Yes, but only those who read and understood. Or else Meyer wouldn't have an army of twitards are her disposal.

Anyone got a good conversation starter? I can't seem to come up with any.

I got one: What Twilight characters did you actually like and please explain why you like them.

It's the last resort to keep the fad going. And it isn't a manga; it's a graphic novel. Nothing to get your knickers in a bunch about.

And the fad will quickly die down after a like the first two or so novels are published. It happens with almost anything that is turned into a graphic novel.
Even an anime I watch, Code Geass, it was turned into a (horrible) manga but it still flew off the shelves with it's first two novels. The third just came out and it's not selling as hot.

And the graphic novel isn't even out yet, but the fans are complaining about the artwork and that Bella is too pretty in the graphic novel. Methinks the graphic novel isn't going to last.

Exactly. Besides, I was talking to Mark (my official GN supplier cool ), and we basically asked one another the same question: what the hell would they have to write about? Neither of the main characters really does anything except for stare longingly at one another and make professions of their undying love. Yes, Edward saves Bella from her own stupidity, but there's only so many times you can do that before it gets boring. Then again, Meyer managed to write over two thousand pages of fail basically talking about how "hawt" Edward is, but with that actually being show pictorially, what's left?

haha yeah, and from what I've seen of mangas/graphic novels like that, they don't make the best sellers list at all.
Yen press is apparently the one publishing it, and it looks like they want to put it in their monthly magazine. Most of the manga/graphic novel they have in there are over 40 pages long for each chapter.
So what are we going to here? 40 pages of them staring at each other and Bella saying "Omg Edward you're so sexy"?

The whole graphic novel is going to be filled with people just standing around and talking and nothing happens up until the second volume probably. So it's going to be a waste of money to buy it.

Anyone got a convo starter?

Sure! WHY IS TWILIGHT GETTING IT'S OWN MANGA/GRAPHIC NOVEL?!?!?!? IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT IT TRIED TO TAKE THE PLACE OF HARRY POTTER, BUT NOW IT'S GOING TO RUIN MANGA TOO!

i have a convo starter, on what page did you know twilight was gonna suck?
for me it was the gaia ad of bella and edward

and side note/ im listening to smooth jazz, its not bad, why has everyone decided its evil?

I didn't know until I tried reading it a second time. Sad, I know, but I don't analyze books until I can put it down and think a little.

And it just is.

but smooth jazz is soothing

I don't remember the page, for me, that part that I realized that this book series was going to suck was when Edward revealed himself in the sun and sparkled. Vampires should burn in the light, not sparkle!

There is nothing wrong with any kind of jazz. I play some jazz music.

No, the page for me has to be when Bella was gushing over the Cullens. Seriously, I was on the verge of throwing up at that scene.

And if y'all want to talk about jazz, please go to the original thread. ^^;

Wait? So Meyer's considered a female force now? I honestly don't know what to say about that except for that it's very very sad. How can she be considered a female force when basically all her books state that a woman's place is at home to raise the kids and put dinner on the table by five o'clock? Or is this Meyer's version of what a female force is and the rest of us are just being absurd? Because honestly, and I've said it numerous times before, Meyer is setting a whole lot of girls and young women up for failure with her backward beliefs. If a woman wants to stay home and raise the sprog and put dinner on the table by five, then good for her! But Meyer needs to realize that there are plenty of other, more acceptable options out there. Then again, this is coming from the girl who wants to be the first person...not woman, but person....to step foot on Mars, so according to her logic my priorities are already out of whack because I'm nineteen and have don't have a husband or a baby.

Basically, Meyer's ideals of what a woman should be is backwards. She honestly think that she's a feminist because she wrote two 'strong' female characters but in reality, Meyer only considers them strong because they're vampires. And Meyer's other backwards beliefs are sickening as well. Especially when she's anti human and she's completely oblivous of what ordinary humans are able to do amazing things without powers and supernatural strength.

Edward may be stronger, but can't Alice predict the future? Maybe she'd be able to just predict all of Edward's attacks and dodge them.
But we all know the Cullens don't fight. The fight would be solved diplomatically.

Like Moka says, Jasper doesn't let Alice fight. Wait-a-minute...And Meyer considers Alice strong even though she can't fight for herself?

Of course.
Her perfect glittery Meyer-pires can't have a single flaw or weakness.

So that's why Meyer considers Alice strong becaus tshe's super strong and fast.
