The small rural town of Inaba is rocked by violent murders, murders whose victims are whisked away in the dead of night only to reappear as lifeless corpses in the wake of a mysterious fog.

Unbeknownst to the police force, a small group of teenagers has discovered the true cause...

There exists an otherworldly realm inside the television filled with creatures called Shadows, dark reflections of human hearts. These mysterious creatures attack any humans who have crossed into their world. To make matters worse, Someone's been purposely throwing people inside the TV world, leaving them to be devoured by these shadows and to have their lifeless bodies appear back in the real world.

Driven to discover the truth and the true culprit behind these murders, the investigation team secretly sets itself to rescuing unfortunates thrown into the mysterious realm. With powerful avatars of mythological might called Personas at their beck and call, they endure a long journey filled with peril, self-discovery and the pursuit of truth.



Only to disappear without a trace.


Now, almost two years after the incident, the last remaining member of the team has returned to Inaba to finish what his missing comrades have started.

Only this time, he won't be alone. Not anymore.

MAIN RPG SUMMARY:
NOTE- SPOILERS AHEAD: The events of Persona 4 followed an otherwise normal group of 7 students (and a bear), as they tried to solve the murders and apprehend the true culprits. But sometime in mid-battle against Ameno-Sagiri and a shadow-infused Adachi Tohru, they disappeared without a trace. One and a half years later, only one survivor of the missing returns sans memory of the incident: Yosuke Hanamura, who's driven by loyalty to missing friends to embark on a journey for truth. With the TV realm in chaos once more and a new string of incidents dragging unwitting students into the chaos, Yosuke ends up gathering a team of teenagers haunted by their own doubts and pasts to prevent the upheaval of both the TV and the real world.

Unfortunately, none of them foresee the scope of the task, as an ancient war that has been brewing long before they were even born looms over the horizon.

What has started as a desperate search for missing loved ones may in fact turn into a last stand for humanity.



Current Events:
Different people cross paths as an accident caused by Kaito in Junes draws together a motley group of students and employees. Luckily, Hisako Inoue's intervention turns what could have been a violent altercation into an adoption into the 'unofficial family' of Yankii Masane Hiwada!

With new bonds being formed, new players on the field, and new rules being put into play, it's anyone's guess how the game will turn out. Especially when their lives are about to be changed by a single school trip to Sumaru city, a place where rumors spread far and wide enough are said to come true...

[RULES]

.1. No God-moding.

.2. Role play level = literate. No one-liners. No *walked over there* or *sat down.* We want description, plot and effort. 3 paragraphs is typical. THIS page shows a good range on what we're looking for. Don't worry about prettying up your posts. You can do that, it's easier on the eyes, but we want quality over quantity. Content vs what's pretty.

.3. Characters from any fandom are allowed. Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Persona, etc. But they MUST fit into the Persona 4 universe. Meaning Cloud won't have his giant bustersword, Ichigo won't be fighting hollows and Harry Potter isn't a wizard. They'll be functioning as real world people with jobs, work and school. Note: Students will get the most action in this RP. Remember, the mods LOVE minor characters and creative profiles.

.4. No drama please. It ain't personal. Get mad? Get over it.If things get bad, take it off the thread. If you have a bone to pick with someone, do it outside of this thread. Be civil. Just an RP. Don't take things too personal.

.8. No Investigation Team (in the beginning) . This RP will be started using made-up characters or minor characters from P4 or characters from any fandom. No choosing the main characters of Persona 4 like Yukiko, Chie, Kanji, etc. because they're due to enter the storyline later in the RP. The twist is to bring created, minor characters and other fandom characters into the mix and bring life into them.

.9. Don't mess with the mods. Don't be rude. Listen to what they say. Don't be a #%@%#. They're trying to make it fun for you anyway.

10. 2 characters MAX: If you can handle them well, then later, the mods will give the option for you to pick up a third. Do REALLY well, and you'll likely end up handling one of the returning Investigation team members (i.e. Rise, Teddie) later on when they finally come in.

10. Stay active: Stay attentive to the RP and whether or not it NEEDS you to progress, i.e. if multiple people are waiting on you to post. You don't need to post every second of the day, but try to post at least once a day. You can take time off, so long as you let us know whats going on.

And there's NOTHING WRONG WITH WRITER'S BLOCK. Happens to everyone, sometimes you just dont know what to post. That's what the OOC thread is for. Don't be ashamed. Ask for help brainstorming. That's what it's for.

11. All plot lines/ plot twists must run through mods: mods run the RP, including the direction of the story. That means we keep track of everything, including everyone's secret plot twists, so they don't collide. We'll keep them secret if you wish, but if you have intention of carrying something out, just PM the mods and they'll even try to help make it happen.

[GAME MECHANICS / WORLD INFO]

Urban Fantasy RPG: School setting + Supernatural setting. Takes place 2 years after the game. Characters of the RP are normal humans/students/adults who discover a world inside the TV. Characters can only use their powers (Personas) in the TV WORLD.

The Investigation team (main characters of Persona 4) tried to solve the two murders but went missing (immediately after the defeat of Ameno-sagiri and [spoilers] Crazy!Adachi [/spoilers] ). Two years later, the sole survivor returns to Inaba to finish the job, only to have others join the fight, search for the missing ones and search for the truth behind the murders and continuing kidnappings.

Minor P4 characters, other fandom characters, and made-up characters will begin the RP. Investigation team (Chie, Yukiko, Souji, Kanji, Rise, Teddie, Naoto) will return in the future in accordance to RP plot.

EACH PLAYER ...

• Doesn't have a Persona until they enter the TV world.
• will get to have their own Dungeon
• will get to face their shadow
• can play 2 characters (at first)
• cannot INITIALLY choose Investigation Team Members: Souji, Yukiko, Chie, Kanji, Teddie, Rise, Naoto (these roles will be given sparingly, later on, and in accordance to the plot)
  
• Must choose minor characters (Daisuke, Kou, etc), characters from another fandom, or make up their own
• May engage in social link events apart from the main storyline and develop relationships (of course)

A lot of this will be rehash for you. If you've played the game, good! You can skim through everything quickly. If you haven't ... well... you better be ready for potential spoilers. Or... you know. You can always just watch a playthrough.


[ REAL WORLD KEY POINTS: ]

You can go to school, have a job, hang out with friends, wreak havoc in the streets. You're just your normal self. Students, Lawyers, Detectives, Police, Shop owners, employees- you can be anything! Your powers don't work in the REAL WORLD... at least for now, they don't.


• The Midnight Channel: There's this rumor going around.... They say if you look into a turned off TV at midnight when it's raining, you see your soul mate...

[ TV WORLD KEY POINTS: ]

The world inside the TV. It's filled with a thick fog- you can't see unless you have special 'glasses'. The TV world can be entered only by those with the power of Personas. Each TV in the REAL WORLD world leads to a different part of the TV WORLD. People with Personas in this world frequently are attacked by shadows. When the fog lifts from this world, the REAL WORLD gets foggy. When the fog lifts here, the shadows get VERY violent.


• [PERSONA:] Avatars of power that you can call on to fight for you in the TV WORLD. To call them forward, you must have an Arcana and a tarot card from which to summon them. The ability to call them forward comes after you confront your own SHADOW accept your 'true self.'
  
• [SHADOWS:] Shadows are different reflections of the humans in the real world. They take monster-like forms and attack those who cross over. They can't cross over into the real world. So far.
  
• [SHADOWS - THE TRUE SELF:] Much like the regular shadows, this one is violent as well. It's different in that it takes on its owner's appearance, and taunts it with the owner's inner fears and suppressed thoughts. If the owner denies them ("You're not me!" wink then the shadow gets very angry and the result is a boss fight. Once the owner accepts their doubts/shadow, it becomes their Persona, and it helps protect them in the TV WORLD.
  
• DUNGEONS: When a person without a Persona, a civilian, enters the TV WORLD, oftentimes, a giant dungeon will be formed using their doubts, fears and suppressed thoughts as a basis.
