How to Draw Manga books, and looking at references. Understanding the structure. Find a real person and sketch them out using nothing but circles and square to find the proportions of the body?

Don't know, just a few tips.
Pencil Smear Help? Need Artist help! Go to post 35 Art Discussion Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:58 pm
I think every have given you everything you could ask for.

Harder lead (I use 2H).

Don't rest your hand on the paper (use something under your hand like another piece of paper or napkin), but I found this not to work if you were sketching in a sketch book. When you close the page, then it just smears on the other page, making your whole paper light gray instead of white with pencil lines.

Wear gloves, but then holding your pencil may become cumbersome. I can't have anything on the hand I draw with because it just feels... well, there, and I don't like anything there. It gets in the way. It is possible too that if you were still using soft lead it would smear with the glove contact instead of your hand.

.... All in all I'm still supporting harder lead. It really does work.

I suggest looking at those shoujo manga. You know, all those soap opera-like ones. They have those feminen shoujo guys in there.
Scanner & Tablet help Go to post 5 Art Discussion Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:50 pm
Should really save up for a tablet PC.
It's much easier to use than a mouse -or- a regular tablet.

As for scanners, I've been using HP scanjet 3500c for a few years now.
Am i the only one who is disturbed by Anthro x_x Go to post 83 Art Discussion Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:47 pm
I like Anthro, but some of it can be way out of hand. I'm so not into those Disney like animals with human features being portrayed in sexual poses or anything like that. You know, like the ones from Oliver and Company or something. I believe the body has to be at least human-like. burning_eyes
My Wacom tablet pen chose NOW to get dull on me. Go to post 6 Art Discussion Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:44 pm
We had the same problems with our Tablet PC. We had to reinstall Photoshop for it to work. There may be other solutions, but this fixed our issue.
