The-Interweb-and-You .Thatched.
Goverment standard for all classified files is 7 passes with a shredder.
I personally use 99 because I'm paranoid and that is as far as my shredder will go.
=3
Even after file shredding there is always the possibility that someone could recover some data.
Read the l337 HaXoR handbook for more.
(Honestly, you are NOT a hacker just because you own a copy.
Of all the things it teaches noobs, it fails epicly at telling them how not to get caught.)
If they found out a random number algorithm used by the shredder I'm sure they could make a reverse algorithm. That is why you burn your shredder program! MUH-HA-HA.
I'm not answering how trying to make a reverse algorithm is useless with this shredder.

If your camera has an sd card, which most do, just take it out and pop it into a reader.
(You'll probably have a slot for sd chips on the front of your printer.)
(The following is only if your printer is attached to your comp.)
If you need one take your card to BestBuy, tell them you want a usb sd reader that'll work with that card.
Plug it in, print.

Kabersirk before you do this just try pressing the windows key+r and typing in explorer.exe
"If I run a new instance of it,..."
Obviously she already knows how to re-open it.

Nowhere legal on the first.
Alternatives to PS are the GIMP,
which is free.
(And to some degree can animate.
You'll need the GAP (gimp animation package...) for that.
Which is also free.)

An OS re-install will fix your problem,
but as that is always a last resort...
You can still use ctrl alt delete right?
I can only suggest this:
Get yourself a new shell,
(Shell = user environment
Ex: your desktop and taskbar)
it'll take a bit of getting used to,
but it's better than having to re-install.
My personal favorite,
and what I run:
http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/
You'll have to start it manualy the first time,
(in your case, I'd assume taskmanager>>
file >> new task >> run the app. )
After it loads, right click your desktop,
go to blackbox >> install >> install.
That'll keep it as the default shell.
Alternatively, screencap your taskmanger's
process list. That'll allow me see if something
like Ice or another malicious app is killing
explorer.

Will it stay alive while it's in safe mode?
Also check this:
Pull up your display properties,
go to the screen saver tab and then click "power".
If any thing looks out of place there, fix it;
or print screen it and post it here if your not sure.
(Power Failures: .. Sorry, I can't remember what I was thinking with that... =3)

wget is a tool used to fetch items from the internet.
Running that as a command will download those files.
Then add them to the designated area's.
=3
Edit: here's it's page:
http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/
Odds are your distro came with it,
but if not, here you are. =3
