Atomic bomb in hiroshima and nagasaki Go to post 35 Extended Discussion Sun Oct 05, 2008 10:11 pm
There are several reasons why America nuked Japan, not all of them very good.

One majro point is that they knew it would end the war. The government knew that the japanese would never surrender, that they would sacrifice themselves to protect their nation down to the last woman and children. If the men would perrish, even those women and children would stand up for their homes. The americans, not willing to have to sacrifice not only all these innocent japanese people, but also their own troops, tried what they thought would be the best way to show their might and hope the japanese leaders would see how foolish it was to resist and surrender. Sure, they killed two cities worth of innocents, but you gotta admit the results worked. The japanese surrendered and the war was over.

Secondly, they wanted to intimidate the russians. At this time the russians were quickly gaining power, and now that the war was slowing down, who knew what they and their vicious dictator would be up to. This pretty began what would later be called the Cold War, a war of intimidation and deterrance. What perfect opportunity to exhibit their own strength than the detonation of the strongest and most devastating weapon in all of history?

This is essentially the main reasons why the government decided to use the nuclear bombs on japan. Their main targets, though, were supposed to be "military targets" and had previously promised to never attack civillians. Obviously their plans didn't really work out for the best, but it had it's benefits anyway.

If they print excess cash, it undervalues the currency, and you get major inflation. That's never a good thing.

Alright, so the birth information and comparisions to other figures may not be fully correct, as most seem to have pointed out, but I have to admit; the astrological/astronomical similarities are pretty amazing. The ancient world has always been very keen on observing the night sky and learning about the cosmos, as can be see nfrom the Egyptians, the Inca I believe, and the ancient Celts of Britain, especially those that built Stonehenge; were all very knowledgable of the sun's movement through the sky during the year and the stars that surround it.

The symbolism between all that and such important religious figures just makes sense, considering how important astronomy/astrology was to the ancients.
Not fully correct? It's around 85% wrong. His symbolism is wrong, his information is wrong, his hypothesis is wrong.

I mean, does anyone else find it weird that all these cultures he claims were huge sun worshippers used LUNAR CALENDARS???? Or that in most of the cultures he talks about, what to look for in a head deity is not specifically sun aspects, but sky aspects (which the sun can be absorbed into).

Mythologically speaking, the guy doesn't have a clue as to what he's talking about.

Yes, well, thank you for pointing out what has already been "discussed" ad nauseam, and for missing the what I was actually trying to talk about.

Shame the Age of Aquarius starts in 2150, I'd love to see the new Age. I'll just have to live past 160. >8|
Lifespans will get as long as that by then, right? ....Right?!
