What do you think of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle? Go to post 10 Manga Tue Dec 22, 2009 8:04 am
I think the series is one giant troll, to be honest. Lure you in with a pretty normal premise, with the added bait of crossovers(!!1), their usual formula of slash bait and twu love, threw in some major questions to ponder as you're reading. And then they just winged it. I doubt they knew how things would wrap up when they started, 'cause it's not really normal to twist, untwist, retwist, untwist, retwist and untwist your story to no conclusive end. All the while, fans spend oodles of of money on the manga, and the OADs, and the merch, all in the hopes that all will be revealed!!! And it was. Over and over and over, to the point where I couldn't really give a ******** who's who's babydaddy/face-donor or what law of gravity they defied this week, for trying to keep it all straight. Lame storytelling, CLAMP. Lame.

TRC's one of my favorite series, still. I stuck with it for the lovable characters that hooked me instantly, even though their creators don't seem to love them too much, it'd seem. I guess elements of the second half fleshed the universe out considerably, but the line has to be drawn somewhere, between plot and 4 middle-aged ladies boozin' it up and laughing at their desks.

Boo, spammers in my Ghost Hound thread. :c /mass-reports

I loved Ghost Hound. I got into near the very end of its TV-run, but I devoured it in chunks, and caught up to it quickly, I enjoyed it so much. It kept my interest from the get-go: the supernatural elements of the show, combined with the psychological theory incorporated throughout really made for an interesting viewing experience that isn't typical for most series. It's not a comedy show in the least, but the story and characters (major and minor) are all curious, and kept me wondering about them throughout. Definitely not an anime to multi-task too, as it's pretty sub-heavy, and information heavy. The animation is awesome, being that it's IG, and that was part of why I picked it up initially. They delivered as they typically do.

Uhh, I went on a bit long there. Anywho. Ghost Hound. Rather obscure, rather awesome. One of my favorite series. I recommend it.

Baccano!, babe. Action with a great plot, great characters, smidgeons of comic relief here and there. Magic is involved, even. Go for it.
