Why does losing your virginity have to be special [1st post] Go to post 98 Lifestyle Discussion Fri Dec 04, 2009 7:11 am
Mostly because society allows adults believing in the tooth fairy as a socially acceptable practice.

For The Overmind, you do have a point there, but people don't listen to you if you insult them.

(Heard it All before.)

People also will not listen if they are incapable of thinking.

I can only come to conclude that you've never actually DM'd a game before, really. And what you propose is not multi-genre in the least. o_0 In fact, focusing on genre categories is what will most likely create a shitty story. Genre should not even be on your mind when you think of campaign, outside of the story setting.

I've had DMs like you before. In the end, it becomes more about them than the actual players playing the game. I don't think you understand that in the least. When you run a campaign, it is not about you, or your grand designs as a whole. It mostly comes down to setting a plot and a direction and guiding the players through.

Moreso the fact that you're irritatingly naive... You really don't think anything out. If you don't have a general plan of what you want to accomplish, then you won't accomplish it. You're just giddy and irritating.

It terrifies me that somebody like you is making a tabletop.

If you want to make a "kill team" in general, you do not want to play space marines in the first place. Space marines are far too well-rounded to be effective at that in most cases. In some of the more "flavorful" chapters, maybe your luck would be better.

Honestly, I don't see anything in that squad that is particularly devastating. They could be torn to shreds by a cheap mob of orks without an issue.

Well..when you take into consideration that in Kill-Team that cheap mob or Orkz is actually 3-5 Ork Boys at most AND they have to be activated...

I was simply making the point that the OP's "kill team" is more likely to get killed and waste points than kill anything. I'm certainly not suggesting ork boyz as some kind of strike team if that's what you're saying.
Can DMs have characters? Go to post 16 Table-Top Gaming Thu Dec 03, 2009 4:31 pm
I don't think you should have your own character per se. I do think that good use of NPCs can make the experience more interesting for both the DM and the players.

Besides, I often get the feeling that I have a ton of characters as the GM, so to speak. One may not be a PC, but you can really have a lot of fun with NPCs. And yes, as somebody has mentioned, sometimes I will have the players stumble upon say.. a rogue.. or maybe a wizard.. just because it's needed for party support for awhile.

Yeah, it's pretty popular in my family. Even my Grandpa likes it. o_O My 10 year old Sis does as well. xD; Usually, I can get into games like that, but yeah. Never much for that one. Don't like that Modern Warfare 2 either. >.> That's my Dad's latest obsession. xD

The reason you can't get into it is that it's a terrible game. 3nodding

Anybody who says Sonic Rush is good should just kill themselves right now.
