I hate it when people try ta compare art with entertainment. Go to post 31 Art Discussion Thu Jan 17, 2008 12:35 am
Depends on if you're classifying "art" as fine art or not.

Anime and manga employ artists for the sake of entertainment. They create art for entertainment, not for the sake of art itself. Thus some would theorize that the entertainment art is not art. Then again, there are some pieces of entertainment that are so good, they are considered a work of art. Hmm hmm. Lots of term-throwing, gray-areas paired with fuzzy-lines, and personal opinion tossed about with that word "art". I wouldn't bother yourself thinking about it too much. If you enjoy something, enjoy it and don't worry about whether it's "art" or not!

people spend $15 to play WoW for 2 hours a day?

It is true. Some of us like to spend the other 14 waking hours of our day doing things that are not Wow.

you can't even do 1 instance a day at that rate.. anyone who plays 2 hours a day is honestly wasting their money.

Funny, I never had any trouble finishing any instance -save some of the longer Azeroth instances- even heroic ones in under 2 hours. Of course, saying "2 hours" is a sort of average. On raid night, I do stay on for 2-4 hours, and some days I do not log on at all! (fancy that!) People who play more then 2 hours a day consistently may not be wasting their money, but some would argue that they are wasting their lives >.>; Some would also argue that they are not wasting their lives, as they have none.

lolololol what you just said is power leveling? 60-70 ~ 20 days = Power leveling if you play 1-2 hours a day, if you follow your whole time guide you're gonna be doing nothing but quests the WHOLE TIME

I never used the term power leveling. I said when I level a character. I never power level, nor do I have any desire to. I have a real job, I don't need my game to fall into that same category. I don't use guides, rather, try and visit zones I have not leveled in before so I can theoretically enjoy new content. All the quests are largely the same though, no matter what the zone, but eh, I like to fool myself into thinking I'm doing something "new".
Who is gona play Warhammer Online When its out Go to post 7 Gaming Discussion Wed Jan 16, 2008 10:46 pm
I will admit that after playing WoW for a couple of years, I find myself a little burnt out on the game, but still missing the MMO aspect of gaming now that I've quit. The problem I'm facing is that the other MMO I've tried just have not been as good as WoW, in terms of solo/group/quest/instance/raid/pvp content COLLECTIVELY. I have high hopes for War, as there seems to be a lot of ways that one can play the game if all the hype holds true.

Well, in truth, going from 1-70 in two weeks means that you're investing a SUBSTANTIAL amount of time daily into the game. For people who only wish to play for 1-2 hours every day, the character grind is a little bit slower. (but still MUCH easier then other MMO) My leveling pattern - if I play 2 hours a day and spend my time JUST on the character in question, doing quests and sometimes partying/instancing - usually goes something like this:

1-10 ~ 1 day
10-20 ~ 2.5 days
20-30 ~ 5 days
30-40 ~ 8 days
40-50 ~ 12 days
50-60 ~ 17 days
60-70 ~ 20 days

Add it all together and you've got a little over 2 laid-back months getting a character 1-70. It's still quite an investment in time! Then you get to experience the joy of the 70 gear grind >.>; After visiting every dungeon more times then you'd care to think about, congrats, you can raid! heart

I know people can power to 70 in under 2 weeks (or even one week according to some power-guides) if they set their mind to it, but rushing through all the levels and zones doesn't leave a lot of time to explore or socialize, both in game or out.

Okay, I just realized that each item allows me to select ALL items from that set, but only one. Now I feel silly. Apologies.

I've read through several pages of this FAQ (admittedly not all 562) and did a search for my question, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Here it is in a nutshell.

When we open our letters - after the 15th - we are given a choice of two items. In this case, the masterpiece/assassin.

The item I wanted was in the assassin's set. Is what you receive luck-based? I got the cape twice and feel like I clicked incorrectly, as I was really hoping for the body piece, assassin's protection. (I have no interest in the cape, but meh, since I've paid for two of them, I'm wearing it now to display how n00bish I am.
