Remind me why someone in the federal branch is commenting on a state and local issue in the first place at a conference focused on national issues?
Not that it should be wrong to do so, I just found that it was zeroed in on to be kind of odd. Especially when such cases happen daily without there being an upper class citizen involved. There were many things wrong with all of this being reported in the first place. I can't help but feel a bit cheated people aren't paying attention to all the other news of the day (or in this case: days).

I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of all this.

Okay, the guy was following protocol when he arrested that person, protocol people. He was doing his job, by what he was taught. You can make a face, and crack a joke as much as you want about it (believe me I'm no fan of some policemen either), but when it comes down to it, the guy was doing his job.

The neighbor called because they thought someone was breaking into Mr. Gate's house. Or at least, that's what I got from it. If that person was watching out for Mr. Gate's house, how is that bad? (well unless there's some evidence to prove it was a racially charged assumption on the part of the neighbor) Please keep in mind I have not paid attention to recent updates so if there is by now, I'm sorry to hear that.

Anyway, I can understand why it's a hot button issue. It's unfortunate that in a time where we are supposed to stand with one another that such news could pull us apart so quickly.

This does not mean there weren't strained relations before however, and I don't mean racially.
It's quite obvious this country is torn apart by ideology alone.

I feel I'm right in saying that no matter what side of the fence we're standing on we can at least agree we didn't need this to happen. Am I right?

Unfortunately such events occur daily, and without there being a Harvard Professor involved.

Yeah, I think Bleach looked more interesting, and I really do want to get more into it. ^^;
Overall...I'm all over the board in fandom. I like Saiyuki (Burial OVA was that BEST), xxxHolic, Gundam Wing, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop (basics), Lucky Star, Strawberry Panic, Outlaw Star, a lot of adventure type/outlaw animes...or war type animes for some reason. I also like Jigoku Shojo and Serial Experiments Lain (because it made your brain explode in a totally different way than FLCL did...o.O;; in spooky way..) um...Tenchi series were fun but I tend to settle more on Tenchi Universe or "Tenchi TV" from the 90s...xD ...NANA, Yami to boushi to hon no tabibito- stuff like that. o.o; Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho were fun while they lasted...and so was Trigun. Blah. Shonen. lol. xD The Chrno Crusade and Saiyuki animes kind of pissed me off after a while because they weren't following the manga. u.u;; ..and until Saiyuki had an OVA I felt like it wasn't getting the animation it deserved. But that's just because I'm a crazy Kazuya Minekura fan. Most of her fans love yaoi, but I like yuri better. Very strange. Very strange. *face palm* Anyway....enough of my babble! sweatdrop

Sadly, the Strawberry Panic manga is only 2 volumes (or at least that's what I've been told? Anyone care to clarify?). That's why I'm going to talk about the anime instead, even though this is a manga forum. sweatdrop

About what Fuu umi said above, how true. That's really what this series is about. I own all of the Strawberry Panic anime..and its really interesting....but yes, it will be a bit naughty. Overall its a really cute series though, and really helps illustrate a number of different relationships, not just love, but friendship, and lust as well.
One of the first Shojo-ai animes I've ever watched, and its still a favorite.
I also liked Yami to Boshi to Hon no Tabibito.Which was just full on naughty in a lot of ways, but the overall story was epic! heart Um yeah. Wouldn't recommend these series to people who aren't at LEAST 16 though. If homosexuality/bisexuality bothers you, then they're definitely not for you. ^^;

The story is enjoyable, and told in a unique way. Almost more like a novel, and you can enjoy the charm of the characters without it taking away from the overall messages of each encounter that occurs. The fact that it examines a lot of supernatural phenomena, urban myths and legends, and mythology and ideology makes it really neat for me. It has combined my three favorite subjects! Philosophy, Culture, and Anime! xd
But I also think that some of the stretched out character designs puts off some people from wanting to watch it. I suppose that's to be expected though. Most people freak out over different things. I just don't care, its the story that counts, and their stretched out demeanors symbolize (to me anyway) the exaggeration of reality. But that's just how I view it. ^^;

I'm not sure if you've been told this already in this thread, but there's an OVA that's come out called:
"xxxHolic Shunmuki" and there's only 2 episodes, but it looks pretty neat. Any more adventures with these guys would be interesting anyway. 3nodding

Well I consider anime from the 90s older (but not oldest) Noir, is pretty new when put next to them. razz
I really loved Noir! My friend and I in high school followed the whole series! It's excellent! I really recommend if you can buy the whole series, to do so, because it gets more and more interesting, and the ending wasn't bad either. heart
I agree, that anime needs more fans, and it wasn't really marketed as well as it should've been here in the U.S. I think a lot of people get bored with the first dvd, but it does pick up afterwards like you said. The overall story is too interesting to miss. smile
I am going to buy the whole series. My friend has it all (each dvd as it came out plus the artbox I gave her+ the 1st volume, but I'm just going to buy the box set for myself (I was fortunate enough to get a Noir poster at Fanime con one year)....

Thank God, someone else mentioned it on here! I was going insane trying to find a thread that wasn't about mainstream anime. Naruto...was everywhere...but that's to be expected. *face palm*
(which I do like parts of Shippuden but overall I'm not a huge fan of it...I like Flame of Recca better..actually I like a lot of 90s anime....) Anyway.
I hope this has at least let you know, that no you're not alone in thinking this series is awesome. 3nodding

I don't understand what the big deal is. The gaian pixel artists and item creators (everyone involved) are smart in realizing that yes, there are younger users, thus they made it more like a silhouette, but they also gave enough shading and shape to suggest sex appeal. They have already "toned it down" for younger users. After all this is an anime/manga based community, and it wouldn't be realistic to say that there are no similar pictures in many mangas and anime.....my point being people need to realize that it could be a LOT worse and more adult looking. As for some users complaining about the skin tone: I'm sorry but Alruna's rose clearly caters to certain tastes (be it goth or otherwise) and everyone deserves to be represented equally. Not everyone likes tan beach bunnies you know. heart
