Ok so, I was going to submit my avi to the arena. Now it's been a while and I was compelled to put a little story to the avi as if it were a character. Lol yea, I'm that type.
But unfortunately, I'm about 1,500 characters too long in the description box. And well, i spent a good 2 hours thinking this up and I--for my own pride's sake, want to put my story out for SOMEONE to read. Please read it. I know i'm not much of a writer. Lol actually I was never good at writing though I always wanted to. I love reading books and finding authors that can perfectly describe the setting, or a person or anything~ But yea, if it sucks, I'm not surprised. I'm open to any advice to improve though :] s t o r y: Quote:  Blind veteran. Wondering restlessly in the colder parts of the world. He cannot forget those dark memories of the war; the freezing air, the guns shooting like rabid dogs...and the violent screams belted out by innocent people. Always searching through the mountains and hills and valleys; in a place where only autumn and winter cycle between the months. This man searches for Closure. On a day like any other, where he slips in another random town, down another random alley, leaves crunching under his sandals, the man stops. For the first time in a long time, this man could feel something he has not felt since his days in the war. He cannot specify this convicting feeling. "What could it be?" he wonders. Desperately pacing down the streets, holding on to walls and trees and people to guide him, his breath so heavy, it's fragments are visible through the crimson scarf on his face. More and more, practically sprinting, the man feels younger than ever before. It's as if God has given him a blessing!--No, the answer to his questions, "When can I stop searching?" "Why must I put myself through this loneliness?" "Why can I not forgive myself for what I've done?" The adrenaline is enthralling! And then he stops. The man has found what he was looking for. Before his tattered sandals, the man bends down and reaches for whatever may be at the end of his fingertips. A small rabbit. Victim to a merciless attack by drunken sailors who port by the bay every week. Beaten and bruised, the rabbit simply lays in the streets clinging too life. It could have been there all night struggling from that very spot. That is what the man was searching for. His instinctual feeling was death. Just like the battlefield, or what he thought, was a shameless hunting ground. The spray of gunshots in the air and the tears the hit the dirt were the only memories that haunted him every time he closed his eyes.... "This rabbit, this poor thing, spat on by man. Could this be..." The man finally kneeled down, and stroked the helpless creature and stared at it through his lifeless eyes. He scooped up the rabbit, limp but still alive, and walked off, arms wrapped around his Closure. I have a problem of using fragmented sentences. I guess you can say I'm trying to go for a poetic abstract style of writing but I suppose it's really just amateur hour xD |
