People really need to stop calling Obama socialist, because he's not socialist whatsoever.
I'm not american so i'm not gonna vote for any of them, but damn it's such a cheap trick to just say "oh god noes a socialist". I'm personally a socialist, but why is that such a frightening thing to some of you? I mean let people have their own political views, and if you're gonna against something atleast know what it is you're against!
He is a socialist. Just like the socialists that have been running France. They finally got smart and realized they couldn't afford socialism and elected a conservative to straighten things out (that would be Sarkozy). Socialism causes people to expect to be taken care of by the government without working hard to make life good for themselves. When people stop being productive the whole economy goes to crap, just like here in Europe. The few people who do work hard have to carry the load for people who won't. We don't want that in America. You can believe what ever you want, and you sure don't have to agree with me, but I should be able to have my opion too. That's called freedom of speech, we have that in America, and we don't want that to go away with the freedom to keep what we earn for working hard instead of having to give it all to the government.

The economy is crap in europe? That's a bit harsh, it depends on which country you're talking about, and europe is not just one big country thank you. Try to turn it around instead of thinking that people spend loads of money to the goverment and that's unfair, and that you could spend those money on yourself instead..there's just one thing. Everyone can loose their money, everyone can get poor, everyone can get sick, that why it's more comfortable knowing that the money you spend paying taxes, makes forexample education and hospitals free, so no matter what situation you end up in you always have something to fall back on.

Now again that depends entirely on the situation. Some people might be using the system in a bad way, but again there's also people who would have a hard time having a decent life without it.
I've got a friend who's handicapped and can't work, you wouldn't call that lazy right? She would have a hard time making enough money for decent care and being able to have her own apartment and have a normal life like the rest of us, if it wasn't for the goverment making sure she has enough money living for. You make those "lazy" people sound like a larger group than they actually are, at least in my country you have to spend a lot of time getting the permission to recieve money, and you're being checked on very often. And again, you could get sick or handicapped any day and where is your security then?

And when have i ever said i don't support the freedom of speech? America is not the only country in the world that's got it...and how did that even fit into this topic? That was really a bit cheap.
All i'm saying is i don't mind people who dont support socialism, but atleast know what it is, and that being a socialist is not same as being a huge threat and a communist and so on. Get a more relaxed point of view on it, it's really not that scary. " We don't want that in America" - you can't speak for a whole country really.
