Her Gigai

She was resting her head on the table as Mikomi was twirling her phone on it.She was just waiting for the alert for a message from the one of the few people in her contacts list. Then her ringtone went off. She got this one from her aunt to tease her uncle,Mikomi liked how it sounded. She smiled at the message as she walked up to the counter and ordered the two things that they liked and told them to wait to give them when her friends arrived. Some would say she is trying to hard with these friends but the first people to accept her,it was too much to give up.

She looked around and continued to read in her book as she was getting to a good part. Then a man walked up,"Hey there..what'cha reading..."He bent down and smirked ,seeing Mikomi's face and then the book title."Oh I love that book...if you wish I got a few in my car if you want to see them" Mikomi gave the man a blank stare trying to figure out what he was saying. Then her father, listed off all the types of people to avoid as she shuffled threw her purse."My father told me if you or someone like you continued this I should use this..."She set down the pepper spray,"And if you resist I call my father or mother and then all shall be resolved.."She could have killed him too but she wold follow her parent's words. The man then shook his head declining any offer that he was giving only to run out the door. Mikomi just went back to her book,"I lost my place...."She muttered as she shirted the items back into her purse and waited for her friends.

As his wife lead him into the living room, Ichigo’s thoughts never strayed far from the mounting list of work he had left to do. He had never considered himself a work-a-holic but when things like this happened he found it hard to enjoy himself if he knew others were depending on him. This was the first time since he took over the squad that he had such a mounting list of things happening across the world and to such a sever degree. More than one night this week he had slept at his desk after passing out from sheer exhaustion after being on the phone and reading over various reports from his people stationed worldwide.

At least Rukia had agreed with him about calling a global meeting of all his major officers. His squad was divided into 8 major groups with small branch leading off from the 8. Each 8 had a section of the globe they were in charge of, with Karakura town being the headquarters for everyone and home of one of the branches. Any Shinigami in the living world had to pass through Karakura town as per rule establish after the creation of his squad. The 8 branches were North America stationed in New York, United State; South America station in Brasília; Brazil; Europe stationed in London, England; Far East station in Hong Kong, China; Middle East stationed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Africa stationed in Nairobi, Kenya; Oceania stationed in Sydney, Australia; and last but not least there was Japan branch. Well Japan remained to be seen as part of the Far East the fact Karakura town still had the most hollow attacks per any other region qualified it to be its own separate branch. Also the fact the Squad was stationed there made it important. Getting everyone together was a delicate balance considering how many different time zones there was but he work on setting things up later.

As soon as Rukia touched his shoulders, the tension there was clear. Ichigo had been working himself like a dog trying to figure out what he was going to do but under his wife’s touch he let some of that overwhelming tension leave his body. He had to remember he was still just one man and even if he had defeated Aizen, there was still only so much he could do. He’d set the meeting for tomorrow well the kids were at school he quickly schemed, he didn’t want them worrying but then again he didn’t want them to think everything was fine either.

I’ll be better once this all blows over” Ichigo said his tone making it clear how much he wished things would just be over with. “I’ll set up the meeting tonight, after dinner I’ll have plenty of time, I’ll call our friends too, and work out what our next step should be. If I have Uryu’s help things will run more smoothly I think, he can help you and me figure out how we should tighten our defenses against this threat.”

Ichigo reached up placing his hands over Rukia’s tightening his grip slightly over them as he leaned back and looked up at her. He was so thankful he had her, she really was the perfect woman for him and she could read him better then even he could read himself to the point she always seemed to know what to do. He didn’t know what he would of done if she hadn’t been in his life and it was just something he refused to think about.

Also I think we need to tell the kids about what is going on.” He started slowly knowing full well he was going to have to back up this statement. “I don’t want them to think everything is just fine Rukia because we both know it’s not. If that Espada yesterday had appeared before Hisana and Daisuke I fear what could have happened. I think if we at least tell them that something serious is happening maybe they’ll take a bit more caution with things. We got some strong kids but I don’t want to force them into any position me and my friends had to go through when we were kids

Hisana smiled brightly as her brother agreed to accompany her; she didn't like to not be around him when she could, as they were just like two sides of a coin. She also figured that it would be good for Mikomi and her brother to get to know each other better, for neither were really very social, and Hisana felt that they had the potential to be good friends.

"Great..meet me downstairs, ok? I'm going to go change out of my school things." Hisana lept up after downing her hot chocolate, and then darted out of her brothers room and into hers to change out of her uniform. The Karakura High uniform was so bland, it didn't suit her at all. At first, she tried to brighten it up with striped socks and other bright things, but those 'went against the dress code' so she was unable to personalize her outfit.

After digging through her closet, Hisana settled on an outfit. She pulled on a shirt, jeans, a hoodie, and then her favorite pair of high top sneakers. The teenager stood back to admire herself in the mirror, before zipping up her hoodie and going downstairs to meet up with her brother. She popped her head in the living room and smiled at her parents.

"Daisuke and I are going down the street to meet up with Mikomi. We'll be back in time for dinner."

Without waiting for a reply, Hisana ran back to her brother side, smiling and tucking her cellphone away in her pocket after sending a text to Komi that they were on their way.
"Lets go." After ensuring her brother was behind her, Hisana exited the house and began to walk down the street, not feeling the winter chill in the least. She waited for Daisuke to come level with her, and then started walking again.

"I dunno if I wanna try out for the lead this year. I want the part but...Things seem to be changing around here." She thought back to the prescence she had felt while at school the other day, heavy and rank with evil that could only be an Espada. Mikomis fathers Spiritual Pressure was much the same, but didn't feel evil to her at all. They seemed merely on the same power level. It had worried her deeply, but it disappeared soon enough, before anyone could act. Her father also seemed to be working much later as well, sometimes when she would come down for a drink in the middle of the night, she would poke her head in his study and find him sleeping at his desk, papers strew about. Her curiosity had reared its head, and she snuck a look at a few of them. She didn't understand all the information, but what she did didn't bode well for anyone. She'd told Daisuke about this, and both the twins would often find themselves contemplating the events happening recently.

Daisuke glanced around his room as his sister made a quick exit, reaching over and downing his hot chocolate before picking up both mugs. Reaching across his desk, he grabbed his PSP shoving it quickly into the large pocket of his cargo pants as he left his room. Hanging out with his sister was always fun, but sometimes it could get boring when his sister and her friends talked about girl stuff. So he brought his PSP just in case, also he had a few more things left to do on Crisis Core so he’d be quite entertained if he was going to play.

Heading downstairs, he placed both mugs into the dishwasher before standing in entry way to wait for his sister. She appeared a moment after tell their parents were they were headed before both sibling stepped outside, Daisuke following a half step behind his sister as they came outside. Quickly the older brother slid his hands into this pocket to keep the chill from biting at his finger tips. He was use to cold seeing as how his mother’s raietsu was aligned that way and when ever she’d get mad the temperature would drop, but he still didn’t seem to have his sister and mother’s almost immunity to cold.

Taking a few quick steps to catch up to his sister’s side, he his eyes become serious as she spoke off the strange things that had been happening. Subconsciously his fist clenched in the pockets of his coat as he thought about the danger that seemed to be looming in the air. He wouldn’t let anything happen to anyone he cared about, no matter what he had to do to keep them safe. He knew that there was going to be a battle; his dad wouldn’t be spending so many nights asleep at his desk if he wasn’t worried about something and anything his dad worried about involved something he had to fight against.

“Ummm… Maybe I shouldn’t head to that martial arts tournament next month, if something is going on and I don’t want to be out of town if something happens. I’m sure Tatsuki-sensei would understand after all she is part of Dad’s squad.” Daisuke shrugged as he kept his gaze squarely in front of him.

His martial arts tournaments were important to him but not so much that he risk being away from his friends during this time. Also normally his sister couldn’t come with him to the tournaments and he always desperately missed her during the times he was away. Also the tournaments now day weren’t much of a challenge as his room was filled 1st place trophies.

As they stepped up the doors of the cafe, Daisuke pulled his hand from his pocket and opened the door for his sister before stepping in just behind her. He hung back again a half a step behind his sister to let his twin greet her friend. He considered Mikomi among his circle of friends but had always considered her more of Hisana’s friend then his. It was just the way things played out Hisana was the leader and knew everyone; he was his sister’s constant shadows. Giving Mikomi a small wave, he shadows behind his sister quietly.

Her Gigai

She was sitting there reading her book and nearly at the end as she suddenly felt a reitsu of that could have been a espada near by. She looked up and around to make sure they were not coming for her. Considering she was a arrancar she was worried. She then noticed a text on her phone as she saw it was from her mother asking if she was okay and she just smiled and replied that she was. Her mother was as protective as her father,it was nice to have protective parents. Her eyes soon went to the door as she saw Hisana and then Daisuke as she waved back at the orange haired boy. She was glad he came for she did not want to leave anyone out. Mikomi stood up as she walked over to the two ,with the drinks she ordered and cakes to match,"Here..please enjoy..."She said with a soft smile as she lead them back to the table,"Umm how is school....and your family...?"She was trying to come up with small talk but over all failing. She then remembered that feeling she got earlier as she looked to them,"Did you two feel something out of the ordinary..."She asked only to twirl her tea in her hand. She loved these two as friends but it was still hard for her to strike a conversation.

Hisana beamed brightly at her friend and as they walked back to table, she wrapped her arms around Mikomi in a hug. The arrancar girl could get a bit jumpy when anyone else hugged her, but with Hisana, it always seemed normal. It was a bit suprising to others that a Shinigami and Arrancar could be best friends, but Hisana and Mikomi seemed to pull it off well.

"It's great to see you, Mikomi-san." She sat across from her friend in the booth, sliding over to Daisuke could seat himself too. She took a long sip of her tea, a smile still pulling at her mouth. She was delighted to see her friend, even though she'd seen her earlier at school. They didn't get to talk much during school except during lunch time, which wasn't nearly long enough for the lengthy conversations they had.

"Schools been just fine, easy as usual. How've you been, Komi?" She asked, beaming and thinking that she'd save the topic of their parents for later when the mood took a turn towards seriousness. Whenever they hung out together, the conversations were usually light-hearted, with a lot of laughter and jokes thrown in, but at Mikomis next question, the smile dropped from Hisanas face and was replaced by a speculative look. She'd felt it, and no doubt Daisuke had too. It was gone now, but when it was here, it didn't feel like a particularly strong prescence, so Hisana hadn't been worried about it.

The Shinigami took another sip of her tea, nearly draining the cup.

"So, Mikomi, are you doing any extra-curricular classes after Christmas?" she asked, smiling. They had taken a cooking class together at school, and that had been buckets of fun, despite that one incident where they both some how got covered in flour and it had taken forever to get off.

Mikomi smiled softly at Hisana and then was soon hugged, still not used to it so it took a few seconds for her to return it. This was almost a taboo friendship but honestly Mikomi would fight to keep her friend Hisana and Daisuke, even though he doesn't talk too much.

"Wonderful to see you as well Hisana-san..." She said as she took a sip of her tea looking at the two, each one looked like one of their parents somehow. She wanted to see these two constantly just because a hollow doesn't befriend many and her parents are not much into going out of the house and having fun. Those two just preferred listening to classical music and talk about things that confused Mikomi.

"Thats good....me hmm...."She tapped her lip and fixed her not need glasses. "Well I am well,I am good..I almost got abducted before you got hear but the paper spray dissuaded the man."She said with a smile like it was nothing at all.Mainly because she could have easily beat the man senseless.... because her parents had their own little training dojo that they trained her in a lot...but the way the dojo looked compared to the rest of the neighborhood it did not fit in at all.

Mikomi saw Hisana's questioning look about the sense of something that everyone seemed to have. Though it left it still worried Mikomi,it was a hollow that was for sure and perhaps even a Espada. Though she would just shrug it off and talk to her friends, this was her happy fun time after all.

The young arrancar tilted her head seeing Hisana nearly empty her cup only to look at her nearly full cup, parents told her a sip will do so it took way to long for her to finish even a tall cup.

She remembered a time when they each took another class over the break and caused her to laugh lightly. "Um....well I was thinking music, dance or perhaps a art...I just need the ...umm courage..."She sunk down in her sit some as it squeaked down to the air being let out causing the blond to jump lightly."Just please no home economic class...between the incident pure white with the flour and my dad eating my egg baby thing...I cannot imagine what would happen next..." She remember her father apologizing which included a lot of stuff being bought...and fun fun adventures

Mikomi flipped out her phone as she got a text from her mom asking if she was okay only to sigh and send back -Yes mom I said so about ten minutes ago...you are so clingy...- then she got one back ~ Yes....Yes I am...~ Mikomi just laughed lightly again as her mother was very protective and she now waited for one from her beloved batty father.

"Have you thought of anything you want to do over the break?" She asked tilting her head at the two people she had in front of her,"We could hmm...go to the beach or a pool....or a ...hm..."She didn't bring up skiing because it was too cold and being a water type, could sucked for her.

Daisuke remained fairly quiet as Hisana moved to greet her friend hanging back until Hisana sat down and he moved to sit next to her. Slouching slightly in his seat, he dug his hands into his pocket to grab his PSP before he listened to his sister talk. She was far more the talkative type then he was and he didn’t mind her chat with her friend well he sat there and just listened. Bringing up his PSP he turned it on, switching off the volume so he could listen to the girls talk. This was normally his role as Hisana’s brother, the quite one that loomed on the edge of his sister’s conversation.

It was only when Mikomi asked if they felt something out of the ordinary did Daisuke attention turn away from his PSP screen and come to rest upon the Arrancar. His expression made his lips to press together in a thin line. His eyes turned towards his sister as if looking to her for some kind of silent que, as his purple eyes seemed to blaze with an intensity he had acquired from his father. It was only when Hisana seemed to put off the question did something switched with in Daisuke and he returned his attention back to his PSP as if nothing had really happened. If his sister didn’t want to talk about it then he felt no need to bring it up. He really didn’t want to frighten his friends after all if it really came down to it he would protect them.

It was as simple as that.

“Is that punk that tried to abduct you still around here?” Daisuke asked his eye never leaving that PSP but the tone of his voice was enough to show how concerned he really was.

Daisuke knew Mikomi well enough to know she could take care of herself but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t step up and defend his friends. No, he was more than willing to help a perfect stranger out of a tough situation so his friends were no different. His eyes left the screen of his psp to scan the small cafe for anyone who was looking a bit too lecherous at either girl he was currently sitting with. Finding no one at the moment, he still kept his guard up. Letting both girls lapse into their conversation he tried to turn his attention back to his game.

It was all for nothing as he realized that he had made a mistake that had cost him the mission. As he watched his character die on the screen, he glared back at it unhappy that he had lost. Getting upset at himself, he quickly flicked off the game and shoved it back into his pocket with a bit of grimace. There was no need to save after all he hadn’t gotten far. Giving both girls his now full attention; he smirked at them.

“I wanna relax on break but knowing Hisana I’ll get dragged out anyways” He continued to smirk flashing his sister the grin. The statement was just truth and it really didn’t matter to Daisuke if his sister dragged him out or not but it always seemed to happen. “But shouldn’t you two run this by Airi because I’m sure you guys are gonna invite her”

Hisana smiled and looked excited, her voice coming in a great gasp at her next sentance.
"Oh, Mikomi-san! You should do dance with me! It would be so fun, and you're such a good dancer, you just need a good kick in the pants." It was clear that Hisana wasn't going to shirk when she thought to tell her friends how she felt. She adopted a thoughtful expression, and changed gears quickly. The absentmindedness was something she had picked up from Grandpa Isshin, who she had hung around too much too young in life.

"Well, I hear they've got this indoor pool on 4th, and a heated one too. Oh! And then there's that spa on Brook Street we could take Airi too. Maybe do some shopping, they've got that new boutique in the mall. And I need a new haircut." Hisana fished out a bit of strawberry from her cake and popped it into her mouth. She grinned at her brother, who looked slightly alarmed.

"Don't worry Dai, it'll just be a girls day. You don't have to come..if you don't want to!" She laughed brilliantly, warming up the atmosphere at the table as well as the surrounding ones as patrons looked around at the pretty girl laughing and smiled too. Hisana had the effect on people, it seemed. She was such a sociable creature that it was a wonder she had less socially inclined friends, as well as a brother. She often wondered where she got her social nature from, as neither of her parents were overly social, and Grandpa Byakushi seemed to be in a permanent hate the world status. She could only conclude it was from Uncle Renji and Grandpa Isshin that she had gotten it from.

She looked to Daisuke as he asked if the creeper was still around. Her green eyes searched the room as she shook her head,"No he is not....he ran as soon as I showed him the tools mother and father gave me..to think people fear seasoning spray..."She didn't know pepper spray was not actually pepper.

Her eyes moved over to her friends voice gasped, sorta wishing she did not say anything about dancing...." Um...well we can..I am not you flatter me...."She blinked a bit at the last part," But I am wearing a skirt today...?" She said with a slight head tilt. Hisana would know that Mikomi would not deny her friend the idea of dance class...for she would join now that Hisana wished.Though she would gain a rather red tint.

"Ah I see....you know everything don't you Hisana-chan...I envy you for that."She gave her a true smile only to tilt her head. She did need new clothes...the one her gigai was wearing was rather old, well about a few weeks...but to a girl well that was old enough."Airi-chan...she is welcome to come is she wishes....."Giving a light happy look...a spa, shopping, and a haircut sounded like a fun plan, though Mikomi though Hisana was cute with her hair as is.

Her eyes moved back to Daisuke as she shook her head,"Well you could come...you would be subjected to wearing a dress...that is about all.."She gave him a innocent smile as she wished to do so for a very long time....and perhaps add some bows with it as well."I was joking Dasuke-kun.....I will pick you up a new game...is there one you would prefer..?"She offered as she had no clue when his birthday was but no time like the present...for a present....

As Hisana starting to talk about their girl’s day out, he just knew this was one of the few outings he would not accompany them on. He hung around girls because of his sister, but he didn’t need anyone confusing him for one. He had to maintain a curtain level masculinity considering he was one of the toughest guys in school. One of the most well built too, but it was his antisocial personality that was the reason he was not running with the popular kids a school. As his sister excused him from the day, he merely nodded to show he had no interest in joining them on that date.

“I’ll hang out at the dojo with Tatsuki-sensei or maybe try and get back my DS from Yoruichi well you girls do your girl things.” Daisuke said with a slight shrug of his shoulders.

He enjoyed the time he spent with his sister and her friends but he could be perfectly content to be on his own if he needed to be. There was a new class for white belts starting up in the next few days and he was sure Tatsuki could use the help weathering the new recruits to her dojo. Also trying to get the one up on Yoruichi was something he normally failed at but that didn’t mean he wasn’t always in the mood to at least try. It was when Mikomi mention the dress that Daisuke’s eyes widened a moment as he threw up his hand.

“I good without the dress, the team would never let me live something like that down!” He defended quickly as he raised his hands before his eyes shifted to his sister. “And you” He pointed quickly at his sister. “Don’t even begin to think of ways to con me into this one, I’m telling you now right off the bat that there is no way you’ll get me in a dress period!”

Some inter twin instinct alerted him to the direction his sister’s mind was heading and he knew he needed to cut it off at the pass before she started to scheme. When she schemed he could never say ‘No’ it seemed and he really didn’t want to get involved in wearing a dress. Relaxing slightly after his point was known, he glance between the two girls trying to figure out something that he could tag along with. There weren’t many options but it normally didn’t bother to trail along with them even when they did do girly stuff because he always played the role of escort rather than being one of the girls.

“I could probably head to the pool with you guys in the beginning of the day then walk you guys to your spa thing.” Suddenly Daisuke folded his arms across his chest. “After all I won’t want any guys getting the wrong ideas seeing you girls in bathing suits” That protective tone seeped into his voice.

As popular as Hisana was, a glare from Daisuke always sent any guy who wanted to ask her out running for the hills. Mikomi and Airi were also on his list that he would protect from the viles of his sex if he was around. The way Daisuke figured if any guy still had enough balls to ask his sister out knowing Daisuke could beat him to an inch of his life deserved a chance with his sister. Granted that would be a supervised chance and if he did anything to his sister, he should sooner wish for death.
