Sleeping Dragon of Shu
Very interesting. I thought that was the case. I am actually called Kongming by my friends irl, and I am trying to find any traces of the style. ^-^

From what I've seen of Japanese interpretations of the RoTK story (IkkiTousen, Koutetsu Sangokushi, the old cartoon from the 90s), Kongming's the one that most often gets called by his style (in Japanese, Koumei)! It's kinda funny, 'cause nine times out of ten, he'll usually be the ONLY one getting called by it!

Ever heard of Devil Kings? It's much like Samurai Warriors, just that it's made by Capcom.

yeah its alot like dynasty warriors but i heard it was a horrible knock off...

doesnt even dent the surface of dynasty or the other series.

I was under the impression that Capcom consulted Koei on it, but it's basically Samurai Warriors with half the cast, funky-cool outfits, the names changed for the American market, and the difficulty level ratcheted up all the way.

They just rushed it out the door...but I guess they figure they can since it's a fanservice game.

In all seriousness, I think this was the actual reason - it was basically a game designed to cater to fans and tide them over in the long wait between SW2 (and it's expansions) and DW6.

Ironic part being, it's probably my favorite of the series right now. XD

There was no reason *not* to include them. sad

Honey it's because it would be unfair to those who have bought JPN version...and they hate NA. With the crappy VAs and whatnot. </3 =D

I feel bad for those twenty or so people. sad

D'you reckon the auditions were like "Okay, guys - let's pick the one that is most likely to make players' heads explode when they hear him"?

im sure they will.. i mean gundam musou featured both japanese and english voices ^^ which is a rarity for PAL regioned releases ^^

In Orochi? At least in the NTSC version, they only had English voices. SADNESS.

I'm hoping they put both in DW6 when it comes out over here, though.

So you actually downloaded the game, or bought it? If you downloaded, awesome... not sure if that's legal, but hey, whatever floats your boat. I wish I could have heard some of them in Japanese... Sakon would have been nice to hear in Japanese.

Musou Orochi, yeah, we downloaded as soon as it came out - we actually had DW6 imported when it was first released (because PS3s are region-free).

Japanese voices >>>>>>> English voices in Orochi - I don't know what the hell happened there, particularly to the SW cast (DW didn't get hit as badly). Particularly Hideyoshi - what the hell, why does he sound like Bugs Bunny suddenly?!

And I agree - the game only takes up like half a disc. There was definitely room for some Japanese voices on there. There was no reason *not* to include them. sad

O-Oh man, Zhen Ji was such a pain to get the first time I went through Orochi. I went through it in Japanese first, because we were impatient for the English version - but when the English version came out, I knocked that stage right out on the second go or something.

No, the one that hurts me in my soulbox will always be Lady Noh's unlock stage. AKLJSFKDJ MESSENGERS. Lu Meng is THE MAN for that stage (although for some reason after that stage, his R-1 went from shooting fire arrows to... blocking. I don't get it).

I used Lu Meng and Lu Xun in that stage. If, by some reason they are able to escape Meng's R1, then they never escaped Lu Xun's running attack. That was so irritating.

I was always horribly amused at the Wu guys' reactions to Noh hitting on them - o Zhou Yu, when did you become so skeezy?

Also, playing Nobunaga in that stage is hilarious - Zhen Ji basically says Noh's got him whipped.

And he's like "Yeah, so?"
