Thanks, guys.
And Sukina- yes. Exactly. Sir Walter Raleigh is one of Englands most famous privateers. He lived during the era of Queen Elizabeth. In addition to stealing and fighting for the crown, he also managed to lose a colony in the "New World"-aka America. Great legacy, huh? He also left behind a wife who went nuts and carried his embalmed head around in red leather bag for the rest of her life. This ladies name? Elizabeth Throckmorton. And yes, this is who I played when I worked for the Ren Faire. xd

"Torran Steele" ahem....bounty hunter = pirate Thats pretty much what pirates did for a side job. They even had a special name for them....Privateers. Oh, yeah, and privateers were pirates that had the backing of the crown- whichever country they were from's crown, that is. |

So, sorry I vanished again. But I have a very serious question to ask everyone here- was anyone contacted by "me"- as in any of my sn's- between last Friday morning and this Wednesday?
I'm asking because I went out of town for the weekend and was robbed. They took my laptop, power cord, and $80 cash. Yes, my new, beautiful CAD beast was stolen. I'm working with the police (who dont think it will be found) and the insurance peeps (who will help pay for a new one). But since alot of my log ins were automatic, this person may have turned on the computer, looking for banking info and ended logged in as me somewhere. So, just wanted to know. |

*passes out on couch* Dear gods.... I moved in to my new place last weekend and started my co-op on monday. My first week went great- I taught myself a new CAD program, in a way that seemed to impress my cube mate and boss-types. (My actual boss works remotely from Penn. so the other peeps in the office have a huge say on my performance review.) I only moved 97 miles south this time, so I'm still in the state of KY.
However, my apartment is only 400 square feet. In other words, my "bedroom" is supposed to be a table nook next to the closet sized kitchen and barely holds a twin bed. And since co-ops move in and out so close together, the landlord no longer has the place professionally cleaned. So I spent today scrubbing the joint from top to bottom. I scrubbed floors that haven't been cleaned in about a year, scrubbed blinds that have probably not seen a cleaning in over 3 years, and swept all the floors. I cleaned the windows, inside and out, in the kitchen/bedroom space. And now I hurt- everywhere. And I still need to go to a laundromat. Ugh. I think I'm going to leave that for tomorrow at this point. Though, for a tiny little joint (with rude neighbors) it has serious upsides. There is so much storage built into the walls I don't need a dresser or anything. There are built in book shelves next to my fireplace (which I have no clue if is functional or not, but that mantel is pretty). And unlike most short term apartments, the walls aren't white- they're pale blue. Which matches my wall blue and brown bedding, couch, etc. xd Talk about luck. |

Ela- Gabe gets cuter with every passing day!
Gwyn- rock on to taking the plunge and chopping it all off! I almost hyperventilated when I had all my hair cut off, but I get so many compliments on it being short, it's still worth it to keep it short after 3 years. Windstorms/hurricanes: Arg! It seems a huge portion of the US is sans power. The state of Kentucky had more then 550,000 households sans power for over 24 hours following the wonders of Ike. (We only got the wind, not the rain.) Ohio also has huge sections sans power, Chicago (Illinois) had huge issues. Thats not to mention Texas, Florida, etc who got hit by the actual hurricane. We at my home were without power for about 32 hours, but a friend of mine was without for 50+ hours and some poeple are still without. Yay for finally having power! |

Rock on to the writing competition. HOWEVER- it is not a guild sponsored deal. Therefore, all agruments/serious discussions/debates etc centered fully on it need to go elsewhere. Don't let this bring in anything not firmly within PG-13 also. (I mainly say this becuase of the erotica category.)

Tap dancing is fun and awesome- never apologize for dancing. xd Tap was alwasy one of my favorite forms of dance- I may have spent half my days with pointe shoes on, but I loved tap. Drove my boss (at the dance studio) crazy.
Naoko-thanks! ^^ Ela- ooh, that sounds fun! Fair trade and organic can be very good things. (so long as you can afford them... >< I hate that they charge so much for organic produce.) |

"Naoko Kensaku" Silver! *Glomps* Welcome back! The puzzle lights sound really cool! Is it the kind of lights you see in clubs and other places where you stand on them and they light up? *Is looking for clarification* Kinda, in that do light up when stood on, but they wouldnt be used in clubs in this case. They are different heights, which makes walking on them drunk a bit difficult. xd But, I uploaded pics, so... CAD render of full set of all 9 puzzle peicesand photo of the model I built of 3 of the pieces. The model has one in each color and one in each height, but a full set would have three in each color- one short, one medium height, and one tall. The height differences are to help kids gage depth and height- both skills important to eventually climbing stairs. And since the point of these is physical therapy for kids with a physical disability, thats a big skill goal for many of them. And thanks for the welcome back. ^^ |

*stalks thread, then pounces on random people* I Live!!
Yeah, so, school this quarter... I think selling my soul would have been less painful and left me with more of a life. Actually, the quarter itself wasn't so bad- it was the 3 weeks of doing homework 15-20 hours a day at the end that bit dust. We had to design task lights. I designed a set of puzzle shaped lights that light up when you stand on them- and yes, I built working models. They hold up to 250 lbs. They would be used for physical therapy with kids. Funfun. They are colorful, and soft, with clear tops that glow. ^^ My poor fanfic got left alone and sadly abandoned for weeks. (I'm writing an Inuyasha fic- SessxKag). There was worry of being tracked down and killed for leaving the poor readers with such an evil cliff hanger for about 5 weeks... I'm sorry I abandoned you peeps for so long! I hope there weren't any issues while I was being eatend alive by LEDs and naugahde for 10 weeks... |

One more day of everything still in my account still being there.
Gwyn, Happy 20th! My 21st is coming up and having to pretend to be an adult stinks, don't it? Ela, sounds like major fun. ^^ A friend of mine found a site with super pretty bamboo top for spinning in the most gorgeous colors for a pretty good deal. Most of its only $2-3 per ounce and they carry undied- we want o buy some and dye it. ^^ Yay for pretty, soft things. (spinning=making fuzzy fiber into thread or yarn) |
