{ Vampire of course }

Every Romanian can be a champion too...
...and reach higher than second place

Why was it that Alexander was the only one who didn't care about everyone becoming a vampire? Because he's been one all along. Though, he could still go out in sunlight, with the aid of a big umbrella with long, tightly knit, black drapes on the sides to keep sunlight out. he was probably the most prepared for all of this. He had all the tools to survive, blood packets hidden in his secret fridge, black tinted windows, he even had his backyard laced with the black tinted windows, so that he could go outside during the day and not be burned to a crisp.

Sadly though, because he was so prepared, he was also blamed for what happened to the world. Just because he was one before this epidemic, it didn't mean he wanted everyone to be like him. He wanted to be unique, as he always wanted to be since he was younger. Now that everyone was pretty much like him....he wasn't special anymore. Just another country in the crowd. It was kinda lonely.

Nevertheless, he was still happy with life as it was. As long as he had enough blood to satisfy him, he'd be perfectly fine. "Hm...wonder where my spouting partner is..." By that, he meant Hungary. He hadn't seen her at all lately, and he missed teasing her. They were complete opposites. He was the ice, and she was the fire, and oh how he loved to make her burn. Burn baby burn~ "Hm?" That little blonde girl...the gun lover's sister...she seemed to be coming from...ooo~ A target even better to antagonize.

Running in the direction of the pianist's home, Alexander slipped right in through the window, grinning a toothy grin. He had no idea he was in here~ Slinking up behind the brunette, the vampire slid his arms around the male's waist, hissing softly into his ear. "Trick or treat...forget the trick, I want the treat~" He licked the side of his neck, before pulling away and laughing.

                                                                There's no place of return,
                                                                with us you'll yell anyway

Austria frowned a little when she said she fed from herself... was that why she was all bloody? Her wrist seemed practically mangled, and he didn't think that would really help much, would it? How could taking her own blood sate any sort of need? She didn't want to hurt him, he understood that... but the way she called him Papa then ran off with tears in his eyes... it broke his heart. He couldn't show it on the outside... he really wished that Liza was there... she was so good with this sort of thing...

What happened if she'd become a vampire? He didn't care, he would let her in too. So what if he was still normal, there wasn't anything different. He was always vulnerable, always beaten up and taken for granted... those that loved him would be welcome in his home, no matter what they were... He moved then, reaching out to grab her, but she was too quick and she was gone.

"Lili," he said, taking a few steps to follow her. What did he say to her? What could he do, she was in pain, and thought he would not love her anymore if she was different? It just... it just wasn't true, was it? He was frightened, yes, he didn't want to die, who did, but countries were much more hardy then normal people. It would take a lot more to kill them... a lot more. A thrust to the heart or head killed a human vampire, but he did not think that would work for one made from one of them...

"Lili, come back," he said, taking a few more steps, starting to run toward where she'd gone when he heard the whisper of his name. He turned then, looking out the window... in the dark he saw green eyes, and a pale face... she probably hadn't meant for him to hear her, but the windows had holes in them now, he'd taped plastic to it, but that did nothing to keep sound outside. She was standing right next to the worst of the bunch.

"Liza, come inside," he said, giving her a rather impatient face. He walked over to the window and looked out at her, reaching up with a gloved hand and motioning her to come closer. She didn't really look much better then Lili, "it's alright if you were sick, I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you..." His brow furrowed, he was angry at himself for not just telling her how he felt about her, it didn't matter what she was... he closed his eyes then, suddenly feeling very alone... was everyone else a vampire too? Italy? He would make a rather wretched one, wouldn't he? Germany? Who was left like him?

His eyes popped open in fright when he heard the window behind him shatter, but before he could turn to look at what had done it, his sword half way out of the sheath, he was pinned to the wall, strong arms around his waist. He heard the whisper in his ear, and he shuddered when the tongue licked along his neck. He braced himself on the glass in front of him, not sure what was going to happen, but then the pressure on his back was gone, and he freed his sword, turning on Romania... "What do you think your doing!" If little steam puffs of anger could be seen, there would be many around Roderich, like a infuriated halo of Austrian need for vengeance!

Ludwig felt rather bad for waking Italy up, the small man seemed completely exhausted, and he couldn't help but wonder where Romano was... why wasn't he here protecting Feliciano in his stead? Well, it didn't matter now, he was here, and he'd protect Feli from everything. He'd endured a lot just to get there, there was no way he'd let him suffer anymore... his chest hurt just thinking about how scared he must have been. If this was a world where Italy couldn't smile, then what kind of place was this now... Hell... it was a worse hell then any battlefield because no matter where they went, there was no place that was safe.

His tawny haired friend reached up and touched the bite marks on his neck, but he didn't wince, the pain wasn't that bad. He was rather dirty and bloody however, he should shower and shave... and verdammen, he was going to get his hair to cooperate! He reached up and took Feli's hand, holding his trembling fingers in his. His whole body was shaking, and the German got a rather sad look on his face... he was truly terrified, wasn't he?

Guilt settled around him, feeling horrible that he'd waited even a moment after the plague had passed. When he knew what was happening, he should have came to Italy's side... even if his people needed him with them, they were strong, they could manage the time it took him to come get Feli and return. "It's all my fault, I'm sorry I took so long." He looked so tired, so frail... he was over come with the need to make things better for him.

Perhaps he would be able to sleep better with someone in the bed? That seemed to help before, even without roaming vampires, he seemed to do better with someone close. It wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't like Feli hadn't crawled into bed with him before... so it wouldn't be weird to offer, right? He would have to clean up, and stay mostly dressed just in case, but if it help Italy sleep, then there probably wouldn't be any harm in it.

"You haven't been sleeping much," it wasn't a question, he already knew... and the fact he hadn't been just showed what bad shape he was in. "I'll get cleaned up, then I'll lay down with you. Is Romano with Spain? Have you been here on your own?" Feliciano was really a social butterfly, being alone in such a scary situation probably caused him some trauma... maybe permanent psychological damage. It was all his fault, why hadn't he been faster?

He reached out then and leaned forward, wrapping his arms around his shoulders. He pulled him into a rather tight hug, not even making Feliciano ask for one... he freely gave it... if it was out of regret, guilt... or something else, he didn't know. Ludwig just knew he had to try and make Italy feel better, he had to do something and that was the only thing he could think of... give him things he normally whined about having without being prompted or cajoled. "Ich bin traurig," he whispered to him, hoping that somehow he could make up for the fact he was late when Italy needed him the most.

Translation: verdammen: Damn, Ich bin traurig: I'm sorry

The secret side of me
I never let you see
I keep it caged but I can't control it
So stay away from me
The beast is ugly
I feel the rage and I just can't hold it

Shame. That was the only way to describe what she was feeling now. She was ashamed of herself, of her action, of what she had become, and what she now needed to do to survive. She had yet to experience any blankness of the mind, related to her Thirst, but she supposed that that was merely because her body was already used to being denied nourishment… Now, it was merely denied a different sort of nourishment, but it was still denied it nonetheless. She smiled bitterly, as her tears dried. Leaned up against the wall in the upstairs hallway, she took a moment to look around, and to remember.

She remembered the times she had run up and down this hall as a child, the fun times, the sad times… The times she had been able to love the two people she considered her parents – as her parents, rather than just fellow countries. When she didn’t have to hide whom she considered her family, for fear of how other family would react to it. She knew what she was doing; she was ignoring the situation at hand, she was wallowing in self-pity. Even if it wasn’t quite in her nature, she supposed that she was allowed a bit out of character moments…

After all, no-one could remain entirely the same, after such a thing happened to them. Her internal issues, however, were quickly and suddenly shoved aside, when she smelled something she hoped not to smell. She had come to learn that certain emotions, if they were strong enough, produced a palpable scent. The same could be said for blood, along with the fact that each person’s blood smelled different; a vampire’s blood usually tended to have a certain acidic smell to it, along with tasting rather horrid (she knew that from experience…).

As for what she smelled, it was easily enough to pinpoint. She smelled fear, and the blood of another vampire. This vampire’s blood, however, was what worried her more than even the scent of her “father”s fear; this vampire’s blood smelled different, such that she could only conclude that he was older – much older – than any of the others. She only knew one person – one nation – that had been a vampire before all of this happened: Romania. She could deduce the situation well enough, and it made her blood boil.

While she had often felt such anger before, she had never before been able to deal with it, so she had merely transferred it into music. This time, however… She allowed her need for blood mingle with the rage, and her mind emptied of every thought but one: protect those she loved by tearing any threat of them to bloody shreds. (Her submerged common sense knew she couldn’t really hurt Romania, but perhaps she could take him off guard long enough for Hungary to give her a hand…) That in mind, in a blur of rage-enhanced speed, she was back down the stairs, and had her fangs poised at her fellow blonde’s neck.

“Hands off,” she growled, her voice sounding altogether unlike herself, but, probably, under the circumstances, it was understandable… She hoped.

My secret side I keep
Hid under lock and key
I keep it caged but I can't control it
Cause if I let him out –
He'll tear me up, break me down
Why won't somebody come and save me from this?
Make it end…?

Holding his breath half to death

and so it goes

Staring at the bite marks Feliciano watched Ludwig for any sign of pain, caramel orbs dancing softly with worry but relaxing when he seemed painless. As his hand was gently grabbed Felicianos' fingers twitched gently weaving the two hands together. Ludwig was warm and familiar, something that was comforting enough for him to relax closing his eyes again and snuggle against the other. He wished he could lay like that all day...When Ludwig began to apologize he nuzzled against his friend gently tiredly. "It's ok...You're here and I'm safe now..." he said softly, his voice weak again with the fatigue brought upon himself.

He hadn't been sleeping..Ludwig was good at taking notice of such things. He nodded gently, the action becoming more of a failed attempt to keep his head up. "Romano went to check on Spain....He hasn't gotten home...I don't remember how long ago it was..." he said trying to recall, he relaxed when Ludwig said he'd lay with him. He really, really could use any form of company. He'd grown used to the silence save for his own breathing and the shuffling outside. Fights occasionally broke out but they ended quickly with sharp cries of pain. The noise would often send the poor Italian under the bed to try and escape the noise. The noise, the damned noise those things would make when something was stricken down...He bit into his lip and gently rocked a little, his curl quivering as though the strange piece of hair was trying to shake the thought entirely free from Felicianos' head.

He inhaled sharply when an arm slipped around his shoulders pulling him into a tight hug. He exhaled after a moment, both arms tightening around Ludwig as the rocking ceased. His trembling was easing away for now, just being held seemed to make him feel a bit more stable mentally. "È ok...Don't leave me alone però...Per favore..." he whispered, desperation in his voice as he fought with his eyes to stay open. He wanted to be awake with Ludwig just for a bit...Just a bit...When he slept he was alone...He didn't want that to happen, not just yet...He was finally feeling safe.

User ImageUser ImageIf there was anyone else in the world, Elizaveta would probably understand Lili the most at that very moment. The girl-child was yet afraid of this virus. She herself was deathly afraid of this disease. That was how she could relate to Liechtenstein well at that very moment. She wallowed in self-loathing toward those that she had harmed. Even though she was a vehement girl growing up, she had never moved to kill anyone. She was thirsty for battle and thirsty for the fight, but she did not yearn to take life so much as the desire to conquer and win. That was one that many boys wanted, to win over someone else. However, she never wanted to consume anyone literally. There were other feelings of consumption, but those came from maturity and not the same sort of desire... despite how many metaphors compared the hungers of the body for food and for sex. They were quite different, especially different when suddenly for her-they blurred together.

She did not want to intrude upon Austria's home when Lili had escaped down the halls. If the girl was running because she suddenly desired to bite into Roderich, then it was better than she leave. It was the mature thing to do. It would mean that Hungary did not have to intervene and harm either of them in the emotional sentiment. Lili was still herself, and Elizaveta was presently well fed enough to maintain her own self-image. However, there was still temptation when she needed a meal... Every six to eight hours, the desire to feed rose within her. It faded like human hunger and passed, but six to eight hours there after, the hunger tripled so it was better than she consumed very little all the time to both control her hunger since she would never be "completely" starving and thus never drink more than a human body could give at once.

Perhaps once Roderich went to sleep, she would confront Lili about this notion. It was sickening to have to drink upon one's blood. It was like not eating anything at all, swallowing one's saliva. She was still young and perhaps willing to learn from Hungary. She would have to consume human blood, but it would be at a slower rate albeit constant-consistently if she was not to kill anyone...

Her gaze flicked up from the darkness, sure that Roderich could not see her. However, he stared right at her now... Perhaps she had spoken louder than she initially believed... He came to the window and gestured for her to come near. Hungary leaned back not certain that she wished to come closer to the artificial light within his home. He would see her face, unnatural pale and cold with fangs sharp enough to pierce the skin upon a whim. She was afraid that he would see that and compare to those vampires that had tasted the sweet, deliciousness that was human blood... Even she had trouble when hungry desire reared its seductive head. He was staring right at her, the epitome of both.

Hungary stepped forward, dark brown hair untied and freed. Her clothing was torn with flecks of blood on the edges but otherwise still very much intact. She weakly smiled at his impatient expression. He treated her the same, irritate with her rather than angry or afraid as if there was nothing strange about her standing outside his window and watching him... guarding him. She opened her mouth, "It's not your fault... you can see what I am so you shouldn't-" She paused eyes flashing at the broken window because something had so suddenly occurred.

Adrenaline poured through her. Her mouth opened and her fangs were bared. She leaped up on to the already broken windowsill, hissing aggressively at the intruder. Her green eyes narrowed with vehemence toward the appearance of Romania, one who was a vampire before the rest. He was swift in sweeping Austria into his arms. Hungary took this as great offense, never truly getting along with Romania unless absolutely necessary... They were two sides of a single coin, one coin yes but never able to quite see eye to eye. Emotions burned through her, fueling her vampiric instincts to remove those that would think to lay their hands upon anything that she had claimed as her own even if she did not verbally confess to it and only mentally believed it. That was enough.

What's worse was her already primed instinct to fight and attack. She might have leaped at Romania right then for laying hands and mouth and blatant flirting with those of her own if another of her own was not ahead of her... Lili had rushed back down the stairs when she had sensed the unease and had taken hold of Romania. If Elizaveta had truly acted then, she might have harmed both Romania and Lili. Fortunately she had stopped herself from pushing the two against the wall right then.

She used Lili's opening them to break Romania's hold upon Austria. Hungary took the man in her less dominant arm and practically threw him over her shoulder. Her shoulders were not broad enough so she had to keep her arm up and around his narrow waist to keep him balanced. She refused to put him down, wanting to keep him close enough to her so that she could move them both as quickly as she could, although slower because of Austria's additional weight. Her gaze, movements, and expressions were undoubtedly more feral than when she was a child chasing after wild horses.

Her dominant hand was outstretched with a sabre and not her frying pan... something she had switched back to in lieu of the new situation. She held the blade at Romania's neck, glancing a softened gaze at her "daughter" before hardening her eyes upon Romania. She bit out harshly still bearing her fangs, "Do. Not. Try. That. Again. Or else we won't show you any mercy." She referred to both herself and Lili. God would have to forgive her because she was not going to allow anyone to lay their hands upon Austria... herself and Lili included if either were going to see Roderich as anything but an equal.

❤ Koninkrijk België ❤

Goosebumps arose on the soft, rosy skin of the young Belgian girl as she ran down the walkway to the home of the Italys. She was dressed in numerous layers, covered head to toe in clothes, to protect herself from the sun. She was close to tears, fear coursing through her like blood through her veins. She leapt up the steps and fell against the door, sliding down to her knees, weakly pounding on the door. She was shaking, close to sobs. "L-Lovi! Lovino! Please, answer the door!" Her voice rang out, shaky and desperate. She was more than worried. She needed to know.

Emma let out a breathy sigh and wiped her eyes, feeling the tears running down her cheeks. She was afraid that Lovino had been turned like she had, or worse, that he was injured in some way. She would never forgive herself if something happened to him. She ran her fingers through her hair and then shot up to the handle on the door, opening it. The door opened inwardly and she fell in with it. "Lovino... Where are you?" She called out as she scrambled to her feet. She shed about two layers, the house being less sunny than the outside, though it was still quite. She dumped them on the floor and took off down the hallway, calling out his name.

She was angry at herself for becoming infected, even though there was really no way for her to avoid it. She frowned and then hoped deeply that her little Southern Italian wasn't going through the same stress as she was. 'I'm not sure which is worse... Being a 'vampire' or being a human, right now.' She shook her head and stared down at her stomach. It growled. "Verdomme!" She swore aloud. She didn't want to be hungry, even though she was sure that she could most certainly control herself around her loved ones. She treasured Lovino far too much to ever dream of attacking him, and the same with Antonio. She would never do that to them. Emma let out another sigh and slid around a corner, coming face to face with an Italian, and a German. Not the Italian she was looking for, but it was a start. She had found one of them, so the other couldn't be too far away. Right?

"Feliciano! Are you okay? Have you seen Lovino? I apologize for letting myself into your house, but I'm so worried about him... I just..." She trailed off, pausing and taking a breath. She was talking a mile a minute, and even if she was talking to an Italian, she wasn't sure if he had gotten any of it. She then looked up at Ludwig and gave him a pleading look, asking and explaining to him the same exact thing. She clasped her hands together and her green eyes filled with such sadness. She suddenly realized, the scent finally reaching her nose, which was stuffed up from crying. Emma blinked and squeezed her hands tighter, trying to restrain herself. 'No! Emma, don't you dare attack.' She screamed at herself in her mind. She would stay calm around them. Even if she was a hungry vampire and near a bloody, injured human, she wasn't about to attack anyone. That little, crucial, life-or-death detail needed to stay a secret.

User ImageUser ImageTaiwan wrung her fingers around the stick repetitively. She might have done the same with the hem of her dress if she were sitting down and it was longer. Standing up, she would have used the edge of her sleeves the twist, but she had opted for a short sleeve dress. It covered less skin and was more revealing as a result. However, it was lighter and did not weigh her down as much. Vampire fangs were sharp. It didn't matter what she wore, the fangs would pierce through any turtleneck or piece of clothing that she owned. She might as well make use of something shorter and more efficient. It wasn't as if clothing would hide the sent of blood or protect her from someone trying to hit her or bite her. Or that was how it logically felt to her.

Night had just fallen, and she could feel eyes upon her even if she could not see them. She gripped the stick tighter and tighter. She would have to start knocking people down if America wasn't home. Perhaps she really should have gone to intrude upon Japan... She had tried to get a hold of him before a couple times, but he didn't answer... She only tried a few times before she thought she might have been bothering him too much because he wasn't picking up the phone. After all, Taiwan absolutely did not want Japan to hate her or anything. That was the furthest thing from her mind. She just wanted him to like her... be friends with her at the very least since they might not have been on such good terms after World War II.

Her shoulders hung themselves a bit. Just as she was about to turn around, the door opened. She recognized the blond haired man with glasses before her. She could not have been more relieved to see him. He pulled her in immediately. She did not fight it. She was ready to let herself in if he wasn't going to let her in right away. It was not exactly safe just standing at door ways any more. She rushed in to the opposite side of the atrium as America locked and bolted the door before anyone could get at them. She hurried so that she could get out of the way and as far from the door as possible before about facing to look at him from further in his house than him.

Her eyes widened and her face paled as the color drained from her features. America made a good point. She had impulsively decided to visit America... They were rather gluttonous people, especially America himself. It was actually probably pretty dangerous to have said gluttonous people everywhere around her especially if they were vampires. Images of what would have happened if America really wasn't around surfaced... Bad bad bad images. She cringed at the thought of being more than sucked dry. There'd be nothing left of her. She squeezed her eyes shut. Not fun at all.

She opened them again to see a sheepishly grinning America. What a pale complexion he had, she noted. What sharp fangs he also had, she saw in his smile... They were evidence towards him being a vampire. However, he seemed totally normal to her. The other vampires she had encountered, a handful but not many since she was quick to hide or run, had attempted to attack and eat her right away. Then again, she also did not get a very good chance to examine them since she was always trying to escape or whack or something. She tried not to remain in dangerous situations. That was probably for the better. He confirmed moments later what had become of him.

As unsurprising as his features were, she still seemed quite surprise... The America was a vampire? He said he would protect her. He seemed normally. He certainly did not try to eat her. Taiwan frowned a bit but not out of fear... Okay so she was a little afraid since he had locked the door. However, he seemed normal to her... She relaxed her grip on her stick, but she didn't put it down. She asked hesitantly since she was worried about herself but also worried about him. "America, are you okay?" He missed then sun and said such nice things... He was still very kind and giddy so it was hard to picture him as a bloodthirsty beast like the others she'd seen... "Was it hard on you?"

Taiwan was unsurprisingly air-headed and naive. When she should have been more worried about herself, she found herself becoming more worried about America. He seemed so much sadder than she was even though she was the one scraping for her life. It was like not seeing the sun for him was draining the sunniness of his disposition. It was rather sad that although he smiled, he wasn't smiling quite to his eyes like she knew him to. It was heartbreaking.

Naive Taiwan stepped forward, touching his arm in a comforting sort of way. It was really hard on him wasn't it? She grinned at him, trying to muster up as much sun as she could since he could no longer stand in it. She declared, "If America is sad and bleak because he cannot see the sun, the sun will not be as sunny. So if America remains bright, the sun will have to be sunny enough. And when America is bright, he does not need the sun anyways. It is only so that everyone else can bask in America's bright sun and the sun's brightness." It was a metaphor for the people looking to America to lead the way as they always did. America could still turn the tides and stand on his own. He did not need to rely on anyone but himself. Then everyone would else soon follow his example because he was a strong trendsetter that made waves in all the world.

Taiwan was actually a very simple person who saw things very simply. That was her fault but also her appeal. She smiled at him as brightly as the sun on her flag. She reached out and pressed her index fingers to the corners of his lips and pushed them awkwardly extra high in an odd, forced smile for him, "As long as America is sunny and bright like America always is, why should I be scared? The brightness always lights the way and pushes away the scary monsters in the dark, right? That is why America should not be afraid of the dark or miss the sun because he can be the sun." She was not arrogant enough to believe herself the sun or even a place where the sun rose like Japan, but she believed in the power of warmth and sunlight because her comfortable country was always warm and tropical.

She released her hands during her little spiel and stepped forward. She paused and looked back to add with a pleasant smile, "America is always a little weird to me but not being sunny is even freakier and weirder." Then she turned back ahead and declared, "To the war room, right?" She placed her finger to her chin, looking left and right. America's house was huge... She wasn't there too often, but she believed it might have been to the right... Of course she was wrong. Her sense of direction was really crap, but she began walking forward confidently in that direction anyways or at least until America would most definitely stop her and turn her around to go in the right direction.

Every Romanian can be a champion too...

Alexander chuckled at the pianist' reaction. He had expected him to freak out about it, natural human responses of fight or flight. It was fascinating to watch in person, other than watching horror movies. A faint blush came to his face as he leaned his head on his palm, thinking about how much he loved watching other people's fear. It gave him a rush in his blood and made his heart, assuming he still had one, pump faster. "It was only joke. No need to yell."

His eyes widened in surprise as Lili, of all people, pushed him away from Roderich. His eyes narrowed dangerously as he hissed quietly. "You make mistake, miss..." He murmured, eyes slitting as he glared down at her. He could smell that she was weak, feeding herself from only herself, that fends off as much hunger as one swallowing his own spit. He could tell she was hungry just by looking at her thin frame and hungry look in her eyes. A small grin came to his face. "Little girl has made big step...I am impressed....but not impressed enough."

His eyes turned to Hungary shortly after she made an appearance on the scene. He snickered, flashing a toothy grin. "My, my look what we have here~ If it isn't my best friend~" He hissed at the sword at his neck. So, this was how it was going to be huh? Turn on him for being nothing more than himself. How delightful. "You both have lost your minds...not to bloodlust, but to your own hearts...how pathetic. If I had meant to cause him any harm, I would have already done it. I could have just drunk his blood until it was all gone, but where would that leave me? A murderer? Not I."

                                                                There's no place of return,
                                                                with us you'll yell anyway

America was kind of expecting for her to run off, hopefully somewhere into his house and not outside because it was not at all safe out there, but she surprised him a little. She didn't run, she stood there and looked at him, her expression started tense, and he could hear her heart pounding, but she gradually calmed, even relaxing the hold she had on the stick. Her expression softened even, going from a little scared to sad... why was she sad?

She walked up to him, she didn't seem afraid, and she placed her hand on his arm. When she spoke, he had to swallow hard to get the lump out of his throat. She wanted to know how he felt? Wasn't she supposed to be scared of him? Worried for herself? He hadn't killed anyone, but he had attacked before... he'd hurt that girl, he still hoped she was going to be alright... but here she was, close enough to touch him, asking how he was

                                                "It's hard,"
he whispered, his blue eyes filling with tears, but he didn't let them fall... he was strong, but he was really barely and adult... he'd been trying to stay strong for everyone else, this was the first time someone had wanted to know how he was. "It hurt, for a whole week all I wanted to do was die... but I didn't, I kinda wish I had... and now it always hurts a little... but with bags of blood from the hospital, I think I'll be okay... I feel pretty normal now. I haven't killed anyone... I hurt one girl, but I think she'll be okay. I'd gone way too long without blood..."

He took his glasses off them and rubbed the back of his jacket over his eyes, making sure that none of the water escaped... he didn't want to cry in front of her... he didn't want to cry at all, it was totally uncool and very non-heroic. Then she started talking about him not needing the sun if he was as he was supposed to be. She was very sweet, but he understood what she was trying to do. She was trying to remind him that he was still himself, even if he was changed in body, there was no reason for him to be changed on the inside. He was still America, the Home of the Brave! He couldn't just stay here and hide, he needed to face his demons and conquer them. So what if someone bled in front of him... he was the strongest! He could resist anything.

Alfred blinked at her, his glasses still in his hand, but she was pushing his lips into a smile, exposing his fangs, but she didn't seem to mind. He laughed then, grabbing both her tiny hands in one of his big ones. He leaned down a little to look at her closely, and he gave her a huge, cheese grin... this time it went clear to his sparkling blue eyes. He put his glasses back on, releasing her hands, only so he could grabbed her around the shoulders.

He hugged her, not too tight, but tight enough, moving his face so it wasn't toward her neck... not because he was tempted, but because he didn't want to make her worried. He could never bite Taiwan, she was kinda like a little sister to him. "Thank you," he said softly, "I needed that." It was just as effective as a swift kick in the butt! He pulled back then, smiling at her again, and he nodded. "Right, to the war room, you can be my sidekick Mei! You can learn how to be a top notch hero from the best there ever was." He winked at her and took her hand in his, "now don't get lost now, my house is HUGE!" He laughed, a real laugh, and he started to drag her down the hallway.

Kiku was expecting China to be cute, or yell at him for not calling or something, but what he got was not what he expected. It made him almost want to not pick up any other calls, who other people that were important were also turn as he was? But, part of him was happy too, not to be the only one... It was terrible to think that about someone else, to damn them just to not be alone... but Japan had been alone for so long, before he hadn't understood what that meant... but now, he knew. He had friends, he had people he cared about... he didn't want to be alone anymore.

"If you are a monster, then so am I,"
he'd just broken yet another rule put down by his boss, but lately he was not making the right ones... he was the people, not the boss... he had to do as they all wanted... and that was support those that had turned to support them when they needed it most. That was his decision, and he would leave Japan and go abroad, and he hoped that those taken by the blood rage could find their humanity again... there were so few of any of them left... he didn't want to kill anyone anymore.

"Chugoku wa kikimasu... it matter's not what we've become... we must stay strong! You are indomitable China, this will not end you. I will tell myself the same thing and stop hiding on my island. Watashi wa kiteimasu."
He moved then, leaving the phone to his ear and he knocked on the wood paneling, waiting for Minimoto-san to come at his call. She did, bowing toward the closed shouji screen.

"The car with blacked out windows, I need it and a driver... gloves, my winter haori, and a sugegasa with a veil. Fetch some of those mochi that China is fond of."

                                                "You are visiting Chugoku-san, Nihon-san?"

"Just get it ready, quickly please. Don't ask questions, and if someone comes looking for me, simply tell them to call my cell."

                                                "China, tell me what happened,"
he said as he slipped out of his kimono and grabbed a heavy, dark turtle neck and black jeans. He put on a stylish, fake fur lined black coat and hiking boots. When the gloves, hat and haori came, the attendant also told him the car was on the street. He grabbed a back pack she also made with blood packs, some food, candy and other essentials. He tied his katana to his belt, then put the veiled hat on, and covered it with the dark blue haori.

His maid took his covered hand and lead him out, he had to close his eyes, and he made a little pained sound to China in the phone, but he just wanted to keep the depressed country on the line. He nearly got shoved in the car, which was totally black with dark curtains all over. Kiku pushed the hat and haori off, resting his katana on the seat next to him. "China, I'm on my way, be ready for me to arrive." He ran his gloved fingers over his cheeks... they were pink just from the reflection of the light off the cement... he had to be crazy...

Translation: Chugoku wa kikimasu: China, listen, Watashi wa kiteimasu: I'm coming (to your location), shouji: paper and wood used for screens and doors in traditional Japanese homes, haori: over kimono, like a jacket, sugegasa: conical rice picking hat, mochi: rice candy, Chugoku-san, Nihon-san: Mr. China, Mr. Japan, katana: Japanese style sword

Yao sniffled and listened to the other voice on the line. He rubbed his face and slowly sat up. He was a monster too...? Did that mean he was a vampire too..? That had to be it...He was actually...encouraging him. Indomitable...why was he that? There had been numerous accounts of him being taken over, from the Japanese man himself even. How could he think he was indomitable? It was he who said he was too weak to even be a nation, he beat and battered him yet he tells him now that he is indomitable. Maybe...maybe he wasn't referring to how many times he was invaded...but how many times he refused to stay down...always fighting to get back up.

He weakly smiled. Kiku was going to come see him...he hadn't visited in a long time...what a relief, but he stiffened as the other asked what had happened. He bit his lip, then felt the metallic liquid in his mouth and sniffled. "I-I don't k-know what happened... I hadn't eaten in while...a-and Tai was just bringing me some tea, aru..she was such a nice girl...always sweet...she was one of my only friends..." He sniffled and paused, not wanting to go on. The memory was still fresh in his mind, setting his blood to boil and made his chest heave. "I-I dropped tea cup on floor, aru...a-and she picked it up, cutting her finger...it was jsut a small cut, aru...b-but I was so hungry...ngh...I drank her dry...I didn't even know what I was doing...I just felt her blood in me, rushing through my ears..." He let a small sob escape his lips, his body shaking.

Reluctantly, he made himself get out of bed and get someone to prepare for Kiku's arrival, wanting to make it as painless as possible to get inside the house. All the time he was listening to the younger nation, rocking on his feet. Soon, his little brother could be here...and he wouldn't be alone anymore...he'd have someone to comfort him now...

Austria watched as everything went extremely bad very quickly. He'd just been playing his piano, and now he had three vampires angry at each other... this was not good for his health. He was lifted up, Liza's arm around his waist, and he sighed a little... "Elizaveta, put me down, I'm fine..." He patted the top of her head and when he was on the ground, he sighed, straightening out his suit.

"He just startled me, he didn't harm me..."
He made sure everything was straight, then he frowned at them all, starting with Romania. "That was a bad joke with what is happening, don't do it again. You," he pointed to Lili, his face softening a bit, "we'll find out a way so you don't have to bite yourself, and you are a mess! As your Papa, you wouldn't want the head of this house to look bad, even in these times would you?" He turned and looked at his wife, because in his heart she would always be, and he wanted very much to grab her up in a hug, but he refrained, for now...

"And you, did you think it was proper for my wife to stay on the outside, listen here! I don't care what you are, you are still part of this family. The allies might have broken us up, but that doesn't make it any less true. My wife will be at my side, my daughter will be clean and properly fed, and my brother will refrain from licking me please."
He stomped his foot to make his point clear, the sound echoing through the hall. He didn't care if they'd been changed because of the virus, it wasn't their fault.

"Now, Lichtenstein, go take a bath, get on a clean dress. Hungary, you should help her, make sure she's taken care of. Romania, I need you to help be find some source of blood for everyone... I'm sure you know the best ways..."
Would animal blood work? Or perhaps the blood packs from the hospital? He couldn't get any of that right now, but in the morning he could get it, they would just have to wait until morning.

"This is our family, and I am the patriarch."
He wasn't going to give them any reason to doubt him, he was the best at giving orders, so that was what he was going to do. He was going to make sure everyone was as happy as they could be, and while he didn't know how to really show affection, he could through his actions and his music. He would protect them, because they were on the outside now... and they would protect him from the predators.

It wasn't like this would break them up, even if one of them bit him, he was far sturdier then a human, it would be better for them anyway. He didn't really like the idea, but he'd do it if he had too. He'd survived worst things certainly... he wasn't going to let this worry him. He would help everyone the best he could, and he would not let his family get broken up again. It wasn't like NATO or the UN would deny it... everyone needed to band together if they were going to survive.

Ludwig felt Feliciano's arms wrap around him, holding onto his rather frayed tank top, and he just held him for awhile, wanting to make him stop shaking. Eventually he did, his muscles unwinding, he could feel it under his hands. After a few moments he leaned back a little and looked him in the eyes, his hand coming up to wipe some blood off his cheek that had gotten smeared in the desperate hug. "Ich werde nicht," he said to the gentle pleading, he wouldn't leave his side, not ever again... no matter how annoyed he might get, he'd just accept it.

"Italy, I need to get cleaned up and changed, do you want to come with me, or stay here?"
He moved a little then, taking the gun off his back, and leaning it against the wall, then placing his pack next to it. He left both his hand guns at his belt for now, and his knife was in his boot, but just in case, he didn't want to be caught unarmed, not when he had to protect the small Italian. He reached up and gently smoothed out Feli's hair, it was messy from being under the blanket, and he couldn't stand it anymore, it was in such disarray... if he took it as affection, then that was fine too.

He could see that Italy was exhausted, and he did want him to sleep, so he guessed if he didn't care that the German was bloody and dirty, he'd just let him fall asleep before taking a moment to take a shower. Maybe that would be best, and it would give him a moment to check the house, and make sure it was fell defensible. He had to think about these things, and he hadn't had much time to clean his weapons on the way there... he needed to reload the shot gun...

He was running through a list of things he needed to do before he could sleep, just like he had been for days, always with survival in mind. Now, he had to think about Feliciano's mental health as well as in body, but he was sure he could manage that. He needed to feel secure, it had been that way since he'd tried to trick him with the Box of Tomatoes Fairy... he was easily freaked out, but if he had someone with him, he would be okay... Ludwig had faith in him. He pushed his boots off, and he moved a little, leaning against the wall, and he tucked the Italian at his side. "Rest Italy, I can clean up later..." He didn't smell or anything... at least he didn't think he did... the prissy Italian would probably let him know if he did...

About that time, he heard someone come in the door. He pulled his gun out then, listening and holding Feli close so he didn't get scared. He thought it might be Romano, but then a female voice called out, and he recognized it as Belgium... it seemed that Italy's brother hadn't made it, or they hadn't met up yet... this would definitely worry him.

He sighed a but when the girl busted in, she'd been crying, or still was, and Ludwig slid his pistol back into his holster. "Romano isn't here," He looked down to Italy, guessing he'd want to tell her what he knew... if not, the German would clue her in... not that he knew much. She seemed just as worried as Germany had been on his way here... those brothers really could pull some strong emotions out of people... he knew even Austria was fond of Italy, even if he grumped about him all the time.

Translation: Ich werde nicht: I won't
