As much as Harry appreciated Hermione's concern, it was lost on him. He was far beyond the point where her words could help. No matter what she said, it couldn't change the fact that he was stuck at Hogwarts instead of out there doing something to help his own cause. However, Hermione was right about one thing. Not eating was not going to help. Even though he wasn't hungry, Harry took a piece of toast.

Lost in his own thought, Harry was vaguely aware that someone was talking to him. Looking up, he found himself staring straight into shockingly golden eyes. It was one of the new students - Alice Cullen according to her introduction.

"Alice? I'm Harry. It's nice to meet you," Harry said, extending his hand in greeting.

As Alice shook his hand, Harry couldn't help but gasp. Her hands were ice cold, and hard as a rock. His brow furrowed as he took her in for the first time. She was short, and tiny, her brown hair sticking out in a messy yet... nice way. Her skin was pale, paler than even the Malfoys' and that was saying something. Her eyes - still holding his emerald green eyes in their gaze - were golden, as he noticed before. She had a nice smile, but her teeth seemed a bit too white. Harry decided that she seemed like a nice person, but there was something... off about her that he couldn't put his finger on.

Alice released his hand, and Harry took it back more quickly than he would have liked. "I'd like to help you, Alice, but I need to catch up with Hermione. Another time, perhaps?"

With that, Harry stood, gathered his bag and followed Hermione down to the dungeons.

Emmett nodded at the girl, Hermione was it, in acknowledgment and attempted a smile. As much a smile as he could anyway. The red haired kid's comment made his blood boil, enough so that if he could have blushed, he would have. He faintly imagined throwing him into a nice, hard, stone wall. If he could have without punishment, he probably would have. But the fact that he would be living with him for god knew how long made it impossible. Why couldn't these people understand that it was an accident? Was it really so hard to believe that his punch could maybe, just maybe have been directed to the crazy blue disappearing thing that had grabbed his nose?

Emmett looked around the quieting and emptying dinning hall and wondered why there was no bell system. 'This is an absolutely ancient school.' he reasoned. Though it still would have made everything so much easier. "Yeah," he grunted in the same impossibly low tone Edward had used. "Apparently, there are some weird blue things around the school." Just as he said that, he spotted something smiler to what he had seen before at the Gyfindor table. If he didn't have total awareness of his actions, Emmett's mouth would have fallen open. Everyone was acting so nonchalant about it! 'There's one at your house table.' he thought absently, not bothering to speak out loud anymore.

Emmett had never really been comfortable with Edward hearing his every thought. On many occasions he would have given up even his off-road baby back home for Bella's 'gift'. Edwards mind reading made it almost impossible to play a good prank on him. Though it wasn't as if Emmett hadn't attempted, and succeed, more than once or twice. Though every now and again Edward's little parlor tick did come in handy.

Emmett looked around for his family. Alice was talking to a brunet boy with huge, round glasses, who had left almost as soon as that girl had introduced herself. Jasper had left, and Rosalie was nowhere to be seen. He looked over to the red-head who had spoken of his accidental exploits earlier. Just looking at him was almost enough to make Emmett's blood boil. He grunted at the red-head, and gave him his best, 'talk-to-or-about-me-again-and-you'll-be-in-the-same-shape-as-that-unfortunate-girl' look, and continued taking in the sights of the Grand Hall. As he did so a thought occurred to him.

'How much PR am I going to have to do?' he thought both for Edward and himself with a mental shrug.

||Told you guys I'd get it done eventually. The fancy post I mean.||

With a sigh, he gathered his belongings, scooping them hastily into his bag. Probably going to pay the price for that later, but, oh well. He had other matters on his mind. One, the ever eluding Alice Cullen. Two, the blond boy who had completely ignored him and walked away. And three, "Ouch!"

Hello, stone wall. I suppose I did it again. But, when Arron looked up with his unique blue gray gold eyes, he saw it was not a stone wall. Just as hard, just as cold, it was the new brute. Taller than him by a solid two inches, at least. But, today was an extraordinary day. He didn't back up. They were standing with enough space between their chests for two textbooks, but just barely.

There was no anger or surprise in his eyes. He remained calm. It's like with a bear. Don't show any emotions like fear or anger or pain, nothing to strong. Quiet emotions only. DUll and calm, like that Hale fellow. Calm.

Edward would watch as the students started leaving the room to enter the grand hall, he payed little to no attention to the faces of the students, his eyes only focused once over to a Burnett who had greeted Emmet in a not-so-friendly way; his eyes looked into the girls eyes as she spoke, he would smirk lightly at her comment. He watched her as she left, his eyes turned over to watch as Jasper left the room, probably to the same class that he was heading to. He would nod lightly over to Emmet, as to follow and head to the first class. He heard Emmet's thoughts and glanced back over at the Gryfindor table, he raised his brow lightly before turning to start walking along side his family members, Jasper and Emmet. Edwards eyes were focused full ahead, even though he felt the eyes of others following him and his family, he couldn't really complain, they probably had never seen a group of people such as the Cullens before. He spoke quietly as they walked along. " I am going to assume we are all heading to potions.. " He pushed a cold pale hand through his bronze hair.

The quiet walk was interrupted by a smaller blonde student, who had run into Emmet, he would chuckle lightly, hearing the thoughts of the boy. He turned on his heel to face who had ran into Emmet, his arms dropped to his sides and his golden eyes focused on Arron in an intimidating way, this had been the second or third time that someone had ran into Emmet, and he was sure the boy was scared, especially if he had heard about the ' Mud blood ' who had gotten her face knocked in by him not thirty minutes ago. He smirked at the boys thoughts, he was terrified and the boy didn't hide it very well, his hands seemed to be shaking quite a bit." You should really watch where you're going. " Edward spoke in a low voice, which was accompanied by an early English accent.

Walking quickly to the dungeons, Harry finally caught up with Hermione as they entered the Potions classroom. Their professor was no where to be seen yet, and Harry was curious to see who is would be. As he opened his mouth to ask Hermione, Harry remembered why a new professor was necessary. Harry's hands clenched at his sides as his mouth snapped shut with an audible click.

Snape... Harry seethed inwardly.

Following Hermione, Harry took his usual seat at one of the back tables. Some of the Cullens were already in class, waiting patiently at their respective tables. With enormous effort, he managed to push all thoughts of Snape from his mind. There was something he needed to ask Hermione.

There was something strange about the new students. For one, they were all somehow related to each other. Granted, the Weasleys were the largest family Harry had even known, but this was somehow different. The only thing they had in common was their pale skin and their alarmingly golden eyes. They almost seemed too perfect for Harry, who found himself thinking of Alice and her 'sister' Rosalie. Harry knew something was up - why had they come here? And why now? If these students were transferring, seventh year was an odd time to transfer. Any protection Hogwarts could offer died with Dumbledore, so that couldn't be it either.

Harry pulled out his wand under the table and muttered "Muffliato!" before turning to Hermione.

"Hermione, I'm sure you've noticed this too. There's something not right about the new students. What do you make of them?"

Arron blinked, finding himself face to face with someone, thankfully at his height. Strangely enough, though the newcomer was of the same size, he still felt intimidated. Those gold CullenHale eyes are so...pretty. A watercolor masterpiece in the least. Makes Alice even more gorgeous than she already is. Now I really want to finish that sketch of her, wish she'd model for me. Wait, you just ran into a bear, dummy. Focus.

He just caught what the bronze haired boy had said. "I'm clumsy." he said simply, shrugging his shoulders and flashing a look at the bruite's massive muscles. "I think mostly on the right side of my brain, creative, you know. Much better at poems and stories and pictures than..." Another glance. "Walking...?" At this point he stepped to the other side of his savior, and reached out to tug on his sleeve. "C'mon Cullen, we have...Potions. Now."

Emmett leered down at the boy who had ran into him, his nostrels flareing, topaz eyes growing wide. He could feet his stone fists clinching themselves into balls. 'Just one punch,' his mind pleaded. He'd taken so much aggrivation in just a few hours and handled it better than he could ever have hoped, surely he desurved to give someone a swift punch upside the head. Just a quick one, he wouldn't hurt the boy, just damage him. Just damage him the slight- He stopped himself. There would be no punches. Not from here on out. What if this boy was a, what were the students calling it, a mud-blood or something like that. He cirtanly didn't want to be labeled as a mub-blood punch-outer or something.

He took a deep breath, out of habit more than anything. He didn't need to breathe. He hadn't needed to breathe since nineteen-fifteen. It calmed his boiling blood a bit, enough to quell the urge to punch the shorter brunnet boy. 'Theres no need to fly off the handel like a crazy person,' he thought in an attempt to calm himself down. It failed.

Emmett was thankfull that Edward has stepped in, his thick English accent brought him back down to a more normal earth. An Earth that he was fammiler with, not a Earth that was sprinkled with Pixi Dust or Puppydog Tails and mudbloods and punching innocents. He shook his head, at the short boy and Edward. Would he get into trouble for ditching? Proboly... But if he talked to that old guy... Who knew? If he exsplained the situation, maybe he'd get a 'Get out of Potions Free' pass. One could only dream.

'You guys go ahead, I'm going to that old guys office. Need to talk with him.' Emmett thought to Edward, pushing past he and the boy and starting for the office. Or whatever it was called. He was probobly going to get lost, but hey, that would be fun, right?

The pale figure exhaled roughly just as Emmett had done, his eyes were still trained on the boy who had ran into his adoptive brother. His eyebrows pulled together a bit while listening to Arron's thoughts, his eyes pulled away from the student for a second to look at Emmett, he would nod his head at his thoughts. Edward patted him on the back, showing him that he did well on not hitting the boy. Edward looked over at Arron and placed his in his pockets, avoiding the boys on-coming hand. " You were lucky, he does not usually react like that. " He turned around and began walking to the class, which he would be late to if he had not of had the walking speed he had, he fully expected the blonde to follow him to the class. He spoke as he walked to the student. " I saw you met Alice.. " He said quietly.

Arron rebounded quickly, and remembered his manners. He turned on his heel and dipped his head to the large Cullen before running after the bronze Cullen. He'd really have to learn their names. He walks so fast! I can barely keep up. He's not even breaking a sweat! "You must have keen eyes, I never even noticed you. It's so packed there in the mornings I could barely see her! But the way she walks is more like dancing, so I just listened for irregular footsteps."

He ruffled his hair with nervousness. He's so intimidating, but he seems like he has a good soul. Nice, but protective of something I'll probably never find out. "Alice is really out of this world, and not just pretty. She has a nice laugh and a beautiful smile, and I can tell that she's nice on the inside as well. I like that in a person, truly happy with goodwill and whatnot!" I really want to impress her with that sketch, so I'll work on it in Potions. We don't move around much then, so it'll be much easier to draw a still object.

He cast his gaze over to his silent companion. He seems sort of sullen, bitter about something. "She's your sister, I can tell without the last name. You all look like you're a different species from the rest of us! Seemingly flawless. It just gets curiouser and curiouser around here, but the great Cullen-Hale arrival is excellent! It's like drawing perfectly carved statues! Absolutely amazing!" He reminds me of Adonis, Alice like a dainty Artemis or a nicer version of Aphrodite. The brute like Atlas or Cronus, even.

"It's like you and your family are etheral beings." he said in a wondering tone, eyebrows raised, waiting for an answer of some sort. Hopefully lengthy, they'd have to cross the whole school and go down to get to Potions. "But what myth could you be from? As an artist, a basic myth would be good, all the better for backgrounds and themes, you'll see. I can only speculate which one it could be. What you are..." He grinned. "Oh, I know. You're vampires!"

Edward mentally sighed and slowed his pace a bit, letting the boy catch up to him easier, the bronze-haired man seemed perfectly at ease with Arron's questions, he had heard them before, there was always some sort of suspicious person. " 20/20, I have never worn spectacles. " He would shrug his shoulders lightly as he looked over at a nearby clock, they were already late.. There was no need to rush. He continued slower, his walk was still as graceful. He rolled his golden eyes. " Yes, that's Alice.. " He turned his head to the side, lifting his brow slightly. " I thank you for the compliments.. " Anyone else would have been weirded out about how the boy was going on about how his body looked. He just chuckled and looked over to him. " Oh yes, vampires.. drinking blood and such. " He laughed it off and continued walking.

Oh gods. Hermione’s eyes settled upon the uncomfortable figure of a Mister Jasper cullen and instantly she felt her own body grow tense. She thought that she’d be the only one down here at this point in time, looked like she wasn’t the only one searching for a place of solitude. Quickly, she scurried to her normal spot in the room, taking a seat and opening up the text to get a head start on the days work. However, her eyes didn’t stay on the page for too long. Rather, she was analyzing the male, trying to see what was so different about the Cullens, what drew everyone’s attention to them…besides such odd circumstances. This didn’t last long either, Harry taking a seat next to her and breaking her of any thoughts she’d had only moments earlier. He seemed upset again, perhaps since this was Snape’s domain. She never had the chance to ask, Harry quieting their words and keeping the conversation private-he wanted to know what she thought about the Cullens.

                            Go figure.

“So far?” Hermione paused, making a very obvious attempt at keeping her eyes focused on Harry versus turning around to glance over at the few ‘Cullens’ they were speaking about. She didn’t want to speak the obvious, even in the wizarding world Lycanthrope and Vampirism seemed a bit…far fetched at times. Yes, there were multiple incidents where she had been proven wrong-Lupin being a prime example of this-but she was sticking to her guns on this one. After all, if all these signs pointed to the walking blood banks, then Malfoy would be at the top of her list. Despite her best attempts to veer her brown eyes away from the group, she chanced the look, staring at the nearest brother of theirs-Jasper, the Hufflepuff. Pale, ice like and thick skin, purple hues under the eyes, amber colored iris-disputable, seeing as though all history texts referred to vampires being plagued with crimson eyes. “I have no idea.” Hermione, for once, didn’t want to admit to what she thought, figuring it best to leave things as they were versus publically point out the groups faults. She physically turned herself around, her back facing the rest of the classroom as her hand rose to her face.

“I don’t want to jump to conclusions about the family just yet, but don’t you find it odd that they’re all related? All around the same age group, too, if I were to guess just by looking at them…and only now being accepted into the school? In the midst of all the ongoing chaos and threat of…” The brunette shut herself up, quickly apologizing for her small slip of words. She hated admitting that this place was no longer safe, that there was a death eater in training around practically every corner, and that if Harry was right (which he honestly was) then Snape…once a professor, was also working for the Dark Lord. Though he had dissapeared over the summer. “Well, let’s just say that to the suspicious eye, their arrival isn’t going to be unnoted.” Hermione concluded, figuring that this was an acceptable answer to his question-what did she make of them? The girl didn’t trust their sudden appearance what so ever. Sometimes she wished she weren’t nearly as observant, that she was like that Ravenclaw student sitting up ahead, the one staring out into space without a care in the world. But at the same time, her keen senses often gave her a prideful feeling. Something to be proud of. A win lose situation, in other words.

A sneer hit her face suddenly, realizing just how nonchalantly she was treating the issue. What if they WERE vampires and she wasn’t doing anything to help protect her friends!? What type of person was she for that! She’d have to speak with McGonagall immediately, either confirm or clear up this question of hers-either way she wasn’t about to let it die in her head. The checklist was evident, they followed each small hint, and the only piece to the puzzle missing was the red eyes and speed. “Harry, I…don’t think we should be talking about this here. If they’re what I…think they are, or why they are here, then this conversation is best suited for another place, another time.” Hermione explained calmly, trying not to give away too much verbally, nothing that would come back to bite her in the rear later on. After all, that would be JUST what she needed to hear from Ron-‘You thought the Cullens were leeches! Great job ‘Mione, I can see that you’re under a lot of stress lately.’ The young lass rolled her eyes, spinning around in her seat to face the front of the class. She began to jot down notes from the blackboard up ahead, looking to the piece of paper with a slightly arched brow. There was another way to answer her question, but it could be dangerous. Would a paper cut trigger their thirst? Or the presence of blood, for that matter? Ugh! She was sounding crazy! Hermione shook her head, clearing her mind of all nonsense.

“Harry…I know that the Cullens seem…rather interesting to theorize about and question, but perhaps we should focus more on what we know for sure. Like, the ever growing threat of Death Eaters amongst the student populace, for one.” There was a hitch in her writing as well as breathing, Hermione unable to contain the loathing she felt at that moment. It was also the truth though, with such giant threats like them, it was probably in their best decision to just ignore the sudden appearance of that family and instead figure out how they were going to make it through this year without, you know, dying. “You’re still planning on running the DA, right? I think that those involved are going to need it now more than ever, sadly.” She explained, keeping that mature air to her despite her internal turmoil regarding the situation. The DA was important, it was important to the trio in their past, but she didn’t believe that it would do them-so much as the others-any good. Sure, they’d be able to protect themselves, but there was no doubt that Harry would be facing some dark magic in the near future, if he didn’t prepare himself…

The sandy blond, pale skinned, lanky boy laughed. He curled his fingers like claws and used a low voice. "Yush, I am the great vampire. I am here to suck your blood! Rawr!" After the words came out, he frowned and dropped his hands and raised his voice back to normal. "But what if vampires were good? Like, they didn't prey on humans, you know? Then we could exist with them peacefully, and maybe we could live in the same dorm at school! Wouldn't it be wonderful? Learning from them?"

He stopped walking and scuffed his shoe on the floor. "I'd give anything to paint a vampire." He slid down agaisnt the wall to sit in the alcove the window made. "Nothing special has ever happened to me. It would be wonderful to be able to be different. Soemthing magical." He lifted his head, eyes lighting up. "If you Cullens were vampires, then I bet one of you could do it! Like Alice!" But then he frowned. "But you're not, and you wouldn't because if you were you're in disguise right now and that would mean I'd know and then I'd be a liabilty to the mission except it'd expose me." He nodded thoughtfully. "And that'd be bad."

Edward rubbed his jaw in thought as he walked, the two were about to the door to the potions room, the dungeon. He would stop quietly by the door before turning around swiftly, his cloak flowed freely as he did so. He wold face the blonde, a smirk would show on his face. " Vampires will always be beasts, no matter how you put it.. They would never be able to keep their cool in an environment such as this, so I wouldn't count on learning from them unless you want to go to this ' forbidden forest ' I have been hearing about. " He would close his eyes for a second and would shrug. " Magical?.. You do realize this is a school, of magic..? " He would chuckle lightly to himself before placing his marble hand on the door, he pushed it open and stepped in, they had only been less than five minutes late. He would look over at the whispering students, the brunette from earlier, and some kid with glasses; he would have been able to hear the thoughts of the two, but ignored it. He stepped gracefully by them and made his way to the back of the room, he sat a couple of seats away from Jasper, and trained his golden eyes on the potions teacher, who hadn't heard him step in.

Emmett smiled at Edward's pat on the back. It was a nice gesture, one that Emmett fully appriciated. Though he wasn't sure one should be praised for no doing something they ought not be doing anyway. He could hear the conversation as he walked down the halls. It was wrong to eavsedrop, he knew that. But what was the point of haveing the most keen sence of sound if you couldn't use it?

Really, even if he didn't want to listen in on the conversation, the entire building was made of stone. Hard, sound reflecting, echo, stone. You couldn't make a more perfect vampire microphone. A building of stone with loud, angsty teenagers. The idea amazed Emmett. Had the founder intentionaly made it like that? Just to spite him? 'No way. This school is older than Carlisle and Esme combined, maybe even Edward too.' He thought. The idea perplexed him. Something older than half his immortal family combined, it was ridiculous. Yet, so were Wizards and Witches. And to them, so were vampires.

'Oh, I know. You're vampires!' the boy who had so rudely bumped into him sounded. Emmett's useless heart sunk. Had they been found out? Would he have to do something drastic? Something he'd just almost given himself an annurism trying not to do? The though was enough to send Emmett through the roof. What would he have done if the brunet had found them out? 'Punch the boy out.' Emmett thought in disdain. But that was him. Edward, he was the total opposite. Where Emmett saw a chance to get into a huge fight, Edward saw a chance to engage in a battle of... In a battle of wits!

That was it, Edward would do what he usually does when faced with a problem. Think it out, figure it out in a calm, unbruitish fashion.

'Vampires will always be beasts, no matter how you put it.. They would never be able to keep their cool in an environment such as this, so I wouldn't count on learning from them unless you want to go to this ' forbidden forest ' I have been hearing about.'

'He shoots, he scores! Game over man, Edward wins! Suspision defeted, 1 to 0. Emmett thought, looking around cautiously before doing a touchdown motion. He smiled brightly, wondering where the hell the Old Man's office might be. He turned a corner.

Lo' and behold, there was Edward and the brunet. "This is a big place." He said, trying to hide his smile. He succeed, though he didn't get the same gruff, angry feel he had left with.
