" I've only been here a couple hours and I'm already freaking out over what I'm going to do now that I'm done unpacking and other things...Perfect..." A sweet melodic voice could be heard coming from the newest occupied room inside of the Sohma estate to anyone passing by. The source? Sixteen year old Kurayami Sohma, the newest edition to the Shoma household, and not by choice. Well it was by choice, just not by her choice. If it was up to her she would have been at home with her mother, remaking the chocolate chip pancakes her mother found some new way to ruin every Saturday and preparing freshly squeezed lemonade or orange juice. Or something with strawberries. Why strawberries? Because they made everything better! Why else? And after brunch (( never breakfast because she normally spent her mornings cleaning )) was prepared she would get ready for her next assignment, if she had one, and be on her way to work. But it wasn't her choice and because of that she wasn't at home with her mother, doing the same thing she had been doing since she was little and it was tearing her up inside. And all of this because of some dumb request from her fathers family head.
For two years the head of the Sohma family, her fathers family, had been sending letters to her house, or well her mothers house now, asking for her to come and stay with them. Why? She had no earthly clue. Not only that but she didn't care. As far as she knew he didn't take interest in her until her father died, until he first saw her. Even so, a few days ago her mother had some how convinced her to go and say with them until they end of her third year in high school and see how she liked it. Even though she wanted to say no she couldn't deny her mothers wishes so decided to go anyway. So within a few days time she had gotten her things packed and early this morning she had arrived. She hadn't met with anyone though. Instead she had gone straight to her room and began unpacking getting her room in order. Well no...order wasn't the right word, more like even. Yeah, that was the perfect word. Mainly because the girls room was symmetrical down to the last centimeter, the main reason she had spent so long unpacking. But her OCD was to blame for that more then anything else, and maybe a little bit of procrastination.
" Well...I can't stay in here forever, that would be more then a little unhealthy. I think I'll make something to eat and go out for a bit." With that being said Kurayami stood up from her spot on her bed, slipping off the white silk night gown she wore and headed over to her closet. Removing her hair from its pigtails she let it fall loose around her back and shoulders. Just what was she going to wear today anyway? She was feeling...sun set orange and white today. How do you feel colors? No idea but Kurayami did and she went with it when ever she got dressed, like now for example.
Now for a person that had never looked through Kurayami's closet before there were a few things that should be known. The first thing was that it was never to be touched without permission, that was one of her big no nos. The second thing was that if you did touch when you weren't suppose to but what ever you got back from where you got it exactly or she'd find out. Sounds easy right? Wrong. The girls closet was arranged by color, fabric, sleeve length, leg length, skirts, and so much more. It was just about impossible for a normal person to place anything back into the right place without confusion. But that was also a part of her OCD and she couldn't help it.
Reaching inside the girl pulled out an orange knight tube top and a pair of white capris with a leatherette orange belt. Slipping the her pants and the shirt on first she slipped the belt on. Checking her mirror she nodded to herself before removing a pair of orange canvas wedged heels and her orange iPod nano case from her closet along with her umbrella. Yes she had an orange iPod case, she had one of every color and then some so she could match when she put it on. Was this a problem? Maybe. Well no, it was a problem and she was big enough to admit it but do absolutely nothing about it. Grabbing a white clutch bag, another thing she had multiple colors of, she shoved both her iPod, the umbrella, and the orange case inside, tying her heels together and slinging them over her shoulder right before grabbing her camera and putting it around her neck and heading out of her room, looking left and right...Great...which way was the way out again? She couldn't exactly remember.
" Man do I feel stupid...." she murmured in response to her own stupidity. Letting out a sigh she began to make her way down the hall, she wasn't really sure where she was going but any place was better then standing around in a random spot out in front of her room. " Exactly where am I going to go anyway....." The thing that she hated most about moving to a new place, aside from introducing herself to new people, was learning the area and her new house. People were simple. A name, an age, a phone number, and possibly an address was all you really had to remember on a first impression, that and a few of the things you talked about. Simple and easy. As for remembering places...that could be a little more difficult, or at least it would be for her seeing how she was directionally challenged.
When it came to houses if it was a big enough place she could get easily lost. Her first or second time around a new place by herself often resulted in her mother coming to look for her. The only problem this time would be the fact that her mother wasn't here for her, and not only that but she didn't know anyone that could actually help her. Even though she had twelve other cousins she knew none of them really well since she hadn't seen them in a couple of years and only one week before that, and then there was the god, another person she wasn't familiar with. In other words at the moment she had no one she could rely on if she got into trouble. It was a scary thought.
Turning a corner she noticed a door that lead outside, one of the pathways. It wasn't the front door but it would at least get her there...Heading out she looked around, the cool air rushing past her cheeks as she opened the door, the sound of voices accompanying it. She couldn't see anyone just yet but at least she knew she was close to some kind of life.
