Woof, no help there. I'm using a $1,400 HP Tablet PC, back when they could be slates. I heard they discontinued them. :< Tablet PC slates are just like drawing in sketchbooks. Very easy to handle.

I use Photoshop CS2, Painter 9.5 (trial version until it runs out... not sure what I'll do then), and Copic markers. Sometimes I use Prismacolor colored pencils, or Kimberly watercolor pencils.. but that's rare. To ink my CG drawings I do it in Photoshop CS2, and for my normal ones I use Sakura pens -or- Faber Castell Pitt pens. If it's a marker drawing I use Copic pens because they handle the high alcohol content. I normally draw in a Bienfang sketch book, then do the rest, but for Copics I do the drawing on my sketch book first then trace it onto a Copic alcohol marker pad. I also use a Sakura opaque white pen for highlights on watercolor and marker drawings. sweatdrop

You could always get The Gimp. It's a free art program done by the same makers of the Linux operating system.
http://www.gimp.org/windows/ But in general, I like traditional and digital mediums. The only way I got Photoshop CS2 was from work, I work as a graphic designer. My boss gave me a copy to use for work, and said I could use it for personal things as well, long as I kept up with my work. I squeeled with joy. If you're selling art, people tend to like the traditional mediums more, that way they can get the original piece to hang up in their home or office. If digital was the only way you could be good, we wouldn't have art galleries anymore. |

Heck no. A normal tablet might be easier to use than a mouse, but a Tablet PC is the easiest! It's just so sweet being able to "see" what you're doing and not having to guess where you pen will land you on the screen. You can get a much more natural effect working with a Tablet PC.
I have an HP, and I love everything about it except for one thing. The pen is fat, but you can get different pens. Everything else about it works perfectly! I just haven't bothered to get a different pen yet because the fat one still works, it's just after 5 hours of working on it my hand starts to feel sore. Then again... that's 5 hours. xd I've had a normal tablet too, so I -am- speaking from experience! |

As disgusting as it is, I'd have to agree. Look at feet, lots of feet. Pictures of feet, drawings of feet...-your- feet.

I don't pay attention to artists' names: irl; Western comics; or manga.

I totally agree with you.
It's alright to copy for practice, and to say that you copied the image, but trying to claim it as your own just isn't right. There should of been a notice under it or something "Copied from the FMA movie poster" or something, or not of been posted at all. |

I understand that. Sometimes you get supplies that you just don't use anymore, you know? A long time ago I got a box of 48 Prismacolor pencils. I don't really use them anymore. And then when I married my husband, he had one too (but in spanish). We combined our boxes, but we hardly ever use them, -if- ever.
