Don't listen to him ^
I say, just pretend to act like you're confident. Eventually, you'll end up being naturally confident without having to fake it. That's how I'm currently dealing with it. It's slowly working for me, but I love the idea for acting, so I pretend I have my own script and I'm manipulating the play as the other people besides me are my pawns. Hopefully that made sense? n.n; |

Quote: Database Error The base model for your avatar does not exist. please reconfigure your avatar I am unable to equip anything, nor am I able to preview anything. When I go to "My Gaia's" inventory to equip items, I cannot equip. Also when I preview something in a shop, it just floats! My avatar wouldn't show up in the preview thing. Do I have to delete my avatar? I haven't changed it, in almost a year... if I delete would my items still stay? This has been happening for quite some time now on every browser I use, and I did clear my cookies and the such. Help is appreciated. sweatdrop |

BAWH! gonk For me it's during school... I really hate missing class just because my cramps are so horribly bad to the point I can't handle doing anything.
I haven't used Tampons yet, I'm playing safe and sticking with what's most comfortable to me. Even though I miss out because I'm bleeding. emo |

Sleep Isabella Ah, ok. At first it just sounded more like you'd only be interested in making profiles is if you thought you could get the spotlight. But I get it now. 3nodding Lulz, I didn't mean to word it like that. sweatdrop But I see why you got that impression. I should add a little note in there... o-o;; Quote: Well, the avatar arena gives out 50k. So, if the fee for entering the profile arena was 10k, then I think 70k, with it comes a gold shop item that has a sellback of at least around 10k should be given out. I'd like it to be monthly instead of weekly though. I want the profile arena to be very demanding in terms of rules, and in terms of expectations for the winners. The avatar arena is not so demanding in both respects. I want the profile to be very strict so that only the very best can win. Oh! I always thought the prize for the Avatar Arena was always 10k. Maybe it was at some point? Didn't know it was so much. 70k and the gold shop sellback sounds like a good idea too. I agree about them being very demanding. It takes hard work to make one, they should also make a guide about color schemes too as some of the profiles I've seen before are soo blinding you can't even read 'em! But yea, a kind of "guide" to sort of work your profile around would be good, but to be sure to add a touch of your own personality. Err, as I'm saying it should be strict and not just any profile could be added. If you get what I mean. Like, someone who just slaps something together with just a background isn't worth anything to me, unless, it surprisingly looks well. o.O;;; |

[quote="Faded Hues of Blues]Not to be rude, but the only way to get yourself motivated enough to create your own profile is if you felt like there could be a chance for you to be picked as a Featured Profile on the Community Page?
Indeed, but the reason I said that was because the current one has been there for like what? Almost a year? If not more? If I remember correctly. Thus, even if I thought I stood a chance for it, what's the point if they haven't changed it for a year, and maybe even delay the change longer? They may even come to a point where they won't change it at all. I could bring up the motivation just to make my profile look pretty, but if they won't change the Feature Profile, why even keep that feature? If it's just going to be static for ages like that might as well get rid of it altogether... Quote: Anyways...moderators don't work at Gaia HQ, and they aren't the ones who choose the profiles. Usually a staff member from Gaia HQ would PM a user they spotted and liked their profile to ask if they'd like to be on the Featured Profile spotlight on the community page Meh, I didn't know who changed were labeled as Moderators or not, or if the staff highered a volunteer for it. Wasn't sure. Thanks for the correction. Quote: I do agree that they need to choose someone else now. It would be nice if they kept to a monthly thing. The Arena idea sounds like a lot of fun. And not have it preapproved either. Rules mst be "You must have a watermark or something that indicates that the profile was made by the owner of the account, and it cannot be a premade". An entire moderator team that is stationed only for the profile arena so they won't be swamped by forum and PM reports, so they can have an easier time being able to goof off in the forums. I'd also like the entry fee to be something like 10k or something, and there would be no refunds so people can be completely serious about entering the arena. Yea, I agree and the winners could be treated like the Avatar arena. Except the prize is worth more like instead of 10k in gold or whatever it is now should be something like 50k in gold, or even a random Cash Shop prize would do. The only thing I don't like about the Arena idea is that people could get away with winning more than once with the same profile layout, which is pretty boring, but as you said the Mods just for the Arena could moderate and delete the duplicates. I'm sure the Profile Arena wouldn't be as large as the Avatar Arena, so it should be easier to manage. Another idea, if they must have the Featured Profile in the Community Spotlight they could create a script that randomly changes on its own, and somehow program it to where it won't be repetitive, or have someone keep moderating it and change it if the script picks the same one twice. rofl Thank You for, reading. =D |

I'm getting really annoyed by this, it even turned me away from the Profile Discussion, and even Gaia Online itself! I'm sure there's newer profiles that's been made now to make a decision to change the Featured Profile, so why ignore it? It's not that inactive is it?
No offense to the currently featured, you deserved the spot! Sadly, I think it's unfair that there's been people featured for such a shorter amount of time. I feel like the Featured Profile is ignored by the Gaia Staff. I really liked the idea to be motivated by making a Profile and hoping to get the spot light, but I feel like my efforts are pointless now that they don't change it. So what the hell? I'm sorry if this been suggested before, and others probably ranted about it before me, but this is a long awaited rant for me. I tried my best to be patient really... It used to be what kept me active on Gaia Online, but now I don't even bother making profiles anymore instead I just use a premade. I still intend to change it eventually when I feel more motivation, which I'm having a hard time finding nowadays... [edit] - To make things clear, I'm meaning if the Featured Profile is not to change there's no point to find motivation for the Featured Profile in the Community Spotlight, so technically that "spotlight" shouldn't exist, if it's static and not changing. I hope that makes sense. ;_; Anyways, my suggestion is that if the Gaia Staff is too lazy to change it than let the users change it. I'm not fond of the arena idea, but why not? Screen Shot a current profile and get it featured in an arena weekly contest. Or program something that takes a snapshot of your current profile to be submitted, and disable customizing features to make it fair while they're in the contest. Except for the basic about section of course. Ooh, and not let them submit more than one time in a row. If that made any sense? If that's not good enough higher some NEW active moderators to help change the featured profile monthly, or every three weeks. These moderators could be labeled as "Profile Moderators," or something along those lines. If you have better ideas suggest them please. I'm just throwing out whatever is at the top of my head at the moment, and it just went empty... Sorry for my rant, but it's been really bothersome! Thanks for your understanding. heart Please Gaia Staff, I beg that you don't ignore the Featured Profile, it's a feature that showcases our personality! It's pretty boring when it doesn't change. Say, I bet this rant is pointless and it's a messed up glitch on my account? If that's the case then... OMG WHY IS IT JUST ME?! gonk Ew, I even forgot to create a poll... <_<; |

Mythril Dragonfly I associate Drinky with bad. Poor color choices and way too strong highlights and shadows. She also does the mythology theme too much. Sure, she gives us lots of skins, and a lot of cool stuff... but what good does it do if it hardly matches anything and looks so drastic from other items? I don't see why sticking to a certain theme is a bad thing, if she likes working with it and enjoy it than why not? It's no fun to work with something you do not enjoy. |

Personally, I like the idea of someone recognizing my art by a certain style I use, but I don't see why I should have to be limited to keep up with that certain style. I mean, who cares what others think? It's your artwork, you should be able to expand it, and do all kinds of things with it as it is art is about expressing oneself isn't it? Why keep it limited? Even though keeping it limited is a challenge to one's own creativity, but if you don't have to there's no point to do so.
