Guests that show up are those they can get in contact with and who have the time to come out. As for the panels the staff isn't really in control of content. It's really up to who's running them. If you'd like to see more/new content mention it on the forums at the Detour site. Most panelist are more then happy to take suggestions.

A good place to check to see about both car pooling with someone as well as seeing if there's some room someone would lend you is in the forums at the Anime Detour site. There's usually a few people looking for people to room with because they too can't afford the entire room themself.

No, no it's not. There are plenty of animes that have characters within the realm of possibility of the real world. The fact that you think they all have strange hair tells me that your watching a lot of the magical girl genre. And with that being said I shall now leave for I like my brain cells right where they are.

Well, here's my opinions.

Death Note, In General: It was both a good manga series and from what I seen of the anime it did pretty well for itself. It was solid all the way through and even though it was a bit bogged with information it kept the flow going and didn't sidetrack. Totally worth every moment taken to read/watch it.

Death Note: R (Director's Cut): A complete waste of time. You said 3 hours but it was only 2 hours 10 minutes. Either way it just a clip show of the first half of the anime. There wasn't much at all for new content. Nor were most of the clips that exciting. Granted they were key moments but just thrown together like that it was kinda lame.

Live Action Movies: (Death Note/Death Note: The Last Name) First off, you have to be willing to except a storyline change. In the begining I didn't have a problem with it but by the end of the movie I was rather upset on how they decided to play it out. Granted the movies were good but it's almost it's own story.
(L: to change the worLd) This one's a prequel. It also isn't out yet. I'm not an L fans so I probably won't even bother with it. (Unless the rumors of Mello/Near making an appearence are true.)

Volume 13: How to read: This one can't hurt the series. It's just a refrance book. All it does is fill in the tiny gaps that were made when they rushed through certain aspects or, like in the case of L, didn't reviel a name. If you have the manga collection it won't be complete without this.

Another Note (prequel novel): It's the story of the case that L worked on with Naomi Misora. (Remember not only did she state to Light that she'd worked with L but then when she went missing, L stated the same.) Again, an L prequel. Probubly not something I'm going to bother with.

If it's not there it's not there. I'd say check other video streaming sites but it's better to buy it. Though it'd be hypocritical if I said never to watch anime on YouTube/download it. So I won't.
I didn't think that GetBackers was online but then again, I guess just about every semi-popular series is. Can't really help you so... good luck, I guess.

As for this year I'm not exactly sure but the list will contain Haruno Sakura (Shippuden Version).
