I actually find the metallic rose DS to be quite nice.

@ Sumada - Yeh I never liked that example with the eskimos/inuits.
But my god, I can never imagine myself participating actively in such a discussion.

I just bought a DS game after so long! And a GBA game. And 2 more for my PSP.
I was tempted to buy even more because there was a promotion going on, but eh I need to save my money.

Also, FINALLY I got past Chapter 14 in Luminous Arc.
Such joyful news. ;__;
And in the first case of Apollo Justice, I totally didn't see that returning character coming.
Never knew the hobo/bum look can be attractive. xDD;;

Double post and ignoring my OOT rant,

There's a My Chinese Coach now?
I'm actually compelled to get that 'game', because it's really useful to know the language here.
The My [Insert Language] Coach series got really positive feedback from actual users, which surprised me.
What I'm afraid regarding the 'Chinese' version is that an American-accented voice would be guiding you throughout.
That won't do because I've heard how the American accent totally obliterated the language and made the meaning completely different.

Like on the talkshow by Tyra Banks, she taught Ne-Yo how to say 'Thank you' in Chinese.
The word would be 'Xie xie', which starts like 'Zhe/She' and rhymes with 'air'.
Tyra said 'Shee-shee' and that made me laugh so bad.
There's an Asian lingo amongst kids more commonly, where 'Shee-shee' means to go pee.

Granted Tyra isn't exactly all that knowledgeable in the language itself, but the least she could do before getting on national television is to get the pronunciation somewhat correct.
My point is that when you're dealing with an audio program that teaches a new language, you'd better damn well have the appropriate voice for it.
Of course I might be speaking too soon and My Chinese Coach is actually hella good with the proper Chinese accent to go along with it. >.>
OR it only teaches you the writings, and not pronunciation. -__-

And I wonder if anyone is going to bother reading this. xD;;

Well i geuss yud have to ask the original eskimos who were of russian decent or current eskimo ppl of mixed descent. Its plausible that now the two have similar thoughts about...snow? It really depends on the time period

Does the sort of language people speak changes the way they think and act?
If language determines thought, how does one think of a language in the first place?

The hypothesis uses the example of an eskimo having multiple words for 'snow' a lot, saying that they 'see' snow differently.
I mean, so?
English speakers have multiple words for 'snow' as well like sleet, blizzard, slush, avalanche, etc. according to the situation.
Then wouldn't eskimos and English speakers still be the same?
What is the hypothesis trying to imply using the eskimo example?

Really. The whole subject sucks, and I have to hand in an information poster on Monday.

Infinite Undiscovery didn't get stellar reviews, but I want so much to like the game.
... Not that I have played it yet, but I do still plan on getting it.
Maybe when I can find it used.

And Ryoha, how was Blue Dragon?
