matty is home now...she is all bruised on her neck and she's fighting down food (i would be too with a bruise that big)

but she is FINE no 'mystery illness' that they claim was the cause of her sudden decline. I have lived with and cared for birds over 14 years it's my job to pick up the slight hints of anything amiss because the hide it but the vet completely dismissed my knowlage

they managed to use up every cent of that deposit and then some. 24$ in 'special diet' and oral meds AND medicated IV fluids both of which where doubley charged. wtf!?

and they want us to bring her back in a week for aditional testing!? ie more blood work a ct scan AND xrays?! I told them no. but I wanted to say "GO s**t IN YOUR HAT YOU FUGGERS YOU'LL NEVER HURT MY BIRD AGAIN"

but I had to contain myself because my mom was crying and I had to keep myself together for her...

either way we presented the case to a few lawyers and are waiting to hear back and matty is home and she's all happy and chirping at me and makking the kissy noise and cuddling my face and just being her old self

I also want to know why, if she has some mystery illness, the blood work showed she did not have an elevated white count? hmmm...very interesting yes?

and the vet sent THREE techs to talk to us before we finally got her to see us, she was doing anything to not see us

unfortunately we didn't have a choice but to sign off and give them permission to do whatever they would. so yeah, i guess it was one of the things in the list of 'might dos'

Dx so not much i can do about that bit there

BUT they still said they would call us before they did anything and to let us know what was going on.

they lied, obviously.

Yeah my dad called and raised hell

But still they where less then helpful and after 8am tomorrow the bill jumps another 300$
I had heard they gave her fluids and i fliped out my mom went through the roof because they are supposed to tell us before they do anything

They said her bloodwork showed her to be ever so slightly anemic but thay does not explain the state she is in now

The 650 was for things they MIGHT do but we HAD to pay it as a deposit for them to look at her now

The way the a tex thouh and tried t ignore s i thnk they KNOW they did smethig wrong but won admit it

Yeah i know thats why im not too excited ive owned birds for a long time and i know how good they are at hiding things and usually by the time you notice something is wrong its too late

But i hope its good for her i want nothing but to have her come home ok

I also know that the best to do is tje heat and air so why they would charge for all that extra crap without even doing it or needing to baffles me

I mean i can handle her being bald ive made little birdie shirts for my macaw when he was litle to keep him warm all we went in for was to see if that was indeed the cause

B&F was my original fear but that affects the beak as well and is contagious to other birds so we ruled that out but she did end up bruiseing herself with the plucking so there was that but she was not sick when she went in

trust me i will never let them see a pet of mine ever again
They sid it would take 15 minutes and whatever they did to her was awful
I had never heard of cones on birds either i mean the old vet put a backwards one on tink years ago because he has a broken toe but he could still eat and get up on things

I just got an update saying she got up and ate a little bit but not much change otherwise

Except for the bill were at a total of 850$

Thats more then our house payment Dx
And the worst thing is the charge is for things they havent done
The only thing theyre doing is giving her oxygen in an incubater

Yet the charged for scans and all sorts of tests but they have to tell us when they do anything and thy havent

But we may sue them yet anyway

sounds similar but i think her specific problem was nesting frustration
That i can correct but shock and whatever else they did to her i dont know

I wonder if they drew too much blood for the test

i own a quaker but the bird in question at the vet is a conure shes a jenday but i think she had mixed parents as she is more like a sun so i call her a sunday lol

i have plenty of faith in her its the vets that did this so her i worry about Dx

I have heard of feathers tails and scales but from what i understand a regular office visit is already out of our budget and we havent any funds left after what falls charged us today
