Cinderellas Curse Rong Zhao Kong see i have to default to Tommy Lee Jones just because he actually was Two Face. To say that Aaron Eckhart was Two Face is a joke. Aaron Eckhart was Harvey Dent and not Two Face. They did Two Face horribly wrong in the new movie. Great with Havey Dent, but they failed with Two Face. I like the fact that Aaron stuck to the comics and Two- Face looks like he's injured unlike Tommy Lee Jones. Seriously, he looks like they just poured kool-aid on him and sent him stage. Arron did a much better job as displaying the take over a multiple personality disorder. It not rushed unless the mind feels it has to be rushed. It's interesting that Two-Face's personality appears after Rachel Dawes' name appears on the Schzio's name plate. It show progression, like Two_face has been waiting to coming out. The death of Rachel, his burned face, and knowing he lied to Rachel would have literally killed Harvey. Death by guilt, the creation of Two Face was more presauded to come out but he would have appeared anyways because Harvey's mind would make sure it survived one way or the other. Eckhart was better Two-Face. His personality and acting skill was far better. Actually in The Dark Knight they trailed away from the Comic books and re-wrote nearly everything to make Two-Face. Aside from the Skill and Talent that Aaron Eckhart clearly has what I'm talking about and what Rong is overtly saying is that the new movie doesn't have that character integrity from the source material. Tommy Lee Jones' Two Face may have looked silly, but thats actually was a more correct depiction of the comic book character. Tommy Lee Jones is a great actor and holds more acclaims and star power than Aaron Eckhart, but Tommy has a horrible script and bad Director. Psychologically speaking the movie only shows one instant when Harvey Dent peaked into his metal instability when he was interrogating Scarecrow. After that his M.P.D kicks in almost instantaneously when Joker talks to him and about his chaos theory. Basically the Two-Face portion of Harvey Dents life was rushed and he didn't fulfill the entirety of his role in the Batman universe. Everything prior to the end of the movie was great, but when the end happened with Two Face I felt robbed of the character. Which is funny cause everything else in the movie was amazingly spot on perfect, so I guess that was the one downside for me in the writing. As for Aaron Eckhart and "His personality and acting skill was far better" than Tommy Lee Jones... you have no idea what the hell you're talking about seriously that is the biggest load of crap i ever heard... Look at Tommy Lee Jones career before you go running your mouth so loudly. Tommy has a Screen Actors Guild Award, Spirit Award, a 3 time Golden Globe nominee, a Golden Globe Winner, 2 time Emmy Award nominee, an Emmy Award winner, a 2 time Academy Award nominee and an Academy Award winner. Tommy Lee has proven himself as an outstanding Actor and not to sound redundant, but even the best of actors can't tackle a Bad Script and Bad Director and make it something amazing. If Aaron Eckhart was in Batman Forever as Two-Face the outcome would've be similar. |

The Fallen 19 You should have posted spoilers, becuase you give alot of them and some people haven't seen the movie. (who hasn't seen The Dark Knight by now?) There really isn't any big spoilers just 1 minor spoiler and hints to the dark knight. If you haven't seen The Dark Knight by now I don't have any sympathy if you can't handle people talking about it. SirRadChip I think TMJ could of done a better job it was just he was stuck with a very poor script. I thought AE did a great job. I still prefer the Animated series version to both though. Same ways here man, the 90s animated Two-Face is the single greatest written Two-Face, the same goes for Bane and that epic battle on the Tanker. |

![]() Tommy Lee Jones: Basically he played Two Face fairly well, but seems a bit too playful at times instead of being more like the serious crime boss seen in the comics and animated series. This could be because he was with the worst, most disgraceful Riddler being portrayed by Jim Carrey... but that's an entirely different discussion. They set up Two Face for Tommy role as Gotham's D.A. which was disfigured by Maroni when he threw acid at Dent's face. There have been many revisions as to how Dent becomes Two-Face in the comics and animated series, but the original Two-Face had acid thrown at his face from Maroni. From there Tommy does a good job in displaying how Harvey suffers from multiple personality disorder and only finds some sort of stability in his obsessive behavior to duality which is manifested in his coin toss. Tommy could have played this role much better if the entire movie was revised and had him as the only antagonist in the movie, but thats purely speculation. Aaron Eckhart: They way the character was written they focused more on how Harvey Dent was Batman's ally as the D.A. of Gotham City. I enjoyed how they worked Harvey Dent's character Pre-Two-Face, but didn't find the script satisfactory for when he became Two-Face. Aaron Eckhart played Two-Face amazingly, but it was short lived and I felt they could have properly worked his later life as an insane crime boss in another sequel. It was also interest how they revised how Dent becomes Two Face; being disfigured because of Jokers schemes, but they kept his vendetta towards Batman only they changed the main reason from his disfiguration to the lost of his love. By mentioning his vendetta I'm mainly referring to the animated series where Batman fails to save Harvey Dent from going into an explosion and becomes Two-Face which blames Batman. There was so much good material and new material in the Dark Knight for Two-Face that it felt like they pulled the cord way too soon and left me feeling empty towards Two-Face. |

Niki cat demon Wow, thanks DGK, it almost seems like you came prepared for this... Although, I have read/heard in many places that Heath went back to teh real Joker roots from the early comic books. Just saying. I wrote a similar opinion on a youtube video and just re-wrote it here with the an added visual aid. Archangel Maiku Yeah, and the Glasgow Smile that he has in the movie has it roots in the early comic as well. The Early Joker was based on Conrad Veidt's depiction of Gwynplaine in the 1928 silent film The Man Who Laughs which was the film adaption of Victor Hugo's book of the same name. In the book the character Gwynplaine, as a child, had a his face carved up into a Glasgow Smile. no, see that joker doesn't fit the character's entirety portrayed by Heath. i can see where there took from the early 40s joker for how he would look visually. however the personality that Heath played fits the revised early 70s joker. He wasn't just some carved up carnival freak with make-up. He was insane, murderous, and deeply enjoyed battling (specifically Batman) with intellectual humour. |

![]() • Two Different scripts • Two Different directions • Two Different, but amazing performances. Jacks Joker was more authentic to the comic character being energetic, insane, witty, scary and all these traits were wrapped under his conveyed odd-ball humor. Jack got the character and did the laughter very well. Growing up reading about him in comics and watching Joker in the early 90s animated series. There really was a seemless transition from Jack's Joker to that of the cartoons and comics. Heaths Joker was all about being realistic & not over the top with all of the character traits. I'm guess by what they wanted Joker to be was if this character was in out world and not just some live action of the comic character, how would he look and how would he behave. Heath toned it down, but gave this amazingly insane, dark & intellectual interpretation of the Joker. Watching Jack's Joker from the 1989 Batman movie it was like watching that comic book character in live action with the acid flower on his suit, that giant pistol he used to gun down batman or his poisonous gas parade. Looking at what they did and how Heath acted the joker for the new generation is a character that can possibly exist in our world it wasn't so outrageous, but very powerful. I felt that Heath's joker can be lurking our street corners. Jack's Joker was a perfect comic book translation and Heath's Joker is a perfect realistic translation of the character. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I Guess Later I'll post a 2Face vs 2Face comment. |
