Uulyn Tiramai
Squad One -- Fourth Seat
Uulyn unsheathed his blade as Mitsuko did hers, feeling another breeze go by as he did so. He analyzed her movements in the first attack. The blade came around to him horizontally, from the right. He took a calculated step towards her, closing the distance she would need for her hidden kick and simultaneously blocking her slash. His blade, held in an upside-down way as to be able to continue with an attack of his own, held firmly against hers. The only reason he had known of her attack was the simplicity of her slash, she made it just a bit too obvious where she was attacking from. If she hadn't intended on a kick anyway, Uulyn was never one to take chances. Stepping back would have allowed her more distance to prepare an attack. Jumping over seemed like a good idea, but it left him open while in the air and recovering from the landing.
He gave a strong push with his blade in something of an upward slash, disconnecting the swords. As she was recovering from the deflection, he twirled to her side with the blade going for the back of her waist. Uulyn felt as swift and light as the wind around him, and his movements showed his feelings. They were calculated and graceful, flowing smoothly together. If Mitsuko didn't react to the slash, he'd simply stop a moment before the blade would make contact, just as a spar was to happen.
