 Writer's block is like the common cold....there is no cure so we just have to endure it. Eventually it does go away though....sometimes at the most inopportune moments. Vankar Well the best way to summarize something would be one sentence. I once was talking with my friend and he asked for a summarize my story, so I gave him one. It was about 15 minutes long because I told him most of it, and he thought it was around 100 pages, when in reality it is about 15. So keep it short and sweet and go vague to draw them in. ^^ Good advice. Anyone else have something to say? Speak your mind...!.... |

Have you ever been in this situation....... You're in the midst of a conversation, when somehow the topic manages to change to literature. You mention that you're working on an original story. This tidbit of information peeks the receiver's interest. They ask you the dreaded question. 'Oh, really what is it about,"they inquire? Not knowing what to say you blurt out, "Uh....well....you see it's about this person...who uh.....and yeah...he lives in this world.....um....yeah...b-but it's actually better than what it sounds...yeah....it's..um...difficult....and stuff.." The receiver either: a)stares at you blankly b) attempts to hold in a chuckle c) nods solemnly d) changes the subject....not wishing you any further embarrasment e) explodes I'm having a difficult time summarizing my story..(NO I DON"T WANT YOUR HELP...I work alone..-over reaction at it's best-..) I actually wished to know if others have or are currently going through the same dilemma. If so...than let's discuss that over a hot steamy cup of joe!?! I'll mention this one more time.....because I just KNOW that some idiot is going to come in here without reading the post and assume that I'm asking for them to create one for me....thus posting a rather vulgar message about how stupid I am for 'supposedly' asking for another person to summarize MY story....I...do...not...need...external...help..... ^^ Now that that's out of the way.....lets all hold hands and sing songs about rainbows!!!!! =0 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~to sing in the rein~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
