I saw the OAVs years and years ago.. I really liked the second set of OAVs, they were so well cone. ^__^ The manga, though, was only so-so, I think. And the tv anime series, also.

A series that seems similar to me recently is Jigoku Shoujo (anime). I recommend giving it a try if you liked Miyu.

Actually, Ai Yori Aoshi is a boy's comic/anime. It's aimed at men, not at women. ^^;

But I think that it's normal for manga to cross over male/female boundaries. Nana, one of the most popular manga/anime/movie series right now, is published in a magaine that runs only comics aimed at women, yet the mangaka has written several times about how she gets a lot of letters from male fans also. ^^

For anime, I'm going to say Prince of Tennis. Not strictly shonen-ai, but it's definitely all over. That show is so gay! XDXD blaugh
Manga: Mmmm.. Let's say.. I don't know, there are so many! I'll go with doujinshi too. ^^ heart

Is anyone else on here a fan of Kevin Smith? Next to Ryoma, he's by far my favorite character in the series!!

Ah, I LOVED this anime!!! I think a lot of people don't know about it because it was introduced in America when anime was still a fairly small fanbase.

I personally LOVE the dub for this series!! I preferred the dub to the sub, especially when they recorded the songs. What I would give for an English-language soundtrack!! (not the english-released one that had the japanese songs on it)

I actually adore Miaka. heart While it's true that she spent a lot of time wanting Tamahome to protect her, I think that her function within the story was to show how a person can grow out of all of that. From the beginning, she would show a glimmer of her potential, in scenes like where she pummeled the thieves with the wrestling move.

Yes, Miaka eats a lot and seems rather ditzy. But strength is shown in a lot more ways than just pummeling someone. Miaka has a lot of charisma, in that she draws in the people around her and makes them care about her. She's also straightforward and honest about how she feels. She's ernest, and willing to do anything for something that she believes in. At one point, she even considered giving up the person that she loved most for her best friend. She's very loyal, and tough. She led a sheltered life in Japan, yes, but even for that, she adapts to her new surroundings and takes on everything, giving it her all. In the end, it's her strength and willingness to sacrifice everything dear to her that is the most important. Because of her strength of heart, and courage (imagine how scary it would have been for you in the same situation, realistically, facing a dragon that you have basically no clue about, and you don't really know what you're doing, except that you have to have faith in your supposed abilities.. could you do it?), she's able to save everyone. And yet.. she lost so much for it.

I really think that she's an admirable character. ^^

Sorry for the small tiny Hyoutei pic! They Hyoutei musical isn't until this August, so there are no cast pictures yet other than tiny ones on the site and in magazines and stuff! ^^;;

Nobody likes Tenimyu here.... crying I know you fans are out there!!

BTW... some of the actors from Tenimyu will be playing characters in the new Bleach musical this August!! Also, Kimeru (original Fuji) was the singer for quite a few songs in the anime, including You Got Game? and Make You Free. (I highly recommend checking him out in concert!!)
