TWO Disturbing questions Go to post 64 Writers Sun Aug 16, 2009 10:32 pm
I have nothing of use to say here, just that this thread is interesting, and I'd really like to read whatever you're writing.
Religious Influence on Anime Go to post 42 Anime/Manga/Comics Sun May 17, 2009 6:53 pm
Christianity is one of, if not the most, practiced religions out there, and the concept of God is similar in almost any religion you look at. Whether it's under a different name or form, the concept of God is usually present. I think a lot of times it just gives the story a basis that a lot of people can relate to, or at least know a little about.

The religion you're talking about is Shintoism, I think, which is only practiced by about four million people (not very many, considering the world's population) and is pretty much secluded to Japan. It makes sense that they use a more practiced religion, as more people are likely to understand it thanks to prior knowledge, or at least is more accessible to the general public.

Some of the poses are pretty cool. But most of them are just... meh. It would be cool if they had on in the form of a shadowy demon thing hovering over the avie's shoulder or something.
Omg.GD.Do you think people actually do this? Go to post 28 General Discussion Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:49 am
As sick as it sounds, it wouldn't surprise me at all if someone has actually done it.

I don't really care.
Twilight fans keep to themselves in England, and even less of them watch animu.

Well In Canada and the States(I think I dunno I am Canadian) We have to deal with stupid Fans of that Garbage heck one girl I know said that Twilight is better then Shakespeare. And went on to say that Shakespeare is "nerd stuff" and that she has never and will never read his work. And at that point I almost had a Brain aneurysm from the sheer stupidity. But this is a bad thing. Todays youth has already been corrupted we can not let it continue. make these little idiots read the Original Dracula story instead of that garbage. If I turn on the TV one day and See Twilight Anime I am going to go completely batty.

Seriously. The quality of writing these days is pathetic, and what's more pathetic is that stupid kids go completely gaga over this crap like it's the best thing since oxygen. And I would second reading Dracula, if only their little minds could handle it.

As for the anime, I'll unfortunately hear ALL about it. It wouldn't bother me so much if stupid fangirls could just keep it between themselves and other stupid fangirls, but they have to involve other people in it like it's our birthright to know everything there is to know about the glory and wonder that is Twilight.
What is your favorite music from a DIFFERENT country Go to post 71 Chatterbox Thu Mar 05, 2009 2:27 am
No Finnish music? Not a huge fan, but I've realized that quite a few Finnish bands have been popping up.

As for me, it was kind of a tie between Japan and England. I'm not very exotic. crying
What do you think of escape the fate? Go to post 19 Music Thu Mar 05, 2009 2:15 am
I absolutely loved them when I first heard of them. But lately they're one of those bands that I should be embarrassed to admit I like. If you're looking for some amazing band that has groundbreaking lyrics and a unique sound, they're pretty awful. But if you just want to hear some rock with a good beat, and you're not too picky, it's okay.
Do you like Vampire Knight? Go to post 67 Anime/Manga/Comics Sun Jan 25, 2009 7:55 am
Meh. I was never a big fan of shoujo to begin with, but I used to love this series in the beginning. Lately it's just getting annoying. I still read it because I hate quitting stuff when I start, though.
Really, dubs DO NOT SUCK (necessarily) *highlights* Go to post 143 Anime/Manga/Comics Tue Jan 20, 2009 10:26 pm
I'm partial to subs myself, but I have nothing against dubs. While some of them are downright horrible, a lot of them aren't bad at all.
