Ketsueki Einjeru Thanks for the advice. But I do start drawing my characters off in the nude and yeah, I add the clothes afterward, I don't just bosh body pats to where I think they need to go.
I did try to shape the shoulders and the back, but maybe I didn't shape them enough..
I know I need to practice drawing facial features alot more though, but Yeah, taking photo's of myself in certain poses might help.
I apologise if I came across harshly, by the by. Just try to make sure that you really flesh out the character physically in the nude -- pay close attention to the anatomical structures -- before you start moving forward with the image (solidifying the pose, adding clothing).

Oh god what what is this do you even know what the Justice card represents how do you oh god you are not good at Tarots help
I'm sure your camera has a self timer.
Stand in the pose you're making an attempt to draw, and take a photo of yourself.
If you can't do that, make one of your friends pose for you. Please.
The foreshortening on the arms is.. a good attempt but a massive fail. Photo reference will help you out there so much.
Also, in regards to the sword -- her fists are directly out in front of her, yet the sword is coming forward at an angle. This doesn't make sense and doesn't work. Either the hands must be angled, or the sword verticle. That's one reason the sword still looks crooked, despite using a ruler. Because it is. Another reason is that it's twisted. Near the hilt the perspective isn't bad, but the further up the blade you go, the more it looks like the flat of the blade is dead on in front of the viewer.
I'm honestly scared to wonder what is going on with her body below the waistline. Barbie dolls are more anatomically correct. Try drawing the full body nude first, then adding clothing. Not just OH HERE'S SOME SHAPES HEY LET'S JUST COVER THAT UP OH UH LEGS YEAH THERE'S LEGS THERE.
her face looks like a flat 2D image pasted off-center onto her neck. Where is the rest of her skull, not to mention her spine? And pay attention to how the shoulders position themselves depending on how and where one holds one's arms. (Hint: they don't work like how you've drawn them.)
I'm not even going to touch on the shape of mouth or proportions of her facial features, egh.
OTHER STUFF:
The notches on the sword blade? They're a big no. That makes for one hella weak sword, and doesn't give any benefits to the blade.
And the formatting. Never crop an image at the knee-area like that. It makes it look like you just ran out of room, and doesn't leave any suggestion of anything further on the figure past that point.

Actually, chibis usually are somewhat proportionate -- and yours isn't. The body parts are, to eachother, but not to the head and it just leaves it looking incredibly awkward. The torso needs to be thicker and more condensed.
The more realistic one has similar issues -- the torso is much too narrow compared to the size of the skull, and by god pay attention to the size of your paper before you start drawing -- that way you'll actually get a chance to draw past the knees.
Practice anatomy, please. The entire shoulder/collarbone/neck area looks like you were just guessing.

Cyberpumpkin Put aside coloring for now, as well as anime style. Just improve your drawing technique in general. Draw simple objects, or try drawing things from photos.
Your ideas are actually pretty solid, but right now your creativity is way ahead of your skill level. Just give it some time and work so it can keep up. wink
This.
I very much recommend stopping colouring and digital techniques for a bit -- focus on learning anatomy and practicing hands, facial features, and drawing full bodies. Learn proportions and how the body works and connects, rather than just trying to mimic a particular generic style.

I think #4 looks quite nice, though I ended up voting for #7 -- the one thing I very much do not like about it is that one detached red puffy legging (what's the point or purpose of it? It looks incredibly off compared to the rest of the outfit, and looks like it'd be more hassle than help).
As much as all the designs are really quite nice, and I can see why people are drawn to them, IMHO they really do not look like clothes a "Regular girl from a town" would be strutting around in.

Make sure you pay attention to the size of your page compared to the size of your drawing -- missing limbs because you're drawing larger than your space are just no good!
Watchout on your torsos, too; in several drawings they look quite petite compared to the overly massive heads and long limbs, and it looks a bit awkward.

Pfft. All the cats and whatnot are major lame.
Water Meat and the Grunny definitely win over everything else.
The Gwee seems far too popular to not be on the poll, though.

Sparkyperson subplot Sparkyperson Yes, it would matter.
Tradition is Tradition.
"LOL HAVE THIS EGG" would end a tridition thats existed longer then i've been a member on this site.
********.
God forbid they choose to change the event and some members can't handle that.
So far it seems that they're not doing their usual egg collecting thing. So what. "Tradition" just doesn't cut it. It's not a "tradition" just because they've used the same event a few years in a row. I'm confused here....
What are you trying to achieve?
I'm mostly arguing the "Yes we are having an event" point to anyone who says otherwise.
Your starting to sound all grinchwise with the "YOU WILL NOT HAVE THIS EVENT AND YOU WILL GET THE HELL OVER IT" talk.
Because you can't seem to grasp the possibility of an event other than the one you're oh-so-used to, and are using "BUT THEY'VE ALWAYS DONE IT BEFORE!" as your only justification that the easter egg hunt is what they'll be doing as an event this year.

Alt F4 Miserable pile of secrets lanzer said we would get an event
djhellsing said we wouldn't
any little thing to lanzer is an event
djhellsing said no event (probably in the sense that there will be no collecting of easter eggs and whatnot...or like the mod said, he was trying to joke but people took him DEAD serious)
http://www.gaiaonline.com/event/easter2008?action=pm
does that not say /event/easter2008?
either way, something is going to happen to that egg but i get the feeling not today sweatdrop Because he said it seriously.
Your response doesn't even make sense. Stop blurting nonsense if you're not a troll. All they did was point out, like a lot of other people, that the egg thing is probably what Lanzer was referring to as the "event", and the DJ said there wasn't going to be an event because he doesn't consider the egg-thing to be one.
