Whoo, followed you all!
I think the event should be something like allies instead of followers, so you don't have to run around ASKING for people to follow you. You just get some sort of message asking if you want to be allies or something.
('Cause you know, we CAN talk in here. Doesn't have to be just a following thread!)

I like well done romance, where the descriptions are a bit classier and the naughty bits are at least somewhat relevant, but that's a rare creature anymore. The only well-written romance novel I can recommend would be Falling Awake by Jayne Ann Krentz.
I do generally prefer adventure novels, though. I haven't really been reading too much of late, but the last good adventure I started would be Misfortune by Wesley Stace. And writing? I've got a project going on called The Din that I'll be using for NaNoWriMo next month. I'm lazy, so I copypasta'd the description: Annabeth Wilkes is tired of her life. She, her sister and her mother have spent the last nine years mourning the disappearance of her father. Now, though, the time for wearing black has passed and now grand parties occupy the halls of Wilkes Manor. But beneath these rousing sounds lays something much darker, much more sinister, and much more entertaining than lessons on etiquette. I think it turns out funny? Not quite sure on that yet. |

Here's the way I see things: if you can jazz up a cliche enough, it doesn't matter if you just have some sort of save-the-world plot (like I always seem to go for...). And even with that advice, it doesn't sound that cliche to me.
Also, the 60s are awesome. For some reason, feel the need to input that my favorite, however, is the roarin' 20s :3 |
