sodium Following that logic, they could get rid of all clothing, because sometimes kids get made fun of for their clothing and that can lead to psychological scarring.
I don't really see how alcohol is along the same lines as tobacco. Italian families always drink wine, I probably started when I was 8 or so.
But I don't think smoking is a cultural thing that gets started at young ages (acceptable at young ages.) [ ♥♥♥] Agreed.
Except, I do think it's a cultural thing that does get started at a young age. The majority of smokers I know, started in HS.
I don't think Gaia banned them to get kids to stop smoking, I think it has more to do with the image it presents. And that is young kids are going to a store to buy cigs. IRL, that'd be illegal so I can see how wrong it'd be to have it be legal on a website.

Thnx Lanzer, But we still want our cigs!

[♥♥♥] Losing half their clientele? Proof?
You'd think people would leave because of the CS, that's has more of a influence on RL (aka their banks/money).

[♥♥♥] I don't think they banned it to get people to stop IRL.
They know they don't have that type of power.
It'll be great for them to express why they banned cigs from the gold shop.

Psychedelic Flower `deja vu Quote: This is utter bullshit. I now think of gaia as a hypocritical website with bigots for trustees. You don't force your beliefs on others, especially if you are an American based website. ******** no! How ignorant! [ ♥♥♥]
That part is showing your ignorance on America. There are states in America that ban smoking.
California, where Gaia's HQ is located, has a smoking ban.
Does the ban include pixel smoking? ._. [ ♥♥♥] It doesn't have to. This is all PC business.

California, where Gaia's HQ is located, has a smoking ban. Are you an idiot? People were able to VOTE on those cigarette bans in those states, where as here, we had no choice.
In america you cannot just take away someone's rights. There must be a majority of the people who decide on the ban. There must be a vote with the public involved.
Gaia's head quarters may be in cali, but their business is on *~*~*~ THE INTERNET*~*~*~ and their userbase is all over america. [ ♥♥♥]
No, their user base is international, their business is on the internet AND in Cali or else wtf is the HQ is used for? DDR and Band Hero?
And part of those nifty American laws says Gaia doesn't have to behave like a democracy when it comes to their own property.
Again, that still does not excuse them for their unprofessional behavior. I mean really.. six years of it and suddenly they make a decision on a whim to get rid of them without thinking or planning or explaining. They are hypocrytes, their NPC's smoke i.e. GAMBINO. They are a walking contradiction i.e. pills, suggestive art and items, alcohol items, weapons. Now tell me that this is morally correct to do. You can't because it is morally wrong, and furthermore professionally incorrect.
They have caused chaos on their own site. [ ♥♥♥]
The way they did it was unprofessional, yeah.
And, according to the majority of America, it's morally alright to ban smoking but keep other things. And being that Gaia IS influence by RL, this decision didn't surprise me.

They should have communicated with us before they made the decision. And it'd be great if they gave us the courtesy of letting us vote for it. That's what I agree with.

Djubre I'm sorry, I forgot the time when it officially became socially acceptable (and now apparently encouraged too) to impose one's beliefs on others and thus shoving one's lifestyle forcibly down others nostrils. [ ♥♥♥] Not only did it officially become socially acceptable. It became legally acceptable too. Get with the times, hippy.

Amorphous Metal `deja vu It's like someone walking up to a Camel's Ad and putting a nicotine patch on it. That's marketing whatever brand that nicotine patch is through guerrilla ways.
Did no one read my post on pg.7? "whatever brand" There is NO brand attached to Gaia's tobacco items! [ ♥♥♥] Uh, I'm on your side, dude.

Tensaibishonen Amorphous Metal Tensaibishonen It'd just be so much more effective to organize the rage in some way. People will eventually change their avatars and sigs. Rage after raging is just forgotten.
Here is your organization!:
Be sure to check the links out as well. wink Well, there you go bitches that'll work.
If anyone actually does it. Someone started a campaign like that against someone or other for some reason or other a few years ago about coffee and only like 2 people sent coffee....
I personally think a petition would be more effective. [ ♥♥♥] If a lot of users did this then the media would have to pick it up. I wonder what the world outside of Gaia would feel about this.
