Liam wears glasses Go to post 129 Gaia Community Discussion Sat Nov 01, 2008 10:51 pm
I'm sure the glasses are just for small, mechanical work, in the same way people use reading glasses. I understand the multiple people who are constantly saying 'glasses =/= smart, it's still Liam', but we have to remember our character histories.

Liam is a womanizing spaz, yes, but he's highly intelligent in two places. One is in book smarts (the ability to build, repair, and destroy all forms of technology) and the other is in his ability to work people (as shown in the scene where he had all 3 of his girlfriends talking about him in the same restaurant without any having a clue they were all thinking of the same person). In what he does well, he's very smart.

The difference is that now his look has changed to better reflect this.

I know that it may simply be a case of a different artist, but one has to remember that these comics need to be approved (most likely before they are even inked). A design change like this had to have been noticed and agreed to.

On a personal level, I'm looking forward to see more of what is apparently a friendship between him and Sam, now that it has been brought to the surface. It's been my OTP for a while, and it's very nice to see it realized in canon.
Real women have curves? Screw you! Go to post 513 General Discussion Tue May 06, 2008 6:06 am
Yes, this small movement to make heavier women who are constantly ridiculed (by many people, such as those who have shown up in this forum) feel better about themselves as individuals puts down skinnier people.

This is the silliest logic. It's a single ideal put up against an entire society pushing for a skinnier bodily image. And, as you can see, it obviously needs to be added to -considering the massive posting frenzy, on anything with any mention of this topic, where everyone needs to tell exactly 'how fat someone can be before i find them completely repulsive'.

I don't think anyone, besides those who are just looking for something to complain about, sees an effort to make one group recover some self-esteem as an insult to another.

Does anyone even notice anymore that all of these topics focus on heavier women, and heavier men are virtually ignored?

Friends Problem Go to post 1 Questions & Assistance Sat Apr 26, 2008 6:17 am
I'm trying to add my mule as a friend, but every time I click on the 'add to friend/ignored', I'm sent to a page without any names available to choose from.

I instead get the message "Sorry, there are no results for Search: ""."

Ayumi shook her head, "I apologize that I'm not more help. It's not my job to notice the living too much... I suppose that it's becoming a habit. I'll be sure to watch, though."

Ayumi smiled nervously, "I'm afraid I'm just as much a stranger to this place as you are. But following the crowd shouldn't lead us wrong, I think."

Ayumi was still uncomfortable with the whole corset... She wished that they would just have let her keep her own clothing. Maybe, hopefully, she could get them back before she left.

She headed down to the ball, taking time to look around at the festivities. It seemed... wasteful compared to what she had become used to. But such was the way of the rich.

Ayumi tried to place herself nearer to, but not imposing upon, the family she was too be serving. Hopefully she could catch their eye and she could start her work as soon as possible.

Ayumi chuckled to herself. The girl thought that she cared anything about the conversations and flirtations of the living. She probably had absolutely no idea what problems were going on.

But that didn't matter, she was still an immature girl whom Ayumi could get nothing from. It was best to push her thoughts aside and get down to the ball where maybe, finally, she could get her assignment.

Ayumi called for a servant to help her change.

Ayumi shrugged just slightly, "It's true I haven't served royalty in a long while, but still; it is a priestess' job to know those she is going to help. I can't be very effective if I'm too much out of touch."
