They call themselves the Bullet Brigadiers. The local law enforcement can't touch 'em because they ain't got proof, but we all know they've been kidnapping children to slaves on the black market. They gotta hideout on the edge of town. If you can go in, get proof, and come back out, you'll be paid handsomely. But they've got all sorts of guards."

The hair on the back of Claire's neck stood to attention. Without even consulting Leon or Helena, she immediately answered, "I'll do it." Fortunately she didn't include Leon or Helena in this. It was their choice, but regardless she was going to go to see if there was truth in what this person said. Even if there was no money involved, something like that was totally unlawful. She drew her gaze to the other two that she had come with, "Maybe there's something else, but I need to see if there's any truth to what he says."

Alice did not have any solid expectations of Yuri's answer when she had queried into his fusion abilities. They seemed about as much of a mystery to him as they were to her. From time to time, he would appear in his new's fusion incarnation, usually more powerful than the ones before. If anything, she expected Yuri to answer that his powers were growing, and if these were his more powerful fusions now, she wouldn't be surprise if Yuri said that he wanted to show them off to Travis. They were both seemingly bred of a similar sort, flaring with colorful personalities and fierce determination as well as a certain pride that was easily seen. Travis had shown quite a bit of his skill and ability with what seemed to be a glowing colored lightning blade that cut through solids of all sorts so easily.

Yuri seemed thoughtful over the answer, trying to give her something specific. That was another sign of something strange. He was a little hesitant in his answer. She was used to his harmonixer abilities so she wondered why he was acting a bit nervous. She just thought he was going to give her the usual when he got a new fusion, defeated and claimed it for himself. Instead, it seemed like all his fusions had been replaced... Replaced was different than added to the bunch. That was certainly new to her. She wondered what exactly could have triggered a completely new set of fusions necessary that the others that she had seen before when he fought.

After a few moments of thoughtful pause, she said, "I see. I suppose that no one has a power quite like yours... We do not know the reasons for the changes if there are any..." It would have been nice to find someone with a similar ability, perhaps with more experience. Yuri had to face all these unknown changes by himself. She would of course stay at his side regardless, but she could no better provide answers than he himself. But then again she supposed that it was just the same with her ability to see and hear the dead... It was a rare gift, not one that could even be passed down through bloodline. They were two peas in a pod in some ways, each others' gift inevitably bringing trouble in different forms. More than likely the reason they were brought together to begin with.

When the moment of lighthearted humor passed, Yuri took a turn for the vague, which usually meant lewd. She recognized that smirk in his features that suggested that he was showing his perverse colors at the moment. His words and his expressions automatically caused her lips to draw into a thin line as she sighed and shook her head a bit. She didn't quite understand his words even though she was sure it was sexual in some way. It took her a few moments of pondering and consideration with regards to his words for her to understand completely that Yuri meant that Travis could spend his time and efforts that he spent toward his cat for gaining the company of a woman for sexual relations.

Her cheeks fluttered a light pink at the belated realization. She huffed a bit, trying to defend Travis, "His devotion to his cat shows his possible devotion to someone he cares about. It's an endearing trait that shows great loyalty and is not one that is wasteful." So she was slightly digging herself a hole, implying that Travis's acts of doting on his cat could have helped him gain sexual relations with a woman. After all, women sought loyalty and affection not unlike that of animals and companionship. If any girl was shown such care like she had seen Travis show for his cat, she was sure that he would have broken quite a few hearts. However, men were sometimes too clouded by the impulsiveness of youth to realize that until later in their life.

Her "attempts" to defend Travis may have fallen on deaf ears. He was completely devoted to his cat, and he may have been out of earshot with how softly her words were when she tried to speak them without tripping over them. She clamped her mouth shut, hearing Travis and Shinobu declare that they wished to leave. Alice was a bit confused by this. Where were they going? Should she and Yuri go with them just in case? Perhaps something had happened? Yuri certainly seemed to think so judging from his words. Just as Yuri headed towards them, he seemed to be pained. As she followed suit, a similar zing clouded her judgment. She drew pause, thinking that she should let them go if they needed to go. They didn't ask for her and Yuri to follow, and they weren't waiting up so... she supposed it was all right.

Alice softly rationalized aloud, "I think that it's fine. Travis and Shinobu can take care of themselves. They must have something to take care of on their own." She didn't feel strange or out place to allow them to go. It was "fine." They hadn't known them for long so this was fine.

The female exorcist remained completely oblivious to the look on Yuri's face that suggested something more. "Maybe we should check to see if the owners of the hotel and everyone inside is all right?" That seemed most like a short term goal, and even just from where she stood inside, she could see the owners and their son standing and healthy. Everyone else seemed to have returned to their normal business. After which, she suggested, "Perhaps we can see if we can get to London or Zurich from here?" They had yet to try to find their way home or discover whether or not that was even possible from where they were.

Admittedly, throwing a knife in the dagger of those that one was not sure was an enemy or friend was not the wisest thing to do. However, Sheik weighed the balance of staying in silence and possibly being found out and then be accused of being the cause of he infestation or appear out of nowhere, surprising them and possibly becoming a target. Of course, those were both worst case scenarios. Other scenarios included staying quiet and accidentally being shot by that strange weapon the blond woman was holding. Sheik could hardly see the what sort of ammunition the weapon used, but she could see the end result of being hit by whatever came out of the long nose of the item. It was dangerous, and she was not sure that even with her speed that she would be able to avoid it completely.

Therefore, she had weighed out a careful appearance to allow them to know that she was there. The question was how could she tell them that she was there subtly without surprising them. Regardless, there would be an amount of surprise. The only thing she could hope to count on was that the person she was saw was indeed Link of whom she was fairly sure and that he might recognize her enough to stop anyone else traversing on the transport from targeting her. Then came her best opportunity when a bug that had been too small to see got passed through the group and was coming up behind.

Weighing her choices then swiftly, she thought perhaps by helping them, they would understand if she truly wished to kill them, she would have done so already rather than apparently missing only to save them. Of course if Link was traveling with the woman, Zelda would have no intention of harming her unless she proved to betray Link in some way. That usually meant she was working with Ganondorf in some way. She still believed that he was somehow the cause of this entire mess.

She waited for them to acknowledge her. She could see them immediately look to the dead carcass of the insect and seeing her knife. If Link inspected it carefully, he might recognize it as a knife belonging to that of a Sheikah and hopefully a friend. The blond woman seemed to be calling out something or other, but it was a bit hard for Sheik to make out at this distance until the transport got closer. She could see the tracks were headed her way. Eventually the transport would be just under her but not for a few moments. Until then, she used the sharp edge of one of her daggers to keep the bugs from getting to close to her while they cast a verdict on her.

To her great surprise, it was the woman that had called her over or so she believed. She assumed that a so called 'ninja dude' referred to her, although she had never heard of such a term. It was confirmed when she was looked right in the eye, and the woman told her to get in. Sheik was the only person not in the transport. And then she mentioned Link, sending Sheik a warning about him and thus confirming the identity of the blond male hylian in the cart. They would never know much of a relief it was to see Link, although how he arrived there was a great mystery to her. It was a greater mystery that she was there with him... Could Ganon have done this on purpose? Put them together? A great and arrogant mistake that would be.

Sheik waited until the cart was just below them, staying still so that she did not get in the way of Link or the young woman's aim. She understood how detrimental that could be. When they came around, she loosened her body from the ridges. For a moment, she alerted the bugs to her position when she moved. She held a bar briefly, swinging her legs around to knock the bugs away. The move was better done on the ground than in the air. When the small place was clear, she released the bar and fell comfortably into the transport, crouching to cushion her weight of her fall before standing up.

She had a good look at the woman now. She was a lean woman with sharp angled features. The weapon in her hands was even more foreign to her now than ever before. She looked to Link, seeing that not much had changed. It was she that had more changes, although her masculine body should not have been strange to his eyes. Meet his blue gaze with her own crimson ones, she nodded in acknowledgement to him. She knelt over, taking back her thrown knife and kicking the exoskeleton of the insect off the transport before pocketing her weapon back after of course sliding off the guts on the blade.

"I understand this is Link. Who may I ask is this woman and man?" A deeper, androgynously deep for a woman but a bit higher for a man slipped from her lips. She looked to the man dressed in coveralls that was not doing any fighting whatsoever and the woman that held the foreign weapon and had called her a 'ninja dude' when trying to get her onto the transport.

In this form, Sheik was better off with short to mid range capabilities at best. However, she did not want to revert back to her normal form unless completely necessary. To use her bow now would immediately allow others to know of her status in the Hylian royal family. Thus she was at an impasse with regards to aiding the two in destroying the bugs, although they were doing a sufficiently good job without needing her help anyways. "And if I may ask, what brings you all here?" Perhaps by hearing their answers, she might better understand her own mysterious appearance there.

Hope had clearly known Lightning for quite a lot longer than he had known her. He wasn't as in tune to the woman's moods or expressions. He might never have noticed that Lightning was anything but completely normal except that she had acted a bit more reckless than expected. But still, he might not have thought of that as anything but ordinary since he had known her but a full day. Hope had seen her for much longer, and he was the one that had asked him to talk to her. Even if he did not completely understand Lightning like Hope had due to their familiarity with each other, he did understand that sometimes it was easier to talk to someone far removed from the situation than someone that was involved. After all, he thought it was easier to talk to Lightning about his past than to talk to Cecil or Rosa himself... even Edge and Rydia... They were still far too close.

Kain could never truly understand what Lightning was going through. He was an only child, and those he considered siblings, Rosa and Cecil... He would be devastated to learn if either only had such a time to live. The first woman he had ever loved and his best friend that was like a brother to him... Still, they were not siblings, and they could not replace a feeling of rivalry that he had felt for both of them that he might not have occurred with a little brother or sister. But perhaps it was similar in that they both gave up so much for the ones they loved. Lightning, who had given up so much for her sister, and he would stopped pursuing Rosa because he loved both Cecil and Rosa so much that he wished only for their unique happiness.

However, the way Lightning was acting, sad as it was, was completely irrational. He understood that irrationality to some degree, and he felt partially his duty to ground her present irrationality as he might have wished someone to have done to him. "You say only a couple years to live, but what if that is two more years than she might have received otherwise? We cannot see the choices that we make, and for all it is known, perhaps what happens in the future is what gives your sister the ability to live and experience all that she is able." He would have been angry if anyone told this to him. He prepared for her to be angry with him for seeming so cold.

He knew it was cold, but at the same time, he was also trying to be reassuring. They both would never know how to manipulate time or fate, and there was no telling how other actions might change or not have changed anything at all. They just had to live each day, thinking it might be their last. "You cannot see if she might have died tomorrow, but you know that she has some time, a guaranteed time to live... No one can see when they will pass on... There is no telling what is fated for us or even if there is fate... It is easier to believe that there is none for should fate exist, it is both cruel and unchanging. To believe there is none and all done by own will, there may be a way to alter the course of the future."

He was of course a hypocrite as he lived for tomorrow rather than today, thinking and believing he had a future even though he always considered that he might not receive a tomorrow. Then he thought that he did not likely deserve a tomorrow. He believed his entire life would come full circle, not as a product of fate but simply karmic retribution for the choices both good and bad that he had made.

He glanced up, seeing that Hope had stopped. Just as he moved to catch up, Lightning stopped him. Kain paused and turned to her. She knew about Hope asking her to help? Either of them or both of them were apparently transparent to the pink haired warrior. Guilt laced his gaze briefly. He moved to place his hand over hers briefly and stated firmly, "I may not know you as well as Hope, but I do recognize that we have the same warrior spirit. Do not give up. It is the place of neither of us to yield if we do not wish it. I have seen impossible things occur by those that continue to fight regardless of how hopeless it seems... It is merely a guise for an opportunity to succeed where others have yet to do so. Thus be the first."

The dragoon gave her a small smile that lit up to the blue of his hues. He could not help but feel as if he were talking to a kindred spirit, speaking to her as if he wished for someone to say to him. It was enough that she was there, allowing him to see himself as others might have seen him and understand perhaps how his friends were trying to encourage him when he would turn them away. Again, they were too close, but Lightning was completely remote and thus allowed him to see what he refused to see before. "Come. If we stay behind too long, Hope will surely worry more. That, I am sure you do not wish for." He said, releasing her hand and lightly challenging her to catch up to their academic companion.
