The Princess and the Frog Go to post 37 Entertainment Discussion Sun Jun 21, 2009 5:48 am

Isnt it just off that theres an African American "princess" in New Orleans during early 1900 or late 1800 period. Im not against it or nothing.

I don't think she's an actually a princess (Belle isn't really a princess but everyone calls her one, kind of thing).

I can't wait for this movie to come out. I've been waiting for it for about two years, so I'm extremely excited. I'm so tired of the computer animated movies. (I also heard that they will be doing a Goofy short like they used to, for this one.) I haven't been able to sit still since I saw the preview for it a couple days ago.
SPANKING DEBATE Go to post 190 Extended Discussion Sun Jun 21, 2009 5:35 am
Is it weird that I don't believe in sending a kid to a corner but I do believe in spanking them? I grew up this way (I was never spanked though, I was sent to the corner by an aunt before). And sometimes (most of the time) just telling a kid to stop, won't work. Hit them hard enough for them to start crying and they'll stop (that as how it worked with my brother). Also some kids really need it. Where I live (not to get racial) it tends to be white people who won't touch their kids, yet here are their kids running all over them. Yeah, not gonna happen with me, my mother would whop my a**, if I ever tried anything with her. Now I say or do things to get a reaction from her.

Also none of that "You won't get dessert" is gonna do much or "I'll buy you a toy" "I'll buy you a doughnut" "I'll let you stay up later". That's ridiculous. I saw this woman who did it with her daughter once. I laughed. That daughter cried and the mother said "Don't worry honey you'll get it if you behave." You shouldn't have to bribe children to behave. Because they'll always expect things when they behave. They don't understand that it's reward in itself. I grew up with kids who always got what they want because they behaved in front of their parents and other adults. But to other kids that kid was a complete spoiled jerk (not saying that all kids will turn out like this, but many kids especially today, don't seem to have much respect). They'll behave to get whatever they want, and when they're old enough, you won't be getting much respect from them in the future (I've seen this before too).

There's not really a right to raise your kids. Because it isn't just the spankings, but the morals and values parents give to their children.
Glee!!!! New awesome TV show Go to post 14 Entertainment Discussion Fri May 22, 2009 1:59 am
I saw it. I liked it but I couldn't get past how annoying that girl was (I wished I could have slapped her at times). So I'm not sure if I'll be watching it this fall.
WTF!KRIS WON AMERICAN IDOL Dx Go to post 32 Entertainment Discussion Fri May 22, 2009 12:57 am
Adam's a great singer when he's not showing off his "range." It seemed that he over did it all the time (well most of the time). It actually became predictable, a high long note in most of his songs. Yup. That kind of got annoying. I started turning off the TV whenever he started singing. Also, he quickly became over rated. I mean come on there was no need for the judges to kiss his a** every time he was on stage. I think maybe because of that people who were on the fence decided not to vote for Adam.

Also Adam didn't lose because he might be gay. Those rumors have been going on for weeks, if people weren't voting for him because they thought he was gay, wouldn't he have been voted off weeks ago. That doesn't make sense, I don't think his sexuality had anything to do with it.

And I hate when people compare the outcome to this to Clay and Ruben, saying that Adam will do better, just as Clay had. I don't understand, I only heard Clay's first single, then I heard he came out the closet, then I heard he gave away his sperm. If that was all it took to be famous, I'm sure Ruben could do it too.
What's your take on Wicked? Go to post 18 Books Sat May 02, 2009 1:29 am
Wicked was...strange. I remember wondering what I had gotten myself into when I had picked up the book. I had fallen in love with the musical, I'm not going to say I didn't like the novel, just not as much.

Gai Ketoji
I haven't read the book but I did enjoy the musical. Are there any major differences between the two?

Yeah, actually they don't really have much in common.
Junai Tokko Taicho!(Love Attack) Go to post 13 Manga Wed Apr 22, 2009 6:42 am
I recently read the first volume. I have to say I liked it, it was weird (I guess), but it a good way.
Correct Pronounciations for "Anime" and "Manga" Go to post 18 Anime/Manga/Comics Wed Apr 22, 2009 6:19 am
I pronounce Manga the first way. I really think I sound funny trying to pronounce it the other way (for some reason I pronounce it with a Spanish accent), so I don't try.
Would you date a big(fat) guy Go to post 68 Chatterbox Wed Apr 22, 2009 4:44 am
I wouldn't date a big fat guy. Why? Because I'm 4'10" and about average weight (maybe...? I haven't weighed myself in a while... anyways). One because it would look weird, and I have this thing in my mind about people who look good together. Two because big people scare me in a way. I can be friends with a big person, but I wouldn't date them.
Why are most 80% of girls like this?? Go to post 168 Chatterbox Wed Apr 22, 2009 4:14 am

Ya that is so true. My mom was considered "hot" but now she is overweight and everything so the only beauty that lasts is inside. Outside is just temporary.

Being overweight doesn't make a person ugly. My mother is also overweight but she still looks good. No one would ever guess that she has a nineteen year old. She looks like she's 25 or something (people think we're sisters). Sure she was never really hot to begin with, but she still looks good.

No I am just saying that you won't always look like that and you should be looking for that "hot" factor on the inside not the outside.

That's true, but some people actually do keep their looks until they get really, really old. I know a woman who's in her fifties, and she's doesn't have one wrinkle on her face. It's called aging gracefully. So saying that "hotness" or a persons looks don't last, it's actually a lie. It's to make people feel better.

Ya but what about when they are 80 years old will they be hot?

Maybe not hot (that's a word that actually changes meaning, so no by today's standards an 80 year old would not be hot, however,) they could still look good.
