Actually, I don't think that the Japanese people pronounce "Light" like "Raito" just because they can't pronounce L and they have to end their words with vowels (although that's a reason, too).

I think it's because Tsugumi Ohba decided to make it kind of a pun. You see, "raito" in Japanese actually means lightning. So it's kind of a pun if it's "Light" and then it's "Lightning".

Of course, this is just my opinion.

I prefer Liam XD He's totally hawt. And the Von Helson girls agree with me =D. heart
